    Just started the move 30 day challenge and i'm only six days in but i've also noticed a huge change in posture and a constant need for stretching! What has helped me show up the most is honestly calendar blocking to organise my time better. If I save a 30 minute space every day for yoga, I can assure myself I will show up. I used to manage my time really poorly and even 5 minutes would feel like and absolute waste of time, but blocking has mde me realise how long days actually are and how much more stuff I can do without guilt!

      I also started the move challenge, however I'm still on day 6 or 7 (Light) because I had a one day break and I really wasnt feeling like doing core work the second time. Need to get myself to stick with it 🙊

      @@SimsInfoVideo I'm also one day behind because of time zones lol but core was also too much for me 🥵 but honestly i just try to show up and, if i feel like i can't keep up, i just do a lighter version of whatever pose/exercise we're supposed to do or just take a break. i guess i'd rather do just a few poses rather than none at all 🙆🏻

      Oh fantastic that is great! It does make me wonder just how bad our posture is in general when we notice such a change from starting yoga!! You are so right with leaving the timeslot for yoga each day, I'm horrific with time too so I need to take a leaf out of your book!
      Thanks for sharing and hope you're enjoying Move!

    • @Tinyboots_travels
      @Tinyboots_travels  2 роки тому +3

      ah no try not to feel bad about taking a few days break. While the challenges are great I also think even just doing yoga once every couple of days or ever now and again is better than nothing! So just remember when you do yoga, it is something kind you are doing for yourself! So no need to be hard on yourself for not wanting to do the odd day. Hope you get back to it and feel the benefits :)

    I think a big part of doing yoga every day comes from habit. I do it mostly every day, early in the morning after i wake up. At the end of the year my motivation sinks alot. but then there is january and like every year, adrienes new journey arrives. the biggest part for me, to stick to this routine is, the comment section. for sure. all this positiv feedback give me so much energie and it lasts for almost a year.
    So, what i would advise is, to take the journey in realtime and connect with other ppl through it. It helps so much.

    • @Tinyboots_travels
      @Tinyboots_travels  2 роки тому +1

      Yes it can be so hard to build a habit but these challenges are so helpful. I am going to do Adriene's newer challenge now to start again so you're right, doing it in real time is probably so much more helpful! And I hear you about the motivation dwindling as the year progresses!
      I hope you are enjoying the new journey!! :)

    Great review! Ive also been following Adriene for years and years, but ive never actually come around to do any of her yoga sessions. Always found reason for why I couldnt. No time, to stiff for sittning down crosslegged, pain somewhere, etc. But now I just started doing MOVE 2022! Got 2 days notice and I just said yes, I'm doing it. And most of the sessions has been done live. Its awesome! Im starting to get more comfy sittning on the floor now. The first 4 days I also struggled with not looking on the watch to see how long time was left. Now on day 14, after a session, I cant wait for the next one. 25-30 minutes are just a perfect length. I'm definitely going for BREATHE once MOVE is done, because now I can't see a future without YWA sessions every day. I am quite weak too. Really impressive you did the crow! I can barely lift one foot. I really enjoyed you sharing your struggles and how you improved. I felt there is hope for me too. I don't really have anyone around me that I can talk to about the sessions but your video really gave me the feeling of talking to someone about it and I guess that is why I write this long comment. :)
    Take care and keep showing up for yourself! But also respect the days when you can't do yoga. That could probably also be a way of showing up.

    • @Tinyboots_travels
      @Tinyboots_travels  2 роки тому +1

      Oh Johnny I relate so much! So easy to find excuses not to do these things for ourselves, I still do all the time! That's why these challenges are so great I think.
      So glad you've started MOVE and you've been noticing changes already! Fair play to you, to think you are already planning to do the other journey when you are done, such great progress well done :)
      I was delighted with my crow haha but to be completely honest I have not progressed much with difficult poses. Something I want to keep working on though.
      Thanks for writing such a long comment. Love hearing everyone's experiences especially if they relate to mine. Feel free to let me know how you get on throughout the journey and the one after that ! Thanks so much Johnny!

    I’ve been doing yoga almost daily for about a year and a half. The past month I’ve really been slacking off and have been feeling so clouded. This video made me feel motivated again and reminded me why my overactive is so important to me! For me, it makes it a lot easier to show up when I listen to my body and my mind every day. If I’m feeling more energetic or tired and doing a more physical or gentle yoga. Just being gentle with myself! And find a way to incorporate it into your routine that you look forward to. I personally do it in the morning because it helps me get the energy flowing in my body and calms my mind before my day. Just do the best you can everyday. Sometimes that looks like doing a simple downward dog p, taking some deep breaths, and moving on with your day. And sometimes that looks like a 30 minute routine. But I find that taking just a little time everyday to do what yiu can really helps develop the habit.

      haha yes it's mad isn't it. The constant need to stand up at work to touch your toes and stretch your shoulders is a bit weird but it is just a reminder of how bad our natural posture must be!! Mine is awful again but I've started the Move journey now! Are you doing it? :)

    Want a lovely review ! I have just started the new 2022 30 day journey!
    Sometimes I wonder if our anxieties come from us trying to do amd be too much but also from avoiding being alone with ourselves .
    I think this helps a lot .
    Im referring to the anxieties from all the tiny micro stressors we expose ourselves to daily rather than big life problems which we all have to face and are obviously going to cause us to feel stressed.

I knew that I needed something more gentle after a tough 2021 and so I am nearly halfway through Breath and loving it. Hoping to do Move when I feel stronger. :)

    Hey, good for you! Just being kind to yourself; taking 5 minutes to breathe and be with yourself is major - I struggle with motivation, anxieties and depression so totally get where you're coming from. Find those really short videos that you enjoy, it takes the pressure off, she has a few really nice 5 minute ones, I find if I start it with the intention of 'just 5 minutes' I often end it craving more. I also sometimes spend like an hour just sitting on my mat watching videos or using my phone, before eventually feeling like having a roll on my back, or stretching my neck etc, hope that helps! h x

    • @Tinyboots_travels
      @Tinyboots_travels  2 роки тому

      Thanks for that Helena :) Yes the short videos are great , you feel like you're just "tipping in and out" and have a lovely period of calm. I do find the longer videos more daunting and they feel like a bit of a chore, but it all depends on the day and my mindset going into it!
      Going in with the "just 5 minute" mindset is a great idea because anything more is a benefit and will leave you feeling extra good about yourself! I'll have to try that mindset! Thanks again!!

    You mentioned not knowing how to work on mental discipline and blocking out distractions -- I'd highly recommend looking in to meditation/mindfulness beginners courses where I think they will focus on teaching techniques to help quiet your mind. Adriene definitely focuses on the mindfulness aspects, but I think she's busy teaching the physical forms, whereas a mindfulness course specifically will likely do similar but for the mental side. Think of it like the crow pose, how her walking you through it made what once seemed impossible become achievable, I think there are similar techniques to help learn to quiet the mind.

    • @Tinyboots_travels
      @Tinyboots_travels  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks a million Gabriel! I dip in and out of mindfulness every now and again but always wait until my mental health is really bad to try it. I am terrible at staying consistent! I'm actually going to do a mindfulness challenge as I think these challenges are a great way to commit to something and try to build the habit!
      thanks so much for your suggestion :)

    I'm on Day 16 of YWA's 30 day challenge and I agree with pretty much everything you said. This has been the most motivating video I've seen so far (I needed some motivation to keep going). One thing that helped me become more patient with doing 20 to 30 minutes of yoga was doing meditation. I've been meditating daily for more than 2 months (Balance meditation is free for your first year!) and it's definitely taught me to be more comfortable sitting in silence. It's still a struggle to do meditation even after 2 months, but I definitely learned a lot of healthy coping strategies and built more confidence by doing so.

      ahh thanks so much Jenny I'm so glad you found this motivating, after some other people said I was being negative about the challenge I was worried people would take me up wrong! ahhh I really want to try and do daily meditation. I dip in and out of it but I find I always have nocturnal panic attacks when I meditate before bed!? So weird and it put me off a bit! but you've motivated me to try again!! Thank you :D

    Thank you for sharing your experience.. İ am in 16th day of yoga with adriene and seriously i found it so effective every single day, i feel much stronger in different parts everyday already.. And yes, i had the same problem of slouching for years which i used to get criticised about and never could fix it and like you mentioned i am naturally getting into that straight back..
    Also, for me it has tremendously helped to feel fresher and energetic, which helps me with my 3 children (age, 8, 4 , 3 😊) .. And i am a devout muslim, so the daily yoga practice is helping me concenterate much better in my prayers/worship, therefore helping me achieve spirituality health.. İ love God (our creator) so my core intention is to achieve that constant connection with God through my daily events.. And the yoga is helping me gain the physical strength therefore concenteration and focus, so that is helping me go on to the mat everyday 😊

      @@Tinyboots_travels try not to stop doing this form of exercise, i think this is one of those forms that builds you gradually/progressively internally and externally without hurting you physically.
      İ have seen couple of 100 year old ladies walking around smiling with no achy joints because she reqularly practiced yoga..
      Yoga for me is physical health and then i use quran for spiritual clarity and health (mentioning it just in case, you might consider reading it to know the truth of purpose of everything that exists beyond microscopic atoms and molecules :)) ok bye.. :)
      Love and peace

    Just going to say, you really noticed many ‘small’ positive changes; many people wouldn’t have noticed their thoughts have changed, that while your sitting your shoulders naturally want to be pulled back a bit, and understanding the piece about needing to make time for yourself. These are huge wins for you!!! Massive!!! Congratulations! As for me making time for myself, much like you said once you begin stretching and workout in general your body and mind need to have it, as long as I remind myself this is for me and not for society it becomes easy for me to get on the mat. When (and it does) it becomes a must do, it becomes a chore. I usually take a break in those moments almost like a reset for a couple days and then come back to it, have to leave ego out of it or else it is no longer mine. Hoping that makes sense. I also find having a couple of teacher helps, I love Yoga with Kassandra and Yoga with Tim as well. Yoga with Adriene I have found is a happy middle between these two teacher which is perfect for me. Hoping this helps, and you continue your journey!

    I have done YWA’s 30-day journeys for several years now. I agree that the disciple is the hardest part. I find if I average 20 mins of yoga a day, so many aspects of my life are better. I use the word “average” intentionally because some days I don’t get to it, so I can do more on other days to reap the benefits while still having flexibility with my schedule (or just not feeling like it some days). Hope that helps. Are you doing her challenge that she just launched?

    • @Tinyboots_travels
