Some lovely stuff you showed here and a lot of unknowns ( to me anyway).
Loved your story about your friend and finding the Coltrane album, very moving and thought provoking.I'm a great believer in serendipity like that and it's special when it happens.
    All the best.Rob.😉👍

Chris, you have outdone yourself with this vinyl tag. It has taken me over an hour to watch with all of the side trips to try and listen to your shown albums, such as the Barry Schrader. I have been trying to collect albums with Sergey Kuryokhin, so very nice to see Subway Culture. At least I can say that I have seen a copy, now! Such wonderful diversity in all of this music. I look on Discogs and see that there are two versions of the Harmony of the World, and both are on UA-cam for me to sample. Thanks for bringing all of this music to light for me. Take care, Chris

That Schrader is a buchla masterpiece imo..oh you know Sergey nice..ya subway culture is a real rarity unfortunately was lucky to find that!..diversity is a good thing I think..😀...hope all is your way and glad you enjoyed the video..much love chris

Hi Chris- great to see you. I had given up watching vinyl tags as there were so many and also, I created the non vinyl tag which required a lot of watching. I had to make an exception for this. The records were amazing as always. I sampled some as I went and there was some truly beautiful music- the Jolly, Atlantis, Reece and Aqua Sansa especially.
But, all were overshadowed by the story about your friend. I don't think I will ever see that album shown again without thinking about it. Beautiful.
It's so good to see you well and safe and thanks so much for sharing.
    Blessings and peace.
    Alan

Hey there brother..no doubt about all those videos..lol..I figured it was something I could do because it was structured...it is winter here so I am stuck inside anyway..lol.
All the records you mentioned are definitely in your wheelhouse imo.
I know ethno is not really your thing but if you do happen across a copy of that primitive man lp pick it up and give it a go..truly a deep journey.
I figured you would be someone who the coltrane story would resonate with..probably worth making the video too share that..
If the mood strikes again I might make another one soon..
As I always know there is a small contingent of folks like you that enjoy them..hope you guys are hanging in there over there..the sun always rises eventually ❤..much love chris

beautiful story about your friend, thanks for sharing. as always, fascinating music here. the dizzy record came to my attention a few months ago, very interesting and unexpected. thanks for reminding me about Mcbride, I recall you showed her before and I really need to try to find her mysterious records. I have a copy of sansa coming in the mail, a long time grail, amazing one. stay warm and take care chris.

Ya figured the time was good..I watched a few tag videos and they seemed fun and structured enough.
The mcbride I have is my favorite of the ones I heard but would pick up any I came across regardless..
It was nice too share the story it illustrates how deeply we are all connected on some level.
Nice on the sansa..was outside my price range if not for a friend gifting it to me..I have had more than a few records like that..deeply appreciative..much love chris

So great to see you back Chris - and what a re-entry! Fabulous selections - the Dizzy Reece really piqued my interest...the Pete Jolley has been a long time want and I must have been made aware of it here on the VC. Wonderful telling of the story of your friend and her beautiful spirit. Wow - I never knew Dereck had collaborated with Laaraji! Ah - the Minnie Ripperton record - it was a special request from my daughter for her Christmas present this year..I like the sound of that Harmony of the World record - we need harmony now more than ever! Much love to you

Hey there brother..good to hear from you as I know you guys are still shut down across the pond.
It is easing up here a bitt thankfully.
Ya that dizzy reece is a good one and an interesting detour for him.
Used to be a cheap lp because nobody knew the deal and the cover does it no favors..lol
Oh ya that jolly would be something you would enjoy quite a bit me thinks..what a fantastic record!
I love minnie one of my favorite singers and as you know a real life angel when she was with us.
I know your daughter will love it..😀
Ya the dereck and laaraji piece is quite a trip!..unfortunately will never see the light of day it seems.
Do you know the kamau dauhood I showed?..you really need to check that out if not.
Lol..indeed the world needs more harmony not sure if that lp would provide the kind you are referring to..lol..much love chris

Awesome video Chris. Your picks always expand my mind and for that I'm grateful. You are right about that Pete Jolly record. Really great funky music, BUT... I can't get over the fact that it seems like a bunch of fragmented songs. Like he recorded a bunch of demos and released an album of really great unfinished songs. As soon as they settle into a groove, he prematurely ends the track! I wish he would have picked a few of his favorites and let the tracks breathe. Still, definitely worth adding to my ever-evolving brain list. Thanks again for opening us all up with your collection.

Hey brother..I can see that for sure.
It was originally like 6 hours of tape they had to trim down..lol..
I love the organic quality it has fragment as it may be and totally unique for him as well.
Well I am glad you checked it out and enjoyed it on some level and got something of use from the video 😀.

I am happy that this interested you enough to make a video because we got to benefit from it. The story of how you found the Coltrane album was tops. It could have not been found by a nicer person. Absolutely fantastic Tag video Chris. I have some new titles to check out. Thanks to you. I hope that we will see you do another video soon. And another...

So glad to see you back. The cover of the Armenian album shows a "Khachkar" which is a carved memorial stone used as a headstone (grave site) or as a memorial marker. They are also referred to as Armenian crosses. Prevalent throughout Armenia and in parts of Turkey. However due to numerous conflicts with neighbours they are often the first items to be destroyed and desecrated in cultural retaliation. Very sad to see such ancient memorials senselessly destroyed . Great to see you again!

Chris, nice seeing you back on camera! As usual you show a whole bunch of interesting stuff, and many I’ve now wantlisted. That Subway Culture especially sounds up my alley (I just started sampling it from youtube, sounds very promising!). I see the two have another collab record that is a bit more affordable, Mad Nightingales In The Russian Forest, also on Leo, maybe that’s good too. Will investigate! I do know that Dizzy Reece record, and enjoyed some of it. The Suite Meditation resembles his CD Nirvana: Zen Of The Jazz Trumpet, which I really love. It presents previously unreleased stuff from 1968. So he might have been involved in such sounding sessions on and off for a decade. These two are really the only two I’ve listened to by Reece, so I don’t know much more... That Armenian record I wantlisted after your IG post, looks great, and yeah bunch others here too, lol. Alot to look into. Thanks for putting us on to all these rare gems. Especially those that don’t cost a fortune, lol. Much Love, Johan

Glad you enjoyed brother in some ways that is good enough for me 😀.
Yes that subway culture would definitely be for you..
I actually need mad nightingales myself!..that is the first lp I heard of Sergey's actually..very similar in spirit.
Nice on the dizzy I have had that record for many years.
Was unaware of the cd from 1968 so you could be right then!
Regardless seemed to be a good choice for the question.
The Armenian lp is very direct and simple but also complex in a way..
Beautiful lp not expensive as you have seen..😀.
The experimental music box is on yt in full as well if you wanted to sample it..seek out that music of primitive man as well..a deep journey you might appreciate.
      Much love chris

Brother Chris, he appears! Happy to hear your take on this. It's fun to do. So much here as always. I have that 'Lost Atlantis' on CD. Appreciate the reminder. :-) Wow, Dizzy and Pete Jolly! Need to hear both. Beautiful story of your co-worker friend. We're often sent to each other in our lives in some way, form....and the music is too it seems. Ah yes, the Laraaji & Dereck. I think this is the first time in 8 years I've ever seen you showing CDs. :-D Ooh.....'Aqua Sansa'...another must hear! Hey....I could 'get' The harmony of the world'....under the right conditions.... ;-) Happy to see you. Hopefully again sooner if you're feeling it. Peace n love. -Carm

The dizzy is a Corker you would love side two especially and the jolly is a special lp go listen to it!.
I knew you had atlantis on cd such a great record.
Lol I used to have a couple thousand cd's at one point..cd player broke never replaced and a friend offered me big money for my cd collection so I took and and spent it in vinyl..lol.
I choose harmony because the majority of people might find it a head scratcher obviously you are not that majority 😉.
Depends how well this video is received if I make some more..
      I can't just make them for you..😁.

Great to finally see you again brother-Happy 2021! Franko Richmond looks cool-the cover pic looks like it was taken right on the main drag in Woodstock as i've been there myself quite a few times. I'm totally unaware of him but he sure sounds very cool....
I love those university albums of experimental music, especially early electronic stuff like from Columbia/Princeton. Man, that 'Lost Atlantis' sounds awesome as well.... Dizzy Reece is somebody else i'm unaware of but sure know the other supporting musicians on that album... Oh Stockhausen & Van't Hof, wow. I love Van't Hof especially and have been listening to him again recently...
Once again, as always, lots of note-taking by me regarding the stuff you've shown here.
Really enjoyed hearing the personal story in this one..really nice...
Great seeing you again, I hope 2021 is treating you and family well..

The aqua sansa lp is fantastic and highly recommended it is on cd I believe as well so no excuse not to pick it up..lol.
