Lana Turner personified Class….Beauty and what a “Star”…..Really was….I loved her dancing!….not bad at all….When you watch Lana Turner on interviews she does later (particularly to promote her autobiography)….Lana is gracious….humorous….Her entrance shows grace and decorum…..What a true Movie Star!…..Miss Lana Turner

Note the backdrops from this 1940 MGM film both on stage and off - they are from the Munchkinland sequence from the 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz

Lana showed that she was capable enough to dance. Dancing in films seems physically taxing to me, but I enjoy watching these sequences.

Whole movie please. I never knew Lana Turner could dance this well. Too bad she never got paired with Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly.

Yeah me neither. They look like they are flying.

She wasn't nearly good enough to dance with either 😂 This is not a particularly demanding sequence, and her movements are not as sharp or coordinated as George Murphy's (who was a professional dancer). Watch closely at 0:45 - she isn't tapping, but George is.
Don't get me wrong, she wasn't half bad here - she certainly had the best of direction, this being MGM - but this is not the school of Astaire or Kelly.

@@laurabuffone4742 Still, she would have no doubt been great to watch dancing with either of them and would have become a better dancer like Debbie, Judy and Betty Hutton (who I think wasn't as good a dancer as them but looked good enough because of Astaire).

@@crisguia Very true! She would probably have been very cute in a romantic ballroom dance with either of them. ☺
