This has been a game changer for me! I was wasting so much time on the wax, losing its stickiness and tapping a few times on a diamond before it would stick and spinning the tool around in my fingers and tapping again.. It was driving me crazy! I knew there must have been a better way and thanks to your video I am four times faster.. Thank you! 🙏
I haven’t started yet but I just got mine delivered to my house today.😊I haven’t been home but I’m going to try the red wax. I ordered blu tack it will be here my Friday ish. If I have to hassle with the wax so much I will loose interest. My first one is very small so I can take replacing it a bit But the one I am making for my auntie is bigger so the boy tack will beat it to my house. So I will be prepared. But any advice I will definitely take in and use in a way if I need it.
I have tried them all. Quake Hold museum putty is my favorite of the putty, but the glue dots are phenomenal. I have been able to do an entire painting (35x45) on the same dot. Its awesome stuff. Having said that, I have not had luck with it in a multiplacer. I use the museum putty in all my multiplacers. But for the single placer, glue dots all the way. If you end up with a painting that doesn't have strong tack, such as the one I'm working on right now, then you will have to go back to the putty or tack for that painting because the glue dot is too strong and won't release the diamonds. This was a great video with fantastic information. I loved that you showed how to fill the pens multiple times too. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for your video! I have tried them all, my personal favorite is glue dots for single placer and the tak or putty for multi placer. The glue dots are very strong, so I tend to tap the pen on my shorts or shirt a few times before I commence using the pen.
i remember watching one your dismond painting tips video when i finished my first ever diamond painting. although i definitely enjoyed the process, which is why i continued doing them, one of my biggest annoyance was the red wax. this is a very good hack!! i havent had to change my blu tack for 2 months. thanks for sharing!! 💗💗
The Blu Tack would work in cooler climates. But not in Spring/Summer in Queensland. It's almost December and when I pull apart a piece of Blu Tack, it creates fine strands like sticky chewing gum. It might work in the cooler months, though. 🤔After reading some comments here, I'm keen to try out the glue dots for single diamond placement.
Oh WOW I love you I’m on my very first picture and my pen has decided not to take the wax anymore and to drop it all over my picture instead this is going to help me soooo much thank you ❤
Hello, I am from Mobile, Alabama. We can pick this up in our dollar tree. Of course it is called poster tack. I like it. I like the way you demonstrated how you put the tack in the pen. I will have to try the putty and glue dots sometime soon. Thanks for showing.
I love it too. I think it's so much better than the red wax. I hear the glue dots work great in a single placer, but can be trickier in a multi placer as you need a few.
I weren't getting on with the red wax either so went hunting for an alternative and saw someone recommending a green putty that forests use and I've never looked back, I'm in UK and we have blu tack and this is very similar
My biggest problem is that I can’t get the right amount of the wax in the tip! When I stick the diamond on and push down, it squishes out the sides and gets stuck between already placed diamonds! But when I pull some out, it’s often then not enough! Did you have this problem with the wax? If so, does the Blu Tack do the same? Thank you for the help and tips! ❤
I am not sure if I can share links to websites here but I saw in your description you had Diamond Dotz listed which are my absolute favourite for quality. There is an amazing store you can order from that stock the entire range and so much more!! The store itself is breathtaking!!
I Actually Use Loctite Fun-Tak Putty Which Works Great And Lasts Much Longer Than The Red Wax They Give You With The Kits And I Love That I Can Buy It At My Local Walmart For Less Than 3 Dollars For 80 Small Tabs
Where did you find the sticky tack Kim? I found the blue tack at the Dollarama.... but it's way too sticky. I'm thinking of adding corn starch to make it less tacky. Thx!❤
I like Blu tac White much better. It's stronger and thus more versatile since it can do more and do it better. I use it everwere!!! I've even stoped a door from hitting hard everytime someone closed it, to dry out my watercolor brushes, hanging them upside down, sticked to the side of my home PC lol
OMG thank you SO much!! 🤗💖 I was looking for a pen of sorts i wouldn't have to use the jelly with cuz it's super obnoxious to work with! I will definitely try that blue tack!😁
Have never done diamond painting but defo going tae give it a try. Love your videos, i love the fact that you try different things as well and advise on the, well done you.
I had the same problem, my room was too warm. So try keeping your room cooler or get a mini fridge, like the table top size or a cosmetic cooler. Keep your tack and some prefilled pens for when it gets sticky there. Of just a tiny fan on low to keep it cooler could work too. *just not on your painting or near your drills unless you fancy reglueing, and vacuuming and separating.* Many options. All have worked for me. Definitely not necessary and only recommend if you have the extra money to put towards those items. Also over working it or touching it when you put it in can cause it to be too warm too. (:
Thank you for sharing! I really did like the putty until I discovered the Micro Glue Dots. I use them in both the single and multi placer tips. I usually use a 7 or a 9 placer. For the multi placers you have to roll them like a log and fill the tip till it's full. It takes quite a bit and the roll of adhesive is a bit unruly while I'm trying to roll each one. However.....PURE BLISS! I use the natural oils in my finger to tap the tip several time to remove some of the tack. But once it's "CONDITIONED" I'm good to go for weeks! WEEKS!! I DP several hours each day and at least 8-12 hours on the weekend. The only time I have to fiddle with it is when I've used it too much and it's widdled down too low, then I add about 4 dots "logs" to add end-to-end and I'm good to go for a few more weeks.

Oh goodness, I thought I had 'putty peace' but now you've made me want to try the others! 😂
I've always used the pink wax that comes with all of the diamond painting kits I've ever bought, works very well for me
Thank you for your video! I have tried them all, my personal favorite is glue dots for single placer and the tak or putty for multi placer. The glue dots are very strong, so I tend to tap the pen on my shorts or shirt a few times before I commence using the pen.
I think I'll have to try them!
I do exact same but that's only because I seriously can't get the dots to behave correctly in the multi placers🤣

Oh I'm so glad it works well for you too. I still think it's the best!

Yes! I think that's very similar to Blu Tack, so much better.
I've changed to Blu Tac ever sinse I saw your diamond painting tips video. Game changer!!
Oh that's great!

I had some from using it on my nail stands and it works wonders! I did almost an entire 30×40 with one load of it
I’m going to try this, thank you. I really enjoyed your video. You have a very pleasant voice!
In Canada we have Sticky Tack and I love it! I need to see if it comes in white! Lasts so long!
Oh great! I find it so much better than the red wax.
Where did you find the sticky tack Kim? I found the blue tack at the Dollarama.... but it's way too sticky. I'm thinking of adding corn starch to make it less tacky. Thx!❤
Definitely going to try it! Thank you Sam 🌸

Yay! I hope it works for you too!
To the youtubers who said to use blu tack to pick up the diamonds in diamond painting: You are a life changer
Oh fantastic! Im so glad it works well for you too!
Thankyou Sam, very informative 😊
THANK YOU! I’m a beginner and that pink wax isn’t getting it!
I just ordered this from Amazon. Same brand 2 pack for $10.98😊
I use this product for sticking some smaller pictures on my wall. No nails.
So do I! 😂
Have never done diamond painting but defo going tae give it a try. Love your videos, i love the fact that you try different things as well and advise on the, well done you.
I have tried blu tack, but it goes really stringy and leaves bits on the painting. Any advice?
Oh goodness, I've never had that trouble! Did it get very soft at some stage? warmed up in the sun or anything?
@@StudioSam May have got soft. I shall keep trying.

hey! so im 99% sure its the temperature. if you can, have a cooler or mini fridge to keep the blu tac from melting.
I saw in another video that suggested.... to add corn starch to poster putty to reduce tackiness. I'm going to try that with my blue tack.
Thank you for sharing!

I thought I was happy with Blu Tack, but I think I'm going to have to try those!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Lol blue tack is a great fidget toy too. Stretch and roll.
Yes! I'm always doing this. 😂
I have tired blue tack and it is always falling off onto the drills and won't stay in the pen
I find this happens if the pen tip is still waxy. Try removing all the old wax or using a fresh pen tool.
@@StudioSam ok thank you I don't have that many pens because I don't have that many diamond painting but as soon as I can afford more diamond painting
Can you please say exactly why it's better?
Sorry if that wasn't clear, it's tackiness just lasts so much longer. You don't have to change or refill as often as you do when using the red wax.
I like the red wax.
How long does it last when u use it
Sometimes an hour or more!
I use duck uhu plastic adhesive
Its on Amazon in the U.S.
Yes, I think I put a link in the video description.
Love the intro
Oh thank you!
哇喔,感觉很好用的样子😍😍🤗
Thanks so much!
I bought 2 packs and they're incredibly hard...Any solutions?
I just tear off a small lump and give it a stretch and squish. It should soften up real fast.
what type of pentel are you using?
You mean the pen tool? Just a regular one that came in a kit. I think it was from a craft ease kit.
