They are put together because their personalities play off each other so well.
It's so good watching these two having such a great time together, especially Gwendoline's full belly laughs. Brienne was always overly serious not allowing herself to enjoy anything. Brienne changed Jaime into a better man with honor and responsibilitywhile those two were together.
I feel these two should have a partner cop movie together, they really have the chemistry for it.
