In this video, we’re going to unbox and take a quick look at the all new Loongze B51 DBC-1 Air reel. This reel was purchased, at a discount, with the channel’s funds. If you are looking to purchase this reel, it is currently only available to the international market. It does not appear it is for sale in the US just yet. Never thought I’d see a Chinese reel be so advanced. I’m sure us retailers will jack up the price.
Hey Tim! Haha you’d be surprised… China actually leads the world in terms of volume and tech for batteries now. These digitally controlled reels are just the beginning as well… there’s way more options that will be coming soon whether we like it or not. As far as US retailers price hiking… I certainly hope not as the asking price is already quite high imho… cheers my friend!

@@IronMikeyT hey Mikey! I really hope that’s not where loongzeusa takes the reel… only time will tell though as they’re probably going to “announce” the reel at icast. Likely will need to drop my short term impressions video soon going over some of the pros and cons of the reel. It’s not all butterflies and roses with this reel. Cheers my friend!

one thing i learned about china bfs gear, give them some time to figure it out before buying one. AND wait for you to review it. some yuoutubers are obviously pushing certain products based on their relationship with the company and not based on their actual opinions/objective facts.

Hey doc! Yes! This has no battery and Bluetooth connection and so, in theory, is a much simpler and more straightforward reel to use. Cheers my friend and hope all is well!
Looking forward to the review, personally I wouldn't want to have to have to use the mini app in the chat app. So perhaps I would pick this one up after viewing your review video.

Yea, the app is super powerful and has some awesome features but the implementation isn’t the most intuitive and I had some major gripes about it… That said, I do miss some of those features like EM assist. Anywho, looking forward to putting the reel to work and letting you guys know how it goes! Cheers my friend!
First! When is the non-dc size 50 coming out?
Hey larsey! Haha nice! As far as your question is concerned, I don’t have any concrete dates but I know that loongze plans on releasing a few more models before they get to their “bfs” reel’s production. I think they have two or three models slated to be released before they get to it. The good news is that I was told it might only be a couple months but who knows… timelines always seem to fluctuate and change. Cheers my friend!
The spool is almost 3g lighter than B100's one, so I hope that it can handle very small lures(under 1g..) better!

Hey keun! Will do! I did a bit of backyard casting and I wasn’t too enthused with the sub 1g casting performance sadly… I think the reel really needs the EM assist feature to excel at that. I need to do some more cast testing and get some use before I can speak more to its overall casting performance. Cheers my friend!
Wanted to let you know about the Doviello HICC50 and how low of a weight lure I could cast with the deep spool . I put it on a sougayilang 6ft ul rod (1/16-3/8) with about 100 yards of Berkley 6lb floro. (I turned the reel handle 110 times) and the lightest lure was a rapala #7 original floater which I casted about 20 yards (I'm 6ft 4in)out of 3 cast one was 18 ,20 and 23 paces.I hope this will help others who were interested .

Where did you get those handle knobs for the silver feather from?! I hate the stock ones lol
Was the swap over difficult?
Hey Mrmala! The swap was easy and the knobs were from a gomexus handle. I believe they are carbon fiber knobs and I can’t quite recall the sizing on the silver feather handle knob shafts as to whether they’re daiwa or Shimano style setups. Cheers my friend!
Men that was small...i like that yet my wallet says "no we can't, forget about it" 🤣🤣. By the way for me the 01 is the right category, i mainly fish to avoid using my phone. Not to fish and then frequently using your phone to adjust it, innovative but less fun... hope i can win one of those kestrels... my valiant eagle 2 has no brother 8n my possession hehej cheers my friend

@co-polyLINE hey Irvin! I actually don’t quite know what the gyroscope will be used for… Maybe to track metrics like how fast your casting stroke is and acceleration/speed? I dunno to be honest 😅. Sorry about that and cheers my friend!

The bluetooth is cool, but i think it’s kinda troublesome to change the setting.
Hey jimon! Yea I agree with you on that. I think there are some major improvements that can be made to their dbc-2 system that overall. I really like the simplicity of this design but I do wish there were some features like the EM assist function. Cheers my friend!

Is this model available in gold color? Is it available in some “standard” cast control ,, ie non- digital?,, ie no battery?

Smaller than DC airlite?
Hey tohae! Yes this reel is much smaller in size than the B100 DBC airlite. The sideplate alone is a good deal smaller and this is more in line with how a low profile reel palms in hand. They did a good job with the size reduction imho. Cheers my friend!
Is there a price and release date?
Hey Yong! It’s released internationally for $249 afaik. I have no information regarding the US as I do not have contacts at bates/loongzeusa. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!

I will say the IPT is a bit on the slow side and I kind of wish they had gone for a bit higher pick up rate… However, I am enjoying the simplicity of the new brake dial! Cheers my friend!

Hey upstreamer! Yea $249 is still not cheap but it is much cheaper than the dbc-2 model price tag of $339. Still not cheap but it’s a fully CNCd round reel with a digital braking system so while I also don’t like the high price it’s somewhat justified.
