    Okay seriously I can't be the only one who is almost completely positive that on #4 it's actually David sending the emails instead of his 'psycho' ex.

      It was him I'm sure. He fits, telling her she's garbage and she's lucky to have him? He was sending her all those e-mails because he wanted her self esteem lowered so she would be with him and only him.

    As a survivor of an abusive relationship, these stories really strike a strong chord with me, and they remind me just how lucky I was to get away. Thanks Lazy, Eden, and Lady White Rabbit for making this video, and to the contributors for sharing their stories. It's really important for people to hear what goes on in low-key and emotionally abusive relationships. There's a common misconception that it's not abuse unless your partner or parent is hitting you. The truth is so much worse. Sometimes, you don't realize how bad things are in your own life until you hear the same story coming out of someone else's mouth. Cheers!

    The story with the chick who was getting harassed by her boyfriend's ex.... I think it was actually him the whole time harassing her. There wasn't any actual meeting or communicating with his ex directly in person. Only emails that were supposedly the ex-girlfriend....
    I think he was really bothered by her supposed past (the idea of her having a very active sex life), and kept pretending that it was an ex. I think he was actually the ex-love horror in that story, just after a conquest and she fell for it. After he got what he wanted from her, he moved on and (for the most part) let it go. The very last message could have been to keep the idea alive so she remained unaware (the narrator) of it being him, or possibly he was feeling possessive as if her sexuality was still supposed to be his.

    • @DANTVSVERGIL
      @DANTVSVERGIL 8 років тому +8

      Well she didn't really have an active sex life, considering that she was pretty sheltered by her parents. But yea, there's no doubt that it was him considering that David, didn't do shit about the E-mails.

    • @CharlesHatton
      @CharlesHatton 8 років тому +2

      DANTVSVERGIL I get that she wasn't, and was just trying to engage in some way. But in his perception (at least at one point) was that she did it.
      There was so much sketchiness to it that I feel it had to have been him.....

    • @TheTrollmuch
      @TheTrollmuch 8 років тому +6

      I agree. You took the words right out of my mouth. The amount of sketchy stuff going on would have a ton of red flags going off in my head.

      @Psichotica7 8 років тому +5

      +Charlie Hatton I agree that David's "ex-girlfriend" was just him, but how does that explain him tracing her "untraceable" blog?
      Sorry, I know I'm a bit late to this party.

    • @CharlesHatton
      @CharlesHatton 8 років тому +2

      Psichotica7 it's possible that he was a hacker (for the lack of a better word, lol)? I've known people able to find that sort of stuff that others believed was anonymous.
      However, another possibility is that he originally was a follower to her blog. In that case he may have become intrigued and/or obsessive prior, and she became a conquest after that. It could have been coincidental that he met her and then realized it was her in the pictures, or after following the blog he sought her out and met her?
      It wouldn't be unreasonable if he was extremely excited by the content on the blog, and then found her in person so that he could get a piece (regardless whether it was luck or intentional).
      You got to keep in mind, she's not aware of how it was discovered, so there's a broad range of possibilities for how he would have known.

    The last story, the short one, made me SO angry. I have a dog myself, she's my first dog as my mother never had time for one when I was growing up as she was a single mom and worked all the time. So when I moved out, guess what the first thing I did was? Get a puppy. That dog is my world, my best friend, everything. I raised her since she was 7 weeks old...she's my baby girl. I would seriously hurt someone if they ever laid a hand on my dog. I don't even want to go into what I would do if I found out they purposely killed her. Not a scary story, but that one definitely provoked my emotions.
    Phew...ok lol I'm good! Awesome video, loved the female narrators as well, they were great.

      I caught that too. The taste was the first 'what the fuck' and the 'I began to feel bad so went to ER etc' just...he didn't shake? have violent heart palpitations, didn't start to see things and quickly became psychotic...etc etc etc...and the ER took 'I don't feel so good' and got you in fast enough to a) detect the methamphetamine, then b) assumed his honesty, assumed immediately that he WASN'T an addict and must have been poisoned and oh yeah theyvcalled the feds? Who showed up super fast? Without any local police involvement, or a filed report? Because doctors aren't immediately super judgemental when illicit drugs come up in a urinalysis. And they definitely use that as the basis to contact the authorities on the behalf of the patient, OR alternately, violate patient confidentiality to involve authorities who may have tracked the individual on a weak involvement with a suspect's COUSIN to interview him, and there isn't enough here (at least noted) to suggest they might have had any grounds for a warrant, to question the victim, while he's being treated with heavy antipsychotics, antiepileptics/benzos, and other psychoactive meds which would have rendered an interview pretty legally immaterial no matter what the circumstances. Not to mention the charcoal, the side effects of a poisoning...aaaugh I'm thinking too hard about something totally pointless on the internet.
      I try to like these whether they are or aren't real and try not to consider it as the determining factor in my appreciation, but this one made me roll my eyes. I kind of believe that a guy dated a girl who was loosely involved with a meth cook, but...horse. shit.

    #4 is a PRIME EXAMPLE why parents need to stop being so strict with their kids! I hear constantly that kids are held under strict household rules for no good reason! When that happens, the kids don't respect their parents whether they're little, or when they grow older. They WILL rebel against you, parents! It will lead your kids down a terrible path in life, and it'll be your fault because of your terrible parenting!

    • @candy-ninja
      @candy-ninja 7 років тому +78

      There needs to be a middle ground with parenting. I feel like parents need to have reasonable rules while not being too strict and need to be able to enforce those rules.

    • @ekramer2478
      @ekramer2478 6 років тому +15

      ZZZ it's not being over-soft, it's being inconsistent, and giving in regardless of whether or not something is sensible or deserved. There must be some firm rules, but they should be for genuine safety. Being overstrict, forcing religion, ideas that are not sensible to the general public, morals that are widely debated, etc., will not be beneficial. Teaching a kid to be decent to others, generally polite, the actual value of money and how to behave in a professional environment, about child predators and abusers EARLY and that there will be a safe place for them to come and talk about it, that being HONEST about it even when you did something NOT so cool, without inappropriate consequence, that you can actually TALK about things, and then making the time to be available when needed without being horrendously intrusive will HELP. I went through my teenage years with a Mom I could safely tell ANYTHING. I did not have a curfew.
      Time of the clock didn't matter, and I tended to be out with a large number of people. I went to school, I worked, I was on time. I was not the kid who got drunk (for all this was the eighties, and you didn't get your kids pulled away from you generally if the kid did have a few beers on the beach...) I was the one that sobered up the others so the driver would be okay to drive. They would actually listen to ME, for all most were OLDER, and I could make them wait up to EIGHT HOURS, then bring the rest HOME. Home rules no drinking, no drugs, but you can SLEEP in the living room. Often we had a bunch of kids keeping each other behaving because they knew they had a safe place to be.
      I never did drugs. I never took things that didn't belong to me as a teen. I appreciate gifts from relatives. I am kind to others. I could ALWAYS tell my mom if someone was doing something bad to me, or being weird and I KNEW she would be there for me. I did not have to hug if I felt uncomfy (never felt uncomfy with Mom's friends), and NO ONE was allowed to pinch my cheeks when I was little. I knew from toddler hood our full names, phone numbers, and where to go and who to seek out if something was going wrong, who was OKAY to get in a car with, and NO ONE else. I only got a mild back end swat if I was doing something genuinely DANGEROUS to myself, or a hand swat (Don't touch that's hot!). Discussion was NOT backtalk. I would know exactly why my mother was saying no. Because I said so did not exist in her vocabulary (her most considerable vocabulary. I used words like morn and mourn in writing by ten, and knew the difference, and can actually use behooves in a sentence).
      I love to read and always did well in school. If I had a problem my mother would help, or get me a tutor. I WANTED to do better. (I could be a bit embarrassed needing a tutor but that's me...) I did not throw tantrums after 1 /12 apparently when my mother showed me JUST how ridiculous it looked. Too, she'd NEVER have given in to one. A parent must be more stubborn, and if I had done that I'd have been shown in no uncertain terms just how embarrassed I should be by my OWN behavior. She ALWAYS taught by (good) example. There was NO do as I say, not as I do. I was read to, and saw a book in HER hand daily. Want your kids to read? Read. Have books everywhere. Comfort them when they need it, but do not protect them from ideas. The real world is still real, we all live in it. Childhood is time to play, learn, and be properly socialized, forced innocence is NOT helpful. He/She is just a CHILD is not an excuse for horrendous behavior. If it's going on, the child must hear NO and understand that NO is NO.
      Indoor voices indoors, and NOT running around knocking into adults, screaming in high shrill omg voices, etc etc, are NOT optional. Children must learn that other people also exist and need to share space. Learning to share is good. Learning boundaries on personal property, or when you do not HAVE to share is also good.
      My stepsister who lived with my mom for several years left a boyfriend she'd been with for longer than she'd lived with us because he pushed her. Once. She cried for days, but understood that ANY abuse is NOT something that might stop. Too many teens ARE abused and controlled by partners. She knew what a GOOD relationship should look like. (My mother's lasted 25 years the first time, when she was widowed, and now is going for year 36 on the second. NO ONE has ever been abusive to my mother, nor laid a hand on me in anger. I also had a wonderful father). Both of my parents worked after I turned five.
      My father worked as something he didn't really want to consistently until the day he passed to make sure we were provided for, and she returned to work when I was five. They had a deal so she could stay home the first few years, but after that, she worked, and she wanted to work. We were fortunate enough to have a live in grandma. Until I was a teen, there was ALWAYS someone home with me, though by then I knew VERY well what to do if anything went wrong, and I knew very well how to do things like use a stove, not just a microwave, by the time I was SEVEN. (I could make pancakes).
      I am looking at this from the point of view of a middle aged woman. I was a VERY sought after baby sitter and was even an aupere (And a tutor for those with learning and behavioral problems going back to those my own age as a teen). Parenting is a HUGE commitment, and not right for everyone. It is also not good to try to force those that do not want to be mothers in particular to be such, to insult them when they are honest and knowing of themselves enough to not want to be such, etc. There probably should be licenses, and certainly should be realistic classes.
      In summary, I am VERY thankful for my Mom, I am generally known to be a very good, very KIND, very honest person, and I lay every bit of what I am at her feet. She taught me very well. I was allowed to have opinions and express them, something many adults don't always get. Kids do have minds. Parents are there to mold how they use them. Issues were to be discussed rationally, and solutions or concessions found. Arguing should be done politely. One does not insult the other person, but discusses the ISSUE. I watched my mother do this. I learned to do this. It is a most valuable skill especially in long term relationships, friendships, and as a working person.

      While I'm not saying she deserved what she got, I respectfully have to disagree with the always often used copout of "we all do dumb things when we're young". I do believe that parents shouldn't be too strict but I personally wouldn't want my daughter or son to be posting erotic images of themselves. So yeah there has to be middle ground. It's as simple as you get what you give. If you freely show yourself to everyone then there is a high possibility that you'll attract more men or women who just want one thing because that's what that image attracts. Or if your always getting wasted and partying all the time without getting priorities straight then chances are higher that you'll attract that type of crowd. All I'm saying is that people in my age group (some older and younger as well) need to realize that actions have consequences but in MY personal experience any time they mess up society just tried to tell them it's always okay and they never learn personal responsibility.

    Took over a year after he cheated and we broke up for me to realise what had been happening in the relationship and be able to come to terms with everything, though I still flinch if someone reaches for me or something it thrown and I'm celibate now, but progress is progress.

    I started dating a girl (let's call her Cindy) in high school when I was 17, we dated for two years until shortly before I joined the military and left town, she took the breakup really hard as I was her first serious relationship. Well when I would call home, my parents would often say, "Hey Cindy stopped by yesterday to visit!". Ok, I thought. A bit weird, but Cindy had spent a lot of time at the house when we dated and got to know my family real well. So who says she can't still be friends with them just because we broke up, right? But then it got weirder, my sister would also mention doing something with Cindy and even my grandmother even mentioned she had stopped by her house. Then when I graduated from basic and my family came down they brought Cindy with them. Now it was getting really weird, I was polite to her, even sat and chatted for a while about what was going on back in our hometown, but made it clear I had moved on and wasn't changing my mind. I figured this was some last ditch attempt by her to get back together, and she would finally get the message and move one. No dice, still every time I called my family, one of them would mention she was over at the house a couple days ago. So fast forward a year, I meet a women in the military, we hit if off and start dating, then I get some leave and bring her home with me for Thanksgiving, It was a surprise, I didn't tell the family I was coming. So I walk in the house with my girlfriend, and Cindy is sitting there with the rest of my family. There is this huge scene and she runs out crying, I'm confused, my new girlfriend doesn't know what the hell just happened, and my family is acting like they're angry at me. My mom finally says, "How could you do that to Cindy?!? You two are engaged and suppose to get married! And you didn't even tell her?!?" At this point I'm complete dumbfounded. I tell my family, me and CIndy are NOT engaged and never have been, in fact we broke up over a year and half ago! Apparently after I left to join the military, Cindy had told my family that we had gotten back together right before I left and I had given her an engagement ring. Even went out and got a fake ring. She told them not to mention it to me because I wanted it to be a secret. So for a year and half she had been hanging around the house and going places with them because they thought she was going to be their future daughter-in-law. After I got all that cleared up, they didn't have much to do with her after that, even though she still tried to call and come over a few time after the Thanksgiving incident.

    The story with David makes me extremely angry. The worst part was when he said “I believe you” after they had sex. He had gotten what he wanted and didn’t need to keep gaslighting her. Sick.

      Also, being. sexually active does NOT make you a confident person. In fact, I'd say it's quite the opposite. The pressure to have sex is so strong in society that it's literally detrimental to your ego, apparently, if you DON'T do it. Just an example... "What dude, you mean you're STILL a virgin? You're 17 man, get laid!" I'm 17 myself and heard a classmate say that. This girl needs help if that's what she sees as sucessful. (The story writer, NOT the narrator).

    the story of Claire is intriguing.. I was thinking David was the one pretending to be the ex gf and when she replied to the "ex gf's" email, "we're not even dating anymore" it probably shocked him because it's like "we're" (you and I) and nor "we're" (we are) ... it's like she "found out the truth" (unintentionally sounding like that)

      +Jack RIPPER Maybe, just maybe, they keep promoting her because they like her sound and how she interprets the personas of the stories. Maybe they want more female narrators out there and want to give her exposure and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism so she can improve. Just, you know, a little thought there.
