    This message is spot on. I've gone heavy on legumes and cruciferous vegetables - in soups and otherwise - and reduced body weight by 5% in the last 8 weeks. Edit: lab results from this morning show a decrease in cholesterol (-38 mg/dL) and a decrease in triglycerides (-190 mg/dL) from the previous reading 90 days prior.

    Love this channel. Always have. I've been eating beans since I was a child (58 now). Kidney beans are a personal favorite. Black, Navy, Great Northern, Lentils....They're all Great!
    When you've been eating beans as long as I have gas is no longer a problem. Plus I've never had any digestive problems. Who knew? Now I do. Thanks Beans! and Thank You for the wonderful videos. They are always a pleasure to watch.

    Bean, beans, the magical fruit. The more you eat, the more you ****! Beans, beans, good for the heart, the more you eat, the more you ****! Yep, I'm in my 50s and I went right back to schoolyard humor. My wife and I are on a black bean kick right now, they are our current favorite. Beans are also filling and help curb hunger. We are trying to cut down on processed foods and eat healthier. My first attempt at rehydrating beans was less than successful. I'm going to try the "My miracle meal" recipe. Thanks for the information!

    Pretty much what vegans like myself been munching on forever now. Longest living and healthiest populations eat a lot of legumes, including soy. Soy is a very versatile bean, used for various products(tofu, etc)...a good option for those who don't want other ''regular'' beans. Also, the gas goes away almost completely after some time, can be months...the gas is generally a sign of dysbiosis in the gut, a common thing.

    I love that they all have such different tastes and uses but with the same benefits, that's why I bought for my mom 8 big 4kg capacity jars for beans, so now we have red, black, white, kalima and cubás beans, and lentils, chickpeas and peas in them! You never get tired with that diversity.

    Beans are amazing, how about adding some Baru nuts? 27g of protein plus 20g of fiber. It’s more expensive but eating 30g per day as recommended by lancet nutritional recommendations. If bought in bulk makes them a good highly nutritious addition to everyone’s diet.

      @user-gm7dz4ut8i 2 місяці тому

      Also, if you cook the beans in a pressure cooker or instapot, you should let the water boil and then skim the scum/white foam off it - those are the lectins that cause flatulence and also joint pains, and removing them makes the dish much healthier imo

    Please🌸🌺🌸I just watched your olive oil video. Amazing so much information but some of us don’t buy a $20 bottle of wine. We buy “Two Buck Chuck” from Trader Joe’s. Please what Olive Oil is the best in California. And it’s not always the price it is the convenience of being able to walk into a store, then to have to order it online.Please and Thank you.

    Plant haters love to point to that photo of Copacabana in the 70's, but they never mention that brazilians have been eating rice and beans as a staple for centuries (we don't even know when that started). We were a lot healthier when we were eating a lot more rice and beans. Nowadays it's all about keto and low-carb and no one seems to ever lose that extra weight

    Beans are great for fiber and some vitamins, but they have a shit DIAAS score so calling them "high protein" is pretty misleading if people are under the impression beans are some sort of viable replacement for animal protein. Also, things are far from settled on the "anti nutrient" front, and beans have them in spades. They're a nice, cheap add on though.

    I find them hard to digest. When I put legumes in my food it takes a long time to digest meals and I get acid reflux and the food sits in my stomach for hours. As a gym goer, this is unacceptable lol

      Acid reflux is a sign of other issues, specifically in the gut. Would also explain the digestibility factor in your case.

    • @fullup91
      @fullup91 2 місяці тому

      @Kristers_K I think I digest them fine. It just seems to take much longer which is inconvenient for gym, sleeping or being active after eating. I tend to eat 50/50 rice and sweet potato for carbs now, which allows me to go gym as fast as 1.5 hours after meal. I love lentil curry, or rice and peas (like black beans) but it just takes me much longer to digest these. Humus seems fine. Maybe because it's ground into a paste?

    • @Kristers_K
      @Kristers_K 2 місяці тому

    Really a huge fan of yours for years now. Peace to you and your husband and children. But...we have to stop giving Miracles to Magic. God's Miracles are not likened to Magic. For people of faith it can be hard to harvest information from those who put that tag on their info. In not wanting that to be the terms of the agreement for the info. But totally loving the direction of this (aside from Magic) with Beans and Mediterranean Dietary practices.

      Thank you so much for your support! The beauty of language is that it can be used both literally and figuratively. I think as people of faith -- yes, I consider myself one -- we should not censor the figurative use of language. When I say "magic," it is in no way intended to take away from the divine miracle of life. It is meant to evoke the sense of awe that I feel.
