Glock 17 Gen 5 thats tan... My favorite bedside piece on earth.... It's not even close. My S&W shield plus - performance center, stays on me at work, because of its size & it has a safety for when I carry it in my pocket... My glock however, is my "bump in the night" peice... I would grab it over any of my AR15's. Simply because it's *so simple* to use & it always works. My AR might get grabbed if I knew there were multiple attackers, but 80% of the time when I wake up during the middle of the night at my dogs barking, the Glock 17 is the preferred tool... I also shoot it more than any of my other firearms. I'm *confident* in its performance & I know it'll always perform.. if it doesn't, there's a S&W .357 revolver right beside it that will... & that gun goes *bang* *NO MATTER WHAT* I shoot a glock 19 or 17 better than any other firearm.... I still love my revolvers & Derringers though. There's nothing like having a 100% reliable means of getting a person off of you.... still. I have an officer friend who recently sold ALL of his collectable firearms. He kept his glock 17 though, he said its the only one he shoots or really needs.... he said his Glock 17 filled every roll of his other firearms. I have to agree with him. The average American person will be just fine with ONE glock 17 for the rest of their life. It just works, & it works well... (I'm not hating on people who own multiple guns that would make me the world's biggest hypocrite. Im just saying, a solid Glock will outlive you..)
Hey Lexus, appreciate this comment. really helped me decide between the 17 and 19. I was hoping if you could tell me, for a concealed carry (as a delivery driver), if i got the G19, is there any reason to get larger ammo (.38 or .45SW) or should i just stay with 9mm? Also if i was to find usefulness with the larger ammo, Would it be better to go with a G22 or 23? Appreciate it in advance!
@@rachelandross4evr if you get the g22, you can buy a conversion barrel and run 9mm. And a conversion barrel and run 357 sig... The g22 and g23 and g27 are the same frame as the 17,19, and 26.. But when you buy the 22,23,or 27, the hole in the slide is bigger.. so it allows you to buy a conversion barrel and shoot the smaller caliber 9mm, or 357sig.. Essentially giving you 3 different calibers in one pistol.. 9mm is a great self defense round, 40 is a little better. But 357 sig is SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than either .
The difference between them is simple one has a 4 inch barrel the other has a 4 1/2 inch barrel the 19 would be slightly easier to conceal carry, and 17 will have slightly better ballistic abilities/accuracy due to the slightly longer barrel..
That ballistics would barley be noticeable, seen a video, the 17 was 4 fps more than 19 lol I think it comes down to the grip you prefer/which one hides better for you
17 is the OG for a reason! Gaston Glocks genius invention and innovative genius! Full size full power 9mm for full sized men! No sacrifice in power, range or accuracy just a phenomenal tool by the great 👍
The 17 is bigger woth no real noticeable performance gain as far as muzzle velocity goes. To me just buy the 19 or the 45/19x for the 2 extra rounds. That half inch extra barrel length doesn’t give any noticeable gains
where does the pad of your trigger finger land on both. I think you just don't have the same reach on the 17 which explains your 25 yard shots. The bigger grip will feel better that is why the 17 feels better and the slide is longer so not as snappy.
Weight in the grip (ammunition) can make a gun shoot differently, just as weight on the slide (length). So the weight of a bullet is the same no matter what gun you put it in, but the weight ratio can be quite different, which may affect shooting characteristics, even though they may not be felt. This is why a magazine extension can improve, or at least change, a gun’s characteristics. Try firing the G19 with a fully loaded G17 mag and see what you think of my theory.
We in Germany have to make a "gun handling license", be a member in a gun club for minor twelve month and have to shoot every month or minor 18 times in that twelve month when we miss one month. After that we need a state police clearance certificate and must apply for the purchase of a pistol beforehand. In Germany (land of the ever concerned and afraid) it is a long run to be a gun owner. And after that you are not allowed to carry your gun in public, you are only allowed to shoot with it in the shooting club. So I don't need a "every day carry" gun. And with this perspective a prefer the glock17 gen5. I had a few times 1911's, CZ Shadows and other guns in my hand. But I guess my first gun will be the 17 gen5. I like it how it fits my hand, I love the trigger... Almost everybody in my gun club says: "don't buy a glock, buy a Shadow, buy a whatever, but not a glock!" 🤔😆 Don't know why. I like that pistol and I prever it much more than the heavier Shadow or 1911... 🤷🏻♂️ Nice vid, like all the other glock19/17 vids... 👍😆
That sucks. Where I live, people can legally carry and don’t need a permit. I was carrying my Glock 19 earlier today, I like it more than the 17 because it’s more comfortable to carry.
My understanding is that you are legally allowed to have hollow point ammo. The idea you can't have hollow points in New Jersey comes from the fact that if you're charged with a felony, and you're in possession of hollow point ammo, then that's an additional charge.
@@theevenstevenchannel8220 you did and I found them on another video of yours where you reviewed them. I hadn’t considered them but I love the profile, nice and short front to back. Thanks
The width is the same. Now, the grip angle is not so cut and dry. I supposed the grip angle is the same, but the 17 has a bit more of a hump in the back so it's not just a matter of it being slightly longer.
What is that on the rails? If you are only allowed 10 round magazines to me it makes no sense to own these larger firearms. I would choose the slimline Glocks over these.

You can have hollow points under certain circumstances. The safest type (legally) to use is Hornady Critical Defense with the polymer plug.
