I feel like the real problem with Cassandra’s hair (other than she is uncomfortable with it) is the blonde. I think she can pull off the short but she’s meant to be dark. Could you imagine dark, short, and not messy. It would be very cute
I would die if anyone tried to cut off my hair, so I totally get how she feels. One time, I cut my hair where it no longer covered my boobs, and I felt naked constantly. I think it's so cruel that they forced these girls to cut and dye their hair like this, especially since long hair for women has been a symbol of beauty since forever.
@@aspenisthebestit’s hair. You’ll grow it back or fix it and add more, there are options. I have never understood crying over hair when she tells them before it happens. It’s not a surprise either, they all know this part is happening.
I agree. She needed to be brunette, but I do actually agree with Tyra that the actual Mia Farrow haircut would've been way better than what she actually got.
To be fair, Cassandra threw such a hissy fit about getting her hair cut at all, I am guessing the stylist just quit partway through. I mean, this was not the first season of this, you KNOW you are getting your hair cut or colored. Why be on the show if you are so against it?
1) Why did it take them NINE HOURS to cut Twiggy's hair? What the heck were they doing, taking it off one strand at a time? 2) "I was in shock for about a week" now granted I don't know the filming schedule for this show, but I refuse to believe that Cassandra has had a week to get over the shock of her new haircut. Maybe 2-3 days from makeovers to judging? Give the poor girl time to adjust. I said it on a previous video, but while MY opinion is "hair grows," that doesn't change the fact that getting your hair drastically cut when you don't want to can absolutely be traumatic. And for an aspiring model, it absolutely means having to relearn basically everything that you already taught yourself to get this far. I know people always comment that the contestants should expect the makeovers and drastic changes, but let's not forget that there have been plenty of contestants on here whose makeover was "we're going to give you highlights" or "we're going to add some volume with extensions but keep the length." Not every contestant has a drastic change and given that they all made it onto the show with their casting looks, it doesn't seem unreasonable for them to think that their makeover is going to continue that look, not completely change their appearance.
It wasn't the cut. Twiggy had dark brown nearly black hair to her but. They had to trim it. Do multiple dying processes on that trim amount to create the layers of color and then cut it again. It was the processing time, and in the 60's hair dyes took longer to process.
I think Twiggy tried to be sympathetic with how Cassandra felt when cutting her hair that short. I feel that she was one of the kindest judges of the whole series.
I have very long hair, myself, but I've had it cut against my will before. It's more than just hair. It's the fact that it is a part of me that I'm used to seeing in the mirror. When that's taken away, it's like, "Who am I looking at in the mirror now?"
This was the photoshoot I knew Nicole was gcoing to win. Nik was extraordinary. Mia Farro’s hair is iconic, how did they get it wrong? I feel suspicious and dubious things going on. Twiggy was the best judge, she really tried to help with comments that weren’t hurtful.
So Jay says he didn’t have the best time with Cassandra and felt that they are trying to make her into a model and I’m like, ok can someone tell Jay that that’s the point of the show!
She gets off cutting off girls hair, especially the mixed girls hair. Meanwhile, TYRA would NEVER. The only time she had short hair was season 21, and that was probably a wig.. she is so.....ughhhhh

I really think Nicole should've got best photo in my opinion. It's obvious the reason why Cassandra got best photo just to soften the blow for the hairstylist butchering her hair. Speaking of hair, they did Ebony dirty by keep telling her whipping her hair which was the reason why that photo was chosen, according to Jayla from her interview with Oliver TwiXt.
Cassandra did get the last laugh because she has become one of most successful models after the show. And her hair is very long again. She kept the blonde color though.

It definitely suited her but you have to be mentally prepared for such a drastic change. Plus she had virgin hair and they died it blonde, i cant imagine anyone taking that lightly
Lisa's an interesting one to watch because I remember not liking her when the show was on. But she's now come out and told some really powerful truth about the show and totally changed how I perceived her.
On makeover day, Cassandra did cry when they told her they were chopping off her hair. It's more than just hair. When they look in the mirror, they don't see themselves. Even moreso, they didn't consent to these looks. I can understand what she went through because I've had major changes in my life I didn't necessarily consent to.
Also, What happened here with the "messed up makeover that wasn't what Tyra wanted", seems to happen in every other cycle, going back to cycle 10 again, they gave Katarzyna a haircut (she had long flowing hair), Tyra wanted it short, so they gave her some sort of long bob, then after a photoshoot where they had her wearing an emo style wig, Tyra was like "Oh yeah, I think they gave you the wrong makeover, this is actually what I wanted..."... Like, really Tyra...?... BTW I think you reacted to that photoshoot, the music style one from cycle 10.
I always felt bad for the girls they forced extreme makeovers on. The show always pushed the "it's just hair" argument and to many people it's much more than that. Also, you have people like Lisa who got a makeover that actually hindered their ability to get jobs as a working model.

The reason Tyra corrected her about Mod was because their weekly challenge was to makeover their wardrobes into a style assigned to them as their new "personal style." I think it is a stupid challenge, but that's why she's doing it.

St.John is a heritage American fashion label, largely known for their little 'Chanel-ish' tweedy and jersey knit skirt suits that Ladies-Who-Lunch and some conservative working women used to rely on back in their heyday. It used to be a designer mother/daughter act where the daughter would always be shot in these lavish magazine ads with a bunch of handsome male models in some exotic locale. (And Sarah DOES look a little like her there in that shot.... the ads also were always shot with some sort of animal, so the horse made it very St. John.) They are currently going through a fairly successful revamp, according to the Vogue Runway website and the like.
I liked this photo shoot. Makes me wish they did a show like “America’s Top photographer.” Same girl, same location, a rail of clothes, see what they can do.
There’s a few pictures, like Kim or Bre’s where they are placed directly in front of the tree in a dark costume and it’s hard to see their pose. Questionable positioning. Jessica would never.
Did you watch the whole episode? Because they didnt cut her hair as directed because Cassandra didnt want them to. Not saying they shouldve, just that they hesitated to go shorter due to her reluctance
I agree with some of the comments that she would have been really cute with a brunette pixie or even a Bob cut. Why would you cast a girl with long dark hair and then be like yeah let's make it short and blonde 😂 when Nigel goes out of his way to tell her it looks nice it's a passive aggressive way of calling someone ungrateful. Like if someone bought you a dress which isn't your taste and you don't feel comfortable in then proceeds to tell you how amazing it is. You feel guilty for not liking something they obviously like
I see what they did in this photo shoot ! All the girls with the fluffed up hair are the judges favorites. All the girls with the straight hair are the ones they want to get rid of! Allegedly, of course 👀
I really wish they hadn’t screwed with Cassandra so much because she took good photos! She got first call out one week and this photographer seemed to like her
For Casandra: the hair stylist surly knows what a Mia Farrow hair style is, so IMO they did her cut on purpose so she would have to go back and get it over. All premeditated
Another thing - I'm a hairdresser, and Cassandra's hair is an entirely different thickness and texture than Mia Farrow's. Even if they cut off more, it would never naturally lie the same, let alone bare any significant resemblance to that "Rosemary's Baby" pixie style. It would also be extremely high maintenance (contrary to the general perception re: short haircuts).
Totally! To have that style work you have to have really thin hair right? Cassie’s hair was thick and had some natural wave so that just wasn’t going to happen. What kind of style would you have given her instead?
The older I get, the more i understand Cassandra reacting the way she did. I have an autoimmune disease that thinned my hair considerably years ago and I'm just now getting it thick again. It also grows SLOOOOWLY, so it's taken years to get it nearly waist-length. Yes, it's "just hair" and it grows back, but your hair is a part of your identity and you should feel comfortable with it. She does not, so they should have taken that into consideration. I've also never seen TYRA have her hair that short 🤷🏽♀️
I wouldn’t have given Cassandra that makeover. It’s a very strong look but she’s clearly not comfortable with it. If anything, I would’ve just given her some layers for texture and/or bangs that she can play with.
They did Cassie SO DIRTY she was a beauty queen and had this long dark hair that was SO important to her. She had a full-on meltdown at the salon during the makeovers. I feel so bad for her.
On this episode, Tyra told them what they were going to do before the makeovers. She told Cassandra that she would be getting that specific haircut, and Cassandra was not amused. Then during the makeover, Cassandra told them that she wouldn't let them go any shorter (which is why it looked the way it did after). I still think they would've eliminated her even had she agreed to go shorter because of her picture, so I'm kind of glad she didn't go through with it lol
I hope you found out what St. John’s is! I understood it as the clothing brand, St. John, and they focus on high end knitted material fashion. My mom has so much of it! She started collecting in the 80’s with a poof sleeved, sequin front, long knit dress. She now has a bunch of their skirt and pant suits. Definitely for a more mature crowd nowadays, but not 40 years ago. Way more expensive than I’d ever pay for clothing. But it was an investment because she’s gotten a ton of use out of her collection.
I think Cassandra's hair would have looked more like Tyra wanted if she had combed it down, instead of spiking it up like that. It really didn't look much longer than Mia Farrow's in that pic. The styling was just off.
While I agree, the fact she wanted more cut off was done likely deliberately to get more drama from Cassandra. Even back then I looked at her haircut and went “it is Mia Farrow’s haircut.” Tyra didn’t like Cassandra having her personality shine through.
The horse wasn't trying to bite Lisa to hurt her. Probabaly was just wondering if she had any snacks in her pocket to share with him/her. My pony would 'bite'my coat sometimes but it was only ever on the zippers to open them because he knew that sometimes there were treats behind them
Yeah something about lisa feels off to me like I'm wondering what is going on in her head. She doesnt seem like a very good or trustworthy person. And I found her to be unattractive and annoying on the show. Lisa winning the all stars cycle pisses me off it shouldve been allison dammit. Also lisa is the only contestant (that I'm aware of) that is still to this day talking about her experience in interviews and stuff. She still gives me a bad vibe and I still dont like her
I think they did Cassandra dirty. Imagine how gorgeous her photos could have looked with just a decent trim. They definitely forced that look onto her. A model should be able to feel confident all the time. Also....wigs exist.
I’m convinced they didn’t know what toner was during this show because Cassandra’s hair is literally not toned which makes it way worse pluses she or they spiked it up like a boy in middle school in 2001 if her hair was even dirty blonde it would be better
They WANT to cut her hair again. But she refuses so she goes home. And at the time (when i was like 10), i thought that Cassandra was whiney but as an adult, i understand that it was emotional abuse on ANTM’s part. They use makeovers to abuse these young women.
Girl I'm so jealous you're already playing Tears of the Kingdom, I'm planning to buy it for myself and my son for our birthdays (3 days apart so we celebrate together) in a couple weeks and I cant wait ❤❤❤ I love these ANTM reaction videos, keep em coming 😊
16:49 ok but she wore that top for her audition for the producers … surprised they didn’t just say that she wore it before and get her to change shirts like they did with Allison and Teyona It’s like they couldn’t get anything from her by talking about her hair… they want so badly to catch her off guard
St John is a high end brand where the daughter of the founders was the model for all of the shoots. That’s changed now. The daughter was Linda Grey I believe and the judges are spot on in this case
They explained the "gamely" comment... James Saint James (the guy next to Nigel) said the girl looked like RuPaul... indicating he thought she looked manly.
The issue with makeovers for me is that the unprofessional way they handle it. I think it would be better for them to sit down with them, stylists, and an agent and have everyone discuss and decide what is best for each model-with the model. ANTM does the makeovers but without any input from the model. I know models don’t always have control over certain things, but this show is (supposed to be) about their careers. It also really irritates me when this show says “the girls.” These are all grown adult WOMEN.
I could never handle this show. There is so much manipulation and gaslighting in the judges comments to the models, AND I have always noticed that for some reason they will use the Worse image of the roll for certain models. I hope these girls get some compensation for being on the show and putting up with what ever producers decide to do with them.
I’m not gonna lie I loved this cut on Casandra. I would’ve never realized how amazing her face/bone structure was with her long brown hair. Idk if she would’ve looked good with the Mia Farrow cut, but I think this length worked.
I feel like the real problem with Cassandra’s hair (other than she is uncomfortable with it) is the blonde. I think she can pull off the short but she’s meant to be dark. Could you imagine dark, short, and not messy. It would be very cute

“Before we see who gets eliminated for no reason” 😂😂
You mentioned Halloweentown! The nostalgia! I love those movies!
I liked this photo shoot. Makes me wish they did a show like “America’s Top photographer.” Same girl, same location, a rail of clothes, see what they can do.
VH1 did a show called "the shot".
There’s a few pictures, like Kim or Bre’s where they are placed directly in front of the tree in a dark costume and it’s hard to see their pose. Questionable positioning. Jessica would never.
Omg I missed your antm reactions so much!
I love your references Jessica. That was definitely a Grandma Aggie outfit!! 😂😂😂.
I loved this photo shoot and you had awesome commentary. 💜✨
This is def one of the best photoshoots on ANTM.
I worked in 94°+ heat today and felt kinda rough after work. I saw you had a new Top Model up and I did a literal air fist pump! Thank you!
thank YOU for watching! take care of yourself in that heat!
Do you work at a fair
I really wish they hadn’t screwed with Cassandra so much because she took good photos! She got first call out one week and this photographer seemed to like her
10:33 that was pretty funny and cute how he’s like right hip not left and she changes it tries to make it all smooth 😂
St John is knitwear with some sort of shine embellishment .. I imagine a very thin 65+ yo with teased coif pulled face in Dallas or Bal Harbor..
I’ve been binging these videos like crazy Jessica! Your channel makes work go by so easy❤❤❤
Love her 10x more knowing she appreciates how iconic Halloween town is
For Casandra: the hair stylist surly knows what a Mia Farrow hair style is, so IMO they did her cut on purpose so she would have to go back and get it over.
Lisa is drop dead gorgeous ❤
It's so cute that you and your cat are matching 😂
The older I get, the more i understand Cassandra reacting the way she did. I have an autoimmune disease that thinned my hair considerably years ago and I'm just now getting it thick again. It also grows SLOOOOWLY, so it's taken years to get it nearly waist-length. Yes, it's "just hair" and it grows back, but your hair is a part of your identity and you should feel comfortable with it. She does not, so they should have taken that into consideration. I've also never seen TYRA have her hair that short 🤷🏽♀️
I love that music you put in the intro idk why😂❤
I love Halloween Town❤❤ One of many memories I cherish watching with my mom. Thank you for hitting A Good Memory for me 💕💕
Cassandra now is married to Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) ❤
I think Cassandra's hair would have looked more like Tyra wanted if she had combed it down, instead of spiking it up like that. It really didn't look much longer than Mia Farrow's in that pic. The styling was just off.
While I agree, the fact she wanted more cut off was done likely deliberately to get more drama from Cassandra. Even back then I looked at her haircut and went “it is Mia Farrow’s haircut.”
Tyra didn’t like Cassandra having her personality shine through.
The horse wasn't trying to bite Lisa to hurt her. Probabaly was just wondering if she had any snacks in her pocket to share with him/her. My pony would 'bite'my coat sometimes but it was only ever on the zippers to open them because he knew that sometimes there were treats behind them
Kim ends up being a news anchor for MTV and she’s fabulous ❤
Also, 100% Lisa was messing with Ebony's head. She was a huge pot-stirrer and bully.
She still gives me a bad vibe and I still dont like her
'That is black Town and Country, girl' Okay so is that a good thing...?
I think they did Cassandra dirty. Imagine how gorgeous her photos could have looked with just a decent trim. They definitely forced that look onto her. A model should be able to feel confident all the time.
Also....wigs exist.
Also, if you wanted a model to give more face, buns and ponytails. 🤷♂️
Cassandra is now married to Stephen Amell, who stars in Heels-love that show!
Cassandra hair would have worked if it was styled better. If they styled it like Mia farrows, the length wouldn’t have mattered.
I was just looking around for a comment like this before I said it myself! AGREED.
I Specifically said Mia Farrow in Rosemarys baby is so iconic
i actually love cassandra’s haircut 🫣🫣🫣 a little shorter could be cute but i love the messy style of it
I'm pretty sure St Johns was a clothing line. 😂
Was looking for this - also this is still a fashion brand.
Girl I'm so jealous you're already playing Tears of the Kingdom, I'm planning to buy it for myself and my son for our birthdays (3 days apart so we celebrate together) in a couple weeks and I cant wait ❤❤❤ I love these ANTM reaction videos, keep em coming 😊
tyra must answer for her crimes
this is what this channel has taught me
😂😂
16:49 ok but she wore that top for her audition for the producers … surprised they didn’t just say that she wore it before and get her to change shirts like they did with Allison and Teyona
It’s like they couldn’t get anything from her by talking about her hair… they want so badly to catch her off guard
I still think that Cassandra would've look so good with the shorter cut
10:12 please review cycle 11, specifically for Marjorie.
St John is a high end brand where the daughter of the founders was the model for all of the shoots. That’s changed now. The daughter was Linda Grey I believe and the judges are spot on in this case
Love your commentary 😂
Hi Jessica, how are you and what did you have for breakfast today?
granola bar 😂
granola bar😂
They explained the "gamely" comment... James Saint James (the guy next to Nigel) said the girl looked like RuPaul... indicating he thought she looked manly.
Your cat said, “I’m sorry, you have a what?” 😂
Sara is stunning
St. John’s is a town and country lifestyle type brand
I can think of a few of the competitors who have said their agencies told them the looks they were given were not versatile enough
@@casna5400
I’ve heard several horror stories about how agents won’t hire you at all if you have ANTM on your resume.
I could never handle this show. There is so much manipulation and gaslighting in the judges comments to the models, AND I have always noticed that for some reason they will use the Worse image of the roll for certain models.
I hope these girls get some compensation for being on the show and putting up with what ever producers decide to do with them.
21:15 Twiggy trying to keep it classy, and Tyra brings the level waaaay down.
I’m not gonna lie I loved this cut on Casandra. I would’ve never realized how amazing her face/bone structure was with her long brown hair. Idk if she would’ve looked good with the Mia Farrow cut, but I think this length worked.
