Believe or not this guy talking is so helpful and informative , I started following 2 weeks prior to my start date and this man did me justice , prepped me and gave a lot of helpful tips . Much appreciated bro you deserve any success coming your way , blessings to you and ya family bro !
I agree that the information is helpful. I'd like to add - Explore the area just incase there is traffic (accident, construction, etc) that might delay - have different routes you can take, and know the times it takes to drive them - food is secondary to being on time.
My advice: Get memory foam or gel shoe insoles. Get a badge reel instead of a lanyard. Keep your badge & other work stuff in your car. Get to work really early..the parking lot is massive. Learn how to use the A to Z app to fix being late (PTO instead of UPT). Don’t stress about your rate, just show up all the days you’re scheduled. They are glad to have enough people. You’re limited in the number of box cutters you can get/month. If someone borrows yours, get it back. Get to know your fluid intake needs, so you don’t get dehydrated but don’t have to pee all the time.
True. don't stress about the rate when starting out, since it makes the muscles ache more. Physically pushing yourself and worrying about rate when just beginning is painful. Also, always get full night sleep minimum 8 hours, and keep hydrated during work.
I just started in a new building. And all we’re doing is really stowing and My last job was at a grocery store so I was used to all the movements you make on this job so I don’t really get tired. It get hot which sucks cause I sweat a lot lmao.
Very helpful man. I'm a Part-time Seasonal Sortation Center Associate. I start this Saturday. Doing 16 hrs a week to "test the waters." And to decrease my chances of getting injured my first week. What's the average weight of boxes? I can lift 15 to 40 lbs pretty comfortably. 49+ lbs is injury zone for me
Congratulations on reaching your next goal! You deservew it! Thank you for all that is being shared about Amazon. It must be tough dealing with TOT when your stomach is doing summersaults (yes, I wanted to addd this in here, lol).
@@C11 RUUUNN!! lol :-) I used to clean in a retirement community where we were not supposed to go to the residents' restrooms for personal use. That was interesting.
For reals, #1 got me. Never been there, and i came upon a dirt road that looks like I shouldn't be there. Lead up to a undeveloped road and i popped out on the north side of Facility however, everyone comes in from the south side. My manager was chill, he blast music all night and bathroom and breakroom was right next door but stacking boxes for outbound shipment for 12 hours was not for me. I thought i'd try to work for the 30 days to transfer but my body was shaking the next day so I gave up and quit before I went to work because I knew I wasn't going to make it.
Congrats man! Love your content. My FC peak starts next week, and you saying that I don't have to worry about rates definitely calmed me down. I will definitely go at a quick pace, but not to the point where I am overworking myself, just enough to keep me away from that 5%!
I have a question I'm fixing to be 58 years old this is the first time I will have ever had a position on my feet this long I use a cane and I was told that they will make accommodations for me. Does anyone have an idea or has anyone worked with someone who had the periodically sit down or use a cane and what kind of accommodations they may make?
I think I replied to your comment earlier but yes, I can’t really say what your accommodation will be, but Amazon allows people with all types of disabilities and always accommodates them
I did the same thing with the break since I just transfer from another sorting facility lol But you should go to human resource at the facility they will help out.
I work at a chill ass Warehouse called Carlisle Food Services, you either pick on a cherry picker, put stuff away in the aisles, load trucks, or box small items… but I find myself watching Amazon videos everyday lol
@@C11 yeah I only make $16 at my job but it’s sooo chill, nobody on your back, I take 20 bathroom breaks, we work either 8-9 hours a day, & we come from every break a few minutes late, wether it’s paid or not, no one says anything
*the operations manager comment is spot on!! But I will say no news is good news, but having a manager who doesn’t talk to you much can make moving up more difficult. Also the deal with the 2nd break is your not clocked out so technically your not suppose to leave the Premises they should’ve handed you a guidebook when you went to your lunar class Oh man your bathroom situation stinks.. you must work at a smaller place (also at my location TOT (time off task) doesn’t become a problem until you hit 30 mins. But i is work at a huge facility and we have TONS of bathrooms
Funny thing about shout the area …. My very first day at Amazon’s I left and went to the gas station across the street from the fc and my car got stolen. My very first day at work. So take that advice. Now I’ve finished my first week and am using a rental car for 30 days and hopefully my car gets found not set on fire or my insurance can help me (doubtful). But yeah hope y’all have a better experience then me on your start at Amazon!

Just got hired with a shift of Mon. Tue. Thur. Fri. 7:30am to 6:00pm. If I were to get hit with a mandatory overtime day, do you think it will most likely be on Wednesday or Saturday?

Peak got me fucked up for this year, let me get hyped for for 50 hour work weeks Friday through Monday till the 26th of December. And I have a question to add on as well, I’m at meps currently and I’m supposed to work tomorrow but there’s no way I can come in because I’m in the process of getting my shipping dates. They cannot fire me because it’s against my rights and it’s by law too, how would I come about it to them Saturday morning before the start of my shift? Cause I don’t want my unpaid time being stripped from me.
@@C11 alright I’ll talk to them about it on Saturday then. I’m sure everything will be okay since my facility is so supportive about military service, appreciate all the help and tips you give out! You stand out far more than the other Amazon UA-camr’s!
I just started with Amazon when can I change the shift days and hours? I am working full time 8 hours a day Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I need to change the days and hours.
After 30 days you can apply for a transfer to change your schedule, but most sites aren’t accepting transfers during peak so you may have to wait until January if your site isn’t
It depends on how much work you’re getting. Sometimes you don’t get any small items which help a lot with small items. But try to stay under 15 and you should be fine.
Yeah, I’ve been doing it for a few months now so I don’t see why not! I might slow down to like two videos a week or even one if I start to run out of ideas, but as long as there’s ideas and news to talk about then yeah I’d love to continue multiple videos per week!
It might end once peak is over however its all up to business needs really. As for how to stay on after the season there’s no real way to stay on tbh, if they need you they need you, if not they’ll let you go. If they need the seasonals they’ll pretty much keep all of them regardless of how good of a worker they are or aren’t
