My 2019 has given not a single problem other than having to replace the 12 volt battery after 3.5 years. It gives me 300 miles of range and with the Tesla Supercharger network I have no fear of taking it on a long trip anywhere in the country and selected areas of Canada and Mexico. I love my Tesla.
Excellent comparison review. I own a Tesla Model 3 Long Range in Australia. I elected to buy one of the last Shanghai builds of the 2023 model, which were being sold as the Highland was commencing construction. Mine was built end of August 2023. Tesla software updates, Shanghai build quality, ride comfort and the Tesla charging network, which is growing rapidly in Australia, place Tesla ahead of many other companies. I considered Volvo, Kia and other EV’s before I made my choice. Range and charging facilities put the Tesla ahead of them all.
Wow.. exactly the pool of cars that are in my focus as my new daily driver in 2024 (except the I5, to big for my needs and too expensiv). If someone would have asked me for a comparison video, it would have been exactly this. Thank you soo much.
Got myself a BYD Seal AWD 3.8 last month. After cruising around for a month and hitting over 3000 km, I'm totally stoked about this car. But choosing the car black was a bit of a blunder. The paint job's not top-notch and needs a lot of waxing and care to keep it from looking dusty all the time. And the new car smell was super strong, almost made me sick at first. Took some serious airing out with the windows down, a bunch of Ozone and anti-odor sprays to finally get rid of it. If you're thinking about getting this for family road trips, it's a solid choice - it's got a 5-star EURO NCAP rating and fitting a baby car seat's a breeze thanks to the design of the back doors.
I got the seal, and you’re absolutely correct about the new car smell. Super strong! I got sick on my first drive, which had never happened before. Took quite some time to air out, and some of it still lingers. I have tons of activated charcoal inside the car now 😅 baking soda didnt do anything. Hopefully I can get rid of the smell soon. It’s carcinogenic.
I was testing the new Model 3 yesterday and it's really improved. Sadly, no stalks is a deal breaker for me. Especially on smaller roundabouts its forcing you to actively looking for the right signal button. What a stupid idea. Looking forward to test VW ID.7 once it's available in December
I agree. You are not supposed to have accept inferior system or have to purchase workarounds. Tesla will also make seat heating a subscribed feature in the future.
Had my Model 3 Highland for over 2 weeks now. No ISSUE whatsoever for me, and my city and daily routes are filled with round abouts. If you hold the steering weehl safly with your both hands, there is NO issue indicating - hey, its even easier! And this is only after some days using the car!!!
By far the best value in Australia of those in this review that are currently available down under at least for ordering, the Seal looks to be the best "bang for bucks", probably thanks to no local car industry in this country anymore to keep prices high. The Seal is available in 3 variants, Dynamic RWD (AUD~49k) Premium RWD - bigger battery and more power (AUD~59k) and Performance AWD (AUD~69k). Add 3-4k for on road/drive away price. Whilst I like the Model 3 update, it's just a bit too minimalist for me. Not providing a HUD that could be activated/deactivated for the minimalist junkies was a silly omission. I also don't see "no stalks" as a selling point.
I'm going for the premium trim on the Seal. As for the model 3, I really want to see how this car is going to be street legal down under. They are busting our balls about safe driving and the use of mobile phones and all the new model 3 is, it's actually a mobile phone on wheels!

Very nice video. Seen a seal in person & fell in love. Placed an order for a rwd premium for aud 62k in Australia & can't wait. Don't like the exterior of the tesla, lack of stalks or minimalist interior.
I’m torn between the model 3 highland LR and the BYD seal AWD. I’ve drove the model 3 highland and I really enjoyed it but I can’t help thinking I’m missing out not getting the BYD seal. The nearest BYD garage to me is a 800 mile round trip which worries me incase the car needs to go in for repairs for anything or for a service. Such a difficult decision for me
Yes, both are on top of their game in this EV-segment, Sedan class, indeed performing equally well in most aspects. Pretty sure you will be satisfied either way. My choice went to the Tesla Model 3 Highland LR, mostly because of preferred styling and more established brand around where I live (felt a bit safer). Good luck!
@Jbrm313 I can honestly say that the BYD Seal is better in terms of build quality and overall design (imo). We went and tested the Seal and the M3 Highland the same day, because we couldn't decide which one to get - We ended up keeping our reservation on the BYD Seal 👌 It's such a nice car to drive and there is absolut 0 noise inside the cabin when driving on the highway. The M3 Highland is was pretty similar, but the lack of stalks, sensors and the "touch screen only koncept" really turned us off. I will say this tho, that the RWD version of the Seal didn't feel much different in terms of driving experience compared to the AWD .. Except for the extra boost you get from 0-100. So we went with the RWD version (a lot cheaper in insurrance).
@@mogensen84 Great to hear! "the lack of stalks, sensors and the "touch screen only koncept" really turned us off." Thats the sort of things that turns me on 🤣So simple, clean and progressive, IMO.
I’m going to give it a bit more thought over the next few days before I place my order and decide whether the risk of BYD being so far for me is worth it.
@@mogensen84did you notice on your test drive whether the BYD had over aggressive safety systems? I’ve seen a lot of reviewers say it’s quite intrusive and causes issues
Thank you for this comparison review. I am picking up my own Model 3 Performance tomorrow (6/17), trading in my made in Austin, Texas 2023 Model Y Dual Motor. I'm super excited to get my first Tesla Performance model. My previous Tesla was a 2019 Model 3 Dual Motor and I was super happy with it. Since then, I'd purchased a Model Y and recently, took delivery of a Cyberbeast after four and a half years of waiting. I am now officially a Tesla fanboy :D
I would store charging cables, if possible, in a Frunk/Froot. But, having spent all my previous life not storing anything under the bonnet, if it wasn’t there I wouldn’t miss it. If you have a charger at home with a cable always attached, what would use cables for?
Have had a Seal Performance 3.8S AWD since about April and already at 15k kms. Thought we made a mistake at first, because of the unknowns. But we were so off. It's been completely reliable, zero squeaks or rattles, smooth, quiet, fast and cheap. Just makes sense for us. And not having a home charger has never been an issue not once. Easy from Sydney to Canberra with charge to spare. What a great car. The Chinese really are on their game. In a decade, heck, half a decade there won't be any stopping them. Will add a BYD Sealion 7 if it comes to Australia and the BYD Shark 6 just went live for orders yesterday, extremely tempting to trade my Abarth on it. We shall see. But it shows how much of a competitor BYD truly is.
The BYD Seal looks like an upgraded Tesla Model 3 with all the things I wish Tesla would have: - instrument cluster - heads-up display - physical buttons for important functions - indicator stalk - door opening handles instead of buttons - gear selector (not touchscreen) - Apple Carplay/Android Auto support
I test drove a BYD Seal yesterday & it was fantastic, I loved it. But for me it would be a much better car if it was a hatchback & not a saloon, that body shape could easily work as a hatchback. I also dislike the rear seats being in a 60/40 split, why can’t all manufacturers split the seats as 40/20/40? Long items can go straight down the middle & 2 people can sit comfortably too.
Yeah, we've just booked the seal, looks even better in person. Model 3 is still a great alternative, but the Seal seems to be better value for money and the build quality is very nice.
@@Jbrm313it will depend on your priority. If you are passionate about driving, and care more about performance or self driving, you should go with Tesla. The Seal is more of a city car compared to M3
You're making excellent points. The Tesla is pure garbage the competitors have 100's of years of combined experience over Tesla and will soon take back their territory!
Great detail and fascinating comparison. As a publishing matter, I wonder whether there is a case, perhaps for members only, for a 30 minute summary of this with perhaps a forward look on where each marque is going. To turn to this episode, what is clear is that Tesla in about ten years has set the benchmark against which everyone else is tested. To stick with Tesla it is clear they have not sat on their hands and have made rapid improvements to their first Tesla 3. My take is that if you consider both price and features only BYD is really keeping up on both metrics. As it happens, I would not want a Tesla or BYD and in fact this car segment is not for me. My cousin who is about twenty years younger than me is just shelling out for a Tesla 3 to take his children to school (a 100 mile round trip 5 days a week, don’t ask). He wants an EV to save on the petrol and will install renewable charging at home so zero marginal cost per kwh. His other car is a Range Rover which guzzles gas so not ideal for a long school run. He rather likes the mobile phone on wheels UI, though I am not yet completely sold on it. I like the minimalism but miss the buttons. If I were to go for external looks, I thought the Ioniq 6 looked pretty good. If I were to go for internal cabin I liked BMW, but perhaps that is a sign that I am a bit older than my cousin. What is clear is that the premium marques are still way off the new price points and I doubt that is sustainable.
I'm glad you brought up the poor steering response when accelerating in the BMW i4. They've released several firmware updates since the car's release but have yet to include steering adjustments with it.
I live in the EU, I have now the Model 3 2024 for about 2 months, with tons of roundabouts. It is hard for me to go back to stalks. I drove last week with a Polestar and I was already so adjusted, that my new muscle memory had a hard time to deal with roundabouts and left and right turns with the Polestar.
Note that contrary to the first info and contrary to how they sold the vehicle to customers, the BYD Seal does come with animal skin leather. Customers bought the vehicle expecting animal free leatherette while BYD did not offer consistent information.
Very happy with my BMW i4 over the past year. Averaging 3.7 miles/kwh. Crisp handling, balanced chassis, fun to drive. A year later, I would have given serious consideration to the i5, if only for the increased cabin space.
Hey Thomas great content as always, Just ordered the BYD Seal Performance, and can't wait to collect my new car in 3 weeks. What watch are you wearing buddy ?

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at ua-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/v-deo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: ua-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/v-deo.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: ua-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/v-deo.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: ua-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/v-deo.html More and more natural materials are rising: ua-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/v-deo.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: ua-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/v-deo.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ua-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/v-deo.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
@@autogefuehl I love your reviews Thomas! Hands down the best automobile content on UA-cam. I have a GLK 350 with an "animal free" leather interior and I honestly can't tell the difference aside from some minor delamination on high wear areas. The argument has always been cruelty free vs synthetics which rely on the oil/chemical industry, although we see an increase in quality fabrics made from recycled materials these days... Thank you for taking the time to respond to me directly. You made my day! 🙂
Thomas, I have not consumed meat since 1981. Your perspective on the respect of other mammals is a very enlightened awareness that we both share. Each day I encounter other humans who have a dense sense of the slaughtering of animals. They act like I am the strange one as they fill their blank minds and greedy bellies with flesh from a form similar to theirs. Almost canibal-like from my view. Great video ! My choice polestar 2 long range single motor because for me a car easy to drive if as a first EV with enough power, very range and nice technology package. The polestar is a sedan but with more distance to the ground which make it easier to drive on our European roads that are not flat as a formula 1 circuit. I don’t want to scratch my car at any reduce speed element
For me there is one BIG reason why only the VW and the Polestar would be on my list - I have a dog! Of the two, it would have to be the VW. The Polestar’s cramped rear seats are just far too cramped.
Good choice but put the Polestar #2 because of the lack of experience in the automotive industry. Volkswagen has been around for decades and has the go to knowledge of how to produce a well refined vehicle with excellent performance!
When max speed you can drive is 120 km/h ID7 is too powerfull and fast for that! So it depends. ID7 would be much more powerfull than my current car. Has good and practical space for luckages. But if you need sport car… go for something else. But among these… it is the most practical vehicle.
@@haukionkannel for the price tag the HP is way too low compared to the competition, its overpriced. Make it more affordable if the performance isn't there. The interior is good but not justified combined with the performance. Sure it might be enough for most people but considering the price you should get more than they offer.
@@nak8327” Tesla is junk “ do you have something to support that, or are you just throwing things at the wall to see if they stick? Sales AND many worldwide questionnaires show objectively that Tesla owners are very happy and have very little (real) issues. About the “120 km/h”, power means faster acceleration and I want a fast car, specially if it’s near 2000 kg of weight. VW group and the French just don’t deliver it, giving ride comfort and a little better construction quality but worse from everything else. That said, the VW id 7 is a great car, the best electric VW built, eventually the best European electric car for comfort/price but…still too limited against Tesla and Co
The feature of a front storage space "frunk" has proven invaluable for me. Model 3 looking better than Model S ? The model 3 is boring and i can almost see the drivers bellybutton. It’s hideous. BMW i4 is the best looking car here, best driver position and it has stalks!!
Had my Model 3 Highland for over 2 weeks now. No ISSUE whatsoever for me without stalks, and my city and daily routes are filled with roundabouts. If you hold the steering wheel safely with your both hands, there is NO issue indicating - hey, its even easier! And this is only after some days using the car!!! The car is not perfect, but overall, in this segment, one of the very best!
That's bull ! It's not easier and can't be used intuitively in a tight roundabout! You have to look away from the road to find the right button, so how is that easier than never having to look away from the road to indicate if you have steering stalks ? This is why Tesla drivers are hated so much, you just defend every BS Musk does, no matter if it makes sense or not ! If Musk would suggest it's better having 3 wheels instead of 4 you would even defend that !
In the market for one of these. Tesla seems to have addressed issues with quality and refinement, but not lack of rear headroom or frustrating door handles, and unnecessarily introduced new stupidities for no reason. Stalks are completely intuitive way of managing frequent functions and getting rid of them is crazy. And automatic forward/reverse gear selection is just bs, even if it did work perfectly. So I know it’s efficient, and now more refined, but it’s not for me. Still love the style Polestar, but maybe ID7 is best combo or style, quality, efficiency and space
I'm driving the Highland for a week now and I don't get the fuzz about setting the indicator, it really is not a big deal and easy to use. I rather have a problem with the headlight button since it takes more time to reach it. I agree with the missing parking sensors and better travel assist in the ID7 (e.g. construction sites) and the IQ Light is awesome. But I'm not be willing to spare an additional 20.000 Euros for those features, since I have to work for the money.
I’ve sure you’ve made a good decision for your situation. No doubt the Tesla is an excellent car if it’s what suits your requirements. I’ve driven Tesla, Polestar and i5 - all good in different ways. @@gregmorgan8350 Sure, all good cars. The thing is, subsidies in many countries are running out, and I wanted to get a car now since Volvo, VW,... all have delivery times of half a year or more.
Good choice with the id.7. Tesla is a very boring company controlled by Elon Musk who isn't doing anything interesting here in the USA. He just watches his net worth and flexes his ego on X. Volkswagen has been around for decades and has way more information and technical support then Tesla will ever have. The ride quality alone is enough to make the right choice.

It’s amazing that Tesla still wins these tests. They are so far ahead in the game. Sure, other brands are coming but it will take several years to overtake Tesla.
Yeah, so you’re assuming Tesla is going to stay where they are in order for the other ones to catch up. Are you nuts? That’s not how business works. By the time they catch up to Tesla, Tesla will have far more superior batteries, and even better technology.
I have the Highland. It take a few weeks then its no peoblem without stalks. But its a taste. Now with EU ban on Chinese cars. Well that is a different thing. We will love to tell.
It's crazy that i will NOT buy a model 3 just because of the lacks of parking sensors. It's just a too big deal breaker. The front bonnet of the model 3 in particulary long, you can't see sh*t. And where I live, it's impossible to not bump something with a car like this.
BYD Seal. :) Tesla i have not even considered because service sucks, 4-6 weeks waiting and warranty, nothing is tesla´s fault! 4000 euros for repairing heating. Here in Finland. BYD Seal 50000 euros and Tesla Perf 60000 euros...
Crazy that you would consider ID7, it may have improved from a VW perspective, but it still falls way behind on the most important parameters, slow charging 175kw max, it´s crazy heavy, 2,25T when weighed IRL, options that needed adding, to compare to BYD/TESLA is another €6K, and the software, yes better, but still terrible.and VW quality is also terrible.
In the world of EVs, Chinese companies such as BYD definitely give European legacy auto makers a run for their money. And let's not forget BYD is currently the second largest EV battery manufacturer in the world, only next to CATL, which is also a Chinese company.
Ioniq 6 is by far the best bang for buck when it comes to quality, fit and finish and also tech, I've never owned a vehicle that has all this tech without paying for 7k options on top of price of car. We haven't even mentioned the brilliant range and 18 minute charging. It's a brilliant car and I'd recommend anyone in the market to test drive one immediately and if possible when it's darker because man that car comes alive at night.

BMW have been describing themselves as premium since last century, when German cars were called spartan, their notion of luxury was so different from U.S., it was about engineering.
Your mistake is you bought a tesla very bad decision. The ID.7 is the clear winner here and actually looks like a real car. BMW comes in #2 then Polestar.
My 2019 has given not a single problem other than having to replace the 12 volt battery after 3.5 years.
Good call on airing out the new smell this is highly recommend from many manufacturers of new cars.
I drove all of them and I'm Team BYD Seal too! Probably will get this soon
Perhaps you still smelt the sweat of modern Chinese slave labor inside the car.
I think it has to do with all the plastic seat instead of leather.
Get S3XY buttons and make one button to signal right and use it when making exit from roundabout.
I agree. You are not supposed to have accept inferior system or have to purchase workarounds. Tesla will also make seat heating a subscribed feature in the future.

We went and tested the Seal and the M3 Highland the same day, because we couldn't decide which one to get - We ended up keeping our reservation on the BYD Seal 👌
It's such a nice car to drive and there is absolut 0 noise inside the cabin when driving on the highway.

BYD Seal RWD long range is my choice! But Polestar 2 has the best infotainment, drive cluster of all👍

I would store charging cables, if possible, in a Frunk/Froot. But, having spent all my previous life not storing anything under the bonnet, if it wasn’t there I wouldn’t miss it. If you have a charger at home with a cable always attached, what would use cables for?
Just for charging underway indeed
But it shows how much of a competitor BYD truly is.
thanks for the feedback!
The BYD Seal looks like an upgraded Tesla Model 3 with all the things I wish Tesla would have:
- instrument cluster
- heads-up display
- physical buttons for important functions
- indicator stalk
- door opening handles instead of buttons
- gear selector (not touchscreen)
- Apple Carplay/Android Auto support
I test drove a BYD Seal yesterday & it was fantastic, I loved it. But for me it would be a much better car if it was a hatchback & not a saloon, that body shape could easily work as a hatchback. I also dislike the rear seats being in a 60/40 split, why can’t all manufacturers split the seats as 40/20/40? Long items can go straight down the middle & 2 people can sit comfortably too.
Pricewise it's a toss-up between BYD Seal and the Model 3.
I’m making this exact decision at the moment. Tough choice!
@@Jbrm313 you have to drive them both

Tesla is pure junk. The party will be over soon. I'm sick of seeing them on the street in California.
Thanks for the feedback !

Exactly how are synthetic leather interiors better the environment? Honest question. Simply would like to know...
Animal free, Thomas big proponent.
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: ua-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/v-deo.html
And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: ua-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/v-deo.html
New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: ua-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/v-deo.html
More and more natural materials are rising: ua-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/v-deo.html
Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: ua-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/v-deo.html
For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ua-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/v-deo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.

Also tesla only gets 75% of its stated range per independent testing by carwow and Edmunds Car reviews. Bmw 88%.. BMW has more/better tech.
@@G82Watts Depend on the tesla, model S and X has a HUD, 2024 tesla vision could made a 3D of 360 projection environment around the car. all newer model 2024 has ventilated seat, Tesla is the only self driving that could took you from highway into city road.
Tesla is lighter and more efficient than any BMW EV.
BMW screen is waaayyy laggier than tesla.
@@pindot787 u just wrote pretty much all false news. BMW user AI has never once by any reviewer said to be leggy. I have driven the new bmw m3 and m4 and it didn't even lag a little bit. So that's false. Yes tesla self driving can do self driving around town aswell but let me ask u this. Who would buy a brand like bmw or porsche etc.. spend 60k+ on a car and not wanna drive it around town.. the whole point of these brands is how engaging and fun they are too drive. Major majority of buyers would only want too use self driving on long tideous drives on the highway. Which bmw and other brands do better highway self driving then tesla. Refer to " Edmunds Car reviews self driving bmw vs tesla vs audi vs Cadillac. Tesla got last place. Also tesla makes u keep ur hands by the wheel and be looking directly ahead at all times.. unlike other brands which are completely hands free and let u look down at ur phone and do whatever. So if u have to do all that in a tesla u might as well just be driving! Lmao.
2. None of teslas cars have a HUD. The new model 3nhighland finally got ambient lighting but still no HUD, stalks, gauge cluster screen,360 cam,etc... refer to "rysmons auto park tesla vs bmw vs audi" where tesla got last place in auto Parking for parallel spots. Tesla is suppose to be a tech car yet luxury brands have better tech 🤣🤣
MY24PPP, No issues here.
I have a problem with the comparison: Using the BMW M versions is a mistake on this kind of comparission. The more reasonable eDrive40 version of BMW i4 is a much comfortable, more "BMW feel" when driving, much more efficient, better range, ... Give it a try.
Was not available for testing at that point, u re right the rwd is more price comparable
@@autogefuehl ah, that explains it! Hope you can show us your opinion on the eDrive40 soon. Thank you for all the wonderful car test videos
Order on both BYD Seal AWD and Tesla M3 AWD. Most likely will take the Seal. Volkswagen have never been an interesting brand for me. Ioniq looks strange :) Polestar is nice but to expensive for what you get - waiting for Polestar 4. BMW not that interesting and feels very old and legacy product for me.
Polestar 4 entered production today
@@Kurre. Yes, I guess we have to wait at least to summer 2024 to receive it in Europe. Best guess autumn 2024. We will see how it compares to whatever car I might have then 😊
Thing for me is that the Model 3 is the full package. Safe. Quiet. Stylish. Amazing stereo. Efficient. Phenomenal tech/software. Incredible App. Great battery management and safety. And, the after sales support from Tesla has been superb for us. It’s the most remarkable car we’ve ever owned.
I think the final thing to compare is in value for money!
que lux por el millon de vistas para todos gracias .......
i5 seemed a lot quieter in the video than the id7, and lacking the hatch it should really have a lot less road noise. Surprised id7 was found to be more luxurious.
This car not have gear shift how to change gear bro
In Canada, the 4th driving mode is actually SNOW it put the car in permanent 4wd with equal power front and back It also limit regen to level 1 and the power delivery is about equivalent to the ECO mode... BTW the car is great in the sow.... Cheers
I love Thomas's opinion on the artificial sound and the concept of the "Mother's" heartbeat relating to a more guttural sound. Spaceship sounds are ok, but more options are better.
Test drove BYD Seal RWD and Tesla 3 Dual Motor within days of each other- the BYD was my choice, by a long way.
Im going to drive them back to back again because so many reviewers have said 3 handles much better but that was not my experience, and I drove both on my favourite twisty back roads and motorway... interior more my taste, as Android user, it linked up seamlessly while charging through my thick phone case wirelessly... Just way preferred the Seal.
The name is awful but then I feel like Im wearing a red MAGA cap when driving a Tesla...
I gather over air software updates have improved a lot of the alert noises etc etc
thanks for the feedback! Still waiting that BYD Seal offers animal free seating as well ... maybe the facelift will improve that next year
BYD for me
You get more torque instead of power cause emotors produce torque from the start, power builds up with rpm, or speed
To be honest the nicest car by far is the BYD seal......by far
My wish was BMW I4 but was too expensive so I bought Tesla Y
I like Ioniq 6.
I ve drove model 3 highland
The new Model 3 is extraordinary. Smooth. Quiet. Efficient. Safe. Amazing stereo. Beautifully appointed. An already brilliant and beautiful EV just got even better ❤❤❤
Model 3 looks like a basic ass car. Looks like a mall cop car 😂 its very ugly. Not sleek or aggresive in anyway. Looks like an AI generated car so dull and boring inside and out
TESLA IS PURE GARBAGE
Beautiful ev? 😂😂😂
Check the new ludicrous version (performance variant) that will be annouced quite soon, it already showed different bumpers and overal more sportier styling. I think it's a great looking car, even tho it's quite bland and empty.
It’s amazing that Tesla still wins these tests. They are so far ahead in the game. Sure, other brands are coming but it will take several years to overtake Tesla.
Yes, all EVs are always compared to Tesla. For some reason people are triggered by Tesla. 🤷🏻♂️😂
Yeah, so you’re assuming Tesla is going to stay where they are in order for the other ones to catch up. Are you nuts? That’s not how business works. By the time they catch up to Tesla, Tesla will have far more superior batteries, and even better technology.
@@masisoganesyan9048 Comprehensive reading is a must…
Polestar is luxary car.
I have the Highland. It take a few weeks then its no peoblem without stalks. But its a taste. Now with EU ban on Chinese cars. Well that is a different thing. We will love to tell.
BYD without thinking.
Teslas make better EVs than any automobile manufacturer in the world in my opinion. I have had my 2019 Tesla Model 3 for 4.5 years.
It's crazy that i will NOT buy a model 3 just because of the lacks of parking sensors. It's just a too big deal breaker. The front bonnet of the model 3 in particulary long, you can't see sh*t. And where I live, it's impossible to not bump something with a car like this.
Skip forward 10 years. Will you comment; It's crazy that I will NOT buy a particular car because I actually have to drive it..?
Tesla is pure junk anyways. It's a virus in California. Go for the ID.7 from a real automotive company who's been around for decades.
But finnaly which the best choice ?
It depends if you have to work for your money Seal or Model 3, if money is not the issue, go for an EQS or poor mans EQS an ID 7.
BYD Seal. :) Tesla i have not even considered because service sucks, 4-6 weeks waiting and warranty, nothing is tesla´s fault! 4000 euros for repairing heating. Here in Finland. BYD Seal 50000 euros and Tesla Perf 60000 euros...
Tesla 3 highland is the best period
I bought Seal and not M3. When u need to open the glove box using the screen this is how tesla had gone way too far with technology.
BMW and Mercedes are the most luxurious
Sometimes nerdy specs matter less than the overall experience
Crazy that you would consider ID7, it may have improved from a VW perspective, but it still falls way behind on the most important parameters, slow charging 175kw max, it´s crazy heavy, 2,25T when weighed IRL, options that needed adding, to compare to BYD/TESLA is another €6K, and the software, yes better, but still terrible.and VW quality is also terrible.
Defo aspects, yeah. Ride was very good though, first leasing prices however are disappointing expensive indeed!
In Denmark the price with 2 options, making it comparable is €72K, A tesla model 3 is €46K, BYD Seal is €47K just not in same category@@autogefuehl
VW might do better leasing rates later. But at this moment they re pretty crazy indeed
Tesla is pure garbage.
Tesla is pure garbage are you simply one of those people that needs to fit in and have what everyone else has????
Best interior was Ioniq's... best exterior Bmw, Best engineering Tesla
The best value for money is Seal !
In my country, Seal is almost half the price of Model 3. No brainer.
I can't believe Chinese cars now put a real competition to European cars lol
What a time to live...
In the world of EVs, Chinese companies such as BYD definitely give European legacy auto makers a run for their money. And let's not forget BYD is currently the second largest EV battery manufacturer in the world, only next to CATL, which is also a Chinese company.
The Chinese will never take the cake. The ID.7 is the clear choice.
I have purchased seal but features are less compared to Tesla
Ioniq 6 is by far the best bang for buck when it comes to quality, fit and finish and also tech, I've never owned a vehicle that has all this tech without paying for 7k options on top of price of car. We haven't even mentioned the brilliant range and 18 minute charging. It's a brilliant car and I'd recommend anyone in the market to test drive one immediately and if possible when it's darker because man that car comes alive at night.
Tesla is pure garbage. You've falling into the trap of having to have something that everyone else has...
It looks so bad you can only drive it at night. 🤣🤣
ID.7 is #1 on the list... World Premiere 2024! TELSA WILL FALL!
@@nak8327 What a load of nonsense the ID wasn't world car of the year the ioniq 6 was and year before that ioniq 5 won world car. ID is the most boring looking ev on the market I'd rather have something that looks different than the same old boring normal.
Its bigger than a movie dude😅
I do wish that all car reviewers would find a larger vocabulary and stop using the word “premium” when “quality” or “high quality” would be accurate. The word “premium” has lost all meaning and value. This has happened to many words since the widespread use of social media.
BMW have been describing themselves as premium since last century, when German cars were called spartan, their notion of luxury was so different from U.S., it was about engineering.
I don’t agree with the lease price argument. I ordered a Tesla 3 because it was cheaper to lease than a Id.3.
Bad decision. TESLA IS PURE GARBAGE LOW CLASS VEHICLE.
New Tesla with no stalks for the indicators is tailor made for us Italian drivers : we never use indicators 😂
hehe =)
Your mistake is you bought a tesla very bad decision. The ID.7 is the clear winner here and actually looks like a real car. BMW comes in #2 then Polestar.
Sorry team byd wins here hands down
Next time talk about the financials. Who makes money with every cars, and who does not.
sorry, that was for the IONIC6...
