For over a year i searched for video reviews on this and found nothing, i finally decided to just buy it and return if I didn’t like it. I’m a photographer/videographer so color accuracy of my Mac has always been great but more and more i found myself just wanting to use my MacBook Pro and plugin. needless to say, i was pleased enough to keep this for $300 vs $450 for the LG I also tested. It may not be perfect like a $6k monitor but your clients are not looking that close. I recently edited a commercial for TV and no one said anything about the colors in that video.
Anyway, just discovered your videos and will sub before you hit 1mil… don’t change, keep this vibe… it was nice to watch a review and not feel like someone was screaming at me haha.

I really wish they would have added a KVM to the CV version, this and the CV are kind of in a class of their own at 1440p. I was thinking about replacing mine but after some hunting around and not finding anything that suits what I want I guess I'll upgrade my gaming monitor instead. Solid review, the only thing I'd add is the pro art utility lets you change color spaces without having to fiddle with the menu buttons.

Hello! Glad to find your channel! I have a question tho
Is it safe to mount a light bar on the monitor? I’m concerned about it being frameless and might damage it.
I’m eyeing on the Xiaomi lightbar tho. I’m also concerned if the magnet of it will affect the monitor

    • @visionarywatts
      @visionarywatts  Рік тому +1

The top bezel border around the monitor is very thin so if the light bar is clamped on, it doesn’t have that much room for to clip on to (the Baseus light bar has a tension/ clamp design). You should be able to see what I’m talking about in my VS light bar video comparing the one I mentioned to BenQ. I don’t have an Xiaomi but I imagine the design is comparable to one of the two

@@visionarywatts Thanks for replying, from the photos it is difficult to understand if the IPS GLOW level of these PA278Qs are all the same, I hope my sample is within the norm. At first I was torn between the PA278Q and the Dell S2721QS, from RTNGS reviews the Dell seems to have better black uniformity.

Check out the new BenQ 272U Hardware Calibrated monitor....Also.. Calibrating any monitor is a must. They all claim these numbers of 99-100% SRGB" or 99% Adobe RGB. But based on my test, they all mostly marketing CAP in real world usage. I lived in Taiwan for 15 years,... Asus is a Taiwanese company.. They are notorious for hyping up the marketing and claims. But they do mostly but out some good products in the motherboard, laptop and tablet space. They like MSI, and GIGABYTE are relatively new to the prosumer market for displays. They outsource like Apple many of there components..... so quality with vary based on how strict their quality control is.😊

I hate the big logo in the front staring at me.. went on offer up and bought (almost new) Dell Ultrasharp u2722de for $250.. If the logo doesn't bother you I think the ASUS is a great buy

wanna know a little secret i learned earlier this week.. LG makes asus panels and monitors.. i was kind of surprised to learn that. in fact LG ASUS SAMSUNG all share the exact same specs 1.07b color 1000:1 ratio 350/400 brightness nit, 4k, blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda the only varying factors among each is the power consumption and the speakers. Everything else is the exact same among all of them in that particular price range

I got this monitor recently, and while the display is nice, especially for photos and video, text is disappointing. Tapped into some Windows functionality to try and improve it, but I'm still not liking it. Way too pixelated for me. I'm gonna have to go with 4K.

so i learned to never trust dell ever again first and last monitor ill ever have from dell

@@visionarywatts yap went from small amount of vertical lines to entire screen being corrupt to smoking just in few days
used almost every single day for hours and even during few heatwaves
dont know who engineered it but if a monitor cant last 10 years its a trash model and or brand
i also learned to stay away from razer products cause the quality control is terrible so atleast i didnt spend like premium amount of blood money
also i paid my whole month minimal wage for that dell monitor so atleast im lucky that this lenovo legion y520 still works flawlessly despite its conditions being well visibly used and still going since early 2017

I’m too dumb for this stuff. Once you said there wasn’t true black and the back bleed i crossed this one off my list.
Building my first computer for digital art and graphic design and all i need is the monitor. Which is super hard to find the right one when you’re me. Takes me like 3 years to finally understand something by dumb luck or i finally find a 10 year old video the algorithm hide for years from me. :/
