I hope Ren knows how incredibly happy we all are that he was able to claw his way out of the deep, deep cavern in which he found himself. His ability to share his journey has to be helpful for those millions who are still in their cave of pain or suffering. I hope Ren is eventually able to fully experience life with less focus on his health journey.. I wish him continued health improvement.. and peace of mind!

But u not wrong about the young lad Ren, he’s got a wise head on them shoulders and can put across emotions with his words at ease.
He’s got some lovely tunes but `suicide’ broke my heart and had me balling like a baby 😢 but I can’t only relate when he sings of the meds he was on 👍 not good for us 👍

    • @Mhantrax
      @Mhantrax 6 місяців тому +14

While it is not a miracle, nor a fix all, if you are suffering from chronic illnesses or pain, there are a great many chronic problems in our society that are attached to our food and eating patterns.
I am 52 years old. I used to have horrific wheezing from asthmatic reactions after mowing half a yard. I had joint pain, would have to stop and catchy breath after running up 7 stairs, was prediabetic and had such bad, "allergies," that I missed work 3-4 times per year with lung inflammation that got so bad I would need steroids to reduce the swelling.
Well, it turns out almost all of this is from a general inflammatory response from my body. A few things seem to combine to cause this: very high insulin resistance is probably the number one contributor. This is usually from eating too frequently (6 small meals per day is snacks is horrific advice) and eating too many carbohydrates, specifically sugar, which is hidden in almost all ultra processed food, but sugared drinks and juices are the worst. Straight to the liver with no protection (fiber and fat can slow down absorbtion).
Another reason for inflammation in our bodies is leaky gut syndrome. The smooth muscles in our digestive system become, "loose fitting," allowing small particles to cross into our blood stream. The body recognizes it and attacks, as is its job. What happens when the body sends out it's soldiers? Inflammation.
      In short:
      1. Ditch sugary drinks and juices.
      2. Eat whole, real foods. If it is in a box, don't do it.
      3. Reduce carbohydrates significantly. Fat is actually important and the low fat diet is dead wrong. No fat? No hormones telling you that you are full. No fat high carbs? Too much insulin production, cells start ignoring the insulin signals, pancreas creates more insulin to compensate, which is ignored further. Insulin is the, "store fat," hormone. And not just butt or belly fat, but fat storage around the liver and organs. That's what's deadly.
      4. Fast. I know this terrifies people, but allowing your insulin level to drop for a long period of time is extremely healthy. It takes a few weeks, but your body can become fat adapted, which means it learns to easily switch to fat burning for energy once all of the glucose from your diet and stores in your muscles is consumed. Don't worry about, "not enough glucose," your body makes what it needs from burning the fat (gluconeogenesis). Start checking out Intermittent Fasting, a few 36 hours fast maybe a 3 day fast a few times per year. But DO eat your full calories for the day when you eat your, say, two meals. Maybe a few hundred cores less than normal is ok, but only eating 1000 calories in your eating days will damage your resting metabolism.
      Read:
Dr Jason Fung - The Obesity Code for a fantastic beginner breakdown of all of this.
Dr Robert Lustig - very deep discussion of the mechanisms if you like the super deep science. Well written though. Friendly. "Feed the gut, protect the liver."
p.s. Ren speaks of microbiome and disbiosis. You can heal this as well after fasting for 36 hours or more. Start with some grass fed bine broth (grass fed because you need the billions of natural bacteria, fungi etc from a cow eating naturally), then an hour later eat fermented food like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir or Greek yogurt (full fat plain). An hour later eat some greens, asparagus, other veggies as this is good for the new bacteria settling in your gut.
Don't let our society take away the rest of your life and convince you that you are meant to suffer forever!
All of those things I mentioned before? Gone. Sure, a few odd ball human things crop up. My elbow still has pain after a scooter accident, I got a real sickness for the first time in two years since starting this. But overall, I feel better than I have since my early 30s. During the summer I went out in 95 degree weather and chain sawed the overgrown hedges for 45 minutes, went in and drank some water, then took a mile run. Before just waking out to the car in 95 degree weather would have tortured me. But my metabolic system is healed and it has transformed getting older doesn't mean we are destined for all of these breakdowns. It's our food. It's the sugar. It's the ultra processed food full of too many cheap useless carbs (fiber removed, sugar added) and poor quality fat. Don't take my word for it, I'm just a dude telling my story. Do some research. If you want UA-cam videos, one guy does university level teaching about the basics of body biochemistry and all of this, Sten Eckberg.

@@Mhantraxjust a mention of thanks for your input. Would it be good for people to start with a 18 hour fasting and 6 hours (12pm -6pm) of eating to assimilate? Otherwise would love you to spread this as a possibility for others to explore as a option.

When I first heard the Seven Sins song it had me in tears after the first verse. Now I know why. I went through something very similar. About 13 years ago I went to my doctor because I was in a lot of pain. He ran tests, referred me to someone else, who referred me to someone else, & so on. It kind of felt like playing the telephone game. One doctor told me it was all in my head, just post partum. Another accused me of being an addict. So I stopped going. About 4 months later I had a mass in my neck that looked like I had a golf ball right under my skin. But the last few doctors I'd seen had been so terrible, I refused to go in. It wasn't until I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I was having a heart attack. I lucked out with the doctor in the ER that night. When he ruled out heart attack he didn't just send me home. I ended up having cancer, & it had gone untreated for so long & grown so much, he told me I only had 3 to 5 years left to live. I'm very lucky that I am blessed enough to have been able to watch my kids grow up. So anyone who is suffering like that, or the way Ren did, PLEASE advocate for yourself. Doctors are not always right.

Thank you Ren. Strangely, I looked into Ren because I have an adult son named Ren. I sent my son the “Hi Ren” video kind of in a joking manner. But as I listened to his music I thought it was amazing. Then when I heard about his story I became even more intrigued. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease 9 years ago, and like Ren, my body couldn’t fight it off. I became extremely sick. I eventually found myself at the Mayo Clinic where a neurologist diagnosed me with Autonomic Neuropathy, MCAS, Hyperadrenergic POTS, Erythromelalgia (man on fire syndrome), and Hyper-mobile EDS. I’m super blessed that my husband is a Naturopathic Doctor. He’s the one that discovered I had Lyme disease and he’s the one who figured out, after my health crashed, that I needed to go to the Autonomic clinic at the Mayo Clinic for testing. Most Conventional Doctors in Arizona, where I live, don’t believe Lyme disease exists in Arizona. And my husband has patients who came to him after they went to other doctors after testing positive and the doctor’s don’t even believe Lyme disease is real. The lack of knowledge and understanding about Lyme disease in the medical world is insane. I’m much better, thanks to my husband, but some of the damage is permanent. I’ll always have “Man on Fire syndrome” and Hyperadrenergic POTS with extreme blood pooling in my lower legs and feet. It could definitely be worse, Anyway, thanks for sharing your story and bringing more awareness about Lyme disease to the world.

Ren, my husband has had viral-onset chronic fatigue syndrome since 2020 (maybe COVID maybe not we don’t know because it was before the tests were even available). He was bedridden for 2 years and the last year he was finally regaining some independence. Then a month ago, not long after his 30th birthday, we found out he has cancer (unrelated to the chronic fatigue). Now he’s going through chemotherapy on top of trying to manage his chronic fatigue. I currently battle 5 autoimmune disorders and if on the rare occasion I find myself not experiencing pain, brain fog, and extreme fatigue, I will be hyper-aware of my body, hear my own heart beat, how I'm breathing, worry, feel anxious and sometimes think I'm dying. I can’t play anything or sing but I enjoy music immensely, especially Ren’s music, it calms my body but stimulates my brain. It gives me a reason to sit in peace and absorb. It sends my thoughts in every direction but keeps me calm. Amazing! Thank you!

This was great, Ren seems to be a gift as an interviewee - he gives such full answers and really engages. While Zack gave space for Ren's replies (you don't often find that). I really enjoyed the discursive element of the interview. Zack and Dan are interesting people (have just read up on them - I'm from the UK so I sorry I hadnt heard of them before) I will definately check out this show again - intelligent and interesting, thank you.☮

Ren is just such a breath of fresh air. I’m so grateful that he has shared his life and music with us. Humility exudes from his pores. I hope the demonic music industry never gets a hold of him…he does not need it! Us Renegades will be with him until the very end, which hopefully is MANY years from now! Great interview, guys! ❤
