  • The ASUS ProArt IPS Display PA278QV is a WQHD professional monitor that offers 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709 with a color accuracy ΔE 2 and Calman verified.
    The ASUS ProArt Display is for those who want to take their color grading to the next level like myself before I was using a gaming monitor to do everything and, using a professional monitor for the first time I am truly impressed with everything this monitor offers.
    =========
    ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV 27” WQHD 🛒: amzn.to/3ouLBMW
    Support this channel by using the link above to make any amazon purchase, thank you :)
    =========
    For the price of around $300USD this ASUS ProArt Display sells it is able to offer so much with 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709 wide color gamut, Delta E ≦ 2 colour accuracy and also being Calman Verified.
    The other thing which I love about this monitor is the stand if you plan on using it it does offer everything from tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustments.
    The viewing angles on this professional IPS monitor are amazing there are no dimming or any color changes when you are viewing the monitor on an angle which offers an amazing viewing experience.
    The ProArt Display PA278QV comes factory calibrated no need to calibrate your monitor with any extra accessories and we do receive the color calibration testing report of the Calman verification.
    The main reason why I love this Asus ProArt Display PA278QV is the color grading I am able to do with it on my videos going forward as I am able to achieve way better results because now I know when I do any color grading I know I am seeing the correct colors.
    One other thing which this Pro display professional monitor impressed me with its the true black levels without the need for me to touch the brightness values at all, and when it comes to finding the best monitor for color grading for the price point you cant really go wrong with this ProArt Display.
    If you are in the market for the best 1440p monitor for color grading this Asus monitor offers 2560x 1440 which is great for a 27 inch because everything looks very crisp but if you were going for a 32 + inch monitor than I would consider a 4K display.
    ProArt Display PA278QV Specifications:

    Color Saturation : 100% sRGB / 100% Rec. 709

      I am deciding between LG 27GP850-B, Asus ProArt PA278PQ, Asus VG27AQ, Gigabyte G27Q, and LG 27UL550-W. I need monitor for semi-professional video and photo editing and also gaming. What would you suggest for me? Thanks in advance!

      @@kleptokratija The LG 27GP850-B by the looks of the specs it offers the gaming aspect also color as well, the Asus pro art is amazing but gaming at 75hz not so great, unless you go with the pro art one that has the 144hz but the price is much more.

    I just ordered this monitor for photo editing. A washed out display will force someone to over saturate which just looks terrible on other devices. For $300, I think it's a great value.

    This Monitor is exactly pinpoint what I need as a hobby photographer, especially in terms of pricing! Thank You very much for this great review.
    Concerning your monitor on the left I am schocked at how it looks after the calibration you mentioned. It has a yellowish color cast! Indeed it is only good for gaming but definitely not suitable for photo post production!

    That side by side showing was really helpful. I just received the Dell S2721QS but I am returning it because the colors are just like your monitor on the left. Washed out and warmer/ yellow-ish whites. Seeing the ProArt display next to your old monitor and seeing the difference in whites really helped. I’m considering now getting this but it’s not in stock on Amazon at the moment.

One question: If the left monitor is already calibrated using an external colorimeter, and still doesn't look great, how do you calibrate the new monitor moving forward (knowing it is already factory calibrated, yet still need to recalibrate as it ages). Again, thanks for your review.

    I bought this monitor yesterday and can't wait to get it setup. I bought the Benq Zowie XL2411p earlier, but that is a pure gaming monitor but not for what I really needed, (color accuracy and a beautiful display). For content creation and design, and a purely good daily driver I decided to go with this ProArt which is a major upgrade for me in terms of the quality of content I will be able to produce with this thing.

The selection is limited... There is only some possible modes like Blue Light Filter, brigtness, color or two user modes? Why? Why? Why? In the same reasoning they should have added "Open main menu" as an option to assign to these shortcuts... :(

    Word of advice for those of you considering buying, I bought one like it so much I bought another. When the second turned up, and I got it plugged in a setup next to the first I noticed that the second had considerably warmer color than the first even in the factory calibrated sRGB mode there was a noticeable difference. Eventually after about an hour of messing around in the menus I was able to adjust the colors increasing the blue value, brightness and contrast such that they eventually became indistinguishable but I was disappointed that for a monitor calming to have accurate colors they still suffer from the deviation between models like this.

    • @larrydiaz7156
      @larrydiaz7156 Рік тому

      Having different color temperatures doesn't mean bad color accuracy. Temperature is not a sign of color accuracy since it only relays were the white point is going to be. Manufacture tolerances are still applies, because it's a cheap monitor. You still need to calibrate it to 6500K. You won't get the same color temperature even between 2 of Apple's very own XDR Displays.

    (2:38) That appears to be a DVI dual link port, which I'd be able to use as I have a GTX 1070 in my desktop PC (I can't afford an RTX 3070 or A4000 at the moment), and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series were the last GeForce GPUs to support DVI dual link natively, at least on the desktop GPUs. Along with that, my Zotac AMP Edition card has a dead HDMI port, so DisplayPort and DVI dual link are my only options. I can't use Intel Core i7 7th gen integrated graphics as that only supports DVI single link.
    (7:33) That would be great for me, because I don't feel comfortable using Redshift (or the built-in 'Night light' feature on Windows) on my desktop PC (just on portable devices), so on the old 2013 Dell monitors, I have shortcuts to take me to the presets so I would usually have the monitors set to warm light unless I wanted to go do stuff like photo editing, video editing, video playback, or even just go through one of my art or comic books. I'm kinda curious as to if ASUS has a desktop app similar to Dell Display Manager for adjusting the display settings from within Windows.

      Thanks for this! I've been researching monitors for the past week and love the idea of vertical shooter support. Was sold on the VP32AQ but the last one just sold. Getting a mount that swivels and tilts would put it into this monitors price range. Darius super wide screen would be cool but getting better colors prevails. Game on!

      @@Marzimus I ended up getting the Asus 4K Tuf 28" monitor for my PS5 and it's been fantastic so far. Best priced 4K monitor with 144hz overdrive, but standard is 120HZ which is where I leave it. What I didn't realise when I wrote my first comment is that this monitor is freesync premium as is any monitor that has at least 2.5x the upper refresh rate of it's lowest refresh rate. This monitor has a freesync rate of 48-144, so 48 * 2.5 is 120, which means it qualifies for freesync premium which means it has something called LFC, or low frame rate compensation, which means freesync works through the entire frequency range! I learned about all this recently and it's exactly the same way that g-sync works in my laptop.
      So I can use this even for old arcade games that are below the 48HZ barrier and it will sync them perfectly to play as they were intended. For this I use Retroarch with my new PC which is using the other HDMI 2.1 input on the monitor, but you can use the display port input just fine and most prefer that. The monitor is VERY easy to rotate when I want to.
      The reason I don't overclock and use the 144hz option is because there is no need. There is no console game that exceeds 120 FPS in existence, and since I am running PC games at 4K on it, even with a 4070ti there's many new games I can't even get 60 FPS on with ultra settings. Older games I can lock to 120 just fine but I see the 144hz as a bit of a needless gimmick for 4K play in my case, (unless you have the most top spec epic GPU in the world).
      So yes on the PS5 it uses freesync and on the very same monitor the PC uses G-Sync which is just Nvidia's front end for the Vesa VRR standard, which is what Freesync is but AMD's version. The only situation where VRR is different is G-Sync ultimate monitors that use an actual proprietary Nvidia chip inside, but that is purely for Nvidia cards/PC's:)
      All in all, I am happy, the response rate is fast, picture is great, games look fabulous and that's what matters, plus that sweet rotation for arcade retro games or even modern steam takes on them that have a TATE option. Some PS4 games which work on PS5 have this option too, like some Hamster arcade classics.

The Calman certification sheet says it's sRGB calibrated but when I set it to that mode it's dark. Is that normal? Or am I understanding this wrong ..are all modes pre-calibrated?

      If you are serious about accurate colors, then I'd suggest getting a calibrator and do the calibration yourself. All displays will go out of calibration over time. I'm not sure how long it takes this monitor to be out of spec.

      If you're referring to the USB hub/the 4 USB 3.0 Type A downstream ports, you will need a USB 3.0 Type B to USB 3.0 Type A cord to connect to a free USB 3.0 Type A port on your computer - that's correct. I do not own this monitor, though I am considering purchasing one for casual use. I know the cord will be required from using 3 monitors previously that all have USB hubs built-in.

    I recently bought two 27" ProArt monitors from Asus... The monitors color balance is completely off. One has a more purple hue and the other has a green hue. I've been trying to get in touch with ASUS for the past month and have been asked the same questions over and over again. Not happy with the product or their customer service. If you get their monitors expect to spend double to have them properly color calibrated.

      I bought a colorimeter to try to fix this issue. I do calibrate monitors between 80-120 cd/m2. Gamma 2.2. Black level 49. 6500k. And my old monitor Asus PB248Q have no hue at all while the PA278QV have a yellow hue. The yellow hue on the PA278Q goes away over 250 cd/m^2. When i compare in greyscale the yellow hue is visible. Prints from work and home also matches the old monitor when it comes to greyscale under 6500k lightsource. Some users claim this issue on written reviews too... Sad, since it is a nice monitor overall.

      In terms of resolution you are getting a 4K on Dell vs 2K on the Asus, brightness is the same on both at 350 cd/m². The main reason why I would choose the Asus one is if you are looking to get this monitor for color correcting purposes than I would go with Asus since it comes with 100% srgb a, rec 709 calibrated and Calmam verified which is a must if you are doing any sort of color correction, printing etc..
