Looks like the ohlins dampers and springs solve the problems created by the extremely failure-prone mag-ride Delphi R8's dampers (at $2300 per shock & spring!). If only Ohlins was able to solve the problem created by the R8's A/C compressor that consistently fails as well. It's apparently driven off a shaft from the engine and -- if not run ALL the time -- it cracks and fails (and sometimes necessitates an engine removal to access, remove, and replace. Crazy).
It’s amazing how shocks can change the car’s overall appearance and drivability I have replaced the mag ride in my mk2 tt 2x in the rear and now have to do the front and the price went up by a grand Audi dealership wants 4 grand to do the front for that money I can get the best coil over package 😂 I heard that there a company that can repair the mag ride so time will tell but I like this option in this video

Still love the Ohlins setup! It gives you a lot of confidence in the corners. The only thing that is limiting me are the pzero tires. Unfortunately video I shot reviewing the ohlins in the canyons didn’t turn out well. I’ll get to reviewing the ohlins setup in the canyons again pending time.
What is the resistor tie-wrapped to the frame at 7:47 in the video for? Is this the way to prevent dash lights regarding your mag ride shocks no longer being installed? I have a 2014 V10 and am looking to replace my mag ride.
Yes it’s to prevent the Mag ride light on the dash from lighting up.

Does changing dampening require an alignment again?
No, changing compression or dampening does not require an alignment.
