This really helps me think differently about those "to do's" that are actually projects! Those tasks that I can't get started on, if I look at them as projects it suddenly makes it seem more doable. Looking forward to reading the book and learning more from you!!
    Love your videos as always!

I learned about this method when I was going to a psychological clinic a few days in the week and I knew it was something I could use to keep track of things. This video made it visual for me, which makes me understand it a lot better. When you show your new weekly spread it sparked some new ideas, inspiration and motivation on how to use it for myself and which will also help me section projects into the smallest steps possible (as I still have some difficulties tackling larger projects). Absolutely love it! Thanks.

You should totally post a video "tour" of your workspace! And if you're using all the GTD physical setup stuff like an in-tray, what you use and how you use it :) I love everything you do!

This video is so brilliant. Thank you!! I have read GTD a number of years ago. I wasn't aware that David had updated it recently. Anyway your clarity of thinking about the GTD method combined with working using a Bullet Journal is really inspiring. I now need to look at GTD again. Thanks so much!!

I absolutely love GTD and have implemented it for years. It fell by the wayside when I stopped using Outlook for my personal email (I still use it at work) so I was wanting to incorporate it into my bullet journalling which I have only recently started. It's so helpful to see this video as a newbie to bullet journalling - thanks for sharing!

Thanks for doing this. It's funny I just read GTD last month and I've been using the Bullet Journal system now since September of last year. The two systems are at odds with each other a bit, but I knew there must be a way to reconcile the differences within the Bullet Journal environment. Having a dedicated GTD notebook makes a lot of sense. Thanks for showing how you do it.

I was going through youtube videos looking for the way people organize their bullet journal and I absolutely love your spreads. Very elegant. I like that you've used a light blue pen to mark out borders and keep things in order and then used a black pen for listing items. I think I'm going to adopt this method! I also loved the bonus book review. I am such a word nerd and go through books very quickly, so I am always looking for a new one to read. (Im stuck on this really boring one about Roberts Rules of Order right now and will only recommend it if you are having trouble sleeping!) So I just downloaded the updated version of GTD from audible and can't wait to hear it! Thanks very much! Wonderful post!

I'm so happy you posted this! A few weeks before I heard you mention the book, I just had an inspiration and bought two self-help books in English (GTD and the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg) and now I'm done with GTD and half way through the other one. GTD did seem quite complicated as some of the terms he used I wasn't able to translate to my language. Now I'll definitely reread at least some parts and make notes using this video!

Hey Kara, I live in India and I seriously love your videos, particularly the Monday tips. I was already trying to use the GTD with the Bullet journal. What I did is that I used the older box bullet for projects and then used the dot bullet for tasks. Projects in progress have the have a half slash in the box, ongoing projects have a cross and finished ones are colored in. So I didn't have to do any changes to my basic bujo pages. I also used the collections to brain dump, I was struggling with the themes and yours are ideal. Thanks.

I am definitely going to get that book! I already do most of what you covered, but I haven't been breaking down the smaller projects into tasks like I know I should. For instance, I will write down to film a video today on a specific topic for my channel. I will then write to upload and share it. As you know, a lot of tasks are required to get those things done. Going forward, I am going to create recurring task lists for such projects. This will also help me realize how long it takes to do them so I can schedule them more realistically. Thanks for another awesome video. You rock!

Excellent Video - loved it :-) I have been a great fan of David Allen and GTD since his first book came out ... I have used his system ever since ....one of the best reminders for me and what I ask others is "Is that actionable?" Really helps understand why so many things don't actually get done, because the steps aren't there .... Love it :-)

Couldn't help subscribing to your channel after watching your first bujo video :) I'm 'stealing' your horizon and will be implementing it in my bujo. It's far too cluttery right now.
Best explanation on how to use GTD in a bujo I've found. I have been trying to get it to work in my own bujo for months but couldn't get it quite right so I dropped it. After this video I'll be starting it again and will get myself a nice notebook for just being a GTD bucket list as you described it.

I did have same problem, till I get advise, do three think a day and if you have more time, do next and next. But only three are very important, so no sweat if you do only three, but great if you do more. I did not believe how much more I do without long list. You know what you do not want to do, but must so do it first, than something which need be done, and last something you will enjoy to do. It work, take little time to get your mind set in "program" but it work great.

We're moving on Friday + Saturday so when you talk about 'projects' vs. the tasks to complete those projects were eye-opening... ie. Packing... hello! lol... Well, the packing project is sorting, organizing, deciding what to keep and what to get rid of, telling the kids for the 876th time to pack their own stuff, making sure hubby knows what he's supposed to be doing without getting into "trouble" (he lovingly 'helped' me by packing my shoes... oye....) which are all 'tasks'. Sorry for rambling - this video came at the perfect time.

    I love your videos!
I was wondering - why do you have separate notebooks (eg Persoal bujo, Blog+Biz bujo, GTD) for everything rather than putting it all into one notebook? You clearly have a very organised system and love what you do so I'm curious to know why having separate notebooks is your process of choice? I'm trying to consolidate all my systems as much as possible (because I get distracted and confused across them) but yours must work well for you :)

    • @Bohoberryshop
      @Bohoberryshop  8 років тому

+Nadee Guy The main reason is that if I put everything into one notebook, I would go through a notebook every month. I like keeping "Work" & "Personal" separate as well. There is some overlap at times, but I like the compartmentalization :)

I have spent the last couple of days watching bullet journal videos on youtube. Yours are by far the best I've found so far, and I can't thank you enough for having lovely hands and nails. I don't think some people realize how distracting unkempt hands can be in these types of videos.

Unfortunately we don't have Filofax, Bullet Journal or Leuchtturm 1917 in Brazil :(
    You have cool stuff there.

Could a 6th grader read GTD?

It would honestly kind of bore a 6th grader, but the language is (for the most part) relatively easy to grasp.

The way you are structuring and organising your GTD System isn't quite correct.
