Hey vand! Yea… just trying to paint a realistic picture of this reel so that people don’t get caught off guard and also so maybe loongze will address these issues. Cheers my friend!
Great vid as always, Peter! As you know, I went with the Silver Feather instead based on your reviews. The money difference was a big influencing factor as well. I think I made the right decision, however I can't deny that the Loongze is one great looking reel!
Hey Dan! Yep the loongze b50 has an amazing frame but in my experience it feels like the reel is just a tad unpolished and could have some areas addressed. Good choice on the SF! Cheers my friend!
Hey tj! Yea it is quite slow but it could be a plus for certain styles of fishing and a con for others. Just a matter of how you want/need to use it. Cheers my friend!
Thanks for doing this! Yours is left hand, isn’t that 51 not 50? I love that drag star, it’s the best! I wonder if you pushed the lure weights up if the “beginner” brake mode would be more useful? Last thing, please keep us up to speed on this company and any round reels,,, they have done a better job in their entry into the market than most other companies
Hey David! Yep you are correct! My model is called the B51 but the 1 is just a LH designation so it’s still “technically” a B50. Anywho, regarding your question about beginner mode… no even with higher weights the braking profile is set to heavily brake the second half of the projectile motion of the lure. It’s pretty significant in how much distance you lose using that mode. Finally, I do plan on reviewing more if they continue to release bfs oriented reels =). Cheers my friend!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL thanks. I bought the gold one and switched out knobs ,,,, I’m wondering how long the life of the battery will last,, maybe 5 years or so??,, I’ll bet their will be after market conversion kits at some point to make it magnetic brakes? Maybe, hope so. My main reason for purchase is my love for small round reels,, I’ve had a Calcutta 51 since 92’ and am amazed at how tiny this thing is. Loongze needs credit for creating a marvel with this reel and I hope they work out any kinks and keep going with this model. Appreciate your work.
Hi, please tell me which reel is better to buy for the rod 2,5-10g. There is a choice between Kastking kestrel elite and Valiant eagle 2 pro and Soloking acura pro. I will be very grateful.
Hey mey! Between the three reels you listed I would probably look to the v2pro as the “best” of the three. It has a good price, is capable of casting the weights you listed and even lower and feels the most premium imho. Cheers my friend!
ive been backlashing like crazy with with .6gou. i cant readily find .8gou, but that's what loongze recommended. im going to try 1gou to see if it helps with the backlashing.
Hey uber! Interesting that they recommend a certain line diameter… ooc which loongze have you talked to, loongze(international) or loongzeusa? Or I guess where did you see this recommendation? If you are backlashing heavily is it possible to let me know what lure weight you are casting and what rod you are using? Also, are you using a leader? Cheers my friend!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I didn’t reach out directly, I just saw that on the loongzeusa website there was a spec chart for the b50. As for lure weight, I’m throwing a weightless 3” slim stick baits. I’m not sure what the exact lure weight is, my guess is about 3g
Hey Joe! Yep I think it would be able to cast 1.77g quite easily. I’d probably say this reel is comfortable casting down to around 1g. I was having some issues going below that. Cheers my friend!
I’m thinking about getting into bfs fishing and have around $200-250 to spend on the rod and reel. What’s a good combo that I can buy? I’m mostly looking to micro bass fishing things like 1/32 - 1/4 oz. It’d be mostly micro chatterbaits, micro crank baits, and mini spinnerbaits.
@@TheBoboNetworkYT hey thebobo! Hm… if you are comfortable with ordering off of aliexpress I think looking at the tsurinoya dragon rod, the purelure zero, and the Purelure cedan rods might be good choices. I think the dragon might be a better choice though as it’s a tubular tipped rod vs the solid tips of the other two mentioned. As for reels, if you are ok with an aluminum framed reel the purelure silver feather elite will fit nicely or the purelure silver feather air would do nicely for a carbon framed reel. @@davidcloyd1296 hey david! Hm I wonder if you switch out of beginner mode to advanced or master mode? If you see the lights changing blue red and green then you’re in the advanced mode. Hey elmacho! Yes I have tried the Mansory and can’t really recommend that reel. For some reason the spool friction(most call this the spool tension shaft but it is incorrect to call it that) shaft does not allow for a gradual adjustment as a secondary brake and acts more like an on off switch almost. It makes tuning the brakes very difficult and it doesn’t cast very well in my experience. The repeater is a reel that I do have but I never opened the box to look at it. I almost forgot that I have that reel. Will take a look later today. Cheers my friend!
