I, at 66 years old, would like to thank these two men for, sure listened to them for years, for being. Their music is immortal.

Same age, now 67. For me this is the best rendition because of the passion in their voices but particularly because of the expression and finesse of the keyboard player. He is the real hero of this recording.

Turning 70 years young in June.. this song really moves my heart, because my now deceased brother, Dennis, " Turkey" Archer played this album, over & over & over in the mid 60s, down in the basement of our house in Saginaw Michigan.
I love how Paul falls back at 4:13 to give Art his moment and then when Art realizes brings him back with him as Paul's clapping for him. The respect between these two. Such gentlemen
Came here to say the same thing. When Paul walks backward out of view, it's a perfect moment that I have played a thousand times. Hats off to the camera person and the editor/switcher for that shot.

My wife and I were there for that concert. It was the second time seeing S&G live, the first time was at Forrest Hills Tennis Stadium about 1970 or 71, just after Bridge was released. Awesome!

Friends? I doubt these two guys have anything close to a friendly relationship. Body language and story speak against that.
They may not be friends, but there is a mutual respect shown. They both know they would've needed a different path without the other. The path they chose put them both in esteemed territory.
Tom, I think they have a mutual beneficial working relationship. That's probably as far as I would take it without the benefit of having an intimate relationship with any of these two fabulous artists.
I am an employee of Madison Square Garden with the technology and sound department, can tell you there was no auto tune involved. They just have older voices. :)
Agreed...I've listened to this extensively and there is simply no autotune.
+Lee Keels I've seen another video of the same performance and on this one they have used auto tune but only slightly for a couple of high notes, they still sang amazingly 😊

People busting on Art's voice on this? Seriously? I am shocked and stunned that he is this good at age 68 here. No one's voice remains exactly the same at 70 as it was like 20. That being said.. Art still sounds like Art.. still has that signature sound and Paul sounds great too.

I don't think people get that a person's voice changes when they get old. I guess people still expect that they would still sound like their 20 something selves. Like you said, Art sounds good for his age....you can still hear the passion and emotion in his voice and it's still angelic as ever.
I don't think Art sounds horrible here, maybe not exactly the same, the only difference is he is singing at a lower key than the key he usually sings at. He still sounds very good actually. I think he smoked a lot which is why his voice might sound a little dark because of that. But it isn't terrible. His voice is just at a lower key in pitch. It still sounds great and he is still able to hit the notes, just one key and pitch down. Very good Art! Glad you are coming back!!!!!

Paul, the songwriter and artist. Art, the voice. These were the real strengths of each man individually. Together they performed songs that spoke for and to a generation.
I'm grateful that it was the generation i grew up being a part of.
It's miracle that two more than 60 years old people can sing a song like this.
They are both in their 70's,always have been utterly amazed by their songs even as a child.

Man, so much respect to Simon at 4:10 when he holds Garfunkel's back to give the part and seeing his lips sing as he walks backwards.
And the way Garfunkel then grabs Simon at the end of the song as to say 'you were a big part of this too'. Love it
Paul Simon always said he wrote this song specifically to showcase Art’s voice. He wrote the solos into it for Art to sing.
Well he wrote it for Artie so he’s like yeah I’ll sing one verse but you can finish it like always
You have to remmerber Simon wrote all this songs, but with our Garfunkel voice the songs who be nothing I sam them in concert 3 times
That's my favorite moment and I've watched it more times than I can count. It's the perfect camera angle with Paul backing up out of frame. Kudos to the camera crew.
You know, I have had a pretty bad day today. Nothing went right at work, my kids are struggling with college and I can't help them, and I' navigating the standard health challenges that most 60 year olds deal with. I ran across this video and watched it all the way through. None of that crap seems to be anything major now. These two men are legendary.

Awesome how music soothes the soul for you. At 6O I had my health turn on me. Lung cancer (able to conquer) clogged major artery my BRILLIANT doc grafted and a hyper thyroid we've been able to calm. Thru it all I used music to calm the fear. Putting our trust in total strangers is so hard but they earned my trust. My 3 girls are thru college and strong. I used to say I'd work til I died bc I loved my career but retired last yr And now hang out with my grandkids.
Hope you're remaining calm still with music as you walk thru some strife. It's hard to be powerless but seems you know the way to calm...peace to you Mark. Just walk towards retirement. Lawdy it's great 😃.

This song, along with “The Sounds of Silence “ bring back so many fond memories! I’m 70 years old. As a kid , I would spend time staying at our family farm for a few weeks every Summer. I was 12 or 13 the first time I heard “The Sounds.....”, along with my surrogate Grandmother. I was amazed that someone “her age” liked that song!😆So many happy memories! I tell adults in their 20,s and 30,s to cherish and make the most of their time now, because they will make their best memories while they’re young! That certainly has been my experience, and most of the people I know in their later years! 🤔🤔

Here I am, a middle age man. Half my life behind me and hopefully at least half in front of me. I listen to all types of music but find myself listening to this song in particular every so often. So few hits between this duo but oh what great songs they are. Whatever differences led them to separate, it is great to see them come together, sing this masterpiece, and show the ultimate respect to one another at the end. This comment will be buried with the rest, but wanted to give the credit these two deserve.

Depends on what you are listening to. This is legendary but there is also tons of great songs produced nowadays.. but if you're talking about the mainstream pop culture you're probably right.

+Jasder If we're talking mainstream music, then you're right. If you're talking music in general, you're wrong. There is still a lot of great Music being produced. It's just that the really passionat people have moved to different genres. For example, the rock/metal scene has grown into something really great, while some other genres like classic folk-rock has dissapeard. That's because the same kind of people who once wrote comfortably numb and sound of silence are now writing music in totally different genres.
See Joe Walsh's interview. Music is (including voice ) is run threw a computer until the pitch is perfect. Musicians can't hardly make a living due to pirates.
I think they´re both pretty good, and an amazing duo when singing harmonies, but Art´s voice is just out of this world. If angels could sing, I bet they would sound like Art here.
