I know you guys may not seem to believe it but when they repeatedly state in the show that Cersei loves her children, it isn’t a red herring or just something that’s said willy nilly. Cersei does love her children, it is the one good thing about her. Tyrion wasn’t exaggerating or joking when he said that. Cersei is all about protecting her children, her children are her everything. I know it’s hard to believe her but she isn’t lying about that. She once said “love no one but your children, on that count, a mother has no choice” and she is serious about that.
As much as its possible for Cercei to love anyone, which I always had doubt of, I think she does love her children. To me, its in more of a narcissistic, "theyre a reflection of me" way, but she is protective of them.
@@bobmarley7744 I feel that's kind of true in the show too. If she actually loved Tommen more than power she wouldn't have done what she did at the end of S6
Concerning the controversial scene with Jaime and Cersei in the church. It's a really bad and poorly constructed scene. Like, it was supposed to show how bad they are as a couple and just how much they drifted apart, but it just looked like rape. In the books, it was consensual and was actually a good way to demonstrate just how toxic their relationship was. The director/editors/actors have all came out and apologized, explaining that it wasn't supposed to be a rape scene. I believe it was also said that Lena, who is Cersei's actor, forgot some lines during that scene (which is pretty vital because in the books she tells Jaime to do it). If anything, this scene goes completely against a core concept of Jaime's character since he's heavily against rape. It's why he saved Brienne from getting raped in the first place, has killed his own soldiers who raped a woman, and was a huge reason why he hated the mad king. When Jaime was a young and hopeful knight who just joined the Kingsguard, the mad king used to station Jaime at his door while he violently raped his wife, forcing Jaime to listen. Jaime pleaded to the other Kingsguard that they are sworn to protect the Queen as well, but was quickly brushed aside that yes they are sworn to protect the queen, "but not from him." This completely broke Jaime and shattered his idealistic perception of what it means to be an "honorable knight." Jaime has always been particularly against rape and the fact that this scene makes it look like one pisses me off. Funnily enough, the scene is never referenced again, affects no characters, and serves no purpose to the plot. So while I don't think you should completely forget about this scene, I think you should definitely take it with a grain of salt concerning Jaime's character.
I'll admit the Lena thing was a theory I heard talked about on forums, but wasn't sure on (hence why I said I believe). However, how are you going to say the directors/editors/actors didn't apologize for creating one of the most controversial scenes in Game of Thrones? You also have Jaime and Cersei's actors saying that the scene WASN'T rape (even if it was). It's pretty obvious that the scene wasn't intended to be rape, which is why they apologized for it and why it's never brought up in the story ever again. It makes no logical sense to have a character they're trying to redeem and is explicitly against rape, rape his sister. Especially since it doesn't happen in the books which means it's a media production failure rather than a conscious decision. Saying it was supposed to be rape the whole time is an idiotic statement.
It really isn't such massive mistake as some pretend. The dialogue in the books and in the show for this scene is almost exactly the same, in the books we just have the added benefit of getting into a character's head. It is more difficult to show a character's internal thoughts in a visual medium.
sean543213 I believe for a change George wanted to portray Cersei in a better light than Jaime , which makes sense her son just died only a real monster would willingly go threw with that while her son's body rests a grip away from her . I think it showed Jaime as a man with real animalistic nature not just purely in love with Cersei the physical aspect is very important to him as well. That's my take on it anyway from my understanding of how George Martin thinks as a writer.
1. In the books Cercei tells Jaime to do it QUICKLY after she realizes Jaime won't stop no matter how many times she tells him to. She said do it quickly so no one sees us. It WAS a rape in the books. It was a few days since Jaime came back from captivity and he wanted her badly. 2. I don't see a point in apologizing for showing a rape scene. That's part of our reality and reality of GoT world so why just pretend it does not happen? Especially considering that there was plenty of other more gross stuff in the show.
Watch the video first. The video has been uploaded 56 mins ago and your comment is 50 minutes ago... It is not a game where it is the first person to point something out.
It's such a small detail but when joffrey is poisoned and he starts to claw at his throat you can see tywin grab tommen and turn him away so he can't see his brother dying. In a sick way tywin really does care for his family.
Derek Furst That's a straight up lie, he's shown warmth to Jaime, Cersei and even Tyrion at a few moments. He's definitely shown warmth to his three brothers and his sister as well.
Tywin has always loved his family. He loved his wife deeply, this is why, when she died, he was a changed man and why he never really could love Tyrion. But he was the child of his most beloved wife and could not bring himself to kill him as a newborn. He never recovered from her death.
@@Melissa-wx4lu - Yes I agree - it's probably more explicit in the books. Tywin is your classic High Lord - arrogant, ruthless & ambitious but also clever & proud of his heritage. The fact he didn't remarry which would have been the normal thing for someone in his position to do speaks a lot about his love for his wife.
@@Melissa-wx4lu yeah I was going to say, isn't it a quote that the only time anyone has ever seen Tywin smile is at his wife? He wasn't exactly a warm man before, but it definitely messed him up.
A bit of lore that has been referenced here and there but never explicitly explained- When the first Targaryens moved from Valyria and conquered Westeros, they could only conquer 6 kingdoms. They never conquered the 7th i.e. Dorne. The Targaryens married the Dornish and brought them into the fold. This is why Oberyn and Doran are referred to as Princes while the leaders of other houses are referred to as Lords. I bring this up because in this episode you see Tywin trying to appease and ally with the Martells of Dorne while making a remark about how they defended themselves against the Dragons of Aegon the Conqueror. He suggests that they might need to do it against Daenerys as well.
Titanic while Daenerys did marry Maron Martell, the marriage that brought Dorne into the fold was the one between their siblings 2 decades prior to it- between Daeron the Good and Mariah Martell
Titanic oooh so it’s “First of Her Name” on the throne, NOT the first of that particular name in the entire family? Makes sense but I thought it was the former. Cheers!
Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey, is an amazing actor. Everyone realized how much they loved his portrayal of Joffrey after his character was killed off. It's even more impressive when you realize he's not anything like Joffrey in real life. For a young actor like him to hold his own with established talents like Charles Dance and Peter Dinklage, it really speaks to his talent.
Dobby Yes , her conversation with Tyrion in a previous Episode about how she even loves joffery and how he wasn't such a dick head as a young(er) child , until she brain washed him that it . So she definitely wouldn't hurt him , but she technically have by continually feeding his brain crap. So to me she did kill him by making him into such a hateful person , but then again she does it because she is mean and hateful by nature .
Dobby Yes, I don't understand why people keep thinking that Cercei would hurt her own children! What ever she is, she loves her children to no end! That and her cheekbones! LOL! She actually spoiled Joffery so much, he became more of a turd then he already was!
Another Actor Note: When laying in state, Jack Gleeson was so comfortable he fell asleep when filming his funeral scene. Previously, when Joffrey was dying, Jack Gleeson pulled focus so well. No one noticed that the camera let the audience look right down the front of Cersei's dress.
I think the producers have said that the Jaime/Cersei scene wasn't supposed to be a flatout rape, and they failed to make it look kind of consensual with only a moderate amount of coercion and a high level of right-next-to-your-dead-son-creepiness like it was supposed to. Believe it if you want.
I believe for a change George wanted to portray Cersei in a better light than Jaime , which makes sense her son just died only a real monster would willingly go threw with that while her son's body rests a grip away from her . Yes. Me as well. I like that they don't just watch but are engaged with the show. Plus I love seeing other people appreciate what I see in the show. I'm getting more anxious for the newest episodes because we all know the show takes off and keeps getting better at this point. I know one episode I found myself screaming aloud and didn't realize I was screaming at the tv due to shock. 🤣😎
One thing I just noticed rewatching this season with y’all is how far ahead Tywin is thinking when talking to Oberyn when he brings up Dany and her dragons.
Little Finger: "We're all liars here." … Ser Allistor Thorne: "You always know when a man is telling a lie. How did you acquire this magical power." Maester Aemon: "I grew up in Kings Landing." LOL
Little fun fact that I just remembered, the actor playing Podrick is the son of the actor who played Ser Rodrick, the Stark’s master of arms who was sloppily beheaded by Theon in season 2. I thought it was cool that father and son were able to act in the same TV show, and that their characters names rhymed so well. ☺️ Thanks for the great reaction!
In an interview Jack Gleeson has said that the hardest thing he's ever had to do in his acting career was lay there motionless while Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had loud angry sex on top of his dead body. He apparently almost choked keeping the laughter in. I'm a Scot. We've had Clan Banners and House Words for centuries. My own is a merman (a male mermaid) wearing a crown, holding a sword I one hand and a large key in the other, and the words are "THIS WE WILL DEFEND." Gold on green.
Gold on green I like that . So u r aquaman then ? Lol you can tell us it's a safe place here 😂👌 , also yeah heard that fact about jack I met him twice he is insanely underrated ! Smart kind sharp AF and hyterical not to mention how Brilliant of an actor he is at his young age .
Arya knows she's in the Riverlands because the Hound mentions where he thinks they are and there are rivers and streams everywhere. The Tullys of Riverrun, her mother's family, ruled that area and while it's now under Frey control because of the Red Wedding, the people would still be loyal to the old ruling family.
Arya's mother was a Tully and they are in the region ruled by the Tully's, the Riverlands... at least that's how I remember it. Great reaction as always :)
Two great English actors Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister and Diana Rigg as Lady Olenna. Whenever you get a chance look up Dianna Rigg in her younger days - she kinda looks like Natalie Dormer who play Margery Tyrell. BTW great reaction - you guys don't miss a beat or any detail left unturned...it's great ❤️❤️❤️❤️
GUYS! i have to say, watching your intro just blew me away. i remember when you started watching these and you were both so innocent. but now i see that you have an amazing, firm view and understanding of EVERYTHING, and a fierce growing thirst for more knowledge of this world. its incredible to witness, really. and thank you so much for allowing us all to share in it all :)
PS. and if you guys can get your hands on a copy of 'A WORLD OF ICE AND FIRE' it would fill you in on all the history of the world. some chapters would be potential spoilers but could be moderated. but most of the chapters are on the houses and the history of those house. its incredible and i think you guys would love it and benefit even more from that back story knowledge :)
The speech from the champion at the gates of Meereen was intentionaly mistranslated. He really says,” Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries!” From Monty Pythons The Holy Grail!
Arya is very smart but she knew what to say because she knew she was in the Riverlands and her grandfather’s house (House Tully) ruled the Riverlands until the red wedding. Now Tywin gave it to House Frey to rule.

One of cersei's defining characteristics is that she truly does love her children. Probably only her children. she would never have done anything to hurt Joffrey.
Josh York Cersei's concept and understanding of Love is Fucked up so saying she loves him , she loves Jaime most of all and she rejected his ass after losing a hand which he lost trying to get back to her and because in her Savage words You took too long loOl!
Age Of The Witch I didn't say she loves Jamie I said she loves her kids. It's literally been setup you throughout the entire show as her one redeeming quality to make her not a complete monster. That's clear to everyone around her.
**Zenobia** thats a rediculous statement. Her kids didn't give her any power until Robert was dead and even then it was only Jofferey. She loves Tommen and Marcella and theyve never given her any power. If you think that then you havent been paying attention to her character development.
Josh York Cersei still had power through her children when Bob was alive. The power of heirs to the throne. Stan only had a daughter and Renly couldn't do it with Ser Loris pushing. Bobby B was too self-centered to realize his kids were blond, so as long as she had them her place was secure to not be replaced as the Queen.
The "rape" scene between Jaime and Cersei is very strange... In the books, this is a consensual sex scene... In the show, its clearly edited and shot in a way that says rape.. However, the writers and actors have said that this wasn't their clear intention... In the books, this is the scene where Jaime and Cersei are reunited. Jaime wasn't there for Joffrey's wedding, and when he meets his sister in the sept, they are so overcome by relief in seeing each other, that they just have sex... In the show, Jaime has been back for weeks, and they've been fighting, so the scene has a totally different tone... Honestly I think they should've just left it out. If they intended for Jaime to rape her, then they failed this as a plotline, because they never address it again. Neither Cersei nor Jaime act in any way beyond this scene to indicate any rape happened. Its strange and I guess I can only pretend it never happened.
Now, i don't want this comment thread to turn into a show vs book thing plz... im just laying out this argument for them to know, since this is just a weird, mishandled scene.
well i think about it not as a rape scene but Cersei was conflicted on the one side she didn't wanted to fuck him on the other side she went along with it clearly kissing him back its not white or black like most of the show but yeah most people would have enjoyed it more if it was more like the books
He didn't rape her, rape isn't about "saying no", it's about consent, that's why people have safe words that aren't just "no". This is especially true in older times, you are looking at this from a modern perspective, with modern sensibilities on how you have to express yourself. Even in todays world there is a lot of "I am not sure" and "we shouldn't be doing this". I can assure you that back then, a man or woman would be required to be firm in order to express non-consent. I don't think it would have even come up in the mind of either of them that it would be rape just because she said put in a token "stop it", all the while continuing to grope and kiss him. You don't know their relationship, I don't know their relationship, we don't have their rapport, we don't know how they interact, and the idea that we can simplify complex interractions between two people who've known each other sexually their entire lives into "standard interractions" is just naive way to view the world. We know Jaime doesn't like rape, we know Cersei wouldn't take kindly to being raped, from this we can gather that neither considered it to be rape. It's clear to me that Cersei and Jaime both considered her hesitance as being a token effort, and that if she actually had wanted him to stop she'd have done whatever it is that they've mutually agreed on as being the sign that the other is crossing the line. This is why it's up to a rape victim to press charges, because "consent" isn't a solid, external thing, it's an internal state of mind. The only person who can say Cersei was raped, is Cersei. Cersei doesn't seem to think she was raped, ergo, she wasn't raped.
It’s fairly pointless to try and argue about whether the scene is rape or not... the ultimate take away is that it’s just strange and mishandled and should be more or less ignored
The wildlings are attacking villages south of the Wall in an attempt to draw the Night's Watch out of Castle Black and into the open, where they could be picked off. It's also a way of making the smallfolk living in the area south of the Wall (known as The Gift) to lose faith in the Night's Watch and stop sending them food and supplies. (This is also why the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is called that. He is literally the lord of The Gift).
What the hell man. Why are you two the most likeable people/reactors/content creators on the internet. I consistently go to you guys first to get your reactions. Keep it going forever!
"I know better than to say this, but... Tyrion can't die!" * Sigh * Steven... Did you just singlehandedly put a nail in our favorite dwarf's coffin?? You must be more careful lol
I get so excited, your upload schedule is amazing. I eat, I drink, I’m tired, I want to lay down, I pull the blanket over my body “New Video: Game of Thrones s4 e3 reaction”. I love you guys!
Ah, I remember reading the books and wondering about whodunit myself. The books are more cryptic about it but seeing you guess is great. I really like experiencing the show with you as you go along.
Great reaction guys. Just a little clarification for you. Daenerys was telling the people of Meereen that she freed all the slaves in Astapor and Yunkai. She then launched the barrels of "slave collars" over the city walls. As I am sure the collars of the children were included in the whole lot, the barrels were filled with the collars of every person she freed from both Astapor and Yunkai. This was a way of showing the masters that she had done what she said she had and a showing to the people of Meereen that they can be free if they want to be. She is awesome. Keep up the great work you two!
I never really used to care much for react type channels, but seeing people watch great shows like GoT for the first time has really sold me. I'm so happy ( and jealous) that you guys get to experience these episodes for the first time.
Another great reaction. It's so much fun watching you two watching GoT. Poor Nikki "somethings going to happen to the horse" and sure enough. And yes, you called it with Tywin, he's a master at both manipulation and tactics. On to epi 4!
I just love you guys! I don't think I've commented before, but I'm an obsessive GoT reaction viewer and have been watching you guys from the get-go. Hearing your theories is so fun and interesting! :D
Jashana C Welcome to the Family 🙏 feel free to comment all you like . While trying to avoid spoilers ofcourse , what do you think of the new sigil house name and motto ?
I love your analysis at the beginning of each episode as you try to work it all out! 😃 Another thing you may not have noticed about Bran's vision - the Iron Throne was standing in a throne room/hall that had no roof & the room/hall looked ruined.
You guys are about halfway to being caught up. Crazy when you think about it. There are 67 episodes currently. You guys are done with 33 of them. And the story continues to get bigger as we go on!
And the plot of Season 4 begins to build! Arya and the Hound together are simply the definition of awesome. I love watching them interact and Arya learns more from every interaction she has. Lady Olenna...I just love that woman. She is so blunt and unafraid of what people think. Sansa is quite changed from the spoiled girl she was at the beginning but there’s more to come for all involved! Can’t wait to see you guys react to the rest of these episodes. Naturally I have specific ones in mind but I’ll keep those to myself so you can experience it without expectation!
Those were not the collars from the walkway, there were only 163 of those collars. Those were from the city she freed. It's showing the slaves that they don't have to live like that and there is another way. It's amazing psychological warfare.
I LOVE watching you guys think this out. In my mind I’m like, “yes, you’re on it,” “no, not that direction.” How dare the both of you! LOL! You haven’t met Margaery/Loras’ mother yet (not saying you will, not saying you won’t). Lady Olenna is their grandmother. I give you Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen: First of Her Name, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Mother of Dragons, & (now) Breaker of Chains! Not defending what Jaime did but I think he did it bc he wanted to prove to Cersei that he still could do the deed. He might’ve been under the impression that Cersei didn’t want him for whatever reason. Oddly enough, I think this will turn Cersei on later on. I was gonna type ∧ whole explanation about Bran, the Men of the North, the Children of the Forest, Wargs, greensight, heart trees, weirwood tree, & the godswood. I know all/most of these terms have been used so far but idk if they’ve so far been explained. So I didn’t.
Don't know if you guys are fans of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but there's a heck of an easter egg in this episode. From an article in The Guardian: "In the episode Breaker of Chains, the show's linguist David Peterson created the ultimate in-joke with series creator Dan Weiss, by translating Monty Python quotes into Low Valyrian, a language used by a clan on the show. More specifically, he took the insults hurled by a French soldier in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, such as "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries." "That was [series creator] Dan Weiss's idea and it was so hilarious that I had to do it," said Peterson in an interview on the production blog for the show. "There's a scene where the Meereenese rider is challenging Daenerys' champion. He's shouting and Nathalie Emmanuel [Missandei] is translating - but she's not translating what he's saying. He's actually saying a Low Valyrian translation of the French guy's insults in Monty Python And The Holy Grail." Nevertheless, sharp-eared fans noticed and managed to at least partially translate the Monty Python quotes the rider is actually shouting. "Right after that episode aired, I was getting tweets like: Is he saying a 'your momma' joke? Close… But no, he's actually starting out with, 'Your mother is a hamster.'"
Lesson learned: Do not taunt Daenerys a second time. She will not go away. Farting in her general direction is probably unwise as well (especially if the dragons are around).
@@0okamino Her dragons will "fart" back in your general direction :D *There's another Monty Python reference that even comes around twice when Shireen teaches Davos to read -- he pronounces "knight" kn-ig-ht/kinniget" just like the French taunter.*
To say a few words in defense of Jaime: both the actors and the show writers said they didn’t really mean to depict that as a rape scene. Cersei’s protests were meant to sort of be token given the situation and where they were, but did actually want to have sex with Jaime. And I don’t think it was Jaime’s fault Joffrey died. He’s a bodyguard, not a wine tester.
Fernando Well I mean I can easily see the confusion, it definitely looked like one to me at first. I only point that it wasn’t so it’s not confusing the next time the two of them are onscreen together.
Cersei is manipulating Jaime in the book version of those scenes. It's awkward, but far from rape. As much as I want to defend the show, I have nothing to say here other than they interpreted the characters, or thought they were presenting them in completely different ways than they really were.
That raven sigil would make a kickass tattoo. The alliance between House Lannister and House Tyrell would have been safe, even after Joffrey died, so long as Tommen remained in the line of succession. The Lannisters still had a need for the Tyrells' wealth, meaning that a marriage to Tommen after Joffrey's death would have been pretty much guaranteed.
Age of the Witch …. BEAUTIFUL homage to our fun reaction channel family … LOL!!! The flag is Awesome and the Raven is Incredible. Simply Lovely!!! Thank you for sharing. …. PEACE from "A Grandmother" of House Burns.
Qarymee Presents • actually, it’s “Nābēmātās!” Although they used “Naejot” again, it means “forward”. Memēbātās means “march”. Nābēmātās means "Fire (unfasten)!" “Naejot memēbātās” vs “Naejot! Nābēmātās!” S3E4 S4E3 I didn’t know any of this till I looked it up BEFORE I attempted to correct you. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Qarymee Presents I’m sure there are. You just gotta look. Google it, UA-cam it, look up on FB, &/or lookup hashtags on IG. I’ve not taken any classes. I just took 5mins to google “High Valyrian spoken by Daenerys.” Google got me thru Chemistry so why not GOT! Cheers!
Cracks me up everytime i hear Davos tell princess Shireen that he needs a smart person to write the letter to the bank of Braavos.. he considers a kid smarter than himself, its touching and funny at the same time.

@@LetsTalkOnePiece In OUR present day culture, sure. It's just a fact of life in our own past and this story's universe. Dany was lucky she could actually have feelings for Drogo. Though I realize that she is the same age as Sansa was when they married her to Tyrion. It's interesting that they made Drogo worse than he was, and made Tyrion so much better than he actually is in the books.
@@Gwenhwyfar7 No, it's not. Thirteen year olds were not regularly getting married or having sex in medieval times. Even back then, the average marriage age was early 20s. Children having sex was NEVER normal in our culture - that's something gross men tell us, to justify being attracted to children. Now one CAN argue that it's a normal fact of the GoT universe. But claiming that it was ever normal in our own past is just a blatant lie. That's not true.
@@LordofFullmetal It entirely depended on social status. I can think of several in my own family tree. In England, one could get married as young as 12 as a girl, 14 as a boy. Most would wait, but it still happened plenty often.

Its funny because dany is so badass, serious most of the time and very powerful in her demeanor. Then u look at Emilia Clarke and she’s the biggest goofball in existence 😂. She does an amazing job in this role.
The Jaime/Cersei rape scene was one of the biggest mis-steps in the show. It wasn't a rape in the books, and the showrunners have stated that it wasn't intended to be construed as a rape, but what we saw on screen was a rape.
Misastar Chan I actually do. I know.. Amazing huh? That's because when I hear that word... it usually comes with a context. I'm not saying Jaime did or didn't rape her. I just saw it differently. Cersei and Jaime are both incredibly broken for incredibly different reasons and they chose to express their frustrations in different ways. First the kiss and then it snowballed into sex on the floor. I think Cersei saying "Stop it, it's not right" She's saying it not because she doesn't want Jaime. It's because their fucking right next to their son's dead body in the middle of the Sept where I assume anyone can just walk in. In which Jaime replied "I don't care". Now I fully understand that this is easily a fucked up scene and that it could be interpreted as rape among other fucked up things (Incest, Tywin's lack of sensitivity, arousal in the presence of your dead child, sex in a sacred place). But it's not that easy... There is history between these characters and feeling and emotions and tragic events. The only reason why people were so outraged about this scene is because it came out in a time where the social climate was/is so gung-ho to call out anything pertaining sexual assault.
Dolorous Vin I believe for a change George wanted to portray Cersei in a better light than Jaime , which makes sense her son just died only a real monster would willingly go threw with that while her son's body rests a grip away from her . I think it showed Jaime as a man with real animalistic nature not just purely in love with Cersei the physical aspect is very important to him as well. That's my take on it anyway from my understanding of how George Martin thinks as a writer.
Thomas Christopher White. So you're saying that it is rape depending of the context? ...what? You're putting lame excuses and saying "well is more complex than that". No. No it's not. If your lover doesn't want to have sex, and you force her/him, it is rape. Simple as that. Even if you have already a relationship with that person. With the last justification you gave. About being in a society that considers "everything" sexual assault. Are you really that dumb to blame society to have more concience and morality about certain bad behaviors? Come the fuck on!
tyrion to cersei "You love your children. It's your one redeeming quality - that and your cheek bones".
Thank you Lena, I’m thrilled with her cheekbones too.
BetaArtemis It’s not really true in the books though which is why it sucks. She uses her children for power in the books.
As much as its possible for Cercei to love anyone, which I always had doubt of, I think she does love her children. To me, its in more of a narcissistic, "theyre a reflection of me" way, but she is protective of them.
BetaArtemis and that makes her any better? Lol
@@jons2022 He never said that....
@@bobmarley7744 I feel that's kind of true in the show too. If she actually loved Tommen more than power she wouldn't have done what she did at the end of S6

Pod is awesome
Podrick is one of my favorite characters.
Jaime pleaded to the other Kingsguard that they are sworn to protect the Queen as well, but was quickly brushed aside that yes they are sworn to protect the queen, "but not from him." This completely broke Jaime and shattered his idealistic perception of what it means to be an "honorable knight."
Jaime has always been particularly against rape and the fact that this scene makes it look like one pisses me off.
That's just your opinion.
It really isn't such massive mistake as some pretend. The dialogue in the books and in the show for this scene is almost exactly the same, in the books we just have the added benefit of getting into a character's head. It is more difficult to show a character's internal thoughts in a visual medium.

I believe for a change George wanted to portray Cersei in a better light than Jaime , which makes sense her son just died only a real monster would willingly go threw with that while her son's body rests a grip away from her .
Lady Olenna isnt her mother. Its her grandmother

A bit of lore that has been referenced here and there but never explicitly explained-
When the first Targaryens moved from Valyria and conquered Westeros, they could only conquer 6 kingdoms.
The Targaryen princess that married into House Martell was also called Daenerys.
Titanic while Daenerys did marry Maron Martell, the marriage that brought Dorne into the fold was the one between their siblings 2 decades prior to it- between Daeron the Good and Mariah Martell
And here I’ve been styling Daenerys “First of Her Name” when she isn’t. Thanks!
@@taurion87 Dany is still the first of her name because Dornish Daenerys was never a ruling queen.

Cersei would never ever hurt her own children. She even loves Joffrey, althought she knows that he's a psycho
Dobby
Yes , her conversation with Tyrion in a previous Episode about how she even loves joffery and how he wasn't such a dick head as a young(er) child , until she brain washed him that it . So she definitely wouldn't hurt him , but she technically have by continually feeding his brain crap. So to me she did kill him by making him into such a hateful person , but then again she does it because she is mean and hateful by nature .
Dobby
Yes, I don't understand why people keep thinking that Cercei would hurt her own children! What ever she is, she loves her children to no end! That and her cheekbones! LOL! She actually spoiled Joffery so much, he became more of a turd then he already was!
Olenna is Margaery's grandmother, not mother.
Ninos Khaey yep, we understand, we misspoke - Nikki
One thing I just noticed rewatching this season with y’all is how far ahead Tywin is thinking when talking to Oberyn when he brings up Dany and her dragons.
Little Finger: "We're all liars here."
…
Ser Allistor Thorne: "You always know when a man is telling a lie. How did you acquire this magical power."
Maester Aemon: "I grew up in Kings Landing." LOL

I saw an interview with George somewhere where he said he is inspired a lot by Scottish history and culture, so it makes sense.
Geez no wonder he kinda retired lol

I love how Tywin can just walk in and take full control. He just exudes authority and power.

"I don't believe that a child is responsible for the sins of his father- or his grandfather. An awful way to die..."
One of cersei's defining characteristics is that she truly does love her children. Probably only her children. she would never have done anything to hurt Joffrey.
Josh York
Cersei's concept and understanding of Love is Fucked up so saying she loves him , she loves Jaime most of all and she rejected his ass after losing a hand which he lost trying to get back to her and because in her Savage words You took too long loOl!
Age Of The Witch I didn't say she loves Jamie I said she loves her kids. It's literally been setup you throughout the entire show as her one redeeming quality to make her not a complete monster. That's clear to everyone around her.
Cersei only loves her children because of the power they provide to her.
Tywin is my favorite always, he's stern, ruthless and wise commander.
Maybe Cersei knew it was weird because of the setting (son’s funeral) but she actually wanted/needed to have sex
Daenerys bringing the psyops!! Masters of Meereen looking super nervous. Love it
Oh wow, I think It's the first time I see a reactor comin back on Bran's visions like this. That was super interesting!

From an article in The Guardian:
"In the episode Breaker of Chains, the show's linguist David Peterson created the ultimate in-joke with series creator Dan Weiss, by translating Monty Python quotes into Low Valyrian, a language used by a clan on the show. More specifically, he took the insults hurled by a French soldier in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, such as "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries."
"That was [series creator] Dan Weiss's idea and it was so hilarious that I had to do it," said Peterson in an interview on the production blog for the show. Close… But no, he's actually starting out with, 'Your mother is a hamster.'"
victorsixtythree
Apparently a common enough joke in Westros .
I didn't know that! I use that insult ALL the time in real life, now I can't learn it in Low Valeryian.
Lesson learned: Do not taunt Daenerys a second time. She will not go away.
Farting in her general direction is probably unwise as well (especially if the dragons are around).
@@0okamino Her dragons will "fart" back in your general direction :D
*There's another Monty Python reference that even comes around twice when Shireen teaches Davos to read -- he pronounces "knight" kn-ig-ht/kinniget" just like the French taunter.*
I didn't and still don't see it as a rape scene. This justice warriors out there making turning everything or anything into a negative.
Fernando Well I mean I can easily see the confusion, it definitely looked like one to me at first. I only point that it wasn’t so it’s not confusing the next time the two of them are onscreen together.
Bran’s flashbacks are awesome and they hold a lot of key info! Season 4 is amazing and I love watching it again with you guys! Great vid as always!
Tywin wasted NO time in digging his claws into Tommen lol
rayraygunner He's all about business
Love that tommens actor went from being murdered by karstark to being a king.
Love how passionate you two have become for this show! Makes these reactions bingeworthy!!
Age of the Witch …. BEAUTIFUL homage to our fun reaction channel family … LOL!!! The flag is Awesome and the Raven is Incredible. Simply Lovely!!! Thank you for sharing. …. PEACE from "A Grandmother" of House Burns.

Ohh thank you so much my pleasure you are family #SavaForLife
NEMEBATAS !!!
Dany is a fookin thug.
# DovaogēdysNaejotmemēbātās!
Qarymee Presents • actually, it’s “Nābēmātās!” Although they used “Naejot” again, it means “forward”. Memēbātās means “march”. Nābēmātās means "Fire (unfasten)!"
“Naejot memēbātās” vs “Naejot! Nābēmātās!”

I didn’t know any of this till I looked it up BEFORE I attempted to correct you.
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Thanks @Çeʓaré ... Wish there was a Dothraki & Valyrian class I could attend.
The scene of the collars being flung into the city always gives me goose bumps. Love it
I’m so thankful for y’all!! Every morning that I wake up and see a new GoT post, it’s how I get myself up for the day! You guys motivate me to get out of bed (before my kids and job require that I do 😂). Proud to be a Patreon member for y’all! My one and only
Love the fact that Nikki always cares about the animals... me too gurl, me too
4:20 it was the way it just happened out of nowhere that was shocking aswell as the horrible death. One moment he was tormenting Tyrion, the next he was dead 💀
Lol, I remember when Joffrey died, I felt no sadness at all. Loved having him finally gone.
It was totally consensual in the books. So was Daenerys and Drogo's first time.
in the books she is 13 when this happens, there cannot be any fucking consent in that and there wasn't.
@@LordofFullmetal Many women were married by the age of 14 or 16 in ancient times. Educate yourself before commenting like an idiot with your own beliefs. This is what's wrong with society today, unknowledgable about the past so you make shit up as you go based on fictional shows or movies. We have the internet, use it.

Hey you two another great reaction 😁 I hope that no one skipped passed the discussion at the beginning, that's the best part of the reactions is hearing the discussion afterwards 😁 I cant for the next one you two!
Steven in the next episode can u say "you no nothing jon snow" in your accent lmfao
Fantastic reactions. Also love the house name and sigil that American Mum created. :)
Yeah... everytime there is a horse, assume its gonna die lol.
Not sure if Tywin or cersei would've let Sansa get away....so that's something to think about.
I agree with you guys. Was happy to see Joffrey go, but Jack Gleeson’s performance was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another great reaction! Keep it up guys! This is my morning ritual. The moment I wake up, I reach for my phone and it's go time. Usually watching you two before I even get my eye boogers out lol
I always look forward to seeing that bell icon pop up and knowing it's you guys (usually 11am over here in Scotland) and it makes my lunchtime more fun 💙 and Age of the Witch is such a great moderator for you guys - I like reading the comments on your reactions afterwards and she's always on the ball and doesn't take no shit haha. All your moderators do a fantastic job so mad props to them! Also the discussion at the beginning of this was so great to watch too!
This drag queen is enjoying your reactions on this journey when she's not performing on-stage! #StikkerAndProud

Yaaas queeny 🤚🤚🤓😘
I was binge watching your GoT videos, and I got to this one and pressed next. I was surprised that I was sent to the next episode's reaction. I was so upset, and now I've got to wait as though I'm waiting for the next episode of GoT
"She wants them to enslave their own masters..." I did burst out in laughter.
I love how they’re feeling sympathy for Cersei. She definitely deserves some compassion.
Joffrey, an iconic villain that will stay in peoples minds for decades.
You left out Daario's sexy wink. Lol. Probably my favorite Daario scene.
Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating in the comments

@@TheMaskedChef7 thank youuuuuu so much 😍😍😍
24:41 The first time I watched this I cheered out loud, in no small part to the sound design.
you guys are just so natural i love it
20:45 steven really wants to know that secret
Its funny because dany is so badass, serious most of the time and very powerful in her demeanor. Then u look at Emilia Clarke and she’s the biggest goofball in existence 😂. She does an amazing job in this role.
The Jaime/Cersei rape scene was one of the biggest mis-steps in the show. It wasn't a rape in the books, and the showrunners have stated that it wasn't intended to be construed as a rape, but what we saw on screen was a rape.
What you saw on screen was rape. I just saw 2 emotionally confused people being confuse.
@@thomaschristopherwhite9043 You don't what what "Stop" means, huh?
Misastar Chan
I actually do.
Dolorous Vin
I believe for a change George wanted to portray Cersei in a better light than Jaime , which makes sense her son just died only a real monster would willingly go threw with that while her son's body rests a grip away from her .
23:53 LMAO you're understanding what happens with horses in Game of Thrones
Before I started watching their reactions I didn't realize how many horses got massacred in the show.
Steven - We now have to replace our Turd 😂
