Hello friend, nice show again. Your music knowledge is unIimited. love Don Cherry so that backround is perfect. Actually listened yesterday Cherry in Paris online, dont have the vinyl yet. Karelia was surprising as Iam from Finland so I could find that record here even in some flea markets. In Karelias first run in early 70s there was also playing Edward Vesala who is very famous and awarded jazzman in Finland. Karelia in finnish means the area we lost after the war eighty years ago but it is also name of the beer.

Hey petri..nice to hear from you again brother..glad you liked the defries..😃.
Cherry for me was one of the masters 💖..his 70's work in particular is a high point.
Not surprised you know that karelia lp..I have another one as well..
Really lovely stuff..I did know they played with vesala I should have mentioned that..lol..vesala another master I have a few of his lp's as well..I really like finnish progressive music of all genre's..thanks for the background on the band name as well..always a pleasure to hear from you and chat a bit..much love chris

I have Cinemascope. Great fusion record indeed. Cool Zanov too. Gamelan in the New World sounds fire. Killer Joe Farrell. Always interesting on CTI (I have two others). Superb player.

Oh nice..that zanov is top notch imo!
Both son of lion lp's are wonderful.
Ya I forgot how good that was..lmao..Ferrell always brings something good to the table a bit of an underappreciated guy me thinks..😉..much love chris

Heya brother, Happy seeing you more regularly as you're feeling it. For sure can hear the Cherry-ness of the bgm. :-)
Have been getting more interested in MPS as of late, and never knew they did 2-fers. Are you shocked I'd have any interest in Zanov.... ? :-D I like that too with certain labels...like CTI, where they do something somewhat "against type" for the label. Quite intrigued by the Michel album. Happy spins as always good sir. Peace n love. -Carm

Hey hey brother..indeed on the defries..the zanov is a no brainer for you..lol..ya mps did a few mostly in the late 70's nice way to get two for the price of one..😃.
Me too on labels trying something different or against the usual.
Oh the grailler is really nice you should definitely seek that out..😃.
Hopefully I will see at the show sunday perhaps..😃..much love chris

Wonderful Chris. Really really dig that Defries LP that was playing. A really cool perspective and agree with the Cherry comparison. Probably why I love it. The Zanov LP feels like it's up my street too. Steve Marcus on Flying Dutchman I'll have to check out. Ive definitely seen that and may be able to pull a copy tomorrow lol. I always mean to check out one of his LPs on Vortex since there's some blazing LPs there but haven't done so. Yeah if I see any Gamelan LP I will have a listen plus if it's a Folkways you know you're good. Great to see another update!

Good evening Chris. Nice to see you again. Sounds like Zanov was really immersed in the whole electronic scene. From pop music to diving into Edgar, Klaus and the seventies Berlin music scene. That Steve Marcus sounds killer. Or blazing as you stated. The name sounds familiar. In fact I think I may have him on an album that he did with Larry Coryell. I got to check that out. You would never think that it was a jazz fusion album by looking at the cover. Chalk up another fusion album that you turned me onto to. I think the count is up to about 63 at this point. {smile} I got to check out that Farrell 'Outback'. I love CTi pressings. One of my favorite labels. I have the Quartet album from 1970 on CTi. An amazing lineup. Chick, McLaughlin, Holland and De Jonette. Secret City is Cherry sounding? It is criminal that you are not posting at least once a month Chris. You have so much incredible music to pass on. As you most likely know Fred is back. So I have been grabbing all that I can from him too. Thanks for sharing these. It has been a complete pleasure~

Hey rob..I do believe marcus played with coryell and yes you would probably love this one.
      Same with outback as well.
The music in the background recalls don cherry's 70's work so if you like that world fusion/jazz that defries is for you..😃..I always enjoy fred's videos 😃..he is our brother after all..
      Much love chris
