He was faithfully wed to the beautiful sister of Loretta Young...no divorce or scandal. Turner was wed 7 times, then God changed her life. They are now in paradise. Except Rita....still as gorgeous as ever!

It's sad that most of these old fashioned greats have passed on. I own numerous films from this era with Esther Williams, Cyd Charrise, Ann Miller, Doris Day, Kathryn Grayson, and Rita Moreno. It seems like it was a better world back then, I feel like I was born about 40 - 45 years too late (in 1975). The late 1940s and early 1950s seemed like such a nice place, with WW2 and the Depression over but before the decline of decent society
What's important to remember is that those people were saying words put into their mouths and wearing clothes designed for them. None of what we're looking at is real life. It's Hollywood fantasy, which is all that rose-colored era of well-dressed polite people ever really was.
As you say yourself, people had high standards and Hollywood productions simply reflectes the character of the people who lived those days, just as contemporary films reflect ours. Of course, there have always existed those who don't meet expectations... At all.

I have seen that too! I actually met Rita in Los Angeles in the Beverly Hills mall with her 2 dogs about 10 years ago. She is a very nice lady
I met her in San Francisco where I live. She was a guest star by a local maestro who was showing her in the comedy classic "Putting on The Ritz." She sat through a great interview and was very funny, and dished about many of her old admirers. Great fun, and she's still a beauty!

@logik316 Mr. M was really built, and very strong! It's a miracle that he survived a terrible accident in 1951. He was thrown from his horse, and then trampled by another horse in the scene. He managed to deal with the pain until the early 90s. He had back surgery, and was never able to walk again. He continued acting, and doing voice-overs until his death. What an amazing performer! Thanks for writing! I've always been a big Ricardo fan, and hope you'll look for other clips on my site that feature him. There are quite a few! Many feature Mr. M with lovely Cyd Charisse. They were wonderful together, and life-long friends! When he won an award, a great honor, he was pushed onstage in his wheelchair by Cyd Charisse! He was a wonderful performer, and an even better person.

I'm partial to Rita, always have been! I must say that in this clip Lana did very well, looks great and danced well! Either she didn't have "artist" approval, or she was just an easy-going lady. Otherwise she'd have had the sense to get little Rita booted from the set! Watched Rita a couple weeks back on a new "Kiddie" program, about Brooklyn gangsters. She played a grandmother, but still looked very svelte and sexy! She's now in her 80s! Que Viva Puerto Rico! Thanks again for writing!

I've always loved Rita, but here I'm thinking of her waist! Looks like about 16-18 inches to me! I think Lana learned how to dance after her career began with MGM. She did fine, but Rita was born dancing! After her departure from her native Puerto Rico to New York, she started studying dance at about 5-6 years of age. Her 1st teacher was Paco Cansino, uncle to Rita Hayworth. The rest is history. Great to hear from you, and thanks!

Besides this movie, Latin Lovers (1953) Moreno 🇵🇷 and Montalbán 🇲🇽 worked together again in the episode High Rise of the Burt Reynolds TV series B. L. Stryker, 1990.
