Very happy to see Larry "Legs feed the wolf" Cheung on the channel finally. I had a few lessons with Larry. What a great guy and someone really knowledgeable of the golf swing.
Finally...the secret to Matt's robotic programming! Who knew it wasn't a microsoft engineer?! This is the best of all worlds. A crazy fast golfer, an instructor with a different approach and the best fitter breathing all in one collaboration. No WAY it gets any better than this.
You guys were already at the top of my list in regards to golf improvement technology, but adding Larry to this series makes a lot more sense. Matt, always asks the right questions. Ian always provide the best of best using the TXG tools plus his own experience and knowledge as a master fitter and Larry, has a very easy way of explaining tips or drills. It's fantastic to have you guys altogether !
Hey Larry, it’s Doug from DC. This is a great overview of the backswing work I did with you on-line in September. Ian and Matt, adding the instructional component to your channel is genius. I look forward to this being a great off-season. Cheers, Doug
Outstanding video! Sad to admit the off season is quickly upon us. Now if you'll be giving us instruction AND product evaluations, no reason to watch elsewhere. What a great evolution to the TXG channel. Love watching Larry's channel as well!
Love this. Great and very welcome addition to the channel. Look forward to more. Best time to work on your game is in the winter for us northern folks.
Damn this makes so much sense I had to go into my backyard and swing - it's 1:29 AM and 30 degrees. It feels so much better than coming straight up and trying to time a release perfectly. Can't wait to take it to the range.
Can’t wait for the next video of this series! TXG and LC joining forces is brilliant. You guys are definitely differentiating your channel from the rest of the pack with substantive informative content. Love it. Keep it up guys!
I think Larry is a genius instructor 👨🏫 from what I have seen so far from him (seen a couple of his own YT videos). This will be a great series. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely loved this chaps. Could be your best/my favourite video yet?! Larry's coaching style is so calm, refreshing and technically sound. Makes complete sense to me even as a novice!! Had a late night in the office tonight and took the idea of a shorter hinge/backswing and adding more depth to the range. Honestly the results were immediate and I was able to get much better club face control and hit the ball further (easier to shallow with more depth perhaps?). Thanks so much. ✌🏼🇬🇧
Been waiting for the Larry Curly and Moe series for quite some time didn’t have to look far for the correct collaboration hey! Doing it right TXG and Larry #trusttheprocess #txgunique #txgenergy Very impressive love the casual talk between you all! 👊👍
Very similar to what I was originally working on with Rick Shiels to stop my casting. We were going back with the feeling of zero wrist hinge (naturally there was some), as the angle I was getting was scary narrow before I even go to the top! Was I got to my new “top” I could just turn and unwind into the swing.. when I know myself the casting is coming back into my game and I can’t get in to see Rick, I go back to that lesson review video I have on my channel and go back to basics. Brilliant vlog gents and it’s good to see Larry on the channel 👍🏻
Two of my favourite golfers to watch for inspiration, because of the simplicity of their swings, are Peter Jacobsen and Karrie Webb. When I look again at their swings they incorporate a lot of Larry’s thinking...especially that uncomplicated backswing and leg drive. They look bulletproof as a result. Larry has obviously put in the hard work it takes to be so good. Looking forward to following through the winter.
Did some online work with coach Larry. He was very committed and we got along very well. I just had difficulties getting used to my camera behind or in front of me. Starting with a coach in the neighbourhood tomorow to further work on Larry´s lessons
Tried the "no hinge / Flat wrist" thing in an indoor range ... on trackman. Thanks for an extra 10-15 metres ... and more consistency. Now to translate to the course. Cheers Larry and TXG.
Ok. Tried on the course now. Best ball striking round for a few years. Good distance with all clubs ... and even more importantly ... consistency in distances. Most greens in reg for ages and looks at birdies. Once again .. cheer to Larry and TXG
PS Not sure how you did it Ian, but one of my many Grandsons appeared on Sunday wearing a Rangers kit and announced that he was now a Blue! I took the info very calmly and have removed him from my Will
@@austinlauer1910 👍 Man United are winning again and England are playing in the Rugby World Cup final tomorrow, so all is Good here thanks. My clubs have been put away for their winter break and won't be brought out of hibernation unit March, so I will have to content myself with causing chaos of various YT sites 😜
This is an excellent video guys - very excited for the rest of the series. I really like how Larry, and you, break the approach to generating speed down into a process and a structure. It's also helped make clear a lot of what my coach is saying to me - Larry is saying the same thing, but in a different way, with a slightly different structure to how my coach explains. It's good stuff.
I remember watching Matts old versus new driver video and couldn’t believe the swing change (obviously great teacher and student). This is just another great piece of content on the channel. Well done again guys and Larry, never a chore watching TXG.
HI been following this channel since inception and was wondering if you would head in the instruction direction. Fabulous idea as we head into the off season, and looking forward to upcoming videos. Congrats on your guys success!
Greetings from Goodyear Az Pretty darn cool..... What’s this ‘winter’ you speak of....? 😎 And yes, I want you to set up shop in the greater Phoenix area.... 🤞👍🤞🙏
Great job Matt, Ian, and Larry! Looking forward to the Instructor Series! Question - How would one potentially connect with Larry through virtual lessons? Thanks for the great content!
Great that you share this lesson 👍 Shawn likes more that upright swing and high arms. Also more roll release and that needs offcource more timing. However to me it feels that there is less effort, than this body rotation swing. This needs less timing but effort level goes up, because you have to use so much body rotation. Offcource nothing wrong that, but it would be very interersting to here your opinion. You have done also great videos with Shawn, so you have very good overwiew different styles.
I'd love to see this kind of analysis with Kyle Berkshire. Would be interesting to see his readings in comparison and what he's doing different as well as what he could potentially improve. Plus Kyle is looking to improve his golf game overall so this could be beneficial for him! Kyle + TXG colab!! do ittttt
Wish That you guys were closer !! But Canada 🇨🇦??? Wow definitely would be great to get fit from you guys! Also you guys have a lot of stuff and a lot of equipment there to help you hit it that far! I mean and on top of it all you have Cheng help?? come on guys!!
Great video...you guys are the best in the business. I feel discouraged as a 70 year old relative rookie though because Matt is just at a different level. Any thought to videos aimed at older or higher handicap players?
This is what I "tried" to work on last year, and failed miserably. This us EXACTLY what my instructor is starting me on. The connection, synching, and coil. I have always struggled with an over swing. I never had the speed Matt had, but could hit it far, because of my height and very long arms. I am 6'5" but have an over 7ft. wingspan. My goal is to get my shite together over this winter...in So Cal ;-).
Very cool video guys! One thing i'm trying to understand is how to rotate in that "chair" position...and how to not over rotate. I'm practicing this now but i "feel" like im over rotating and pulling everything left?
Does this technique work for long irons to wedges or is there a cut off point ? I'm talking from the perspective of deep at the top to the leg flex and squat in the downswing and impact ?
Maybe not exactly the same, but I have a very similar problem to Matt from two years ago! Overly bringing my club back, with too much hinging and not enough depth, and a lot of verticalness but very high clubspeeds too. Interesting to see how Matt tried addressing that!
Larry and TXG..what a great combo. Looking forward to more of the same. I have a question. If My swing speed is in the low 80 mph with a 6 iron, what speed should I expect with a 44” driver? My max driver swing is 90 mph. Is there room for more speed with the driver? Thanks.
Kenneth Wood Since they didn't answer, I'll answer because I'm similar. I'm 82-84 with a 6-iron and 100mph with the driver. I treat my driver swing as different from any other club and incorporate some of these techniques in my driver swing (more depth and more squat). You should be able to get to 100mph. P.S. I picked up 3-4mph on 6-iron this fall by going from PX LZ 115g shafts to 95g steelfiber so that's an option too.
Jimmy Canzoniero Thanks, Jimmy. I seldom see my driver speed above 90 mph. I found this article by Andrew Rice that shows PGA and LPGA stats for their different clubs. It is very informative. I can relate to the LPGA numbers for the irons, but dont come close for the driver. It looks like a 20 mph difference is about normal. www.andrewricegolf.com/andrew-rice-golf/2010/10/trackman-definitive-answers-at-impact-and-more
I wonder how much further I could go consistently cause I am sure I am doing some of this stuff wrong, goal for this winter, working on my swing to transition into more power, let's go for consistent 330-340 yards next year instead of 300-310 yards
Larry's channel is awesome. Adding him to TXG content was a fantastic idea. Love it!

Great video!!!! Awesome 3 man combo!!! Ian (creator), Larry (teacher), Matt (performer)!!! Keep it up guys!!
Wow this is 2yrs ago. Love your guys content and enjoying matts new channel.
Larry's online channel has helped me so much. I was able to lower my handicap by 5 this season. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

Great great video. Awesome to see Ian and Matt supporting a great teacher.
OMG, Matt your swing looks so effortless, and yet you create so much speed. Amazing!

A lesson in buying lessons not new clubs. 5mph is a relatively big gain.
Great idea to add it in to my already favourite golf channel.

Fantastic stuff from the new kid Cheung learning exiting things here in Sweden:)

20 seconds in and liked already
Thank you very much for your help in the game. I have been struggling with my distance.
