Great video. I love seeing Wisteria content for Bonsai. I am relatively new to Bonsai but want to specialize in fruit trees with small fruit and flowering tree/shrubs - like Wisteria and Honeysuckle. There is not a lot of content for flowering trees these days so this earned a sub.
Jerome is the tree grafted or on it’s own roots, most sold in the U.K. are now grafted, many years ago now I planted one for my mother in law but it didn’t flower for 7 years, unfortunately it flowered the year she died and didn’t get a chance to see it flowering glory. I have one in my bonsai collection on it’s own roots and it still hasn’t flowered after 4 years. That is a great pot for the tree should look spectacular when in flower.
All the way from the UK , I love the laid back stile of presenting, very informative ,easy to understand , How old is the wisteria ? will you be showing it in bloom ? Cheers
Hey Tim! Thank you so much for your kind words. I would guesstimate it to be around 25-30 years old. However, it is very difficult to tell, especially since nobody at the nursery really knew it's history.
Hey Mike! yes, they absolutely can. It wasn't the ideal time to trim the roots this time of year. It fit perfectly into the new pot and has plenty of space to fill in. Next repot I will work the roots more aggresively.
Hey jerome..in video ur voice sounds a bit echoing and reflective.. please do something to improve voice. Nigel saunders has nice audio quality in ever video.
It would be nice to normalize audio levels. Voice is too low and music way too high. Makes any video much more professional and more enjoyable to watch.
Great content but get yourself a decent mic. Also, the annoying music has to go, or a least lower the volume on it. I keep turning it up to hear you them turn it down when the music comes on. Kinda makes your videos unwatchable, sadly.
Perhaps it is on your end? I just rewatched the video and the audio is steady throughout. I never had to turn it up or down, also the sound quality was lovely.
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply thanks for the reply. I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, even if I was a little frustrated. I watched it on UA-cam, and everything else sounded decent, with some exceptions of course. Sound quality, like other things, is subjective, but I wouldn’t call it lovely. I really want to be constructive here, and I used to work in digital video editing, but your voice sounded hollow and slightly strained for trying to be heard clearly almost as if you were shouting to be heard from across the room by the mic? Regarding the music, the ‘levels’ between the music and the voice were not equal by any stretch. The music dominated and if I had left the volume up while trying to hear the narration, when the music interlude came on, it was annoyingly loud and dominated the video, and it diminished your great content, honestly. Perhaps rather than playing music you could be narrating what you’re doing?
@@anthonymatthews3698 I appreciate your feedback but unfortunately I am not experiencing the same as you are describing and we checked on different devices, even tvs and it sounded fine. The narration is something we do sometimes when it is needed but wasn’t needed for this video. 🙂
Beautiful pot for the tree Jerome, it will look fantastic in flower!
Thank you Nigel! Hopefully she will put on a show in the Spring.
Great tree, great pot, and great job Jerome! 👍 Looking forward to seeing this again in the spring.
Great job Jerome 👏 will look great in flower. Love the pot.
Nice look for this wisteria, especially with the trunk movement it has. Will look stunning in flower! Pot compliments it as well. Good job!
Thank you Ronald!

Hi Tora! I definitely will post many update , and progression videos.

It's been two years. Now (early May) is the perfect time to show the Wisteria at its best. Can you do a follow up video please.

Thank you CK!
Thanks for the video, whats wrong with the leafs on the plant
does the 'strength' of autumn colour have any relation to the next years flowering?

Can wisteria (Chinese) do well as an indoor bonsai, or do they need a cold spell in winter to thrive?
I believe they do need a cold spell

The flowers weep and now the branches weep too? Please do follow up.
Wow! Great tree! Can wisteria take a sever trunk chop if there are no branches under the chop?
How old was the tree when it received its first styling?
What pH do wisteria prefer?
What soil do you use please , great video 👍
Hi John, thank you! I use our all purpose soil: thebonsaisupply.com/collections/bonsai-soil
Good job 👍👍👍
Jerome where do you get pots like this one
Please, would you do an update on this wisteria in like a short or something to show us how it’s doing.
Any update?
Can wisteria survive with root pruning? I see you didn't do any root pruning like other trees.
Hey Mike! yes, they absolutely can. It wasn't the ideal time to trim the roots this time of year. It fit perfectly into the new pot and has plenty of space to fill in. Next repot I will work the roots more aggresively.
hi. newbie here. When is the recommended time to prune wisteria then?
Please show when in full bloom.
How old do you think that tree is?
Probably 15-20 years
Is this one on auction? Or sale?
Hi! Yes, it is for sale. If you are in the United States, please email us at info@thebonsaisupply.com
A one in a thousand nursery find. . . .
100% ! probably more like one in a hundred thousand! I couldn't believe when I found it.
Uhm.. the Chinensis is the fragrant one, not the Floribunda Japanese.

Get a microphone It'll make you sound way more professional
