Using dual plate Swing Catalyst, Larry helps me understand the role of ground forces in the golf swing. We discuss how the best in the world apply force to the ground for speed and power, and what drills can help get you apply more force for a more efficient golf swing.

Matt, the quality of the content you are putting out is incredible. Love how unafraid you are to try something new.
Going to blow TXG channel out the water. Heck, already is. Keep it up!
Congratulations Matt, this has the potential of being an essential channel for golfers - optimising technique using evidence based knowledge trumps new equipment every time!
Great to see Matt & Larry working together! That last statement LC made was gold…more speed with less effort! 🙌🏼
1 week and almost 10K subscribers already! Keep hitting the subscribe button people!! 👍
This is a great point not emphasis that I hear no one talk about. We see it on tour all the time. Especially off the tee.
I love Matt’s work with TXG, but I’m loving this format even more. I appreciate Matt doesn’t try to be a UA-cam star, even though he’s on that trend, and is a super humble guy I’d like to play golf with.
Matty building MORE swing speed is a scary proposition!
Matt, you are youtube golf gold. TY so much for setting up this channel :) I don't know you, and its sounds corny, but I have missed you!!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels! Excited to see what lies ahead!
This video changed my life. I finally understand how to move my body, with my feet!! Seems so obvious now. Watching Larry doing the 360° jump and Matt doing squat jumps was the thing that made it click. Thank you!!
Matt & Larry are back together, can it get any better?!
Glad to see that Larry's hair is still inhabiting its own planet and his hoody, sorry I haven't got the vocabulary to do it justice lol
wow was on the range today and took a video of myself. It was really helpful to compare my video from today to what you learned here. Thank you
Just rewatched this - exactly what we worked on today. Gonna get to work!
Super interesting that move at 11:40 is something I've seen george gankas talk about and show a lot so seeing that with the plate data is great to understand what he's getting his players to work on.
The “stats junky” in me is loving this, keep up the content Matt 👌🏻
Love that you're doing your own thing even though I always liked you and Ian together
I know splitting with TXG was very difficult but I think it’s helping you grow as a creator. The videos you have been putting out have been next level. I hope you are able reach your goals and dreams. Best of luck Matt.
As a left handed player with a terrible right knee (specialist says total knee replacement is the only hope at this point), I tried this method on a range yesterday. Since the knee issue (years...) I have not been able to finish strong with a forward weight shift on my front leg. That produces weak, thin, incredibly frustrating contact on most iron shots. No grip, stance, ball position, etc. change or adjustments could help that. I think by accident the ground force swing actually relieves the stress on the front (my right) leg/knee. With proper sequencing - and it took a few swings to get it right - contact was again proper and ball flight was higher, truer and the small draw with longer carry and proper spin was back. That tiny bit of flex or "sit" with both legs and then pushing up and out makes all the difference. Thank you Larry and Matt for presenting this theory. At least for this 60 year old golfer, it has shown early promising results.
Awesome! Matt is probably a scratch or close to scratch golfer, but he's so open minded and curious in his learning like every 10+ handicapper should be. Curious questions force the instructor to give quality answers which helps us hacks understand the content a lot more. The former partnership was mainly about club testing. This new chapter is definitely about becoming a better golfer and helping the audience in the process.
Thanks Marcel!
great insight here to using the ground. Larry is full of knowledge and Matt a sponge.
There’s been so many people featured that everyone is getting to see various insights into the game rather than one person’s perspective. The best golf content on UA-cam right now. Some on course stuff will be the cherry on top
I love seeing the years of speed related teaching being 1000% vindicated with the data here. All the George gankas drills with the bucket between the knees and making sure to drop it. Seeing how Kyle Berkshires lead foot spins out etc.
So crazy - LC is the data wizard.
Matty all the best with everything, you keep doing you, you're brilliant
Just gold thought Matt was lost on UA-cam after TXG. Now discovered he a treasure trove of golf videos he has certainly been busy! His content is really different too loving his work. There goes my sleep again!
Fully formed UA-cam content out-of-the-gate! Sky is the limit for the channel.
A series focused on this training could help golfers like myself. I am strong enough to swing faster and these explanations show me why I’m still slow. Love this content!
Having been playing golf since 1963 I have a lot to learn. I have to practice more using the ground. Thanks Matt. Good to see you again with Larry.
Hey Matt, I've missed seeing you. It's great that you're ding well, man.
Small but important component of a golf swing no less. Thanks for sharing.
you getting that trail leg external is so sick. provides the potential to extend and create so much torque. exciting times
More of this please. I actually understood what was happening!
Nice to see Larry working with you again.
Saw the name of the channel and subscribed instantly. Good to see Matt back at it!
Matty Boy!!! Great to see you guys working together!!! So Awesome... LC is the man!!!
Happy to see Matt and Larry back together in a vid!
This is so up my ally for great golf content. Matt keep crushing it!
Wow. Fascinating. The thought of Matt finding even more power with his driver from this is truly awesome. Larry’s channel has always had really interesting lessons and movement oriented thoughts and feels.
Great visual difference. It made it easy to understand how using the ground works.
I'm someone who leaves distance on the table as a result of not playing as much golf anymore - my swing is out of sync and, in search of consistency, my legs have become quite static (like most novice swings). I've been working on speed and ground force in particular to help free up my swing and get back to reasonable distance. There are a few very good examples of this on UA-cam, although Matt & Larry (and Ryan) here have done an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating those forces in a relatively short video.
Matt - I'm loving all the recent content and you're smashing it! :) Cheers
Gabe Gallucci did one recently called swing blueprint which is insightful. Dr.Kwon does a lot as well.
@@lawbinson Thanks Rob, I've seen the video by Gabe and most of Dr Kwon's videos too. Zen Golf is interesting albeit slightly unconventional in how the info is put across - which is nice as not all golfers pick up info / learn in the same way.
I used to have a very good swing where I could do this stuff - just very out of practise and trying to find it again :) Cheers
subscribed with all three of my google accounts. it brings me great joy seeing that you've decided to continue making golf youtube videos!
Gengar head cover. I like it!

This is unbelievable content. Not only have I always seen you need to get lower, but there has been no reason why besides having a "better swing". So awesome to see actual metrics and why it is actually beneficial. Love this
