Watching the FrankenLog Marathon tonight. :) The concept keeps getting better! I really like this idea because I would only need three contexts, so I would only need one spread. Sweet.

I'd love to see pics once you've got something working. 👍

One context I like to have is "waiting room" where you have short little things that can be done while waiting (picking up kids, Dr. appt, oil change, etc). Phone calls work well there, as well as texting about things, or just like looking up an address to make an appointment, or cleaning up emails, etc. Some folks have a lot of those snippets of time.

I love GTD and you've blown my mind! I am minimalist as well but I have three highlighters that helps me quickly categorize the importance of a task listed: 1. Pink (a color I don't like) for tasks, that must be completed today, 2. Blue for tasks I'd like to get done today but they're not sensitive so if they're done tomorrow, it won't hurt, and 3. Yellow for tasks do any time or a note where I use Ryder Caroll's "--". I sincerely appreciate you posting these videos and sharing great ideas and insight.

Oh YAY, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING this whole Frankenlog/lite thing-it is just what I was looking for!! I don’t do “contexts” in the pure GTD sense of the word, but I do have 4 different self employment jobs, a house that needs serious help, and a dreadful time keeping track of silly little autopay bills that always seem to be coming out of the one account that is temporarily empty! And yes, I AM A CRAZY HIPPY 🌈. I call the “mind sweep/brain dump thing “catching the stardust whirlwind” cos I have all these brilliant glittering ideas swirling around in my head all day and they need to be on paper and quit distracting me! Plus- I COLOR CODE ALL 7 LISTS and I have a different color system for each season (summer brights, autumn the most beautiful vintage inks, icy blues and grays for winter, pastel rainbow for spring). I firmly believe planning is much happier if you do it in rainbows 😁.

Hey now, settle down over there with all that hippy color!

That's BRILLIANT! I've only just started, but love the minimalist approach. I don't want pretty (well, I do, but if you got time to prettify it, you kinda don't need a BuJo), I want functional. Can't wait to try this out. Biggest challenge is going to be able to determine different context. I work from home as a writer, so I'm always at the same place :D

For what's its worth, my contexts are mostly not location based. I also didn't have enough locations for that to make sense.

Thanks for sharing Brian! I’m due to set up my new bujo for an August start and I’m so glad I found the Frankenlog/Frankenlite systems in time. (I think the way you’ve folded the page in half without cutting is called a faux Dutch door by the way.)

Love the Franken Lite GTD Method, been looking for a way t get Contexts back into my BuJo.
Question: Wouldn't it be easier to remember if you just used the first letter of the context, W for Work, and in the column number the tasks from 1 through n and then in the monthly view refer to Work task 7 as W7, instead of G ? Personally I can write that out just as quickly and remember the context first letter better.
Thanks for this post, really gonna put it into my BuJo practice starting today.

Do you also do a weekly log/rolling weekly next to that, or only do daily logs? I wonder, because I use the frankenlite now and I go straight into dailies and it's perfect. But I know some people like to re-write, I'm unsure if that would be helpful to maybe have a more focused, reduced view for the week. Might test it out.

    • @BrianHazardVideos

Good question. I don't use a weekly log myself. I do all of my weekly planning in my dailies (usually Sunday) and then I schedule the tasks on my Frankenlog, then I put any appointments on my Google Calendar.

@@BrianHazardVideos Thank you for your reply! But I don't quite understand why you write it in daily log first, then add it to frankenlog. Do you mean you have a separate rolling task list from which you then add tasks to your frankenlog?
For me, I lack a good week overview because I only make a daily log for the next day, not a whole week. How do you know how much page space to leave out for a week's worth of dailies every Sunday?

Thanks for this video! This is the first time I've seen a Frankenlog as I'm not super familiar with minimalist bullet journaling so that was really interesting. Not quite my bag overall I think BUT I have to say I love your tracker system for daily habits. Might have to incorporate that into my own system. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos.

Hey there. I uploaded a newer video this past weekend which might be more informative. I had to make some pretty substantial changes to the setup in this video.

I use an A6, The linear month can fit if you turn it sideways. (I have 16 columns per page on my BuJo so its 32lines when sideways, enough for 31 days in a line) So you span two pages. the left side (when sideways) I put the days as is normal for BuJo and F-lite. the Right side is for my list of todo's and such.

Instead of the letter variations you could also use different colors ;)
