no matter what kind of day i may be having. the sound of the birds then your voice mr chan on your video instantly a feeling of calm over over comes me. thank you peter
Thanks for the great video, Peter! I was out checking on one of my Japanese Wisteria the other day amd thanks to one of your videos, I realised it will bloom next year. I was so happy I had to stop myself from jumping up and down! Now I want one of those Copper Bark Cherries
Beautiful wisterias indeed Peter. I planted 3 chinensis wisterias long ago and trained them as one niwaki with the help of a bamboo stick,,😂😂🌹🌿. Thx for sharing and stay safe to all..cheers.
Beautifull wisterias I have 2 in my garden one big and the other one is a bonsaï flowering twice a year. You said nothing about the marvellous perfume of it. Thank you for your vidéos they help to progress.
Yes! A video for Wisterias, been growing a few for a few years now and haven't know what to do with them. It would be great if there was one for Judas trees.
I felt bad for the struggling cherry consumed by the wisteria vines, but the images of the cascading blooms made the cherry's sacrifice understandable.
Just in time. Interestingly, I just have a wisteria that is 2 weeks old. I planted the seed and it sprouted. It only has about 6 leaves, but this video was very informative as to what to expect.
The first bonsai I ever made from nursery stock is a wisteria... Its now about 7 or 8 years old and still doing well... When it flowers the scent is amazing... 👍👍
So much knowledge and experience 🙏.... Thank you for your time on making these videos... How about Ginko Biloba bonsais/trees would you care to make a video of those multi porpuse resistant trees??? Best regards from Switzerland
Absolutely stunning. In video . You don't realize how long the flowers are until you tell us how long they are or tree trunk. Truly Amazing what you have in your nursery. ☺☺☺☺👧
Those are beautiful! I'm growing 3 different color Wisterias from seeds. They are about 18 inches high right now and I can start to train them up the trunk of a Ficus tree. I have seen many that are considered invasive but never got any cuttings to "take". Will be several years before I see significant results.
Beautiful property! One good thing from the pandemic is the lack of flyovers during the video. Could really enjoy the wisteria by the pond and birds chirping.
I used to be one of these people who didn't believe in plants from Asia. Now I feel differently. I believe now in getting a mix of native and non native and so long as the plant is not invasive and or you control it it's fair game. Many Asian plants benefit British wildlife greatly. Buddlieas are non native but butterflies love them, there are many examples. The more I learn from yourself and others the more my horizons are broadened
The Southern United States would not be half as sweet if it were not for the wonderful wandering wisteria!! Much obliged to the contribution from Asia! 🤩
Got a couple at my front yard which is about 30+ years old, trained to stand alone, blooming every October here in New Zealand. Have you every train Pieris Japonica as bonsai and do they dies easily as i have no luck with them? Keep up the good work Peter, cheers.
So wonderful, I love Wisteria 💚 unfortunately my 25 years old Chinese Wisteria had only one flower this year, caused by late harsch weather and my pink and white didn’t bloom at all because I gave them a cut back and set sail for growth this year ☹️ I cannot wait for next year to see all those beautiful flowers again 🙏🏻
peter chan thank you 👍🏻 I’ll try rose fertilizer, hopefully I’ll get a nice blossoming season next year 🙂 this year all my Wisteria, including the one I’ve started in 1995 are just growing heavily but no flowers 🤷🏻♂️
Hello Peter, I am in awe of your work and knowledge thus far. Your commentaries are easy to remember and have applied your tips etc. I recommend people watch your vids and subscribe. Can you kindly tell me if grafted Wisteria is required for good bonsai? I am just about to buy online non-grated Floribunda and Senensis in 100mm pots. They also have Royal Purple, Longissima and Violacea Plena. Are these 3 good for bonsai? I live on the East Coast of Australia and we are in Summer 2nd December. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks,
Hello Mr. Chan - thank you for all your informative and helpful videos! They have raised my interest in bonsai and now I'd like to try and see, if this is something for me. Not sure, if this is the right place to ask, but I'm looking to try and make a medium sized bonsai from a common Hibiscus syriacus. Do you perhaps have a tutorial for that plant online?
Beautiful plant. Would you recommend defoliation for wisteria, whether full or partial? (For branch development, I know it may hamper the next season’s flowering)
I have a wisteria growing up somr dead spruce trees. I hsve to cut it back severely every year becsuse I don't want it in my flowering dogwood. However I do love the wisteria for the flowers and scent.
I wish I was in UK. I will come to your nursery someday; you have lovely plants. I am in USA and just started a small bonsai collection. I’m learning a lot from you. Thank you!
II really liked this video. I am growing 2 wisteria from seed . That is all I got from 10 seeds I planted. They are only two and half to three months old. They have very tiny leaves. Any pointers on how to train them in Canada.
If anyone wants a less invasive species, if you wanna consider it that, there is the American wisteria. It grows a little slow and flowers around mid summer.
Hi, Peter. I am curious about pot sizes? I can customize cement pots to whatever I want, no matter how big or small! I most of the time make round pots. I have noticed from video a lots of people use deep square pots. Later own they have to spread the roots and cut away the feeder roots, i do under stand that. How can i make garden pots simple for your own pleasure in your garden? You may want to sale them who knows. Would you give me an idea of how i can make a custom pot or pots, to make a forest. I can make in multiple parts and lots of shapes, custom for who ever wants. Will someone send me there one pot garden of eden, even if its like a jig saw puzzle i can do.
There is an American Wisteria I think it's called the Kentucky Wisteria. It isn't as fast growing and isn't considered invasive. I have seen them at walmart the last couple years, just for example. I hope that helps you
I swear buy tomato feed but an organic alternative which I’m about to try myself is making a comfrey liquid feed and perhaps a mix with enettle; Peter have you

I bet it is so aromatic walking through your garden when all of it is in bloom. I know I loved my Wisteria and the fragrance.
It does not get any more beautiful than wisterias in bloom
What a beautiful white wisteria, the long blooms are fantastic. It looks like a fairy tale.
Thanks for the great video, Peter! I was out checking on one of my Japanese Wisteria the other day amd thanks to one of your videos, I realised it will bloom next year. I was so happy I had to stop myself from jumping up and down!

Thank you again Peter for another well produced video. Beautiful wisterias!
wow what beautiful work from a wise elder! thank your for your wisdom and education!

Thank you Mr Chan, wisteria now added to my lengthening list of must-do bonsai! 🌺

UK climate is too cold for this plant - so we dont grow it here.
Thank you Mr. Chan, for sharing the beauty that is Herons.
Here, in Georgia, U.S.A., this beautiful wisteria is very invasive. The bees love it and congregate around the vines. I do love to see it in bloom!
Just in time. Interestingly, I just have a wisteria that is 2 weeks old. I planted the seed and it sprouted. It only has about 6 leaves, but this video was very informative as to what to expect.

Thanks for another great video. Please can you do one on Podocarpus/Buddhist Pine.
Sir it gives lots of pleasure to see you sir... Big fan sir
Your wisterias are so beautiful.
Such a great video, incredibly insightful! Thank you Peter
Nice video Mr Chan...as I sit in drippy wet Wicklow on this day, 1st July. Hope to get out into my garden tomorrow and gaze at my own Wisteria.
Beautiful property! One good thing from the pandemic is the lack of flyovers during the video. Could really enjoy the wisteria by the pond and birds chirping.
One or two planes have started flying again. We need the planes back - lots of people without jobs.
Sooooooooo wonderful! Thank you, Master, stay healthy🇩🇪

How to grow cuttings from cypress tree?
If anyone wants a less invasive species, if you wanna consider it that, there is the American wisteria. It grows a little slow and flowers around mid summer.
Do you know the botanical name of the American wisteria ?
@@peterchan3100 the name ist Wisteria frutescens
You ever work with desert Roses? Would love to see your take on those before I get one
make sure you get the right soil and water it properly because desert rose is not an easy plant
@@fugyamofug Ofcourse. Its a wierd mix between tree and succulent and all that. But still curious about Peters way.
@@chrisrose323 I have pruned some for friends when I visited India. Beautiful flowers but not really a tree.

Title Wisteria bonsai. 9.58 later... Oh there they are.
Every year this plant grabs my cherry tree and tries to overwhelm it.
Thanks, Peter! Great video! What NPK fertilizer do you use?
Use high P K in late Summer for the bonsai wisteria. The ones growing in the ground need nothing at all.
I planted a wisteria about 17 years ago. It has never bloomed! I wonder why.
Beautiful wisteria...one of my favorites!! What about the scent Peter?
Gorgeous fragrance
Can anyone tell me when is the best time to prune my wisteria roots for a transplant to a bonsai pot?
there is American wisteria as well
Does anyone know of a wisteria with thorns? Thanks in advance!
I love your videos and find them very informative. Could you please make a video on how to pot and shape a bonsai from an air layer?
Can you recommend a similar flowering plant that is not invasive and damaging to nearby plants?
There is an American Wisteria I think it's called the Kentucky Wisteria. It isn't as fast growing and isn't considered invasive. I have seen them at walmart the last couple years, just for example. I hope that helps you
Can you help me out on the name of that copper bark cherry tree? Thubetica? I'm not finding it. I only see Prunus serrula in search results.
Prunus tibetica (from Tibet)
What do you feed your wisteria?
I swear buy tomato feed but an organic alternative which I’m about to try myself is making a comfrey liquid feed and perhaps a mix with enettle; Peter have you

A clockwise spiral i clockwise no maater how you look at it.

Wisteria is a pretty good argument against atheism.
Can I buy seeds from you?
Seeds may take years before flowering. Hardwood cuttings from flowering plants are faster.
