I really like this conversation review style. Arguably, the only reason to put a Ferrari in AUTOMATIC is to cruise. Let's say you've been out and about driving aggressively (but legally) and you're now on your way home and you're tired. Put it into automatic and relax. If you're cruising don't put it into sport and race modes. I'd say the automatic gearbox tune is a non-issue.
That's so funny about the auto mode with the shift points. If you put a Porsche car with PDK in Sport Plus, even a 'regular' Carrera or Carrera S, it's practically at the limiter in every gear and downshifting every time you drop below 4,000 RPM. It's nearly unusable on the road. Much more focused. Overall this car looks great but I'd be worried about Ferrari and bleeding edge tech...
I actually like the fact that Ferrari chose to force you into engaging the driving experience by the way they put the clamps on automatic mode. My reasoning?? One of the reasons so many folks get into trouble is from the ample opportunity for distraction when you don’t need to pay attention to the cars nuances in the driving experience. ESPECIALLY when you are giving it a bit of a beating or driving aggressively. Getting over confident with the cars command of the environment doesn’t always translate into a smart and intentionally attentive driver. The cars says, “Keep rubbing my shoulders and I’ll let you play. Ignore me and you get no serious performance goodies. You get serious transportation.” It forces the driver to engage with what’s coming into play if the driver in fact wants to play with the road. Know what I mean?? It’s already pretty damn close to an automatic when not needing to use a clutch. I think it’s a smart play since there are a whole lot of folks out there with the money to buy one of these as their first Ferrari or even first supercar and this restriction sorta forces them to engage the performance capabilities instead of just handing them over 600+HP to play with regardless of their shifting abilities. Famous last words before the new supercar owner demolishes his new car coming home from the dealer after picking it up, “Oh, here comes a corner!! This thing is supposed to handle like it’s on rails!! I’ll just hit the gas and the car will do the rest!!” 😎
You guys produce the best videos, and other video producers should use your evaluations for the guide for their videos. Car enthusiasts should seek out your videos always. Well done❤🎉.
This car is the only Ferrari right now that looks just a blast to drive. All the others are waaaaayyyyy to serious in their attitude to delivering supercar experience, I would choose the Roma over F8/SG90/815 without even having to think about it.
These look completely better and more mean when you put slightly larger and more aggressive looking wheels on them, seems like a great daily Ferrari, cooler than a 911tts
I would get a 992 Turbo S over this though! The 992 Turbo S is faster 0-60, the PDK should be Smoother, it is AWD, looks better to me, and it's about 50k or more Cheaper. It's a much better value for the 992 Turbo S!
@@bavomaes yea I feel you but I'm a track guy 😂. More Grip the better clawing out the corners! The 992 Turbo S is the best overall bang for your buck for a sports car in my humble opinion 💪

Love Ferrari. Have a ‘98 355F1 that drives remarkably refined. However, I would save the money and buy a 20/21 GT500 even with its regrettably tiny fuel tank.

I'm pretty sure that no other reviewer has mentioned that auto mode is essentially a town and highway mode, so a big thumbs up to Matt Farah. But it's a thumbs down to Ferrari for that. I hope it's only a pre-production thing. Anyway, it's a great looking car. And personally, I quite like the grille. I'd also like to see the V12 in this.
Do they give the option to have the grill in chrome or a different color or does it have to be the body color ? I’ve only ever seen them the same color as the car
jesus they REALLY need to update that gauge cluster before giving it to customers. that choppy 10 fps is absolutely not acceptable. especially in a moving vehicle
Polarizing design, I'm leaning towards that it does in fact look great but I can see how its not for everyone. Transmission tuning is either due to preproduction or its inexcusable.
Idk, I agree with Ferrari here. It’s a GT car, so a reasonable economical trans tuning for when you’re doing your touring makes sense, and basically any enthusiast is going to shift themselves when they’re driving fast

Absolutely gorgeous Ferrari, i would pick the Roma over the rest even if money wasn’t an issue!
For a turno engine that does sound very nice....achingly pretty car. These will sell like crazy.
Love it but that body color grill.... (Unless it’s an all black car, than it’s okay) Besides that it’s a beaut! Can’t wait to see it/try it
I love this car. Flaws and all its perks outweigh it's shortcomings
Hope you guys heal well, because I'm not sure whether I'll be tuning in for your mobility scooter reviews!
3:34 The 812SF and the f12 are front engine and also have 5 position manettino.
It's interesting that Ferrari made the point about "first front-engined Ferrari with 5-point Mannetino" when it is demonstrably untrue. Maybe they snuck in a "first V8 front engined?"
@@TheSmokingTire unless they are being super technical... don't know about the 812 but for the f12 almost the entirety of the engine sits behind the front axle, which technically makes it a midengine?
You could get this, but I'll stick to the LC500
for the same price no way!
Dude, I see you everywhere. You are the Justin Y of car videos.
@@kristians2704 not the same price at all. LC500 starts at a little over 100k.So almost half price of the base version of this car. This, as tested was over 300k. And it looks better, better quality interior, amazingly sonorous NA V8, and most importantly, it's a Lexus so it will last forever and ever. The only real shortcoming of the LC against this car is in the power department. 475hp vs 612hp. But some guys are bolting on superchargers on RCFs and making 700hp easily, so it should technically be possible to do it to an LC500 since they both share the same engine
@@joaquinpaul8205 But how is it better if I cant option 5K for android auto and another 50K(!!!!!) in Carbon bits?
@@joaquinpaul8205 the reliability is by no means the most important thing on a new car. Also I was saying if they would be the same price then I would get the Ferrari. The Ferrari sounds almost as good as the Lexus
This program is rapidly becoming an account of Matt Farah’s lavish lifestyle
the roma is so beautiful
"Like BK you can have it your way"😂
These videos need more views
I’m digging Zack’s jacket.
These two takes are dope.
5:53 - 5:58 absolutely says it all about this car 😆👍🏽
This car is the only Ferrari right now that looks just a blast to drive. All the others are waaaaayyyyy to serious in their attitude to delivering supercar experience, I would choose the Roma over F8/SG90/815 without even having to think about it.
I didn't realize this wasn't just a concept car. If I saw it on the street, I'd probably assume it's an Aston rather than a Ferrari
A very beautiful car.
Very Aston Martin.
These look completely better and more mean when you put slightly larger and more aggressive looking wheels on them, seems like a great daily Ferrari, cooler than a 911tts
Your insurance adjuster is probly very happy. The weather. yeah makes a difference with sport tyres with that kinda power.
I would get a 992 Turbo S over this though! The 992 Turbo S is faster 0-60, the PDK should be Smoother, it is AWD, looks better to me, and it's about 50k or more Cheaper. It's a much better value for the 992 Turbo S!
The AWD part is what turns me off! I like the drifteroo 😅
@@bavomaes yea I feel you but I'm a track guy 😂. More Grip the better clawing out the corners! The 992 Turbo S is the best overall bang for your buck for a sports car in my humble opinion 💪
@@bavomaes are you really gonna drift a car at that price anyway tho
Man it always cracks me up that people talk about these cars like they can afford them.
Great video guys, thanks. FYI the cobra video is up but isn't loading (not sure if that was by design)
If there ever was a single car that says, 'Fuck you! Get out of my Starbuck's parking space! I'm a Cali bitch not to be messed with, cause my current BF soon to be 3rd hubby bought me this red Ferrari'... this is that car. Yes, that's this wanna be supercar's intro.. word for word.
It’s all about that computer compower in modern cars at the end of the day
Love Ferrari. Have a ‘98 355F1 that drives remarkably refined. However, I would save the money and buy a 20/21 GT500 even with its regrettably tiny fuel tank.
i think that bass note comes from the dimensions/placement of the downpipe and not from the long exhaust pipes, but i could be wrong. just a hunch
1M subs Congratulations
I don't care for steering wheel "buttons". Ferrari should go back to "real switches".
Love how he takes his seatbelt off before the end of the video, but the driver never even looks at removing his.
“Let’s switch back. No, I’ll just drive it back to the city.”
Dropping your ads in on hard acceleration is a dirty trick Matt
Holy shit, matt must've hit 88mph at 4:28 into the video and traveled back into time.
What do you all think of the new Ferrari Roma?
I don't like the way it looks, I prefer the look of the Portofino more.
Do they give the option to have the grill in chrome or a different color or does it have to be the body color ? I’ve only ever seen them the same color as the car
@@charlie1832 body color only.
California? Did you mean Portofino?
Did you guys try driving it hard in auto? Wouldn’t you think it’ll adapt up to the selected driving mode once you start driving like it?
Manscape those" Hairy Knockle's" Bahahah
I have been looking for good all the time car, the Ferrari Roma seems to be a suitable and budget friendly replacement for my Accord.
jesus they REALLY need to update that gauge cluster before giving it to customers. that choppy 10 fps is absolutely not acceptable. especially in a moving vehicle
Modern computing compower ahahaha
Polarizing design, I'm leaning towards that it does in fact look great but I can see how its not for everyone. Transmission tuning is either due to preproduction or its inexcusable.
Idk, I agree with Ferrari here. It’s a GT car, so a reasonable economical trans tuning for when you’re doing your touring makes sense, and basically any enthusiast is going to shift themselves when they’re driving fast
this front end makes me think of the Disco Volante Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Damn touch buttons everywhere.
How is this an improvement over physical buttons I will never understand.
