Phantom Liberty absolutely blew me away and far exceeded my expectations. It left me speechless… It was almost painful when CDPR announced that it was going to be their one and only dlc for the game…
It’s also not often mentioned but they came out with a completely free 2.0 version that added new cars, gameplay mechanics, item leveling tweaks, and overall quality of life improvements that make Cyberpunk the gem it is today.

Phantom Liberty had me on the edge of my seat. I liked it more than the main campaign and that's saying something. Dogtown is small but more vertical, with more attention to detail and very distinct locations. The story is extremely engaging while still easy to understand, the dialogue and voice acting is amazing and don't even get me started on Myers, Reed, Alex and Songbird. Peak character writing for all of them. I also missed Songbird and Reed, even more than I missed other characters in Cyberpunk with the exception of Johnny. Phantom Liberty is CDPR at it's best.
I started Cyberpunk in patch 1.5 when it just started getting good so i could stress test a new computer. I felt a very similar "this is a bit jank, but there's the potential for a top 10 game here". After the release of PL it is assuredly in my top 5. Cyberpunk is such a good game that i RELIGIOUSLY avoid fast travel just so i can try out all the cool cars and absorb the Night City vibe.
@@Trench-coat that reminds me, that to be fair to the whole "Side quests feel they're detracting from the narrative", the game is meant to be played more than once to learn life lessons the game is trying to get through to you, one of which being to slow down and enjoy living. The game kind of intends you to rush the devil ending, hate it, try the aldecaldos to see if Alt's help seals the deal, it doesn't but you'd rather not side with Saka anyway, then you reel Rogue into the raid and feel horrible for getting her killed which naturally makes players wish for an ending that satisfies the itch of V becoming a living legend AND not having anyone else die for them. That's when you discover (Don't) Fear the Reaper, the secret ending of the game accessed by being Johnny's friend but forcing him to face his actions at the oil fields and then "Taking your time" as Misty suggests in the roof. There's foreshadowing to THIS ending in every single other ending that i can place clear examples of, but this is already a lot.
great video! you described perfectly how I felt after the credits rolled on phantom liberty. I couldn't help but feel empty after, the weight that your decisions have with these characters are so heavy. I can't wait to see what cdpr cooks up for the future of cyberpunk.
Great take! I mostly agree. As a casual gamer who didn't pay much attention to the glitches, I felt what they where trying to achieve with it and was super relieved that they decided to fix everything. It's one of my favorite games now.
Honestly it’s the only game I keep coming back hundreds, if not thousands of hours into it. I just started a new play through and finding multiple new things I never saw before. It’s a beautiful game.
1000% agree with your low points!! Absolutely love this game but there were many times I felt my what my character said didn’t match the choice I just selected 🤣
first time playing through face in the crowd ending left me in awe for half an hour. I also made it when i've had best standing with Jonny, that made it even more impactful. That really shows in practice the meaning of a phrase "Here, for folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people."
The thing I like about Cyberpunk is that. It's not just another grindy game. In fact, througout my entire 291hrs, I've never truly felt like its a grind. The story and world felt so immersive and real at the same time. It felt relatable. We as protagonist sometimes felt like just another cog in the grand scheme of things that is Night City. We are just another asset caught in the crossfire between corporate secret and war, just trying to live and go on with our day.
Favorite game since 2.0 and PL dropped. They were already winning me back with 1.5. I largely enjoyed the game at launch but got hit with a disappointment bomb around the time act 2 was wrapping up. It just was not clicking outside of the narrative and characters. Unlike most titles that disappointed, I kept coming back with each patch because I knew there was a skeleton for something far greater, and while what we got now seemed unimaginable in 2021, I'm relieved that it's now exactly what I wanted. Phantom Liberty is exactly what an expansion is supposed to be. Understand the strengths of the base game and build upon it, and they achieved that better than any recent example. Hope they don't completely give up on bug fixes.
I never beat the game when it launched and I didn’t even have a lot of problems with bugs but I recently got Phantom Liberty and restarted the game. Idk why I’m enjoying the game so much more this time all I’ve finished is the intro but this time around I feel so immersed. I believe my hype and expectations really damaged my first play through. The game is still not what I originally thought it would be but it is great for what it is.
Hey Man, very very good video! I have watched a tone of video essays about Cyberpunk 2077. I am terminally nostalgic about my time with this game (I actually had an amazing launch via Geforce Now and not even being aware of what was happening online ;P). It is such a difficult feeling to convey what Cyberpunk does. The connection with characters and how believable they feel (the sand storm cabin moment with Saul and Panam

Hey man, firstly thank you so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the video, it means a-lot that you resonated with it - Cyberpunk is truly a special game and part of the reason for starting this channel (which yes, is my first) was because of how much joy and passion Phantom Liberty brought back to me. It is the only build that keeps the difficulty curve more interesting while also allowing for many different approaches and not getting bored of one playstyle. And tech weapons are just awesome and full of options. That is my main build and the one I 100% the game with. Corpo male V. Cheers!
I remember launch day. I was playing on PS4 Pro and had no issues playing the game. There were a few glitches to exploit though like getting into the end game apartment. I still have all the items I looted and transferred that save to the PC version.
I'm so happy i waited to play this game. After building my first pc(7900xtx/7600x), and after a 120 hour/98%bug free playthrough, i can safely say cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best games i have ever played. The world feels so lived in and the characters' dialogue feel so real. What an amazing experience.
I got to play cyberpunk the first time when phantom liberty came out. I'm not exactly sure but I think I played for like 60 hours until I did my first clear of both the dlc and the main game (keep in mind I didn't do all side quests etc). After I was done with phantom liberty (which I played after playing the main game) I came to the conclusion that cyberpunk 2077 is definitely one of the best games I've ever played in my life. And phantom liberty is by far the best dlc I've ever played.
Been playing the game for over a year. Finally beat it this year. I didn’t know how to play my first play through. Now I have all the bikes, and apartments you can buy. I just realized the vendors had quickhacks. Just got David’s jacket other day. Now, I have to figure out how to survive maxtac.
I gotta shoutout my friend who put me on to this masterpiece telling me it’s the best game he’s ever played now I’ve finally finished it I can happily agree with it genuinely one of the most engaging games I’ve ever played and thankfully only started it after 2.1 so I had the perfect first run
I didn't have a gaming PC or a console to play the game. only about a year ago I got one and downloaded a huge list of games including BG3, Borderlands 1-3, my favorite MMORPG, and cyberpunk. I didn't experience the bugs and the frustration, I just got a perfect game. But the downside is that I can't play any other game and sink in. Cyberpunk is always there calling me to try another style, to clear another trash from the city, to fall in love with Panam, to feel the freedom of a double air dash while exploding something. For me it's just the right pace, the right music, the right feels, the right amount of badass. and it is all connected so well...
Well done video, you got a follow from me. PL is one of the best expansions since Blood & Wine. It's deep, masterfully written/acted and more importantly thought provoking. Which IMO is the highest praise you can give to PC game.
When Cyberpunk released my computer was nowhere near capable of running it unfortunately, but I was so hyped for it that I decided to do something I'd never done before: I completely isolated myself from cyberpunk. Didn't watch any gameplay, reviews, bug complations, etc. I didn't manage to completely avoid it, I did hear people complain about how buggy it was, but I had hope it was exaggerated, and/or it would get fixed with time and still didn't watch anything about cyberpunk. I had the opportunity to buy a new PC just a few months after Phantom Liberty released and while I still shielded myself from gameplays and whatnot, I was reading a bunch of positive comments on the state of the game. When my pc arrived it was the first game I downloaded. Played it all, right up until after Jakie dies in the car. Holy shit, that was something. I got to experience this masterpiece in its best state for the first time completely blind. Bwst decision ever. I stopped playing for the day before going back to talk to dexter because I genuinely needed to take a breather because of how intensely the game made me connect with the world and its characters
I think the reason V goes and does all these side quests is because they truly enjoy merc work. They love helping people and saving those unrightfully being attacked. This is what they love and if they onlly have so long to live they might as well do it to the fullest.
I will always trust CD Projekt Red because they always make sure the writing in their games is always at the very top of what’s most important. That’s what gives life to these characters. That’s what keeps people engaged. The rest of the stuff is easy to do when the story has been meticulously crafted and tied together.
I would be careful with trusting them now, since they hired a shitload of woke activists lately. CP2077 might just be their last good game. I hope I'm wrong.
The problem for me I was thinking about playing cyberpunk 2077 or starfield first, I went for cyberpunk 2077 first. And I enjoyed the game a lot. I finished the game and felt emotionally overwhelmed, I couldn't play any game for two weeks. When I tried to play starfield, I simply couldn't. It's so more bland than cyberpunk that I simply couldn't feel anything.
I totally get that and had a very similar experience. I made a one year later about Starfield as well and I talked a-lot about how emotional detached I felt from what I was actually doing. Going from Cyberpunk - a game with no loading screens to Starfield is quite shocking.
Nice vid, mate. I only picked up gaming as an occasional past-time in the end of 2022. I stepped in on just the right moment, it seems. That there was for us no way of guessing in which tone V. would say something. Good point. I have always skipped the car-race. Regarding Phantom Liberty: it is impossible to sneak in and out of dog town. Before I typed this comment, I have checked this. I returned to the point where everyone at the beginning of Phantom Liberty sneaks into Dog Town following So-mi, after having finished the story of Phantom Liberty. It is not possible to sneak into Dog town by that route again. Those scanners scanning the car or motorbike broke my sense of immersion. How can a guy or girl like V. get past those scanners? A minor gripe. Not a dealbreaker. Having stepped into gaming only in the beginning of 2023, I'm falling into one great gaming moment into another. I still havent played the witcher III. I am still to experience that game for the first time.
Thanks! Welcome to the wonderful world of gaming. If you have any videos you’d like to see in the future, let me know how I could help. Gaming can feel overwhelming at the start but it’s so worth it. Firmly believe it is one of the very best hobbies out there. Welcome and enjoy the journey!
Start a Cyberpunk video without talking about the flawed launch: impossible challenge. Millions of us bought the game day 1 on PC and didn't pay attention to media hullabaloo and the social media echo chamber. We managed to have a great time, fall in love with the world, incredible detail, and the storytelling.
Very happy for you but millions of us also bought it on console and paid with hard earned cash just to get a game that barely functions. We can celebrate Cyberpunk’s success but not by forgetting. Otherwise it will just happen again.
I love Cyberpunk but I’m glad to see someone else agree with the game being at odds with its story sometimes. The main story is SO high stakes and SO immediate that it makes little sense to do any side missions and ultimately they dragged me out of the immersion. Why would I help this clown with a grenade nose when I’m literally days away from death? Why would I purchase new cars or new apartments? It’s something many open world games struggle with but it stuck out a lot to me in CP2077
CDPR is my favorite game studio, I believe they learned their lesson with Cyberpunk initial launch disaster and will ensure this does not happen in future, it gives a very good hope for Witcher 4
I have a very powerful laptop now, and damn it looks fucking incredible. I couldnt hit more than 40 fps with minimum, and now, I understand ray tracing and thank god for modders, its a whole new experience
i preordert the game and was 1 of the lucky ppl that had next to no bugs of any sort from day 1. i loved this game even in its launch-state so much. Seeing all the effort CDPR put in over time to make up, amend and improve this game, saw it inch closer to what ppl pre-launch wanted it to be, the quality ppl wanted from them, i was glad that of all companies it was CDPR´s game as most other devs would have dropped it very fast and called it a day. And with the release of the 2.0 version and the DLC, i can say that they after all this time managed to improve the game so much that its now worth all the hype it got back then. Its went from a undercooked game with the promise of becoming a masterpiece to an actual masterpiece
I actually was less crazy about the overall story of phantom liberty expansion (felt like a different game - way more cinematic, and it's great, I just prefer the missions from the original), but the gameplay overhaul turned CP to my favorite fps/rpg ever - I always loved the world of CP2077, but the gameplay was lacking, but man, the gameplay after phantom liberty is just top notch
I totally get what you mean! The gameplay overhaul really transformed the experience. It's fascinating how a change in mechanics can elevate a game so much, even if the story takes a different direction. Thanks for the comment!
been w/CP since launch on Series X (so i didn’t experience too bad of performance) .. while it was undercook on what was promised i still enjoyed the base game especially for its story but gameplay left more to be desired … then 2.0 dropped + Phantom Liberty & it’s become one of my favs of all time. CDPR just makes games that are perfect for me personally. Really hope they ramp up the rpg elements in the sequel, as well as, more choices! I think gameplay is in great hands tho w/what they did w/2.0
Definitely think they will ramp up the RPG elements for the sequel as that was the biggest critique they fixed with Phantom Liberty. The director for the sequel is the same as for Phantom Liberty - he is great!
I think a big part of the historic redemption of Cyberpunk is detailing how genuinely bad it was. It genuinely didn’t work at all on last gen which is the console its original release had it coming at-but even if you had the hardware for it the game was just so empty. So much stuff they blatantly lied about, so many basics features that had become industry standard a decade and a half ago just not there. The world building and characters were great, but the gaming part wasn’t. It would’ve made for a great TV show or something. And ironically it was the Edgerunners anime and ensuing 1.5 update that begun to save the game. They added a lot. It was a game that was underwhelming for what it was hyped to be, but it became finally a pretty good game. I throughly enjoyed my playthrough. Although I didn’t finish it because 2.0 came out and absolutely changed the game. This update cannot be understated as it made this game go from good to one of my favorite games of all time. The DLC itself was phenomenal, there were actually choices you could make throughout the who thing, and more importantly they completely changed the gameplay and perks that were available. If this game came out at launch, it would’ve ran away with game of the year. Phantom Liberty saved what would’ve been the biggest disappointment in gaming history.
Wow thanks for the great comment. I actually regret not mentioning edgerunner impact on getting people to play Cyberpunk 2077 in this video but perhaps I’ll make a video about it. Thanks for your insight!
I really miss this game. It really could have used a 2nd DLC or more. They need to release a full mod kit ASAP. I know modders aren’t going to get Keanu or Idris Elba but with AI voice generation they could be extended (neglecting the legal aspect)
Got my PC, first thing I did was buy Cyberpunk again 😂 Best financial decision.. this game single handedly got me through this year, where unaliving myself was my daily option Songbird deserves a second chance.. the game too right? And me too next year
This is one of 3 games that had me HOOKED even on launch I thought the story was so good that I could look past all the half baked mechanics and jank since I’m a fan of Bethesda games(minus Starfield that shit fucking BLOWS) but CDPR is one of the best studios in all of gaming they are one of few developers that straight up will fight tooth and nail to make a game as good as it possibly can be before moving on!
all i want for this game is new game plus, i wanna replay it again but just with my stats and gear since i already played this game 4 other times. I still want to play this game more and more. Like all they could just do is make it where I have all my skill points and weapons and I'll be happy. Like I get the fact they want us to play every side content but i already beat the game so many times. I just wanna have fun at this point without needing to grind the game again
I wasn't even surprised that Cyberpunk tanked on release. People who learned from it are either new to gaming or very young. I was even fan of CD projekt trough Witcher but understanding capitalism and corporations I could not trust them.
This game is why I built a PC, when I saw that E3 demo I just knew the console version would either be a massive downgrade or run like shit if they tried to make it anything like the demo. it's a next gen game that should have never released on those old consoles
If you have the ps4 disc of cyberpunk you can play the launch version if you install the game while disconnected from the internet, I do this on my base ps4 whenever i feel like taking a trip down memory lane 😂
Bad ending for Phantom Liberty... that's no spoiler, all of them end badly for you, Songbird, Reed, Myers, Alex, and/or everyone involved. But I have to disagree. The game was far more immersive (and not as bad) prior to 2.1, heck, even prior to early patches like 1.3 (and there were some rather immersive/lore-firendly features that 2.0 took away... clothing mods, for example, because since 2.0 your "armor-plated jacket" is no longer even able to be armor plated "thanks" to people who stat-hunted instead of roleplaying and then complained that there is no transmog) than you give it credit for. And there were some very meaningful choices and being a d!ck to characters has consequences.
I bought phantom liberty when it came out and still haven’t played it. Played the base game all the way through on ps4 after launch, and I gotta tell you, it still bothers me so much I haven’t picked it back up.
Phantom Liberty proved CDPR can pull things off from the beginning, but I still don't trust them not to CDPR future games. I'll never have faith in them up front.
It was alright on pc at release. I think people had to realize that 4K gaming on a console between 8th gen into 9th gen consoles would have growing pains, red dead 2 on ps4 pro looked like hot garbage. Sure red dead 2 made my 2080 struggle but the trees didn’t look like cotton balls glued to toothpicks.
I'm still playing CP. It's such a good time, it's criminal not going back. But it's my first playthrough on tbe Steam Deck. Tell me why I'm logging in hours of game play as if I'm playing on my PS5 😅. 1 hour gameplay isn't enough
7:54 Your conclusion that there isn’t much accessible content about politicians/gangs/corpos that isn’t “set dressing” doesn’t sit well with me. Your Peralez intrigue example is an excellent example of mingling with the elite politicos. River’s story arc delves into Peralez’s election counterpart. Speaking of which, River Ward is a Detective, your look into law enforcement. Gangs? How about The Mox? Judy’s story puts you in the middle of the Tyger Claws control of the Joytoy club, Clouds. Not to mention the dark corner of XBDs rescuing Evelyn. The entire prologue is all intrigue between criminals and corpos, with you as the criminal underbelly. You then travel in the elite circle of Saburo’s personal bodyguard and daughter, Goro and Hanako. In addition, the entire Panam arc is a deep dive in the nomad culture. And then there’s all the Fixers you deal with, who have their fingers in all the pies, and give you a taste of each. I try to imagine what you could’ve meant by “set dressing”. Maybe you wanted more deep RPG stories. But everything I mentioned equals or surpasses the example of the Peralez intrigue you mentioned in complexity and depth. So I’m left confounded. My feeling is that it’s not a very good take on the interactions you have in this worlds.
I... actually prefer the base game much better than the DLC, I think it's the city setting, PL is just too destroyed, it's boring scenery compared to the rest of NC. The story is too.. spy based, I like V trying to save himself, not try to save some rando Netrunner. I dunno, I don't really enjoy PL that much, To me, 1.6 and 2.0 updates were peak patches, didn't need PL ahtough I don't hate it
I haven't commited to a playthrough of CP2077 since I completed the game when patch 1.5 came out, somewhere around 1.5 or 2 years ago. I haven't obtained or tried Phantom Liberty yet. I loved the game but felt that the brain dancing really hurt it. In my opinion, brain dancing sucked the big one, and it should have been taken out of the game completely. Sure, I figured out how to interact with the feature after a while, but I really disliked it. It's why I haven't come back to the game(yet). Obviously, I'm seriously considering jumping back in. that's why I'm here.

I also missed Songbird and Reed, even more than I missed other characters in Cyberpunk with the exception of Johnny.
Phantom Liberty is CDPR at it's best.
I also like Phantom Liberty more than the main campaign! Such a special game.
Great video - enjoyed that, and I am feeling like I need to jump in after a long break. Next big thing will be KCD 2 - mark my words!
Thanks, I hope KCD 2 is great!!
The most unnecessary feature in Cyberpunk 2077 is fast travel lol. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for watching! Glad the video resonated with you. CDPR just know how to tell a great story… can’t wait to see what’s next!

Honestly it’s the only game I keep coming back hundreds, if not thousands of hours into it. I just started a new play through and finding multiple new things I never saw before. It’s a beautiful game.
So good!
1000% agree with your low points!! Absolutely love this game but there were many times I felt my what my character said didn’t match the choice I just selected 🤣
CP is utterly unique in experience. This is singular and phenomenal. A true masterpiece.
There is simply nothing else like it until the sequel comes out.
first time playing through face in the crowd ending left me in awe for half an hour. I also made it when i've had best standing with Jonny, that made it even more impactful. That really shows in practice the meaning of a phrase "Here, for folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people."
Truly masterful writing...
One year later, still amazing and aged like fine wine

Holy shit, has it already been a year? I'm still playing this as if it were brand new!
I started playing Cyberpunk just a few weeks ago, very happy I waited it out!
Hope you are enjoying it!
I have 948.6 hours according to Steam in Cyberpunk 2077. And that tells everything.
WOW!
Your criticism is so on point and for that I think I may revisit the game just for Phantom Liberty.
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
100% well said
nice to see a fellow South African doing video essays on games
Thank you! Gotta represent 🇿🇦
Thanks for watching! Phantom liberty also clicked with me more than the base campaign...
PS: I just checked your other videos... Is it your first channel? So many hits already and interesting videos. You are going to be huge! Congrats ;). Sub 1000 new subscriber. I was there ^^.
I am starting to think it’s time for my next play-through as well haha!
@@Trench-coat Man, i can't believe it is your first channel ;p. You're very good at it. And no doubt you'll grow like crazy if you continue like that. I'll go back and enjoy your previous videos too. And for your next playthrough, i can suggest you my main build: the tech master of none: basically boost tech to 20 for chain lightning and edgerunner, still use a cyber deck with lots of control hacks, and everything else to 15 for maximum playstyle options.
You can do that!? Damn I restarted the whole game with different life path 🤣
@@adambasri3397 Yes you can. You have to turn on cloud saves on whatever system you played on then send it to you GOG account.

That’s awesome! Congrats on the PC.
@@Trench-coat thanks man, pretty good video btw
Lets hope we get to learn more about V's fate in the sequel!
Phantom liberty gave me some massive highs, multiple pumches straight to the feels.
And put the fear of god in me during somewhat damaged.
Somewhat damaged was terrifying lol
@@Allknowingkeith glad you are enjoying it. It’s an incredible game worth replaying a few times!
I gotta shoutout my friend who put me on to this masterpiece telling me it’s the best game he’s ever played now I’ve finally finished it I can happily agree with it genuinely one of the most engaging games I’ve ever played and thankfully only started it after 2.1 so I had the perfect first run
Now that is what I call a great friend!
It truly is a one of a kind experience!
Well done video, you got a follow from me. PL is one of the best expansions since Blood & Wine. It's deep, masterfully written/acted and more importantly thought provoking. Which IMO is the highest praise you can give to PC game.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you!!!
I found the Ragnarok video and started watching other videos. This guy deserves more subscribers
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I started with Yotei. Already subscribed, and agree with You. Great work.
When Cyberpunk released my computer was nowhere near capable of running it unfortunately, but I was so hyped for it that I decided to do something I'd never done before:
I completely isolated myself from cyberpunk.
Great point! Never thought of it that way... thanks!
PS. Instant sub fella. Great work.
Wow thanks! Appreciate it. Always trying to get better for every person that subs.
Night City feels more real than the actual city I live in (Denver).
I never expected to add 250 game hours to the 150 I had pre-PL. But multiple runs, multiple choices and there you have it.
I replay very few games but Cyberpunk is a must!!
BTW I''ve still yet to go netrunner. Might do it.
@@BigBoneESB it’s totally worth it!
I will always trust CD Projekt Red because they always make sure the writing in their games is always at the very top of what’s most important. That’s what gives life to these characters. That’s what keeps people engaged. The rest of the stuff is easy to do when the story has been meticulously crafted and tied together.
I totally agree. The writing staff at CDPR are next level!
I would be careful with trusting them now, since they hired a shitload of woke activists lately. CP2077 might just be their last good game. I hope I'm wrong.
How this game became my favourite game of all time surprises even me.
It surprised me with how much I ended up loving it as well!
Don’t compare cyberpunk to that junk
Still my favorite game of all time to this day
"Could have told me. Would have helped anyway."
"Preem. She made it. That's what counts."
Sums it up for me, really.
💔💔💔💔
Not buying into a game's promotional hype and avoiding pre-ordering a game is still good advice.
I agree - never pre order.
I casually bought this game in January and have not played anything else so far. Best game ever hands down.
So good...
Cynosure lab robot... so tense and brilliant. and SCARY
That was so freaking scary! Hated and loved every minute of it.
I am still replaying phantom liberty and I never get tired of it. Best games of all time besides Witcher 3.
It's such a great game! Thanks for watching.
Someone finally gets me...
CDPR is my favorite game studio, I believe they learned their lesson with Cyberpunk initial launch disaster and will ensure this does not happen in future, it gives a very good hope for Witcher 4
All I hope for is that they release The Witcher 4 when it's ready and not a moment earlier.
The good people who made that game happen are gone , dei hires are a priority now , it will be s h i t e...
I love this game! and the plot for Phantom Liberty for me was Escape From New York.
I have a very powerful laptop now, and damn it looks fucking incredible. I couldnt hit more than 40 fps with minimum, and now, I understand ray tracing and thank god for modders, its a whole new experience

Even back in 2020, it was a fantastic game.... Sure it had some bugs, but it was still great....
Had a good foundation but it was in an unacceptable state on release…
Unless you tried to run it on PS4...
i preordert the game and was 1 of the lucky ppl that had next to no bugs of any sort from day 1. i loved this game even in its launch-state so much.
Yeah it’s now one of my favourite games of all time…
They fixed it before phantom liberty. Granted I’m a PC gamer.

I cried too bro. I cried too😢
been w/CP since launch on Series X (so i didn’t experience too bad of performance) .. while it was undercook on what was promised i still enjoyed the base game especially for its story but gameplay left more to be desired … then 2.0 dropped + Phantom Liberty & it’s become one of my favs of all time.
@@Trench-coat really?! Oh shit, we’re in the GREAT hands then
I think a big part of the historic redemption of Cyberpunk is detailing how genuinely bad it was.

I totally understand where you're coming from! A New Game Plus mode would definitely make replaying the game more enjoyable.
@@Teeheehee093 I totally agree!
If you have the ps4 disc of cyberpunk you can play the launch version if you install the game while disconnected from the internet, I do this on my base ps4 whenever i feel like taking a trip down memory lane 😂
That’s actually so funny
Sadly, people will still pre order and not care so the issues that come with that will never go away :/
Well... This game was always awesome. Now it is better.
I bought phantom liberty when it came out and still haven’t played it. Played the base game all the way through on ps4 after launch, and I gotta tell you, it still bothers me so much I haven’t picked it back up.
I felt the same way... trust me phantom liberty is worth playing!
Phantom Liberty proved CDPR can pull things off from the beginning, but I still don't trust them not to CDPR future games. I'll never have faith in them up front.
I think that’s totally fair. My advice is never pre order.
But hey if a 2080 at the time was 800 bucks what could a $500 console expect to compare to.

You get lost in the world… hours fly by!
And then there’s all the
Fixers you deal with, who have their fingers in all the pies, and give you a taste of each.
Lucky for you there is zero brain-dancing in phantom liberty! Enjoy the experience bro.
