    that entire thing from "yet one among them understands" sounds like Eris made this weapon, and its essentially Netzeraks "Touch of Malice" with pretty much the same idea behind it that Oryx had. Just that instead of having Oxyx`s power in form of the heart, Netzeraks is split into his reliquarys. Collecting them all and melding theire power might reform Netzerak throu expression of whatever aspect he was going for. Also as for his alligence, his weapons seems a lot brighter than the other darkness weapons. Maybe he was also starting to use the light at some point and became a threat to the witness throu this. It`s weapon trait is also called "Traitor`s Vessel", so there`s that.

    - based on last week’s dialogue this reliquary contains a power similar to that of the TRAVELER!
    - based on the “cry mutiny” loretab, the object pulses with intermittent light! as well as it is a pure form of darkness as misraaks said, would nicely go with nezarec’s description “the purest light, the darkest hour”

    • @Moobeus
      @Moobeus 2 роки тому +33

      The Witness doesn’t follow the sword logic, atleast not the same one that the hive/worm gods created/follow/interpreted(we don’t know specifically). The Witness doesn’t have a problem with giving and resurrection, and he actually basically saves Rhulk from death which itself would go against the hives sword logic. In fact it is made clear that the Witness considers the Traveler to be the one taking, not him. Not to mention Nezerac has likely been killed and revived many times before as there is lore denoting his 4th tomb, ie he has died 4 times potentially. In addition the Scorn do not follow the sword logic and are actually able to be resurrected as a result of the darkness power they possess. All of the lore post Witch Queen has pointed to an indication that oryx and the hive partially misunderstood the teachings of the witness. Rhulk doesn’t even have a throne world as he considers that power to be beneath him, a power gained through the hive sword logic. The Witness says in Beyond light “But where the light takes, the dark gives…in the dark there is only life” the witness considers himself to be the one giving, where as giving according to the sword logic is the worst thing you can do. What I think is that the Hive interpreted the Witnesses teaching as that you must prove your worth through death into order to achieve the final shape which will be you. Whereas what his actual teaching was that you should kill not for yourself but in order to *give* others the chance to prove themselves. This is even proved in the lore story we get of Rhulk where he strategically kills the Ahslid in order to try and turn Uun into another disciple. He is not mindlessly killing like Oryx in order to strengthen himself, he is very specifically killing in order to try and strengthen someone else (he says this himself), to *give* someone else the chance to ascend. He specifically fails because the Ahslid are wiped out, which to Oryx would be a triumph. This is the fatal misunderstanding of Oryx and the Hive, and why I believe Oryx was not selected as a disciple, but merely a tool the Witness used. He wasn’t worthy of the witness’s true lesson of irrelevance, in fact if anything Oryx thought the opposite, that he should become the most important, the only, thing in the universe.

    One thing that Drifter mentions as being in the reliquaries is "a knot of old hair," and for some reason, that got me thinking.
    It's definitely far from anything concrete, but do any other races have hair besides Humans? Fallen and Hive have more of an exoskeleton, Vex obviously don't, and Cabal, while usually armored, don't appear to have any from the times we see their skin.
    This got me further thinking: what if Nezarec was the Human disciple? Obviously it's not a solid theory yet, but it's interesting to consider. Calus being selected basically disproved the idea that you have to be the last of your kind.
    Going into speculation: I think it would be interesting if the reason he's dead and his Pyramid empty is because Nezarec died of old age, something the Witness did not expect, considering how it seems most other races are biologically immortal. This could tie into why It was scouting Clovis for disciplehood, because It was waiting for a human that would be able to escape that one weakness.

The Myth of a treasure that could ensure their saftey and glory after the Traveler fled Riss, would perpetuate a state of violence, and would also fit the theme of a cursed Pirate Treasure that drives those who seek it to violence and grief. It is mentioned that there was a part of the Eliksni population that stayed on Ris, so as it was consumed by darkness, it wouldn't be suprising (to me) if one Eliksni was selected from those who remained to give the Eliksni something to pursue *besides* the Traveler. • @Thatoneguy37191
    @Thatoneguy37191 2 роки тому +26

    Im on board with the Nezarec train, however i believe that he would work with us if we were to bring him back. I believe that the Witness is seeking them to destroy them, not to bring them together. The delicate tomb’s intrinsic is called “traitor’s vessel” perhaps inferring that Nezarec betrayed the witness. The blurb for the delicate tomb utilizes the “us” pronoun in a similar fashion to the Witness as well, perhaps telling us that the Witness is disgusted by what is contained inside the jars. We also have to look to the idea that perhaps Nezarec worked alongside Savathun to prevent the collapse, if Savathuns worm is to be believed to tell the truth.
    I speculate that Nezarec betrayed the Witness not in favor of the light, but not to betray the dark. In the nezarec’s sin exotic armor it doesnt say specifically that he is aligned to specifically the dark or the light, but instead to dusk, so maybe he sees it as fighting against the Darkness to prevent light from being supressed entirely, but not for the Light, but to achieve balance instead.
    We also have to assume that the Witness is not the Darkness itself, but rather a counter equivalent to the guardians, If the Darkness’ logic is to be pushed to the final shape, and if savathun is to be believed that the final shape is nothing, should it be possible that that is also the true form of the darkness? Nothing? If the darkness wishes to achieve the simplest, strongest, form, then what form is simpler than nothing at all? But the Witness has a form, it isnt a blob or air or a gaseous cloud or something, its just a humanoid, so maybe the witness isnt even the Darkness itself.
    Back to the Nezerec argument, so if the Witness isnt the darkness, then that should give him justification to kill him, for he is more powerful than the light, and Nezarecs betrayal did predate the guardians, so it could be that he sought to destroy the witness to create balance instead of empowering the light, but also not having the light be supressed by the darkness.
    Im just going to leave it at that but i feel like theres so much more.

Presumably they're already the pinnacle of Darkness power, so it's likely not for self exaltation. Maybe it's to enhance new Disciples like Calus?

    One thing to note about Delicate Tomb is the "Traitor's Vessel" exotic perk, which implies that this "tomb" belongs to........well, a traitor. If it really is Nezarec speaking in the loretab, then it's likely that he was the part of some form of betrayal. Whether he was the traitor or the betrayed is still up in the air, but when an Exotic Perk is named in such a way it can sometimes pertain to an individual. For example, Duality's perk "On Black Wings" likely refers to Crow who was its original wielder when he worked for Spider, and the Bombardiers' exotic perk "parting gift" could be in reference to Tallulah Fairwind tossing her bow to Caliban 8 before being consumed by an Ahamkara. So, it's possible that Nezarec could've been the "traitor" in this situation, and had a "vessel" prepared for him as a result. The quote "They think me contained, but I am instead diffused, as vapor upon the wind" could be Nezarec referring to the ones who placed him in his tomb.
    There's not much more I can talk about without delving into leaks.

    Something interesting i wanted to bring up. In Egyptian Mythology when Set the god of Evil betrays his brother Osiris, Set cuts him up into multiple pieces and scatters his body parts all across Egypt. The reason for this is because (at least to the Egyptians) a god can not die but can at least be bound and made inactive.
    I wonder if something similar is happening here. And if it is i also wonder if it will end the same.
    At the end of the story Isis is able to find all of Osiris's parts except his heart. In a last ditch effort she brings him back to life but since he was not whole Osiris was bound to the Underworld as he was now undead.

    The Exotic Helmet = Void, you need to use Void Weapons & Abilities to fully benefit from it.
    Nezerecs Glaive: a gift from the Witness is ARC!
    The Delicate Tomb = ARC!

    if nezerac is in these perhaps he betrayed the witness he could’ve been a rlly strong enemy and given what we know about the darkness and how the witness does not control it so to speak but uses it i think nezerac is a true wielder of darkness like how we have mastered the light and maybe those creatures drifter interacted with where the same species as him darkness could be a natural thing to them and we’ve seen before that the darkness itself isn’t inherently evil. this could also link to how it’s incredibly hard to kill these creatures if they even can die and would make sense for the witness to have to seperate a being of such power until he can find a way to destroy them completely again just a theory

    Reliquaries also relate to how the Ancient Egyptians would take each organ part and place it into its own jar. I had no idea about the saints bit, which was cool to learn. I had a theory this season while inspired by piracy, is heavily leaning into Egyptian - Eurasian historical themes Destiny has too.
    I'm a little rusty on my Ancient Egypt, but each organ was weighed at the time of judgement (the scales). There's a slight theme this season in relation to the concept of judgement, which is what immediately set off the thought back to the Egyptian Afterlife and why that relates so much to who might be in the jars.

    I'm so glad you made this video as I was naturally curious to hear your perspective on the contents of The Relics that Eramis is trying to obtain. Much like you, I believe that Nezarec's remains are what in the Relics or relicories as Eris more appropriately calls them and the evidence that supports this theory is truly remarkable, definitely pointing in that direction.😳👍🏼 Speaking of Eramis, as well as Mithrax and The Spider, I don't think they've read that Passage from Of Hated Nezarec from the lore tab of Nezarec's Sin cuz if they did, especially Eramis and Mithrax, they would've stumbled on this part of it that's recently come to mind:
    "...Fear not. All He offers is not as dark as it may seem. For Nezarec is no demon, but a fiend, arch and vile in ways unknown. He is a path and a way, one of many. And his sin-so wicked, so divine-is that he will never cower when dusk does fall, but stand vigilant as old stars die and new Light blinks its first upon this fêted eternity."
    I remember you theorizing way back about what could Nezerac's actually sin be and I think now with these Relicories in play, I think his sin was betraying The Witness. Think about it for sec. Why else would he be dead? This Passage from Of Hated Nezarec is a piece of Pre-Golden Age writing, meaning BEFORE The Traveler arrived in our system, which means this was written waayy before the creation of Guardians. And I don't think it could of been any of the other alien races that The Traveler left behind. Soo, then what could of killed Nezerac? I think it was The Witness or Rhulk at the command of It. Since it's been a long time after his death, maybe The Witness thinks that Nezarec learned his lesson of betraying it, but much like us with people we dislike, I think Nezarec still may have a grudge against The Witness. If this is true and he is to be resurrected by Eramis, then there's a good chance that he might be on our side, which would great for us going forward into Lightfall and The Final Shape, but this is just speculation, so I could be completely wrong on some things.🤔😁👍🏼
