Imagine if the structure of the show had been Tyra demonstrating how the photo shoot would go at the beginning of every shoot. And then she stuck around to coach the contestants through it and help them through their individual weaknesses. Imagine she wasn't a judge. Just a mentor. How amazing would the show have been? Instead she chose violence.

How they show photos of Tyra a lot before shoots or in Tyra mail. It would’ve been cool if they did like a reveal of what they’re shootings but making Tyra do it. First it would avoid theyre terrible race changing photo shoots because Tyra wouldn’t do something they’ll get her hate or make he look like a bad model. And it would give them a good example of what they’re looking for. I dunno Tyra could’ve really make a cool show

    • @90sbaby1
      @90sbaby1 Рік тому +16

While this is all true, Tyra doesn't care. She got so rich off of the show just how it was. It's unfortunate that this is how the world works: people don't care what they do, especially if they succeed after. That being said, in her own way she has received some karma. Can't deliver kids, people hate her, her music career is nonexistent, her show got thrashed by social media these past couple years, she got humiliated by viewers and press on Dancing With The Stars, her ice cream sucks, her movies suck (even though Life Size holds a place in my heart, let's face the truth it sucks). Even if she doesn't let these failures affect her.

    • @loserplanet

He rarely gives creative direction. Just vague directions which are hard to translate. "GIVE ME SOMETHING!" It's annoying because I've heard him in interviews act like Tyra was the only villain. No, Mr. Jay was always a villain. A real creative director wouldn't go out of his way to bring a model to tears right before a shoot (which he's done many times).

If the "Looser" would become more successful that the winners, the models wouldn't be so easily manipulated, thy would't think winning is everything. And the Viewers would startet to question the show as well.

"Too squat" while she was posed beautifully. "Bust the product" when she dropped the phone! This has to have been heavily frankenstein'd together in editing, it's incoherent! The cultural insensitivity of that show still baffles me.
No, that's not a geisha nor a geisha's escape. That's kind of rude. A Geisha is someone very special in Japanese culture, a sophisticated highly skilled entertainer who has to learn to perfection everything from make-up to poems to music and even subtle gestures. And we have known that for a decades now, long before people called everything cultural appropriation so no one can say it's because of different times.
The music doesn't sound Japanese to me. Why do those things if you're in Japan and could do better?
The kimono with Western lingerie is fine. Though I would have loved as more subtle type of photo shoot. I've seen amazing photos of people in kimonos. Not everything has to be "loud" if you know what I mean.

Idk. I've always felt Tyra's "everybody talks about everyone" was about the only time I've heard Tyra give reasonable advice.
Like it's less "all y'all being catty. I watched in editing." And more a "don't get too hung up x is talking about you, you've probably talked about x similarly too"

Also the blatant picking of a bad photo reminds me of Naima's kloofing picture in season 4 when they deliberately picked a bad photo because it was face on vs. 3/4 or profile which she excelled at. In season 9 they hounded Heather for the same issue but she pushed through her own ASD to NAIL a face on photo in the recycling episode.

I took tyra's advice very differently to you, she was talking generally about people talking about people and you have to step in their shoes and try and understand where its coming from which tbf i think is good advice and they used that advice to bridge a gap, thats a win imo

I it just me or did anyone else notice the difference in Tyra modeling and Tyra as a judge and host of this show? When she tried to stirr up that moment or when she is so judgy and harsh it never felt as authentic as that moment when she was in front of the camera posing and genuinely explaining what she does and why she does it. That was SO refreshing and nice.

They pulled the sad card super hard with Corinne in cycle 5. She was just very stoic. Also with Sara in cycle 2 (but I believe she was legit stressed about her relationship with her dad in terms of her modeling career…but they didn’t need to keep bringing it up). I’m sure there’s more but those two stand out.

I have a co-worker like Tyra who randomly says that someone said something about me.
I have a co-worker that helped me so much and gave me so much tips how to make my work better/easier and she says that this co-worker was complaining about me to my boss... like yea it could be true that this co-worker is two faced. But the thing is they don't like each other and she's mad that I have a good relationship with her. Also that co-worker could never tell me what she said (specifics) because she doesn't know what to make up, she just says SHE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT YOU, DON'T TELL HER I TOLD YOU I KNOW YOU WON'T TELL ANYWAY, BUT I STILL ASK YOU TO NOT TELL.
I was just like yea ok if she said something then she might had a bad day. And she was so mad because I didn't talk badly about her lol.
This co-worker that's good to me always helps me to clean up the place (our section before we close the store, I work on bread, pastry and sweets section. There is still a lot to do because jt's a super market and our section is kinda big.) And the other co-worker disappears the last 30-45 minutes so I have to do everything myself... after that she just praise me "ohhh you're such a good worker, you do everything) like yea no s**t lady. If I don't do it no one will and I have a bus to catch.

Hey Jessica, you probably have a lot on your plate. But when you have time, I highly suggest watching Australia's Next Top Model and would love to see your thoughts on each shoots since season 9 and 10 they brought in supermodels each shoots to direct the girls and the photographers are quite helpful. Plus, I feel like the comcept are so much more true to what the modelling world is instead of obscure ANTM photoshoot concepts.

@@abigailwilliams8889 I agree. It would however have been nice if she demonstrated it as well because when it came time to shoot some of the models either didn't know what to do or froze up/shut down when it was their turn. Alas it's a competition so in the end those who struggled with the concept were easier to eliminate.

This is at the very least how the first episodes should be. Her SHOWING the girls who have never modeled before how to model is needed. I swear she started this show to be the popular mean girl. Watches them crash and burn over and over until she finally decides to "help".
Edit: I am not of Asian descent, but I don't know how I feel about a kimono being modeled in a bra and panties... Being a Geisha is an art form, and they work extremely hard to become what they are and are very respected. There are different levels to being a Geisha and it's almost an elite practice. I watched the movie *Imprint* when I was younger and it caused me to go on a deep dive about Geishas and what they actually are and do.

If Tyra truly cared if Eva was sad she would ask her off camera. Of course the girls are going to have bad/off days and it would be normal to feel stressed by the competition. I modelled in Japan in my teens and it was an amazing experience for many reasons but mainly because of the other girls in my agency and the friendships we formed. It would have been so upsetting and confusing to have someone intentionally try and turn us against each other. 20 years later we are all still in touch via social media and share our fun and crazy memories regularly.

Watching all your ANTM videos really highlights just how effing rude and disrespectful Mr Jay was to the models week after week. It definitely seems like he's purposefully piling on certain models to break their spirit and the majority of the time isn't actually doing his job of giving them useful direction to take a good photo. He's more like a heckler on the sidelines, making snide comments and jokes and making the models feel insecure. Ann doesn't know my fair lady? Who cares! Instead of rolling your eyes like a teenager, give her another reference that she understands to help her and DO YOUR JOB.
