I know, right? The other day I was just watching his drum shed video with Eric Moore and I thought to myself "this guy deserves way more subs than he has." It's a shame that he is out-subbed by that Luke Holland hack.
***** Honestly Luke's really good too, people like CooperDrummer and meytal (no offense to them), are much less talented but just have subs because they play either pop music or have boobs :P Metal, sadly just isn't as popular, it's just par for the course.
Kaleteir1 Fair point. Personally I just don't like any of those three. I love Troy, I love Stan Bicknell, I think Cobus is alright, but that's about it
***** I just love that Troy goes into the education behind and truly is a master of his craft. Plus I think his skills are far more polished than everyone else's. I respect his song choices and isn't just trying to get views and money. He does it because it's his passion and his life, that's why he has my sub and support!
I've played drums on and off since I was twelve.(I'm 26 now). About three years ago, you inspired me to get serious about it, and now my playing has become so much better than I ever could have imagined. Thank you.
Drummers like this who are inspired by the drummers who inspire me inspires me to drum more. If that makes sense, basically what I'm trying to say is that I've been learning this song for a long time now and this video has helped me. Thank you, sir. You're soon to be a legend. Keep it up!
Who is watching this in quarantine 2020? Who used to watch Troy before Intervals scooped him? Anybody? Anybody else walk into an Intervals show in their local venue and saw Troy behind the kit and think "huh, thats that guy, man the metalcore world is incredible"
Not only is this an example of your exceptional drumming (and matts drumming and writing), it is a perfect example of songs being techy but still groovy. So great.
Mate just to let you know: I watched your channel for the first time a few moths ago (nothing medley really got me) and wrote in a comment that you inspired me to pick up the sticks again after not having played for 5 years and now I got a new rehearsal room with a set and try to keep up practicing as often as I can. So good to be back at the set, feels like home. Seriously: thank you a lot for the inspiration and keep it up.
Blows Luke Holland's cover out of the water. In fact, this is for sure one of the most solid drum covers of any genre on UA-cam. I applaud and do not understand how I haven't heard of you as a drummer before.
Man, you are too awesome. Every time I watch this video I get more amazed. You've nailed this cover. I hope one day I reach your level of drumming. Take care.
Troy, you seriously have some insane skill. Seeing how your left foot just kinda goes on auto pilot shows how carefree you are while playing this. So awesome! Like second nature to you! Love your stuff, dude!
Such a Sophisticated sound! I was in Drumtek looking for a new kit, just trying everything but nothing grabbed my fancy. Then I hit one Tom a reference and it vibrated my soul.
I've been watching your covers since you started Troy, and I maintain the opionion of that you are a fucking good drummer. This one is one of the best I reckon
Thank you for covering this song!! You killed it man! Best song on this album by far! I dont think anyone but Matt Halpern himself could play it any better!
You have, in my opinion, the perfect drum tone. Would you consider doing a drum tuning video? I know that the subject has been touched on by a thousand drummers, but I would love to hear/read about your specific approach.
He just goes with the feel of the song with the ghost notes, filling in patterns that feel good with his right and left hand. It's really just what feels good for him in a song. I do the same.
Bad ass song choice, you really hit the nail on the head with this one! I originally came on here because i thought u did a cover of Periphery's "Light"!!!
I'm so late to this amazing song by periphery but dude you were power grooving so hard it was amazing! as a drummer ii Love to watch drummers drum so passionately
The most underrated drummer on UA-cam.
I know, right? The other day I was just watching his drum shed video with Eric Moore and I thought to myself "this guy deserves way more subs than he has." It's a shame that he is out-subbed by that Luke Holland hack.

rocknroll21 I couldn't have said it any better myself.
I never intentionally play ghost notes, they always form within the groove. They generally fill in the right hand
I've played drums on and off since I was twelve.(I'm 26 now). About three years ago, you inspired me to get serious about it, and now my playing has become so much better than I ever could have imagined. Thank you.
This came up on 'Watch it again' on my homepage. Fuck yeah youtube, I'll watch it again.
after months of practising i can say that i have mastered the section from 3:12 to 3:28
This is, by far, my favorite of all your cymbal setups.
luxypenguin this with the 15" artisan hats
luxypenguin Same here, I still use this as the basis for my prog setup today. So intuitive!
+Nick Fudge He's using 15" Artisan Hats in this video :P
RIGHT?? I tried it myself, and I LOVE where the stack is,
He needs some extra dry Meinl's man
I love the double bass parts you added from 1:58-2:13
It makes me regret I'm not a drummer.
t krk as a drummer, this makes me want to give up.
I feared those were in the original and thought "Oh fuck, there goes my chance to learn this song"
The years may pass but I somehow always end up watching this
Camila Vedder same
2020 and I still come back to this

Holy shit with those 16th note triplets in the kick, dude. Bravo! Love this tune.
Man... Best drum covers on the internet. Respect and good wishes from Colombia.
Not only is this an awesome cover, but it gives me a new appreciation for the song itself!
Who is watching this in quarantine 2020? Who used to watch Troy before Intervals scooped him? Anybody? Anybody else walk into an Intervals show in their local venue and saw Troy behind the kit and think "huh, thats that guy, man the metalcore world is incredible"
Actually your left foot impresses me the most ...
Cle Mensch I saw this again... and I'm watching him stomp the hi hat heel at 8th notes most of the time!
Definitely both! Loved his playing growing up. I would love to play something off in session!
Not only is this an example of your exceptional drumming (and matts drumming and writing), it is a perfect example of songs being techy but still groovy. So great.
Troy.. Thank you. One of my favourite bands with one of their best new songs, you just blew me away!! Incredible.
jesus look at those fingers just beastin the ghost notes on the snare! such good control bro super well done
You and Alex Rudinger are my fav youtube guys, you are light years above the rest. Incredible discipline, quality and inspiration.
Mate just to let you know: I watched your channel for the first time a few moths ago (nothing medley really got me) and wrote in a comment that you inspired me to pick up the sticks again after not having played for 5 years and now I got a new rehearsal room with a set and try to keep up practicing as often as I can. Your technical ability and groove is a cut above the rest, man. Always so inspiring!
troy, you are absolutely incredible and inspire me to continue playing drums in hopes of being this skilled one day.
Troy have you been playing for over a decade ? Phenomenal job man. A true master at his work.
Sibelius mate. Everything I use is at my gear page on my wrightdrums website
Blows Luke Holland's cover out of the water. In fact, this is for sure one of the most solid drum covers of any genre on UA-cam. I applaud and do not understand how I haven't heard of you as a drummer before.
Dude, I seriously think this is the best cover i've seen on UA-cam. Fantastic job, man!
Thanks mate. I added the sextuplet kicks in. The song is the original song from the album as well
Probably the best drum cover I've ever seen of anything - ever
I love how continually taps the hi hat with his left foot, i don't know why, it just shows how much he is grooving with this.
Absolutely sick, Troy! You have such finesse. It's not boring to watch either since you play with so much energy.
Seriously: You are one of the best drummers I´ve ever seen and have listened to. Your timing skills are intimidating! :D
This is friggin' godly. Way to go on doing this with so much energy and accuracy.
Probably my favorite cover you have done so far, great job!!
One of the best Troy's covers
Humans who haven’t experienced the zone that Troy is in when playing this have never experienced why so many strive to get there
such an inspirational music video to watch. as a budding musician, skills like this is what drives me to become a better drummer. thanks mate!
That's some good sounding cymbals, man.
It's also at my facebook video page. Link in description
Such a Sophisticated sound!
I was in Drumtek looking for a new kit, just trying everything but nothing grabbed my fancy. Then I hit one Tom a reference and it vibrated my soul.
This song has a very nice overall groove. And some pretty awesome singlepedal bass drum work there.
Holy crap, you're insanely good. Your limb individuality is amazing. I'm actually in awe, good job.
Really great sound Troy, I love that track and it was great to see how it's played, great job!
Love this, Like your style very intense and precise. Would love to see you cover some structures???
THIS is what youtube is for! If only all channels had this level of production and talent. Good job man, always keeping tabs on your vids!
One of the greatest drummer in the world. Really man, you're awesome!
That was absolutely amazing I want all of those cymbals
I've got to say, watching your videos is truly inspiring!
Dude I LOVE that 6th note triplet run on the kicks before the breakdown! So sick🙌
That face you make at 3:25 shows that you're really feeling the music. I love seeing that!
Massive fan of yours from over in sunny ol' London. Sick cover as usual of an incredible band. Keep it up man! Look forward to the next one.
AWESOME, and I loved those additional notes.
Unreal to hear mate. Thanks a lot!
Simply flawless, and your kit sounds incredible!
I've been watching your covers since you started Troy, and I maintain the opionion of that you are a fucking good drummer. This one is one of the best I reckon
also lol i love how pumped up you're getting right before you come in at 3:28. i do the same thing when i play lol
I generally play 8ths on my left foot. It's completely irrelevant of the time signature. It feels more comfortable depending on the speed of the song
You're the kind of guy that really is inspiring me to continue playing drums!
I love the way you played the breakdown part, you made it even heavier!
Who on earth would dislike this video?? Absolutely incredible cover
Please make this video available in the US. I love your covers and lessons.
This has to be the best drum cover I have ever seen 0_0
Nice work dude!! keep it up!
sooooo talented and awesome work beyond it... RESPECT.
such power, accuracy and independence
you're the best, mate
WOW this kit sounds amazing.
I love your playing style and your energy it's amazing dude! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for covering this song!! You killed it man! Best song on this album by far!
I dont think anyone but Matt Halpern himself could play it any better!
I cant believe i'm only seeing this now, I love this song. Great cover bro! :D
You have, in my opinion, the perfect drum tone. Would you consider doing a drum tuning video? I know that the subject has been touched on by a thousand drummers, but I would love to hear/read about your specific approach.
This has about 1/1000000000 of as many views as it should have. Spot on man. Ya did Halpern proud.
I want your kit. And I want a studio like this. Goddamn, I want to be you. Great cover man!
Once again flawless execution
Bro so awesome and amazing the control so inspiring.
I love your cymbals set up. Great!!
troy, amazing cover, like always! you think you could do a tuning video? i love the sound of your drums
Troy, another absolute beauty. Please give us more, without Matt giving us decent playthrough vids this is by far the next best thing!
Perephery.
Love that shit.
Those double bass parts Tony added spice up the original version really nicely!
You're into some of the same unmatchable stuff I love! Foo Fighters, Incubus, Blink-182, Karnivool and Periphery! Plus, you're really skilled.
He just goes with the feel of the song with the ghost notes, filling in patterns that feel good with his right and left hand. It's really just what feels good for him in a song. I do the same.
Mind.... blown.... That is amazing.
Man Holland is an unreal drummer. The fact that he does some tricks just ads to his showman ship... The guy's still a teenager don't forget!
Those legacy rides sound HUGE!!! awesome cover bro
Bad ass song choice, you really hit the nail on the head with this one! I originally came on here because i thought u did a cover of Periphery's "Light"!!!
Damn Troy, you did it again. Awesome, as usual on you
You killed it bro, best cover ive seen in a while
never listened to Periphery until this cover... this shit is awesome and so the cover, nicely done Troy!
dude the sound of your kit amazes me can you give tips on the toms in particular
Awesome! Would love a little more bottom in that snare though. A little boost at 200Hz would be nice! Again really well played!
I will never get tired of that first riff
all those crashes sound sooo amazing
Jeez... Troy can cover any damn song he pleases! Astonishing...
beneath ray luzier you're definitly the coolest, smoothed playing drummer I've seen.
Greetings from Germany
I'm so late to this amazing song by periphery but dude you were power grooving so hard it was amazing! as a drummer ii Love to watch drummers drum so passionately
I have so much fkn respect for you man! Epic song and epic cover! Keep it up :D
What a joy to watch. Thanks!
God, this is so damn well played!!
That was fucking brilliant. If this guy was in a reasonably well known band he'd be lauded as one of the best in the world.
This absolutely amazing.
