I know right for a 60 dollar game that is just WAY to hard to code in adding certain options to certain stages way too hard man won’t make any money back spending like those 5000 hours coding in the single option costing Billions too hard not gonna happen
@Hans Jorgensen Legal reasons? What do you mean? He's just showing how to improve the menus. It would be stupid to complain about they improving the system when you said "I hope they improve this" also 4:48
I wish the travelling stages in hazards off would still have the travelling in the background just if the platforms stay the same the Skyloft background is so boring with hazards off
I bet this has something to do with “spaghetti code.” Like, most of these stages are ported over from previous games, so, maybe the reason Delfino Plaza doesn’t work is because they just couldn’t get it to work? Plus, even if spaghetti code wasn’t a problem, you still have to consider just how much extra work it would take to have a version of each traveling stage for each combination of different areas. You’d need to have a path to travel on for each and every single combination. So for them, you’d probably just have to either have traveling completely on, or completely off. And remember, this isn’t including how hard it can be to re-code code from over 10 years ago.
They could add an option to hold a certain button when selecting Arena Ferox to pick what layout to use with Hazards off. Like how you can change the appearance of Boxing Ring.
That and the traveling stages and the two stadiums. Heres how Id do it: For the traveling stages if you just press a button on the d pad it sticks to one of the platform layouts that takes you to each one of the areas of the stage like if you press left on it if you selected wuhu island you get the 2nd traveling platform.
If you wish to fight at one of the areas they take you to like the stadium of wuhu island not only do you hold down a button on the dpad but also one of the shoulder buttons too in this case L and up.

Maybe the awkward difference between Skyloft and Delfino is so they're not too similar. Like if you're in the mood for a traveling stage you would pick delfino but if you want a stationary stage with small platforms you pick skyloft. Idk man it's just Nintendo logic
If I wanted a travelling stage, then I'd turn hazards on. If I want stationary, then I'd turn hazards off. Whats with the smash team not following their own rules?
@@milanbeerepoot4260 The thing is, is that it was described that "hazards off" would be stages that don't have any hazards or anything affecting the stage. Obviously, they know that Skyloft's hazard, is the movement itself, since that affects the stage in a way thats out of the players control (like Yellow Devil). This is established through Sakurai's words and the actions of the team with Skyloft. It makes sense too. So again, why does Delfino or Mario Circuit (MK8) get 0 changes? The function incredibly similar to skyloft, and in Circuit, you can still get hit by the stage. So by a gameplay standpoint, the hazard toggle is a little vague and confusing. I'm not proposing anything, I'm just saying how the toggle is supposed to work based off of what the team has said and what they have done with some of these stages. Theres a disconnect between what they've said and what they've done here.
Yeah, this always boggled my mind how inconsistent it is. I don’t see them going super in depth to fix it, but I’d love to see it. And it means we’d get more than 5 of the 100+ stages to be legal. @PJiggles there’s a way for each stage to be set to legal/ illegal, in the settings you can set the stage selection to random, make it so that the only stage in the random picking selection screen is the stage you want to use for that setting, and then pick hazards on/off for that stage. You can also name the ruleset after the stage it’s for, like Smashville. It makes it that you don’t have to find the stage on the selection screen, and you can have a ruleset with some stages legal and some illegal without making it slow.
Sorry for the rant but is anyone else really damn tired of these comments? Like are you incapable of writing a comment without quoting a shitty reddit meme?
If Nintendo called me tomorrow, and asked me to overhaul a feature, I would say one of these depending on my mood: "materhand/crazyhand as a character or mode, boss rush, crazy mode (random bombs, specials have 2x effect (like jumping twice as high, or traveling as far) all final smashes are controlable, random tripping, items appear 10x as much (any more ideas are welcome to make this hell)), new stage builder mechanics. Like Joker could appear on Mementos if he isn’t in the match, but it was on the stage. Same with other characters, mainly the DLC characters because they have their own one unique stage, so it would be cool if they just stood in the background during the fight

@@gamedifficulty_4230 for me I could do "Beyond distant skies on anywhere but fire emblem stages because it feels more like your fighters are on a journey.
Just started watching the video, but I just want to say that how I'd improve the hazard toggle is by splitting hazards into 3 categories -Harmful: Anything that does damage -Platforms: Kinda self explanatory -Gimmick: Anything that drastically changes the stage layout or directly impacts player movement
For the stages the curently don't have hazards why not add some. Temple could use some deku shrubs and octorocks, SF and KOF stages could have some attacks from background characters, and Moray Towers could have some sprinklers, ink mines, and auto bombs show up. Maybe even occasional ink strike missiles that mimic Bahamut Zero from the Midgar stage.
@@Chaos.A Well to elaborate they should make a competitive version of the stage that doesn't change the original design much. A lot of stages have layouts that are close to being tournament legal, the only thing stopping them is minor changes. And even the stages that don't could be altered to have a more fair layout. For example there's a variant of temple in PM that's just the upper left section of the stage without the little bump. Something like that.
In a video by PKbeats, he tested that the super scope curves, but the ray gun doesn't. This seemed to be because the ray gun is an energy projectile, not a physical one, which applies to Byleth since his lower stage arrow is apparently physical; but Mega man's side smash and Ryu's Hadoken curve, even though they are energy projectiles.
Another great idea would be sorting stages by series or by alphabetical order on the selection screen. It'd make stage selection a bit better so you don't have to stare at the screen until you find the stage that you want
13:18 Yeah I agree I mean this stage is one of my favorite and I love the way it looks and how detail was put in to it but for someone who loves Mario Galaxy (me to be more specific) I think it could have used a little more love like you can make it like the Mario Sunshine stage where you can look all over the planet or even better have the Rosalina's Comet Odservatory be a stage that would be my favorite stage, but the stage we got I do love it but it's could've used a little bit more love
I really hope they introduce this one day into the game. Cuz this is great for the competitive and casual side. I really can't wait to see more stages legal and turn of certain stage hazards.
You did all of this work, the amount of time spent recording in every stage, every single frame edited perfectly to make us see your ideas implemented in the game, and it looks so damn good? No choice but to follow ❇️

Seeing this animated in the smash menus so sleekly and clearly just has me wanting to see it in-game even more! It’s a quality of life feature that would improve the game more than we could know. Thanks for the video!
you used wolf and fox's lasers as examples for projectiles that "randomly" don't curve on the mario galaxy stage ( 13:45 ) but they both fight in outer space in their games so it would make sense that their lasers do not curve in outer space right?
@@gamedifficulty_4230 I agree with your point, but that made me think of something. Shouldn't projectiles such as Link's arrows curve less on Lylat? I don't think they do.
I always thought that it would be nice too if you can select a specific stage in a stage ( for exemple the lava one in the castle siege or a small part of a huge stage like the Palutena's temple or even the great offensive cave ).

The smash 4 gameplay just gives me so much nostalgia
Me too
Feels kinda cursed not gonna lie

Y’all know about country fried-steak? Once you’ve a good one, you’ll always be craving it. Especially with gravy, mashed potatoes, etc.
Fans: Yellow Devil is too big.
Ridley: Uh-huh. Cute.
'Spring stadium, the newest smash stage'
Small battlefield: I'm here
Also I have an idea.on the hazardless version of green greens. All the blocks are down, but in the background could maybe show one of the dream friends fighting wispy woods.
could you do a mockup of how it would be if we could add music from other franchises to specific levels of different franchises? (also nintendo please steal this idea)
Let me guess...
Megalovania everywhere?
@@gamedifficulty_4230 lol sure! though i was thinking more like gangplank galleon on the wind waker pirate ship, or casltevania music on luigi's mansion; beach tunes on beach levels, etc :)
@@zitrodivad I want this so I don't have to play on Wily Castle to hear Mega Man music, for example.
@@gamedifficulty_4230 for me I could do "Beyond distant skies on anywhere but fire emblem stages because it feels more like your fighters are on a journey.
@@zitrodivad yeah that would be nice.
Just started watching the video, but I just want to say that how I'd improve the hazard toggle is by splitting hazards into 3 categories
-Harmful: Anything that does damage
-Platforms: Kinda self explanatory
-Gimmick: Anything that drastically changes the stage layout or directly impacts player movement
8:10 WHY IS ROB'S LITTLE HAND MOVEMENT SO FUNNY?!?!?
For the stages the curently don't have hazards why not add some. Temple could use some deku shrubs and octorocks, SF and KOF stages could have some attacks from background characters, and Moray Towers could have some sprinklers, ink mines, and auto bombs show up. Maybe even occasional ink strike missiles that mimic Bahamut Zero from the Midgar stage.
I think the real best case scenario would be if they made a competitive version of each stage like what Rivals of Aether does.
Might be a rather big ask though considering the amount of stages in Smash
@@Chaos.A Well to elaborate they should make a competitive version of the stage that doesn't change the original design much. A lot of stages have layouts that are close to being tournament legal, the only thing stopping them is minor changes. And even the stages that don't could be altered to have a more fair layout. For example there's a variant of temple in PM that's just the upper left section of the stage without the little bump. Something like that.
@@NCozy That would be really cool, it's probably something we'd have seen in an official Smash by now if Nintendo cared about competitive
This video made me realize how nice the stages we have are, despite the Hazard toggle being underwhelming
You: Makes video about Ultimate’s stage. Nintendo: releases an update for stages & adds a new stage called “Small Battlefield”.
" -making this yet another Bridge of Eldin."
I’d like to mention that this specific hazards/layout thing actually exists… but only for certain spirit battles…
Another great idea would be sorting stages by series or by alphabetical order on the selection screen. It'd make stage selection a bit better so you don't have to stare at the screen until you find the stage that you want
The presentation in this video is amazing. I never knew I needed your best-case scenario stage hazard select until now
I never understand how fans make better decisions than companies when it comes to stuff like this
Simple, there are more fans than developers. More ideas to bounce off of each other, thus refining those ideas at a faster rate.
Your Stage Hazard Toggle Selection mockup is so clean! I was hoping for the exact same thing, but alas...

*When your so popular, you get Rule 34*
13:18 Yeah I agree I mean this stage is one of my favorite and I love the way it looks and how detail was put in to it but for someone who loves Mario Galaxy (me to be more specific) I think it could have used a little more love like you can make it like the Mario Sunshine stage where you can look all over the planet or even better have the Rosalina's Comet Odservatory be a stage that would be my favorite stage, but the stage we got I do love it but it's could've used a little bit more love
I love how the google text to speech didn't even pronounce Yggdrasil correctly.
I really hope they introduce this one day into the game. Cuz this is great for the competitive and casual side. I really can't wait to see more stages legal and turn of certain stage hazards.
23:38
Dad: are ya winning son?
Me: *checks Jumbotron* finally, the answer! No dad I'm being camped by a nair spamming Ike
You did all of this work, the amount of time spent recording in every stage, every single frame edited perfectly to make us see your ideas implemented in the game, and it looks so damn good?
No choice but to follow ❇️
PJiggles: Doesn't it get tiring having the same moving repeating pattern in the background for minutes?
People who watch the bouncing DVD logo screensaver for hours: uhhh yeah sure
just @ me next time
My definite favorite change you suggested was definitely referencing Mario Kart DS! That is so creative, I didn't even THINK about that myself! Please, send this video to Nintendo and see if they will listen to your idea to make it a reality! You're so professional with this idea!
Am I the only one who wants stages to travel with hazards off.
Seeing this animated in the smash menus so sleekly and clearly just has me wanting to see it in-game even more! It’s a quality of life feature that would improve the game more than we could know. Thanks for the video!
I’m just glad it’s there as it is lmao
"it's more like final destination but with walls", or kalos without platforms. it changes depending on how you look at it
magicant, more like magiCAN'TSTANDIT
lasers aren't affected by gravity so it makes sense that fox and wolf's projectiles aren't on mario galaxy
18:37 i think you are wrong cause there are the two op figters who can pull items out of the gound (and deal like 300% damage in 5s lol)
They were referring to the stage
I've played smash ultimate for probably at least a year, and I had no idea stuff actually happens in lylat cruise.
you used wolf and fox's lasers as examples for projectiles that "randomly" don't curve on the mario galaxy stage ( 13:45 ) but they both fight in outer space in their games so it would make sense that their lasers do not curve in outer space right?
Thats a really good point
But it's the planet's gravity that's supposed to make them curve?
Doesn’t that mean that they should move at a very slight diagonal on every stage set on a planet?
@@gamedifficulty_4230 I agree with your point, but that made me think of something. Shouldn't projectiles such as Link's arrows curve less on Lylat? I don't think they do.
This video is edited very well, like it actually feels like it's a part of the game.
Everyone: wow great vid
Me: wtf with the fanarts
I thought I was the only one fam
@@TheSnazzyBoi Same honestly

Man it feels good to have you back, your content has a ridiculous amount of quality.

*Cough* Rest *Cough*
This is not supposed to be rude BTW, its a joke
I loved the mockups you made for the hazard toggles. So cool.
Bro, that fanart
the mario kart stage idea at the end is so cuteee
I always thought that it would be nice too if you can select a specific stage in a stage ( for exemple the lava one in the castle siege or a small part of a huge stage like the Palutena's temple or even the great offensive cave ).
I love the "yellow devil" in that stage and thats the only reason I play on that stage
