Yep he actually praises them for marketing his songs. Unlike the Eagles who are going after reactors.
@gregstilwell7760 yeah Ren welcomes it, UA-cam however doesn’t. Ren has been working with UA-cam to solve this issue though, that’s why you don’t see very many blurred reactions to his music, but pausing does give the reactor time to digest what they are watching.
From what I understand, he wrote the first 2 songs after reading an article about a very young man murdering a young woman in London, he didn't write "Violet's Tale" until a few years later and that one was of his own making. He said that there are 2 songs so far that he wrote, that he knew in his gut were special. "Hi Ren" (of course) and "Violet's Tale". (He was right on both counts imo.)
Screech killed his sister... they never met. When Violet passed they were split apart and went to separate foster homes where the cycles of violence continued. Jenny was silent like her mother, James (Screech) was abusive like his father. It really is a tough story but one that should be talked about to help break these cycles!!!
The tale tells its self clearly. The good reactors nail it. Reactors like this are just lost.
So disappointing. You can actually visually see it go right over their heads. Hate reactions where they totally miss it.

For lighter, even joyful, Ren, I recommend watching him perform with his band, The Big Push. I really enjoy the reggae medley "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/ Hip Hop." They shot it while busking in Brighton and it's gorgeous!

Ren has a ton of positive and upbeat songs, I would recommend his band's cover of Bongo Bong, as well as many others already suggested by others here.

It appears she didn't. If she did, she would've commented on it. Twins Jenny and Screech aligned side by side at birth and death. Violet was their mother.

A really brilliant reaction to this wonderful piece of work , I felt you feeling every emotion throughout , beautifully done. You really need to listen to Ren in his band The Big Push doing " I Shot The Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop " ( not other version they do ) it is truly out of the world as is Chalk Outlines LIVE with Chinchilla ( also talking of Chinchilla her Live version of " Fingers " is off the scale ) .

Please, don't take this the wrong way, but I could not tell from your reaction if you realized the implication of the ending of this tale. Here is a quick summary of the trilogy. Violet's tale takes place in 2005 ("two-zero-zero-five"). She was sexually abused by her father, and her mother was an alcoholic. Violet subsequently ended up in an abusive relationship with a boy named “Stevie” which resulted in her death. Jenny and Screech (James) are the twins born to Violet 14 years earlier, likely separated at birth by social services. Fourteen years later (2019, when the first two parts were released), Jenny and Screech end up face to face on that fateful night, unaware that they are twin brother and sister. Screech tries to mug Jenny and ends up, unbeknownst to him, killing his twin sister. Screech flees and goes looking for his friend Patrick unsuccessfully, he tries to call his girlfriend to seek refuge, but she says no, before confronting and getting shot by police officer Richard one street over from where Jenny lies dead. Ren provided a backstory on the characters involved on Instagram, hinting that Patrick wasn't home because he was with Screech's girlfriend when Screech called her. This is a masterpiece of a tragedy.

This was, another enjoyable reaction. This trilogy is one more example of Ren's genius and a master's class in storytelling. It has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy. I would also recommend you check out Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla, "Chalk Outlines," "How to Be Me," and their busking sessions in Brighton. As for "Chalk Outlines," it is one of my favorite songs right now; it is beautiful yet sad and really showcases Ren's beautiful singing voice.
This was a horrible reaction. Idk what reactors you watch but this was lower than mediocre. But it's your opinion and your entitled to it
Wonderful heartfelt and honest reaction Leah! This trilogy is a real rollercoaster for the emotions, from the sublime guitar playing to the heart breaking tragedy of the tales themselves. Yes Ren does lots of lighter more upbeat music. Listen to him with his band The Big Push, there are some great cover mashups and original music. Notable are; I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop, Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so hard, War Pigs and Watch Out. There are also collaborations with Sam Tompkins such as Earned it/Man's World/Falling and Blind Eyed (MC Session for the best audio) and all that is not mentioning songs with Chinchilla or any of his other rap tracks. Lots to explore but not all heavy on the heart 🙂
You say that in the first 2 videos he was talking about his mind. In fact in Hi Ren, the major theme is about the human condition generally and how we ALL, as human beings, face these issues and that by accepting that darkness is part of our lives that can't be banished, we can begin to mitigate it's effects more effectively. Darkness is part of who we are and help shapes who we are, both negatively AND positively. :)
You don't need to worry about copyright claims with Ren. He never makes them. He likes reactors and has described it a 'a positive feedback loop' where they're helping him to grow and he's helping their channels to grow. He's even given a series of interviews to UA-cam reactors. Check out his interview/discussion with UA-cam reactor 'Rosalie'. It's amazing and really shows you Ren, the person. Btw, in the small chance that someone else tries to make a copyright claim against you reacting to a Ren video, just appeal it, Ren automatically strikes it down. :)
I love how he looks up at the staircase and sings "she never had a chance" it has an eery feel because of the natural accoustics of where he is.
As others have noted; for a song that highlights his singing I recommend Chalk Outlines. For a fun upbeat hip hop song I recommend What We Want

It's ironic that Jenny and Screech came into the world together, then left it together.
A detail of this performance that a lot of people I've watched react seem to overlook..
I am a twin myself, so this piece of art absolutely horrified me and left me feeling disgusted because I could never in my whole life, think I would ever be even remotely capable of killing my brother, he's my best friend, most avid supporter, ride or die person in my life, love him to death and just the thought of harming him kills me.
I really appreciate Ren for drilling that sentiment into my head, and I'll always be grateful for that.

Note to self... don't mess with the eye-gouging ball kicker! Now, it's funny because I saw a video awhile back with an Army Ranger talking about a Spartan fighting technique that was something like "disorient, disable, destroy" using most of the tactics you mentioned, in the "destroy" part of it, he was actually pretty nice as he had a fairly simple maneuver that pops the ankle out in a way that nobody could chase, but they could be easily put back whole by a doctor (of course that was after the throat and eyes, so not all that nice). Hopefully you never need ANY defense technique! Keep in mind, men are FAR more likely to be victims of violent crime on the streets (something like 10x).
Oh the song, my 100th listen or so, I knew that happy and bright smile you had in the beginning would fade. This is a masterpiece, but SO SO dark and sad.

Ren's lyrics are not clear at all about that, until the opening lines of Screech's Tale. I've seen many people fail to pick up on her death, and only one where the reactor makes clear that they understood Jenny's fate.
@@justinatest9456 I think it is quite clear, but you really have to pay attention. At the beginning of the song, he says that Jenny is trying to get home to sleep and also that she wants to escape. At the end, he says that she found a place to sleep (albeit an eternal rest) and that he hope she had escaped (albeit, not in the manner that had hoped). He was very clever in bringing both these things full circle. Also, it is rarely picked up on that Jenny is a lady of the night. She walks the streets in high heeled shoes. Some reactors pick up on this, but most don't.

@LeahReuben I was just poking a little fun. No offense intended. And you're right. It's a lot to process Ren's lyrics in one go. But "the statue she was turned to butter in a breath" shouted alarms at me immediately. And then "found a place to sleep" and "escaped" and "such a shame"...it's all very ominous and can really only mean terrible things imo.

Fight, Flight, Freeze & Fawn are the main 4 natural instinct reactions. Anyone can experience any at anytime depending on the situation, not everyone can always start with one instinct and (easily) change to another as the situation may change faster then instinct reactions kick in.
Of course, no one knows how they will actually react until it happens

I recommend, if you are ever in that horrible position of being mugged. If you can, a hard fast kick with the ball of your foot to the front of their knee. It will slow them down at worst or cripple them at best.

Ren tells the stories and the filming of the stories are all done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every country at this very moment and the cycle continues

Love this music parts 1,2 and 3. They don’t have to be listened to in any order they are just him having fun. Personally I like part 2 the best but they are all great.
If you’re looking for something lighter and completely different I’d recommend the song Humble. One of my favorites actually. He also has some less serious rap songs.

It almost hurt watching you react, it was like you were feeling everything. I'm actually glad you know how to handle yourself in such a situation, more women should. Some call it fighting dirty, I like to think of it as fighting like a girl and have made sure every woman and girl I love knows how, partly because you are also right that the guys who beat their partners would never try that with a guy. As I found out after asking a few such guys if they would like to try that with me. They never do.

The guys who beat their wives and girlfriends, often saw their mother beaten and they were beaten themselves. The irony being that they hated their father for beating their mother, then fall into the same pattern and beat their wives and girlfriends. It's a cycle of violence that repeats itself. Just like the girls who were in a dysfunctional home, looking for a guy who has the same awful traits.
It's always very hard to "hate the sin and love the sinner." We want to hate the sin and hate the sinner. We should have no sympathy for his actions, but still want to redeem him, as a person. He likely didn't start out this way, but learned it.

Lighter yes Ren does lighter. May I recommend his rap retake of Fisher's "losing it" or his rap retake of "Bittersweet Symphony" (the latter was so loved by one of the original members of the Verve that they sent him a guitar)

Tons of lighter music, the more popular ones that most will mention aren't light. If you like Rap, I would suggest "Losing It (Fisher retake)", "What You Want, or "Genesis"... less rap-py the song "Humble" W/ Eden Nash is quite interesting. The deeper you go the more you'll see that he's truly able to deliver ANY type of music with extreme skill.
EDIT, just looked at your vids, tons of Rap, well if you've got the ear for it, the doubles, the "bars", flows, etc... LOSING IT is the one, I would never deceive you!
In Jenny‘s tail, I’m pretty sure he’s implying that Jenny was a prostitute. When he says things like, she wanted to escape, can you blame? Also that she’s walked the floor thousand times before and she was wearing high heels.

I get frustrated with some reactions when it's missed how he describes Jenny....why would a 14 year old be walking the same street a 1000 times, in high heel shoes? Almost no one seems to catch that. Also, for "Screech's Tale", it seems that almost no one catches that Screech's girlfriend and his friend Patrick, happen to be "busy", or not available, at the same time. Consider why. Maybe they were together? Patrick wasn't home...was he with Screech's girl at her place and that's why she was "busy"? It adds a whole other layer to the story. Also consider that Jenny and Screech were born side by side, and essentially died side by side, one street apart. Born on the same day (2005), died on the same day (2019). An entire family, mother and twins that never knew each other, wiped out by a cycle of violence. An abused mother, a 14 year old prostitute, and a 14 year old thug/murderer. Powerful stuff. Not sure if you caught it or not, but he did all 3 songs in a single take each, just like "Hi Ren". In "Violet's Tale", the way he uses the acoustics of his environment to accentuate the song is absolute brilliance. The man is truly special.
It is so deep- I feel like you defo have to watch it more than once to get all the little details- it was a lot trying to take in three different ones especially when they are so dark

How does a 16 yo girl get a semi detached council flat paid for by a welfare scheme? Was she pregnant by her father? are Jenny and Screech not just twins but borne of incest was Stevie's rage come from jealousy & insecurity? Was she pregnant when he met her took advantage of her roof and moved in but was jealous of the unborn that wasn't his? I don't know how welfare works in UK but it seems plausible to get a job & a flat if this was her situation.

He was pointing out the cycle of abuse and neglect leading to wasted lives as the result of Violet’s lifelong trauma was giving birth to two twins, one of whom became a thief and a murderer the other of whom became a prostitute, a streetwalker, in case you didn’t pick up on that. Why do you think she was tired of her life and wanted to escape- because she didn’t like working in a pet shop anymore? Please listen to the whole song again the whole trilogy again I mean.
