When my Grandmother was 16 she was riding her bike around Sandy, Utah. A man in a van pulled up next to her and asked her if she'd help him find his dog. She said no and continued to ride away and he followed her for a bit. She came upon a family walking their dog and told them she was scared. They looked over at the man and he drove away. When Ted Bundy was arrested, my grandmother swore that he was the man in the van.

It's kids like Sonia who make me wanna be a foster parent when I'm older. So many kids out there without a loving, caring environment that deserve exactly that.

I can never fathom how people can be so evil and heartless to do this to an innocent child. The most depressing thing about hearing stories like that is knowing that hundreds of kids around the world are suffering through the same thing. Anyone who commits these kind of crimes against children should be locked up for life because I believe if they are capable of that they are beyond redemption- it’s well known most are repeat offenders.

All of these are so depressing and sickening. At least Sonya was rescued from her hell as a child and didn't have to grow up in it like Jaycee Dugard. I looked up that case after this video and found out that "Creepy Phil" was actually on parole for rape and kidnapping, and parole officers went through his house routinely and gave him drug tests for YEARS without ever checking the backyard. That just makes it more awful, that Jaycee (and her daughters, later on) could have been rescued years earlier if the police had done their fucking job properly. And I don't blame the neighbor kids for not noticing anything, but how did adults not see *something* in 18 years?
BTW, on a lighter note, Raleigh is pronounced "RAH-lee". ;)

I feel so incredibly sorry for the little baby girl Sonja. It hurt my heart to hear what had happened to her. I'm so thankful there are still some decent humans in this earth, like the mother of that other kid. She did the right thing trusting her gut feeling, she probably saved Sonjas life. I hope that Sonja ended up in a family where she could heal, and that she was given all the love she deserved. Remember people, ALWAYS be brave for one another. Don't just be a bystander. The two men pointed at a few kids on their way out they got in their van and followed two girls . at this stage my boy was in the back seat of my truck with his 22 in hand I tailed the truck and as soon as I saw that sliding door open I accelerated and drove the van forward my son in the back seat seatbelt on the van slides sideways and I jump out and hold the two at gum point on the ground my 14 year old son pointing his 22 at them through the sunroof and on the phone to the police. turns out the were pimps turned sex slave trafficers

Lee Uchiha because it is easily one of the most violating things someone can do to another person. It cripples your sense of self, free will, and choice. There's often a complex about it too, where you wonder if you did something to deserve it. There's also a lot of shame in not being able to defend yourself from it. Society tends to ask "well what was she wearing" as if it matters more than him being unable to keep it in his pants. It's a power thing too, someone who commits rape wants to overshadow the person they're with and dominate them.
For a girl, it can also lead to pregnancy which further twists emotion since we're hardwired to love our children, yet to be born in such circumstances makes it hard to do so.

My friends aunt almost got killed by Ted Bundy. Her and her friend were in college in Utah and she said a handsome man asked if they would go to a party with him and he would pick them up that night from their dorm. My friends aunt had an awful feeling and decided not to go but her friend was so enamored with him and went. My friends aunt never saw her friend again. They found her body later on.

Actually his kill count was much higher than people think. More like in the 50s-60s. Been researching him and came across victims in Michigan, Canada, California, Vermont...the dude was active way before 1974, probably started around 1969 when two college girls wound up stabbed to death and he was in the area visiting relatives, this happened on the day he was there. Not a coincidence at all. Bundy was all over the place.
Google search Pamela Hobley and Patricia Spencer, they’re also potential early Bundy victims, they vanished walking from a gas station. Ted frequented Michigan. Ingrid Bauer and Carmen Robinson are two women who vanished under mysterious circumstances in 1972 and i73 respectively in Canada. Bauer vanished just like Kent did.
So nah, Bundy was opportunistic and traveled almost anywhere for killing, plus his old gf lived in CA, giving him plenty of time to kill there. People love ignoring that he clearly had more killings under his belt, but he was the kind of guy to get away with these things.
So no, I don’t doubt it when aomeone says their mother/relative could have been a victim because everyone had their hair long and parted in the middle back then and Bundy would pick up or go after any attractive female he could find. We’re talking about a guy who wasn’t picky with victims either, brunette, blond, red haired, as long as they were pretty, he took them.
That’s just scratching the surface, Jeanette Rose Miller vanished in WA in 1970 and she had her hair long and parted in the middle, so did Teresa Kay Davis, in 73. Ted had more victims than we thought of.
Tldr Bundy did in fact, have more victims and we are only just now finding out how high the kill count was,
Never underestimate that guy. He was smart and unpredictable.

the Creepy Phil one, i have a reply to that. it's the Story of Jaycee Dugard and it's fuckin' crazy man, i live only 6 miles away from that house and had passed by that street for 2 years on the way to the Brazilian jiu jitsu school that i went to at the time was in downtown Antioch California. the main back little highway called Wilber rd runs parallel to the north of the street where she was being held. at night that area is really scary man, it's straight up pitch black out there save for a few scattered street lights which are such a distance apart that it makes for an extremely ominous atmosphere. not to mention its right next to the river that comes out of the Delta and besides that little neighborhood where she was there's just open fields and industrial factories. this story hit the people who had lived in the area since back in the day (40's/50's) because a lot of people knew the man. my brother-in-law's dad had sung in the school choir with him back in high school and my own grandfather had met him briefly back then and was turned off by him, never thinking again about him once until the story broke.
what makes it even crazier, and you didn't mention this in the story, is that the Police including the County Sheriff had been there multiple times because of complaints from neighbors about strange noises, and somehow Phil was able to steer them away every time. sort of like that scene from Tusk when Johnny Depp's character gets turned away by the serial killer because his acting is so good and he seems inept and harmless.

You don't announce to the flipping murderer that you're gonna call the police on them.

Creepy Phil indeed, to say the least. I don't understand why no one ever suspected anything during 18 years. I mean, look at the photos of him. He looks barely human. Not just his facial features but his eyes. I know genuinely creepy appearence and being doesn't mean a person is a criminal or a predator but surely _something_ else alarming had to happen during such a long period of time seeing to that he truly was an unfeeling pedophile. Like, WTF? How can someone who is what he is _and_ looks like that, get away with the monstrosities for so long?

Had he been normal, innocent and good man then no of course you couldn't tell by just looking at him. But he was a monster inside. Those people tend to give off certain vibes even when they don't look like that, if not immediately but at least in a long run. My point was that when the first impression as in the very first thing you notice about a person is that creepy you'd think you'd pay attention to at least some of the subtle red flags they're bound to show throughout the years. All those neighbours apparently were utterly oblivious to anything being wrong for the better part of two decades, which I find incredible.

I HAD SEEN HIM AROUND THE HOSP MANY TIME AND JUST ASSUMED HE WAS ANOTHER VET SO I SAID YES. FROM THE MOMENT THE CAR DROVE OFF I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE. THE HAIR ON MY BODY LITERALLY STOOD ON END. A VOICE IN MY HEAD SCREAMED AT ME TO GET OUT OF THAT CARE N-O-W ! SO JUST AS THE STREET LIGHT WAS TURNING RED AND HE SLOWED TO STOP I JUMPED OUT AND STARTED RUNNING DOWN THE STREET THE WAY WE HAD JUST COME. I HEARD THE CAR TIRES SQUEAL AND A FAST LOOK SHOWED THE CAR COMING BACKWARDS AFTER ME. JUST AS THE CAR WAS CATCHING UP WITH ME ANOTHER CAR TURNED AROUND THE CORNER AND THE CAR CHASING ME HAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. ALSO THE BUS WAS PULLING INTO THE STOP. THE DRIVER RECOGNIZED ME AND THOUGHT I WAS RUNNING TO CATCH THE BUS. YEARS LATER MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TALKING AND I HAD THE SOUND OFF THE TV TO HEAR WHAT HE WAS SAYING, BUT LOOKED BACK AT THE TV FOR A MOMENT AND A PICTURE FLASHED ON THE SCREEN STUNNING ME.I WAS WATCHING A SHOW ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS AND THEY WERE SHOWING THE GUY I HAD RUN FROM IN SUCH TERROR. ALL THESE YEARS I HAD BEEN FEELING LIKE AN IDIOT FOR JUMPING OUT OF THAT CAR THINKING I HAD BEEN A BIG BABY. +Sarah Nightcore I did. I read her book but I don't remember him abusing the girls. I'm pretty sure they lived in the house. creepy Phil made the kids believe his wife was their mother instead of jaycee

I think your narration is the best for these kinds of videos. The clear and somewhat British accent makes it just the best to listen to if you're not American and to understand every word. Keep up the good work, dude.

Your videos always cover really interesting themes, ones like these are so fascinating. I went to school, and was briefly friends with, one of the women involved in the Ian Watkins of Lostprophets case. I'll never forget the day I found out, or how it shook the people I went to school with. Such stories are tragic, and you never expect them to hit so close to home! Looking forward to your next videos!

I always heard it pronounce Ral-lee or Raw-lee depending on how thick of a southern draw the speaker had. Raw-lee it turns out is the proper pronunciation according to the city government itself. Being from Virginia we tend to stretch the A sound more than native North Carolinians.

There was a guy in our neighborhood named long legged Larrry, he would stand outside my window on the second floor breathing on my window and making smiley faces. I used to have to scream "get out of here long legged Larry!!!" And throw my little cartons of milk at him. He was never caught, I still have nightmares about it.
