- Hey and Welcome to all. This video is the first of many showing the journey towards my Private Pilot's License. I hope you can join me and spread the word about my channel. I am very excited and I am fulfilling a life-long dream ever since I was 3 years old. Any constructive criticism is appreciated! All is filmed in Santa Monica, California, USA at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport.

So glad you had a good time on the discovery flight! You're right about one thing though - learning to fly is a journey. It's not a quick thing...not something you'll master after a lesson or two. It's a hobby, yeah, but one that can kill you (and others!) easily if you're the incautious type. Flying requires a huge commitment. That's not to say it'll take over your life...but it might ;) There are SO MANY things to learn! At some point, you *will* say to yourself, "How am I supposed to learn all this crap!" But trust me, it's not rocket science - learn, you will. And have fun, you will! At least I hope so. Keep us updated!

Driving can kill you. Drinking too much water can kill you. Don't live your life worrying about what can kill you and just enjoy it cause you only get to do it once.

Did my discovery flight last April after 1 year of waiting. Now after highschool this year i'm going for my career in aviation.

I started power paragliding and skydiving. Going for my introductory flight at Meriden airport in CT November 29th 11:30am I can't wait

That’s great! If it gets frustrating at any point that’s ok. It takes time and it’s like learning an instrument. Keep at it

I made my flight when I was 19 and in the Air Force. I enjoyed it, but money was the problem. I didn't even have a car at the time. My lack of finances decided I'd stay on the ground.
Very cool! I have a similar dream from when I was a very young child, but it's to fly a helicopter, not planes. Maybe your progress will inspire me to act on it! Good luck getting your license!

How did you feel during your intro flight? On mine today the instructor had me do so much I felt overwhelmed almost. Speed heading altitude rpms traffic.
Dan G it is very overwhelming and things seem to go so fast you cannot comprehend. The more you fly, over time, the easier it becomes. I had days where I wanted to throw in the towel. But I got back into it. See it more like training for a marathon than a short sprint. There are some days where I was up in the air with my instructor and I told him to take over for me because I was too exhausted. That is all very normal and goes away. Stick with it if you like it 😎 check in with me anytime

I have to say Rick you are becoming a daredevil . You are riding a motorcycle to flying an airplane. What is the name of the song and who sing the song in your video. The song was was beautiful in you piece. Thanks for you help.

I'd much rather hear what the cfi is saying to you. This video didn't need music and fast forward. This is not instructional.
That would be betraying this techniques and tips as an instructor. One should learn from the instructor, not from a video, trust me
@@ricknineg Rick, it's not betraying anyone . I know how to fly but it's good to hear different instructors methods so people can know what to expect from an introductory flight . I recently saw a video like that and it was refreshing to hear the dialogue between the cfi and the fresh student. I'm a musician and I like to listen to various different teachers . You can never stop learning.
I totally get you. My CFI requested I dont use his dialogue or speech in anyway but his image was ok. So I had to respect that for him.
@@ricknineg ok, I understand my friend. Do you have the Microsoft flight 2020? I'm still using fsx and I think real planes are easier to control than the ones on fsx. The graphics are lousy as well. If you have 2020, what kind of computer do you use? Thanks, Paul.
