tldr, i have some complaints mainly about the movement and the knife but i think overall really solid and maybe with some more time in the game they wont be as big of an issiue as they seem, who knows just my initial thoughts, cant wait to play the full thing
I swapped to 2005 controls (c-1 i think) and turned off auto run toggle. Feels a lot more like the classic and I primarily just turn around by hitting down and X on my controller to flip around like the old days. Although when holding down run if you hold the stick back I can still just start running south without the camera flipping. Feels similar to the old tank controls with minor improvements. The knife however...im so used to it having a wide swing from the old game. I went for it a few times to stagger enemies and it just wasnt the right call
@@MilkshakeGuruTTV You can have it do the slash if you press the attack button without aiming, but it seems like it doesn’t always work stun the enemies, even if you hit them in the face
@@MilkshakeGuruTTV IDK if I'm a fan of the of the knife breaking mechanic. I broke it in my first demo attempt. I just like to knife things, what can I say.
I like how he literally spent years complaining about how people will play the original for 2 seconds and say the controls suck when he tried the remake out FOR 2 SECONDS before saying how the controls suck and how they will hinder the entire game. Actual hypocrite moment.
Well it has similar movement to RE2R and on Keyboard in particular, it does have problems. You can genuinely get stuck moving in a direction you are no longer pressing. Learning to turn a corner probably shouldn't have a learning curve and yes, that applies to OG as well. Difference is, OG came out in 2005.
some of the complaints are definitely valid and I respect the honesty... and i'm sure he'll enjoy the full game to a certain degree, but damn so many complaints. most of the complaints could be fixed by just sticking to the original lol.
honestly true. I don't want the same RE4 game. I love the original, but I don't want a clone. People just need to enjoy things and not look for nitpicks to bother themselves with. I understand what he's saying. but god is it way too picky.
I think the devs nailed the remake, I, in my heart, really wished for REmake4 to be like this I like the slowness, I like the weight, I like the added interactions (previously QTE) like parry and evade Were it to cater to the OG RE4 engine it would be overshadowed and so many will despise it, just like you said, it's a crappy clone
@@zazo3zoz lmao....so u want people to just spend 60 bucks on a game and just be ok with it not being that good .... consume product don't ask questions people like u is why devs can be lazy
I think the movement is deliberately designed to feel a certain way in order to create a blend of the modern controls of RE2 remake and the tank controls of OG RE4. I love how weighty and punchy the combat feels, especially after getting acclimated to the changes.
RE4 original was good for fighting, re2 original and re2 remake were both a survival game, where you had to economize your munition, avoid zombies as much as possible. Re4 original was oriented towards fighting, with good, reactive controls. With RE4 remake, it makes no sense to have bullets that do not impact ennemies sometimes like in re2 remake, you feel it in the scene in the village against all the ennemies, you feel so weak against them, but in re4 ori, you felt powerful, it wasn't easy however, perfect balance, perfect game
Jesus you complain. Why are you complaining about the turn around animation? It was even worse and clunkier in the OG. We just get used to it. Just like well get used to this.
@@leagueofdead569 I don't have a problem with animation I have a problem with how often it feels like you are stuck in one despite doing nothing but trying to move around.
It's silly to say that the parry is free but then get grabbed and hit multiple times, it's also funny to say the knife is free but so were the baddies in the OG, you just bait, knife and kick. Repeat. So skilled right? Complains about the dodge saying "it'll be so important (in a sarcastic way) when the tutorial tells you, you can duck, evade certain attacks and stealth. . Complains about the knife being subpar at high level when in reality, the knife is great since you can free slash as well, and the aim slashes are fast as well. Complains about the turn around animation when there is quick turn just like in the OG. The movement is fine IMO and it makes you respect what your facing against. But I understand that it isn't for everyone. I think the QTEs are okay, but like you said I hope it is optional. (btw you can use your knife to break out of it, but the knife isn't that effective according to you. Edit: you can hold down a button instead of mashing the damn the damn thing so now you can’t complain about that :)) Edit 2: the crouch button is actually VERY useful and you can actually use it to manipulate your movement to shrug of grabs if you do it right and to pivot your movement to bait out attacks, especially if you’re injured. I found this out a little bit ago and it can be very useful and I consider it advanced movement.
Thats awesome I had no idea about the crouches extra utility during combat I figured it was just for stealth. I guess it makes sense why they bind it to e
"the knife is great since you can free slash as well, and the aim slashes are fast as well. " except the durability mechanic makes it so you basically never want to use the knife except as an execution when you're grabbed.
@@sunset261 knifes durability can be upgraded and it can be repaired. Attacking with the knife barely takes any durability at all. Parrying with the right timing makes the durability loss nearly none existent. The only things that majorly affect your knifes durability are stealth kills, parrying chainsaw (assuming there’ll be other heavy attacks in this breed too) and getting out of a grab quickly all of which you pay an appropriate cost for what you get (Instakill, Instant Freedom, Deflecting a deadly blow). If you’re not getting grabbed often you can use your knife pretty freely.
@@ghoulofthebeat4946 "Attacking with the knife barely takes any durability at all. " This is false. I played the demo. Simply knifing a couple ganados to death used up quite a bit of durability.
I somewhat agree with some of the things you said, but I think you’re just looking at it from a speedrunning perspective, which makes the issues you state a bigger issue than someone just playing the game normally.
Movement in a game is important. It's not a speedrunner only problem. If you're a complete casual though, yeah the game could play like dogshit and you're not even going to notice.
@@neamravenWhat am I missing here? Isn’t the movement exactly the same from the re2 and re3 remake? From what I recall, it wasn’t much of a problem for those 2 games. Why is it an issue now?
@@Drakkon1997 It's more animation heavy than 2R and 3R. Leon moves around a bit more on his own than in those two games. If you suddenly change direction, he takes longer to reorient himself. He feels slower and heavier overall.
If you hold the knife button you block attacks, but if you press it right before you get hit it will parry the attacks and stagger the enemies, So it's not "free", you still have to time it perfectly to get better results
@@FatGuyEngineer I don’t like that at all. I feel like only the chainsaw should break it. I think I got off 4 knife kills before it broke and then I’m just running away from Salvador like a sissy waiting for the bell to ring lmao
Not to throw Waifu under the bus but I noticed this with both him and Carci when watching their streams of the demo - they’re looking at it from a speed running perspective and nitpicking the hell out of it. Games are not designed with speed running in mind and it looks like they forgot about that. Games are meant to be played to be enjoyed for as long as possible not blasted through quickly with exploits developers don’t intend to put in or leave in the game.
Yeah, mate I see you too I guess you are right, they sees it as a speedrunning spectacle, not like us, just an entertainment spectacle I think they already rigged like that because of what Carci said, their content (speedrunner) is not based on their "personality" It is wholly based on them, having the courage to challenge themselves to execute the hardest and interesting task they can think of People don't come here to watch their reactions, they come here to see flawless parry, no dmg, pistol only, under 3 hours kinda run The exception of this rule is DanteRavioli imo, man first and foremost is not a speedrunner/challenge runner He is a storyteller in heart, I mean have you seen him making fun of Sheva AI, but integrating it with the gameplay and story? No matter how cringe it is, I laugh! I enjoyed it tremendously I kinda understand where they (speedrunner/challenge run) come from though... But I am still irked as well huehuehue Such is the ups and downs in live I suppose
That is true. However look at RE2. You can beat the game in an hour OR you can run around and at the pace the devs intended and play the way they wanted you to. Or you can speedrun it. I think that’s why. Because RE2 was the best of both worlds. My problem is the gun play. The guns feel so weak and clunky. If this is standard difficulty we are going to see a LOT of failed speedruns on the harder difficulties. You can take that to the bank.
I think the parry thing is fine. If you're low on health and/or don't have healing items, you can use the knife to parry. If your knife is about to break and/or you feel like you have plenty of healing items, you might wanna mash/hold the button to set yourself free or take a hit until you can find the next merchant. It's just like defensive items, although it was even more useful in RE1 as sometimes the reason you don't have healing items is because you wanted to have extra available slots and not because you actually ran out
I like the crouch mechanic you can stealth kill which is pretty cool. The gun did feel way harder to use than the original but it was okay. But the game does look pretty fantastic but I think it’s going to be harder just because of the design. But I am glad they changed something because original re4 gets really boring in certain areas im hoping the changes will make it more fun to play through
The handgun felt like it was a bit nerfed. It’s not the recoil that I don’t like, it’s that you can shoot someone 3-4 times in the leg and they just don’t get stunned. You gotta aim for the head in this one (but that’s how it should be)
@@neamraven He complained about everything. E v e r y t h i n g. You know what was so charming about RE4? The cheesy “seriousness” and edginess bravado of Leon. We get that edginess and seriousness in the intro and he complains. Like he’s being a whiny baby bro.

I feel like a lot of people when they know these games are reimagined remakes just want the original game with higher fidelity when it isn’t advertised as that
That's exactly what Bluepoint Games do with their remakes: technically a remake but actually more like a remaster with minimum changes. And people enjoy them nonetheless
@@Grimstroyer yea everyone can have an opinion. But if the game was made to please a speed runner I think the majority of people will hate it. This game has a metacritic score of 93 right now. "I can just spam the parry and be fine" uhh yeah but you're not rewarded with a satisfying stagger from the perfect parry. Plus you can aim the knife to stab enemies in the face to set up a melee move. You can switch the spam qte's to a hold action
@@waifurunslive I'm sure you've been corrected by now but with correct parry timing, you open the ganado to a kick and you don't lose knife durability. If you are early or late, you don't get the kick and your knife takes damage.
I played the demo. I can't use mouse and keyboard controls, and the difficulty of the game feels too high with stick controls. the ps4 controller is apparently the only one that supports motion controls because the motion option is grayed out when I connect my Switch pro controller (which has a d stick layout that is designed for humans). anyone have suggestions on a good controller that has motion control support for this? or is there a way to get the Switch pro controller to work? that would be my preferred controller.
I understand not liking buttom mash QTEs but spamming the parry clearly made enemies grab you more and I think when the game comes out with higher difficulty settings you'll be punished a lot harder for not using it properly.
You also get rewarded if you time the parry just right it staggers the enemy and your can kick them it’s extremely rewarding to time the parry just right if you don’t time it right you just block and your knife takes damage and no kick or stagger. I like the way they did it so anyone can use it but it’s extra rewarding if you are good at it.
Everything is great in this game and i love every mechanic, even the parry is hard because you have to time it right to get a perfect one and not damage your knife but the only thing i hate is not being able to parry a hand attack
Yeah and remember that the weapons in RE4 are supposed to be upgraded. They want you to feel the difference after the upgrades so of course it will start out bad.
It's kinda funny they Waifu nitpicked the turn around for being slow and cumbersome when in the original it took basically the same amount of time to turn around and you had to come to a complete stop for that one.
well you can walk backwards in the original, so if you are running forward then come to an enemy you can instanly stop and be moving the opposite direction, thats not possible in this so if you encounter an enemy the only option is to run the other way but that has a 1 second turn around animation potentially leading you to not be able to turn around
It was easier to avoid enemies in the OG, though. Here the sluggish movement makes it harder to avoid the more proactive enemies who shove you and grab you more often. (It seems like an incentive for the player to avoid scenarios where they're sandwiched by enemies)
@@waifurunslive Dude, my dead grandma in a wheelchair running a marathon is faster than the backwards walk in RE4. It really wasn't that useful, and the ability to dodge in this game leads to way more opportunities to not take damage compared to that slow walk.
I think the movement could be improved if they used made the movement drive the mocap animations, instead of having the mocap animations drive the movement. Basically, you have a movement model that feels good, then you try to most realistically represent it with animations. Procedural animations could be used to help find arbitrary transitions that weren't in mocap data: Build a procedural walk/run cycle model that uses IK, analyze mocap data to the best fitting model parameters (e.g. foot spacing, step height, step length, phase offset, cycle duration, residual forward kinematic differences) and encode the animation based on those parameters. Then you could select animations and blend them based on this new parameterization to have arbitrary yet faithful transitions.
Sorry Waifu, but after just 5 minutes I already thought you were kinda nitpicking a lot. To me it seems like you maybe have some Bias to get rid off to enjoy the Remake, mainly about the OG. You play the OG a lot so I can understand when your brain immediately goes to complaining when smth is different in a game with the same name. I hope you find to live with it in the future though, cuz even me who says the OG RE4 is their favourite game, as of now, got used to the controls really quickly and found them more enjoyable than the OG Also sidenote, is it just me or did the chat feel really toxic towards "Casual Players" as if all of them were Elite Pros at everything? Kinda sucks to be shamed now for just enjoying games without making a competition out of everything :/
resident evil 4 is my favorite RE game and playing the demo was great i have no complaints so far, i wish people like waifu didn't nitpick alot and just enjoyed the game
It's not nitpicking at all though. Movement is incredibly important in a game like this. @@waifurunslive Then why didn’t you say that haha you instead went straight into another complaint about QTEs. Parrying isn’t “completely free” if there are attacks you can’t parry, right? It literally got you killed lol sure you can parry easily for a bit and absolutely destroy your knife asap, but why would you do that instead of saving it for emergency situations? It’s a survival game. I also didn’t understand your complaints about not being able to quickly look behind you after you had just shown off how quick and snappy you can quick-turn with your gun. You had to either quick-turn in the original, or use that totally unintentional camera turn and aim trick to move around fluidly. RE4 was honestly way too easy. You can one shot stun pretty much everything. I suppose it did make it more satisfying because you felt like a badass taking on hordes of enemies with absolute ease, but this feels much more stressful in a way that the original resident evil games always had. Being limited by your movement is incredibly old-school RE. I like for you to be honest if this is how you felt but it just seemed unexpectedly negative and nitpicky and bad-faith at times. Yeah, camera speed felt weird for me as well, and the movement is obviously very different from the original and more similar to the other remakes. After a couple of runs through the demo I got used to it, but it still feels painfully slow at times, like you’re running in mud
It's good that you expressed your full opinion even though it many people wouldn't like to hear it. Honestly the knife parry overall was a disappointment for me. The controls are tanky in a different way than the OG but I will take that. Still, I like the remake a lot and I don't think it should be compared to the OG. Both are good in their own way and can't possibly be the same in all aspects.
I personally love realism and the game looks amazing, not everyone is a speedrunner so i couldn't care less about the controls they are good enough for me. Also parrying has its disadvantages like if you parry too early it stuns you and slows you down, but if you do a perfect parry it allows to instantly melee after the parry. Also your knife loses durability after every parry so you can spam it so much untill it breaks. And finally if you decide to spam the parry other enemies will opt out to grab you more instead of attacking you.
@@OGsYutaka I mean, there is a 180 quick turn with the upper right trigger along with pulling back the left analog stick. Not sure if that’s the one you’re talking about.
Leon aiming that gun feels wrong like his aiming at the right ..weird wish if it was just like the original with the laser sight and you feel the gun is aiming straight
Sure both the content creator and the comment section have some opinions that suck. But I have my own 2 cents to throw. First, I highly miss the laser sights and hope we unlock attachments early on. Because this isn’t Remake 2 with slow zombies that allow “tactical” shooting by standing still and getting an accurate shot. Remake 4 will constantly be fast paced so we won’t have the luxury of aiming well. So many moments will be RNG shots instead of having great aim in RE4 Original. And while the Knife is full of options… durability. Remake 2 made it super strong and the game didn’t make you fight that many enemies so ammunition was well spread even without having the knowledge of every ammo location. Remake 4 will tread a fine line between making you have enough ammo to survive or COD. Because the moment you use every resource you objectively have 0 ways of dealing damage, something the original knife was created for! So I truly hope we get the “infinite knife” like in Remake 2 after one playtrough… or LET LEON USE HIS FIST!
I think Capcom was just tired of people beating their games with only a knife. Lol. Some of the momentum and weight behind Leon's moves make sense, but I do agree that for basic movement the flow should be better. RE2R definitely felt smoother in terms of simple movement, they should kept it that way, and maybe even gave Leon the same dodge mechanics with Jill in RE3R.
"look the parry is free" doesn't land a single perfect parry breaking his knife (perfect parries don't break it or at least the durability hit is negligible)
I'm thinking I just don't like the new engine. I didn't like the feel of 7 or remake 2 either. Pretty good at adapting so I'll enjoy it more once I have more time into it
4:05 well yah know in our reality when run Turn around quickly while Running it will require you to Pause a little unless you are super acrobat levels but usually with most people it would be a complete SLOPPY-ASS motion with that off mind i can see why those types of animations can become and annoyance see it from the bright side in other RE games the quick turn while running is much slower ffck it all Belmont out
WaifuRuns once again calls it as he sees it: 1) Graphics are too heavy/dense 2) Presentation and graphics are coming at the expense of game play 3) Movement is not that fluid while being clunky/glitchy 4) Game presentation is "too serious cinematic" or "too melodramatic" My complaints: 1) I don't like the overly contrived tighter environments 2) ^The original had spacious areas but the enemies organically eradicated your space when you least expected...esp on professional mode playing with non-upgraded default weapons; this is pure genius that even the developers may have created on accident.... 3) Even if we took away Assignment Ada/Separate Ways/Mercenaries from the original RE4, just the single player mode alone had crazy replay value. 4) ^The replay value of RE4 remake based on the single player OG campaign will not replicate what RE4 original was able to accomplish....and NO...showing off speed runs, secondary runs with upgraded weapons, and then subsequently airing all of that on YT will not count.

yeah im ngl to you, i love this remake but god almighty the move feels really bad, like why wasnt it something like og re4 hd project where the tweaks would let you freely move around when u spin the camera
guns actually handle like that. so does moving your body around, for that matter. not surprising that a speedrunner who's always preferred pc would feel the way you do about it, though
I mean you could say the gunplay and movement feel weighty. Your reasoning that "guns handle like that" and your body also handles like that implies that they were going for some sort of realism in a game where, let me remind you, you are able to block a chainsaw slash with your knife. Also preferring pc has nothing to do with the weighty-ness of the gamplay. Personally I really like how it plays because it feels more grounded and it will be a good change. We always have the original.
Are you 120 years old? No one moves like that in real life. Especially if you're young and trained. I move better than Leon and I'm a 36 year old shut in. And on top of that, movement in games doesn't need to be realistic. More often than not, realistic movement makes for poor gameplay.
The knife system (and it's durable nature) isn't something I enjoy. Additionally, the combat just feels off. I don't know how to explain it. It just doesn't flow very well. Controlling Leon feels clunky....I'm still hyped for the game of course, but I hope I adapt to it well
So about 45 minutes into the gameplay you mention how you’d like it if you could perry without having to spam the knife, but you can actually just hold the perry button down, when they are close enough leon will automatically perry perfectly as well not taking away from the durability of the knife ultimately allowing you to use infinitely on regular attacking genado’s. Good video Broski!
Let's keep it non toxic people. Some people just won't click with certain things. I enjoyed the demo heavily but it is odd compared to the original. It'll take some getting used to but I'm open to learn and to see the depth. If you wanna say it's bad and stick to the original do so. If you're hyped, be hyped just don't be an ass, the remake isn't made to surpass but to reimagine the original and as long as it ain't RE3make level of effort, which it far surpasses from this demo alone, then it's fine.
“Why will I parry when it takes resources?” I dunno huh… to avoid damage lol. Cmon dude really? Also, what do you mean you can’t quick turn? Press are R1 with the stick backwards and tadda you have unlocked quick turn. Most of these complaints are just easily debunked
Tbh would have been better if the knife was just the knife and the parry replaced by the 3make dodge or even instead of paying with the knife it could be a melee attack with stricter timing and a suplex if you pull off perfect timing
Turning circles might be 'realistic' (debateable) but it feels like shit on KBM. If you've not played RE2R, RE3R or RE4R demo on KBM you probably haven't experienced getting stuck running diagonally while you are just trying to run forward. That is neither realistic nor fun to play. Actually I recall RE6's turning circle feeling pretty shitty even on pad. I've yet to see someone criticise Dead Space because the movement isn't 'realistic' enough.

Give leon a shord and a shield and we have Just another souls game not very RE4like the way the character moves witch was the first think i noticed and commented in other videos and also something i didn't notice was the brutal camera that's something that will give headaches but absolutelly amazing graphics.
- Camera does move quick enough - 0.5 seconds turn arounds - Whining about aesthetics being a priority on an atmospheric game - Cant open doors fast - Games cant be realistic because apparently that is less fun And those are the first 10 minutes of complaining
Dissing the movement and realism far to much. They made the game with what they had, for the time the graphics were good, if they had today’s technology back then the realism would scale accordingly. As for the second a half turning, dude it’s not that long, no need to exaggerate and make it sound worse than it is. Use quick turn
Nitpicking stuff from a 10 out 10 game because the dude has 2K hours in the original, yet he still doesn't know you can crouch to evade, weave to evade, poke knife to face for a free melee and of course It's more serious. You haven't even started the game and you are biased towards negativity. This game has by far the best movement out of any RE game on a DualSense, super smooth turns. K&M was always janky. And you can quickturn faster than original. Stick Down + R1, you are welcome. Realism makes the game way better too. It doesn't sacrifice gameplay for the story. Two separate things.
Movement on pad is not the same as on KBM. Fact is, RE2R, RE3R and now RE4R all have this sluggishness to them that you might not notice on pad, but certainly should on KBM. I personally wish movement was more akin to previous RE games and Dead Space - pressing down/back is always backwards, not turn around.

More Enemies, More Options, More Stealth, More Gore, More Gameplay than the original, and revamped the bad sections. The Demo proved it. It also has a good movement system that people can't get a grasp on. Leon has Momentum and Inertia. This is realistic, but it also plays in a part on how you move and weave and bob to DODGE enemies. REmake4 is not based on 0-1 Movement and funneling Enemies into one Space to attack them at once. It's made to evade attacks and only attack when in a pinch. Giving the Knife a better role when you are slow and shooting while aiming. Screenshot it right now, because you know it will be. Only delusional old fans are vary. The only bad movement system the series had was HD Remaster 3D Controls, breaking out of animations at fixed camera angles.
@@LegendaryPlank Not the same on different inputs, but they Momentum and Inertia gives a more realistic feel to the game. It's not sluggish. It's not meant for you to funnel enemies into one group and just shoot. It's made for evasion, weaving, bobbing around. And aside from Realism, it works superbly well with the game and how it is designed. You aren't standing and shooting anymore everyone. You are dodging most enemies, killing those you have to. It's far easier to dodge grabs, axes, attacks, chainsaws with the new movement and revamped AI being super agressive. The old AI could just be Juked by going forward than backwards or standing in one place and wait for them to pile up, then shoot a shotgun blast and Knife Them while their recovery animation plays out. This made Dr. Salvadore a joke. Original is still a Masterpiece. I put my other comments down below/abpve responding to another user. Why i think this will be GOTY for many and almost a flawless game. REmake2 was 10 out of 10 for most people, even for me. DMCV too. Who is to say this project, their biggest project will not going to be the same, and EVEN better? But Waifu is biased, that's all i am saying. Too biased. Also REmake2 and 3 had different movement to REmake4. They had no momentum and no inertia. They also didn't play to dodge, but rather to juke like original games. They were snappier for sure, but better? Debatable. Especially given the new AI and how aggressive they are, being able to dodge most things in a fluid manner with a weight behind the movement was a must for the revamped enemies.
Damn, that intro cutscene had 120% edgelord feels, sounds so much different than the professional sound from the original RE4. will edit as more is seen. edit 1: they seemed to have removed a lot of agency from the moment a cutscene starts up. I will say initially thought the melee animations were a bit weak, but once you got into the village area, it seemed a bit better. Not sure, but I think there might be a chance to save that cop on the cross, as he wasn't already dead and on fire when you got into there, so maybe they intend to swap out saving the dog for saving one of the two cops. Chainsaw enemies seem more awkward seeing as when you got the shotgun it didn't manage to blast him off his feet in 4 shots close range, but when you meleed another enemy near him, it slammed him into a wall and gave you the melee prompt. Edit 2: dang that knife was trash, what was that, like 5-6 uses for kill moves and it broke, but parrying 4 attacks and it didn't seem to drop in durability too much, like what kind of special agent standard issue knife would even work that way,
I thought the same thing about the cop, however I confirmed that the Japanese localized version of the demo actually censors him being alive and screaming while he burns to death like in the US version. In the Japanese version he's already dead and static when you arrive to the village square.

Yeah, mate I see you too
I guess you are right, they sees it as a speedrunning spectacle, not like us, just an entertainment spectacle
I think they already rigged like that because of what Carci said, their content (speedrunner) is not based on their "personality"
It is wholly based on them, having the courage to challenge themselves to execute the hardest and interesting task they can think of
People don't come here to watch their reactions, they come here to see flawless parry, no dmg, pistol only, under 3 hours kinda run
The exception of this rule is DanteRavioli imo, man first and foremost is not a speedrunner/challenge runner
He is a storyteller in heart, I mean have you seen him making fun of Sheva AI, but integrating it with the gameplay and story?
No matter how cringe it is, I laugh! I enjoyed it tremendously
I kinda understand where they (speedrunner/challenge run) come from though...
But I am still irked as well huehuehue
Such is the ups and downs in live I suppose
That is true. However look at RE2. You can beat the game in an hour OR you can run around and at the pace the devs intended and play the way they wanted you to. Or you can speedrun it. I think that’s why. Because RE2 was the best of both worlds.
My problem is the gun play. The guns feel so weak and clunky. If this is standard difficulty we are going to see a LOT of failed speedruns on the harder difficulties. You can take that to the bank.
No he's looking at it from the perspective of a person who understands movement in games and who enjoys and looks for good gameplay.

I feel like the movement adjustment is a plus, it makes things much more close combat and chaotic
How are you doing the quick turn while aiming?
It’s probably on PC only. That is if you’re on console.
@@Drakkon1997 I hope not
@@OGsYutaka I mean, there is a 180 quick turn with the upper right trigger along with pulling back the left analog stick. Not sure if that’s the one you’re talking about.
Leon aiming that gun feels wrong like his aiming at the right ..weird wish if it was just like the original with the laser sight and you feel the gun is aiming straight
Bruh by holding knife you only block, yea its free but does not give you adventage and takes more durability
I thought it was a little funky at first but, I got the hang of it and found it good. Too little content in the demo to tell the game's quality.
Pretty good at adapting so I'll enjoy it more once I have more time into it
RE3R felt good to play. That's about it.
It’s not the engine, it’s hard the game is deliberately made considering DMC5 imo feels just as DMC4 felt
Love it, no complaints here.
I'm assuming that there will be an infinite knife. The last RE games had add-on weapons you could buy.

WaifuRuns once again calls it as he sees it:
1) Graphics are too heavy/dense
2) Presentation and graphics are coming at the expense of game play
3) Movement is not that fluid while being clunky/glitchy
4) Game presentation is "too serious cinematic" or "too melodramatic"
My complaints:
1) I don't like the overly contrived tighter environments
2) ^The original had spacious areas but the enemies organically eradicated your space when you least expected...esp on professional mode playing with non-upgraded default weapons; this is pure genius that even the developers may have created on accident....
I have not played yet but it looks amazing

Looks amazing, feels amazing.
guns actually handle like that. so does moving your body around, for that matter. not surprising that a speedrunner who's always preferred pc would feel the way you do about it, though
I didn't make the game bro I don't decide what parts Capcom strives for realism and what parts are slapstick
Remember that the weapons are upgradable so when a weapon is fully upgraded I'm sure it will feel better.
Are you 120 years old? No one moves like that in real life. Especially if you're young and trained. I move better than Leon and I'm a 36 year old shut in.
And on top of that, movement in games doesn't need to be realistic. More often than not, realistic movement makes for poor gameplay.
Ther is way it’s in control settings
44:55 this IS how it works lol but it's not exactly frame perfect
Maybe they should’ve left the bingo out of the demo to make ppl angy
Not all heroes wear capes
Hot take but I feel like this game can benefit from RE6 style counters and dodge
I LOVE RE6's dodging and sliding animations but if you give them too much movement all the sudden the game isn't horror enough LOL.

As a game dev and have tried the game… your review feels questionable, but its a debate…
Dissing the movement and realism far to much.
They made the game with what they had, for the time the graphics were good, if they had today’s technology back then the realism would scale accordingly.
As for the second a half turning, dude it’s not that long, no need to exaggerate and make it sound worse than it is. Use quick turn
'Use quick turn'.
LMAO.

REmake4 Demo Released, giving us a slice of the pie, people went Crazy. They already knew.
So yeah, in a sense, we did play the game. The Demo. The short Demo. If a short Demo is 10 out of 10 for many, who is to say the main game won't be?
Side Quests, A LOT of optional Puzzles, and Interconnected Levels.
You probably didn't even notice the small details, like how Leon uses his Pistol Grip called C.A.R. for Close Counter Encounters when close up. Which was developed for accuracy and close encounters. It stands for Center Axis Relock Even John Wick used the Stance. And it's very effective.
Capcom knows what they are doing.
This is going to be GOTY. Screenshot it right now, because you know it will be. Only delusional old fans are vary. The only bad movement system the series had was HD Remaster 3D Controls, breaking out of animations at fixed camera angles.
@@StabVariation You are so easily pleased and such a brainless dolt it almost makes me physically sick.
Complains about how “realistic” the game is, while here I am parrying a chainsaw
If the knife is not wooden then you literally can, lol. Chainsaws weren’t design to cut metal in the first place.
@@Drakkon1997 sure but it’s kinda like… good luck with that lmao
@@FirearmEnthusiast drat, could have at least been an interesting change possibility with him maybe offering help during the el gigante fight, compared to the dog which seems to be dead in this demo.

As someone who has 5,000 hours clocked into RE4, I understand your criticisms but can't help but feel like a lot of the things you currently dislike can be attributed to your Speedrunning biases of the original game.
