One interesting bit of lore from Phantom Liberty, in the notes for Songbird when you're getting a briefing from Reed and Alex and viewing the contents of a shard they give you to slot, you can see entries regarding the Blackwall that state Netwatch fabricated the story that they were the ones who created the Blackwall. They take credit for it, but they lie. Nobody actually knows where the Blackwall came from 😮
I can see a point where Biotechnica's Cloning project intersects with Arasaka's Relic program as well as Militech's Neural Mesh in order to create "avatars" for various rogue AI's.
You guys are watching a video on UA-cam using a device built by a corporation running on internet provided by a corporation and commenting about a game made by a corporation

Human uploading and human AI hybrid conciousnesses have been a central part of the setting since the first example module. They are also a cornerstone of the genre. Snowcrahs, GitS, Deus Ex all had it as their final twist.
The events of No Coincidence take place around before you and Jackie go to the all foods plant as DumDum is a big character in that story… So I wonder if there’s any N54 news clips or radio dialogue that talks about the events

What I don't udnerstand about the Old Net in Cyberpunk lore - it's not some "magic" cyberspace that exists outside the realm of humans. It's computers. Servers. Data-centers. If they are physically isolated, disabled or destroyed, Old Net is no more. Rogue AI is no more. "Invaluable data" seems like a plot device. With the computing power and ever-growing capabilities of the megacorps, most of this data could have been replicated ten times over...
The old net probably exists across distributed botnets sequestered in a billion random hobo's old cyberware. In abandoned soviet arctic research stations, in decomissioned comsats. Sure, you can destroy the old server farms, but I dont think thats an obstacle for maintaining a decentralized network.
@lif6737 yes, this does make sense. However, I can't imagine all this stuff not requiring a LOT of computing power to facilitate the AIs. Don't believe it's so hard to pinpoint and deal with. Bunkers also don't have an infinite power supply, and all tech, including hypothetical nuclear powerplants which may be poweing said bunkers, needs maintainance. A lot of it. The Old Net is either cared for by sufficiently wealthy, tech-savvy groups, or it will slowly die.
I think of the Old Net as a foundation for the modern day framework of the whole net. Much like how in our real world governments and billion dollar companies use old software because it was reliable so all future data system became tied to this old software. One change to the old software and it could cause a butterfly effect on banks, transportation, satellites, communications..
The way it was explained to me is you'd have to destroy every computer that can connect to the net and only then could you add an uncompromised comp otherwise it would be compromised. The botnet is all encompassing and pretty much always reinfecting new comps
Just finished the audiobook No Coincidence read (acted) by Fem V's marvelous VA Cherami Leigh. It's excellent and fittingly bleak. No spoilers, I loved it.
I didn't realize that there was an audiobook version of this! I bought the physical one right when it came out with the intent to rad it right away, but got a bit busy, and only finished it around a month ago. It's a really interesting book and a great look into a unique and intriguing scenario in Night City. Great video as always!
Something very similar happened with me, I pre-ordered it and all. Got half way through, then postponed finishing it for months. Glad I finally did, but must admit trying to summarize it well was difficult with all the perspective shifts. Which is why I was so afraid of making this video LOL. Thanks for the support choom, maybe we could do a live stream sometime.
I really can't wait for project orion, the lore can expand in such a cool way with the ai war set up. I hope theres even more in depth immersion elements because night city already feels like one of the most lived in game settings without as many.
After watching through the video i think the theory that V is a hybrid consciousness working at the behest of either Night Corp or Militech checks out. Their memory is noted as spotty by Jackie and Claire, the point about the heist being unavoidable despite people like myself who weren't even spoiled on the story smelling how fishy the job was from miles away as if V was hypnotically compelled to do it. Edit: i realized V is almost assuredly a hybrid AI consciousness even in the tower ending. V says something that really does encapsulate Militech "they dont forgive, they don't forget" they KILLED Meredith if she fails her job to find the convoy and they sent a hit squad after Lt Mower after her loyal service and subsequent cyberpsychotic break. So if V knows too much about project cynosure or helped Songbird incite an international incident, why did they save them? Because the Neural Matrix wasn't just used to isolate and neutralize the engram but also to further the research into controlling hybrid consciousness and winning the war brewing in cyberspace. V's track record would make them a valuable winter soldier as stated in another theory, so Militech not only gets control over Adam Smasher's superior but the ability to possibly extend this level of control to other subjects. The neural matrix to contain and control AI, the relic to inject AI personality constructs, these two things in tandem would give Militech the ability to dominate the battlefield in both real and cyberspace.
Also, no one knows V. In the Corpo Path, no one knows you since "long ago". In the Streetkid Path, Padre only says he worked with you years ago. In the Nomad Path, the nomads that argue with Garry the Prophet recognize you, but don't seem that much. Also, in the opening of the Nomad Path you talk with a friend from your former tribe, but we don't know him, and as far as a I played, didn't see him.
Given how extensive and far-reaching the Nightcorp/Mr. Blue conspiracy is, the AI may have already won a shadow war and already quietly control human society.
I was surprised to see a lot of discussion on people not enjoying the read. I think it was primarily because of the perspective shifts. I loved the new Lore and the stories of each character though!
Watching this 2 months from being uploaded, on BBC news 12th August, they mentioned that people can use AI to grieve their loved ones. There was a clip of a korean lady, wewring a vr headset, with her daughter (digital) in front of her, her daughter died at a young age, so this AI used data gathered from the young girl, to show how she woild look when older, and with the voice as well, she would be essentially be meeting her daughter in the virtual realm. I think its already happening, we know how to use AI to form a "personality", layer it with audiovisual interaction to help people "grieve better." Im aorry but its quite insane, it should not be uses for that reason, im auee theres better things to do, humanity is such a paradox.
I was waiting for a video about no coincidence to be made by someone like you, thank you fr. No hate to other creators but other videos about no coincidence aren't as good as this
Though that's not the only mystery in [No_Coincidence] as Aya's adopted daughter, a seemingly autistic child who appeared to show more interest in her tablet computer, suddenly joined Maelstrom at the end and somehow possessed enough clout/knowledge to order a group of them to stop firing their weapons at Aya and Zor......that's still weird to me......
This is just speculation, but Maelstrom was looking for someone capable of housing the body of a rogue ai, to the point of carrying out rituals with their own most prominent members, sacrificing them to the ai's they felt the most connection to. They were/are in fact, closer than the Voodoos in full on communion with one. The little girl could be a character we see again in Orion.
Someone clarify the Lore for me, when maelstrom was trying merge human with the AI Lilith was it trying to do the same thing or am I way off base here? Maybe I just need to watch the video all the way through through. 😅
