G17 is my favorite Glock. It is phenomenal in every single category. Capacity, looks, compatibility and RELIABILITY. The damn thing eats all ammo. Brass case, aluminum case, steel case, hollow points, fmj, 115gr, 124gr, 147gr, etc. When you insert a loaded mag, you know it is going to run no matter what. And that is why I will always choose Glock

Yeah. I know I’m crazy. But looks are subjective. At first I thought the ak47 and the Glock were two of the ugliest firearms on the planet. Some people just think that way. Yes. If you’ve grown up seeing them in movies and stuff like that it’s the way a gun should look. But if you grew up a little earlier when revolvers and 1911’s were what guns looked like then it’s just simple. Maybe too simple for some.
But I like it too. Not at first but I sure do now.

I shot my first Glock in 1984 on a exercise with the Norwegian Army. They had adopted the G17 just prior. I did not like the G17 at all. Fast forward to 1990 I was talked into a G19 purchase and the rest is history. Took awhile for me to get confident with it. I carry it everyday. I’ve owned many HKs, SIGs etc.... still stick with the G19 for it’s simplicity and durability. Thanks for the video.

I really like Glock pistols for the main reason that they don't have an external safety lever/switch. When a situation is so critical and stressful it is very possible that you might forget to disengage the external safety and the pistol won't go bang when needs to or re-engage the safety after the threat is gone. Glock makes it simple and all forms of safety: drop safe, firing pin block, trigger pull are all controlled by your trigger finger and you don't have to think about it or forget something. That alone is a lifesaving feature everybody should appreciate.

I think you are on the right track. It seems indiscriminate but at the end of the day I feel it’s just a matter of an enormous volume of content and a limited amount of manpower to sift through it and some get hammered because they were discovered and some are left alone because they flew under the radar. I also think they have some secret algorithms which help them find objectionable content and they may make decisions based on those algorithms without bothering to take the time to do their research.

I chose glock because it's popular for CC, but really because to me its one of the few truly "futuristic" looking guns that is aesthetically pleasing, which I know is ironic considering it was first developed in the 80's but I can't shake the feeling that I'm holding some piece of space age tech in my hands. Don't get why so many rag on its appearance.

It all boils down to weight, brotherman. The Glock functions at or higher than the level of the wondernine class (Berettas, Sigs, etc), but it weighs significantly less and that is CRUCIAL when you have to haul it all day every day. Even the Glock 21 is far lighter than most .45's and metal 9mm's, and has 13+1 to boot. Fantastic handguns

Once I bought my first Glock, I never looked back. I call it the Ultimate Combat & Self Defense weapon. It's simple to shoot with practice and training, simple & quick to take down and clean and it has been the most reliable firearm I have ever owned. I now am retired and my EDC is a Glock43, which I call my Old Man Gun and at 76 years old this has become my favorite self defense weapon. Although I must admit at times I do carry my Ruger LCP II in my Pocket holster and this has been my most reliable .380 for deep concealment!

That’s probably because you as well as most newer gun buyers are used to seeing Glocks in movies, tv and video games. It’s now the standard of awesomeness in handguns. But when they first came out that standard was 1911’s, Beretta’s and revolvers. Compared to those guns the Glock looked pretty plain.
I agree. Now I love the simple, no nonsense design of the Glock. It has grown in me. But it took time.

I love glocks and it's because of the simplicity. As you say I don't want a safety to contend with because that split second might be the difference between life and death. I like the KISS (keep it simple stupid) mentality and that especially holds true for the firearm which God forbid I might be trusting my life with. I'll never forget back in 94 first seeing glocks and hearing all this silly plastic gun metal detector shooting underwater stuff and seeing that tupperware box and dad and I would chuckle about them and all the rumors around them. Fast forward to 2005 and I got my first glock model 27 and man I was in love especially after 3,000 rds put through her without a single hiccup. Simplicity is perfection or as close as you can get to it.

    • @MaxHeadspace9mm
      @MaxHeadspace9mm  4 роки тому +1

      Agree 100%!
There are certainly guns that can do more than a Glock but a Glock does exactly what you need and no more. And that simplicity makes it light, durable, reliable and easy to live with over time. That’s why there are so many imitators. But even after 30+ years none of them have actually surpassed Glock.

In the “gun culture” when a “firearms enthusiast” rattles on while at the sales counter no one cares what he has to say. It’s normally ridiculous nonsense!
Many stores and police departments have a grip display that allows a person to see which Glock handgun fits their hand in order to help in considering a purchase or to aid in issuing a firearm. Some police agencies issue handguns by fit also which is probably a good idea.
Some stores/ranges have firearms available to test fire. People may want a particular firearm for whatever reason but that company/manufacturer may not make a model that adequately fits their hand. So it may be unpleasant to shoot and they’re not very accurate with it and they will blame the firearm.
Especially years ago when people were making the transition from revolvers to semi-autos. Woo that was a dangerous time.
I belong to a large club and members will allow other members to test their firearms if they are interested.
As in any potentially dangerous hobby new enthusiasts should take their time in selecting a firearm and other equipment ie: quality ear and eye protection.
Training, training and more training is very important also. There is allot to learn and it takes time to become proficient.
Finally, Glock firearms is a great place to start. More than likely Glock makes a firearm that will fit your hand, man or women and their firearms are very reliable.

As a new firearms owner, I took a self defense class where the instructor brought his firearms for us to shoot after the fact. I really liked the g17 over the 19 because of the grip space. I also went to the range and rented a few other pistols and reconfirmed I really liked the g17. I'm in California so CCWs are next to impossible to get, so concealing the firearm wasn't too big of a factor in my decision.

Glock's are often used in action movies, such as Die Hard, and Jason Bourne. If you know, and recognize the look of one, you know what a Glock is, then I feel you're more to like it. I think Glock's are pretty cool. I do agree, they aren't the best looking pistol. But that's only because other gun have more complicated designs, and it all depends on the attachments you put on them. HOWEVER Glock's are still bomb as fuck.

Performance, reliability, simplicity, and a gun that plays well with "EVERYTHING" seems to be more of a highlight to me then just looks. Mine has performed flawlessly, eats everything, and is extremely reliable. Even I have been one to say Glock should step it up like Sig. Sig is literally trying to wipe Glock from the planet from firearms, to ammo, optics and so on. One thing that stays true, Glock isn't broke, so I guess that's why they don't fix it. It holds it's reputation from the early 80's till today. Yes I've had other firearms, but I can't say enough about the Glock and it's performance over the years. Gen 5- 35 parts. It's simplicity is it's strength that can't be beat.

@@sweet65mustang "If Glock is the best why do so many people spend so much money replacing everything?"
Because the fantasy is more important than the reality to most (99%) men. The only thing aftermarket on my G17 & G22 are the sights & there is absolutely no reason what so ever to replace any of the other factory parts with aftermarket. If it's a range toy then customize to your hearts content, paint it pink & glue fur on it. I don't care. For carry? I doubt a jury would consider the owner of a highly customized carry pistol, with lot's of flashy high dollar parts, to be the most reluctant (last resort, I had no other choice) defensive shooter. Keep your carry gun(s) stock & your carry ammo factory loaded major brand. (Like Federal, Remington, Winchester, Speer etc.) Never "boutique" ammo like the "fully machined kill 'em dead super slicer buzz saw hollow points" that sell for $20 per 5 pack.

@@renaissanceman7145I gave you a thumb's up based on your descriptions alone. I agree with you for the most part. The only thing i've changed are sights, polished the stock trigger and added a silencerco threaded barrel for the can. But my furry pink H&K USP is still the king and the gun I would stake my life on if it came down to it. Lol

Everything in this video is so true. If every gun owner watched this I bet you could convince them to buy at least one Glock. I too have the 26 and in the process of getting a 17 both gen 5

Gun choice is so personal. I’ve heard most often a new gun buyer making their choice based on looks or feel in the hand. But living with that choice long term is a different matter. And looks are subjective and even become unimportant at some point. Even the matter of feel in the hand is subjective because comfort is based on comparisons with other guns.
But the factors that stay with you long term are reliability, ease of use, simplicity and familiarity. And a simple gun like a Glock just rises to the occasion.

& that “ mostly plastic “ shit is Bs! most the weight in a Glock is in the METAL slide . Take down a Glock and hold the frame by itself you’ll understand just how little weight comes from the plastic

Max didn't say the lower receiver is heavier than the metal parts. He said........the Glock 17 is mostly plastic, and he's absolutely correct. Your ignorance is pathetic. Period !!!

Thanks! Great video with everything I needed to know! For too long, I have felt like an outsider with my friends and family who are all gun experts. But those days are over and now I have become a proud member of the gun community. Thus, I have completed the final phase of joining the LGBT (Liberty, Guns, Beer, Trump) community. Great day!

He is now facing brandishing charges.
Don't buy for show, buy for function.

I can only speak from my own personal experience but once you get used to Glock perfection you never go back. I’ve never met anyone who, after putting 1,000 rounds through a Glock, has decided it’s a bad gun. Usually it’s quite the opposite. The more you shoot it, the more you like it.

Excellent video he really explains every detail of the clock 17 and the Glock 26 both great guns the Glock 17 Gen 3 my opinion and police department said it's the best car out there if you could find one buy it I don't care too much for the New Gen 5 they did away with finger grooves and a couple little other things it's probably still a good gun but it's a little bit more money you have to use your own judgment whatever is the best deal by it 🇦🇹🇺🇲👍
