      The song "No Signal" by Chon, it's amazing. The song has a huge amount of groove and is something like 3 bars of 9/16 and 1 5/16 to make 2 bars of 4/4.

      Hey ! I just noticed that from 1:16 to 1:46 in the song Motormouth from periphery there is a similar pattern where the snare keeps on the 2nd and 4th(for the 1st part... after i don't really understand) while the cymbal follow the voice and the guitar ! What do you think about it ? ;)

    You dedicate your channel to teaching but you're a fantastic drummer yourself. Especially considering the kind of stuff you break down. Keep at it!

      I only do custom videos for my patrons, it's a reward for their support. But even now I can't take any more requests as I'm revamping my patreon model in the following weeks and staying on top of unfinished requests (It takes me 2 weeks fastest to do each of these requests as it really is a lot of work). Stay tuned to my channel to find out how you can get custom videos, will release a video about that in 2 weeks time :) Thanks for checking out my channel Ledgy!

    Hey great video! I've always wondered though. Is there some trick to this complex groove? like some sort of polyrhythm to follow? or is it just random rhythms fit into a 4 bar phrase?

    • @ArtOfDrummingHQ
      @ArtOfDrummingHQ  6 років тому +1

      Hey that's the unique thing about this concept, it's not based off a poly-rhythm. It's based off a series of oddly grouped accents and 16th notes that constantly go over the beat/bar line finally resolving every 4 bars.
      Although if you look at the grouping of the riff in the analysis section of this video, you can see there are two sets of 10 16th notes, so perhaps the closest you'd get to a short polyrhythm in this section, like a 5 against 4, 10x2(or 5x4) notes over the 4/4. Thanks for your great question Brian!
