    I grow all 4 this year and here is the verdict. Purple, just the skin was purple. The flesh was yellow, orange. It was not bad but lacked that fresh carrot flavour.
    Yellow, good but a little woody.
    White. Woody and bland. Not a nice carrot at all.
    Orange. What can I say ,there is a reason orange is the chosen one. Full of flavour , crisp but not woody.
    They were all grown in the same raised bed and received identical water and attention.

      Thanks for this report, Chris! It's rare to get a firsthand side-by-side analysis. I've had some really nice purples (yellow inside) - sweeter than the orange, I've found. But you're right -- it's hard to beat the oranges on consistency.

    I have some multicolored carrots growing right now in a raised bed. If they turn out I'll try that recipe. Really enjoy your videos.

    I heard the orange carrots were a patriotic gesture. Orange being the national colour or something along those lines.

    • @TrueFoodTV
      @TrueFoodTV  8 років тому +2

      +Huyen Huyen Pretty much like an orange carrot. Some have slight differences -- the purple carrots I can buy here are often a little firmer to the bite and a touch sweeter than the typical orange.

    I assume you wanted to refer to the Netherlands, not Holland. North and South Holland are just two of the twelve provinces of the Netherlands. Please learn the difference. America is also bigger than the U.S.A. Similar distinction levels can be made there. Like the rest of your videos though. Very informative and good to learn about food.

    No ways Garam Masala Carrot 😐 am an Indian, Garam Masala No Way.
    Or may be our Indian Carrots dont get along with Savory as compared to Sweets. Google " Gajar Ka Halwa" best ever and simplest sweet of India.
