I am So thankful to you!!!!... I live in Canada and am disabled so on a limited income, I just went on Etsy to try buy some of this paddywax but it was @ $15 just for the product then over $ 26 to ship which is insane since it could have been sent by regular post!?...I am very appreciative to you for sharing this as no one else seems to want to share the recipe like you are doing, which speaks highly to you as a person 🙏🥰
Creation Morin is a Canadian putty company... she charges $6/putty and only $2.50 for shipping. The putty I tried was nice smelling, but a little sticky for warm BC, even in the winter. I was going to add corn starch to make it less sticky. This is the first person I've seen, willing to share how they make putty... so nice and refreshing to see someone offer help and advice freely. Thank you.❤❤❤ It's the shipping costs that kill us Canadians. If I can't get free shipping on large ticket items... I won't order. There is a DP canvas I fell in love with... 15" square... sells for $14.99 in the US. To purchase and get it to Canada, with exchange is $60. Just not worth it.
I’m in the NWT in a wee town about halfway between Yellowknife and Inuvik. Our shipping costs are ludicrous!! This is going to be a game-changer for me, so thank you so much Jamie❣️❣️🇨🇦
I love you so much right now! U literally saved me from spending hundreds of dollars on Etsy just to buy their wax or putty i would rather make my own at home & just use it for my DPs. The video is very informative ❤
Aww, thank you 😊. I love creating, and one reason I put this video out is so people like me can make their own if wanting to. I completely understand that it can get expensive to buy. I still love supporting small shops as I still buy my dp trays from Esty.
You are my Hero! I have been researching for months on how to make the DP wax. I could never get the right consistency. I’m trying the putty also. Thank you for this video! ❤New Sub
I was looking up and down the internet for a long time till I found someb ideas and came up with my own wax. Let me know how yours turns out. There is going to be a lot of trial and error when you first strat and find the ratio you like
That was great! I love how it appeals to my inner child with all the smooshing, squishing, rolling, dipping, sniffing, snipping (all technical terms 🤭), and generally making a mess! Very satisfying to watch too, thank you 🥰
Watching this was SO relatable! You did a much better job than I did! I make TONS of putty every week for the shop. I started wearing gloves bc the fragrance oils were bothering the skin on my hands and so the mica powder wasn’t getting all under my nails! I also adapted my process before opening my shop and I add a thickening agent (de-tackifying agent) to mine in the same way, it’s just a different ingredient that I worked hard to figure out! This is the perfect DIY approach, thank you for sharing! The putty ALSO gets stuck on my finger in that same spot! But the gloves help! 😆 I also never tried making wax before! I’ve been researching, and this recipe is super close to the one I was going to try, but every wax leaves a slight residue and it bothers me so much, so I just said “meh!” But I DO want to make some wax melts soon! I’ve got lots of fragrance oils to play with!
Aww, thank you! I was so determined to make my own wax and putty I did research for months on end. It is really hard to find anything on how to make your own. I really like the wax it doesn't really leave a residue on the drills which I love. Only time I had a problem with it was when I was using it in my living room when I had the heat on full blast.
@@JamieMarie_diamonds that’s awesome! I’ll have to try it out! And I know what you mean! There are so few resources out there to figure it out. It just becomes a bunch of trial and error and spending a ton of money! I think I bought every sticky tack on Amazon trying to find which one would work best for me. 🤣
U R Awesome. Thanks for sharing. The putty is the best. I wanted to order putty from US but it costs too much to ship to AUS. Will try and see how I go
This is the best instructional video on te Internet for making diamond painting wax!!!! I have been looking for the video since before it was made! Thank you!! my Quakehold Museum putty is now more beautiful than it ever has been and my crafty friends are going to be jellly to the max!
Hi Jamie! Hopefully you will see this message since it’s been a while since you posted this but my questions is, what is the purpose of the tree resin? What does that add or do for the wax? I would love to try this and I was just curious about that step! Great tutorial and I can’t wait to try! 😊
Thank you so much for the video. You put the Mica powder in after you put the scent oil correct? I bought the powders you had in your description box and was wondering does the bags make a fair bit of batches? Did the amount you showed in your video take up most of the bag. I am not selling my putty it's just for myself alone but want the powder to last a few batches if possible so wanted to see what I was getting into and be prepared lol. Thank you so much for your time.
When it come to using the mica powder. Start off with small amounts and add a little at a time to get your desired color. You don't have to use the whole bag. I still have plenty of my micas left over for other projects. Always always start out with a little at a time. A little can go a long ways. Have a good day 🤗🕊️
Thank you for the response, I think I'm going to give it a try I'll let you know how it goes. Hey question, are you in Spokane? I live in Spokane Valley.
I'm new to diamond painting, and I've only ever used the wax that comes with the kits. Do you use the putty the same way? Is there a fundamental difference or does it come down to preference?
I don't sell putty at the moment. I've thought about it but I'm still unsure if I wanna sell it or not. Friday is a free day for me as I've been very busy this week with doctor's appointments and physical therapy. So I'll be doing the giveaway winner video this Friday
I have tried using blue tak and it seems to get stuck on the drills, and on the canvas, and is difficult to clean off. Does adding the cornstarch to the putties prevent this happening, or does it still happen if the putty gets too warm? I'm still trying to find a putty I like for my multi placer.. heh

@MerryMaking Crafts Yes!! That's when I started buying the super sticky tack that I could adjust the tackiness to how my liking.
Chalk?
Love this video Jamie! Thank you so much. You’ve given me confidence to try making my own putty!❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing your wisdom so freely!

Jamie, I love your video. I do have a question for you. Have you ever used beeswax as part of your wax fomula?
Not yet. Because of it being so soft, it might not do well. I could totally be wrong tho
Thank you for the response, I think I'm going to give it a try I'll let you know how it goes. Hey question, are you in Spokane? I live in Spokane Valley.
Aboustly 😊. I'm intrigued on how it works. I'm in vancouver
I'll keep you posted..have a great evening..😁
I'm new to diamond painting, and I've only ever used the wax that comes with the kits. Do you use the putty the same way? Is there a fundamental difference or does it come down to preference?
Yes, it loads differently, but I prefer the wax for single placing and putty in my multi placer as it lasts a lot longer than wax
Great video. Do you sell the putty? BTW when will you be doing the drawing for the Mermaid diamond art?

Yes
@@JamieMarie_diamonds Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated. I hope to try it out soon.
One quick question: would Wilton food colour paste (very concentrated) work instead of mica powder?
I'm sure it would. I would be very cautious on how much you add. It might change the consistency of it
Would it be possible to use talcum powder instead of corn starch ?
I wouldn't see why not 😁. Let me know how if works for ya!
Ooh, that'd smell amazing! Great idea! 😊 👍🏼
I am a "hard presser" is there a certain way to make that, or is it in the amount of cornstarch used?
Loved your video.
The more starch you use, the less sticky it becomes. But with wax in general, you have to be careful as it can get stuck to the canvas
New here very cool video. Do you have to add the sent or can it be skipped and just add the mica and would Quakehold! Museum Putty work?
No, you can aboustly skip it
You can skip the scent
❤❤❤thanks 🎉
What is the cornstarch for? Sorry if I missed it. 😊
It help so it's not overly sticky
Where would I find the links to the product I need to buy to make the putty/wax
In the description box
Hola no encuentro la resina de árbol en Amazon donde la puedo buscar?
You can search tree resins on Amazon. It doesn't have to be the same one I used as long as it tree resin it should be ok
Is the tack you are using the same as blue tack?
Pretty much
Where did you purchase the tack bc i cant find that brand anywhere on the internet?
Off Amazon
Link is in the description
Can these items be purchased at a craft store?
I would think you should be able too
Do have an alternative for someone who is allergic to soy?
I'm so sorry, unfortunately I don't know what to substitute it with
Could you use plain bees wax??
You could yes. But it make it much softer wax
Can I buy some from you?
Unfortunately. I make mine as a hobby at the moment.
Do you have a video or know of a video on how to make scented putty?
Are you Jill’s ASMR sister?
I am not. Honestly I don't know who that is. Now I'm going to have to look her up lol 😆
Thanks for sharing
