Your white gravy to us is a rue sauce, butter, plain flour and milk and is the foundation for many sauces like adding dill for fish or adding cheese for macaroni cheese etc. I’m going to try to portion your gravy’s down to a single serving to give them a try as I love the idea of having different ready to use in my larder. Thanks for the recipes. I usually make mine right in the pan as I need it because I am one person only. These 3 are great if you have people over for dinner as it will make a larger quantity. I also really like Onion White Sauce by sauteeing some thinly sliced onion slivers in butter until golden and soft, add some flour or cornstarch so you have a thick paste and it 'cooks' while stirring, then add some water or chicken bouillon (from powder). Stir and thicken and can sieve out the onions for picky eaters who do not like the onion bits or eat as is over something. Yum to all gravies and sauces!
I have been making so many things from scratch these past few mos (mainly due to finances) but now I just can not go back to boxes and cans .From scratch is just so much tastier, healthier, and cheaper. Almost $2 can (after tax), for Campbell's is absolutely ridiculous. And store brands are cheaper, but don't have many flavors. They can keep it. I'm so glad i just found your channel yesterday. There are so many things i will be making now. 😋
Creme of soups are a favorite when not feeling well but, they're either impossible to find anymore or too expensive when we do find them. Appreciate these recipes so I can make up my own to keep on hand.
Personally, the difference in both flavour and texture between non-fat and full-fat powdered milk is big enough for me to use only full-fat. I buy the Nido brand in the yellow can in the Hispanic section. I use it as creamer for my tea, too. Great recipe for the approaching chill.
Thanks so much, I am new to your channel and I love it. The white gravy is great, always made mine the long way from scratch, this is so much easier and taste so good. I'll be making it more often now......(especially for my veggie soup with white gravy).....so good!
I really like these gravy and soup mixes. The bouillon mix is a great idea since i buy nootch in bulk to get the best price. I use nootch in nearly all my soups and stews to add nutrition and flavor. I also have dehydrated mushrooms that I could grind into powder to add to the bouillon mix, maybe cutting the nutritional yeast by a quarter cup to yield the same volume.

So why did you not “cook” the flour in the country gravy recipe? Wouldn’t that flour still be raw? Or does the actual preparing it later take care of that?
I’ve just never made a roux for the instant country gravy. Maybe because of the powdered milk. As long as you cook it for a couple minutes, the flour will be fine😁

I am lactose intolerent. That's why I asked if I can leave it out to make Country gravy, then add my milk to cook.
@@312countrygirl I think they sell powdered milk alternatives like soy, coconut, etc. Check on Amazon and see if you might find something that will work for you😊😊
Thanks for the recipes.
Thanks for watching!😁😁
That sounds delicious! I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion 😊
Awesome video, is your black labels you use in your Amazon store?
Thanks! Yes, they are under the meal prep tab😁
I’m so glad!😁😁
Creme of soups are a favorite when not feeling well but, they're either impossible to find anymore or too expensive when we do find them. Appreciate these recipes so I can make up my own to keep on hand.
These ones are gravy except for the bouillon. I did just post a cream soup mix though😁😁
Personally, the difference in both flavour and texture between non-fat and full-fat powdered milk is big enough for me to use only full-fat. I buy the Nido brand in the yellow can in the Hispanic section. I use it as creamer for my tea, too. Great recipe for the approaching chill.
I guess I haven’t used it enough to notice a difference. I might do my own side by side comparison and see what I think. Thanks for sharing😁😁
Thanks so much, I am new to your channel and I love it. The white gravy is great, always made mine the long way from scratch, this is so much easier and taste so good. I'll be making it more often now......(especially for my veggie soup with white gravy).....so good!
Thanks and welcome to the family!😁
I love home made gravy thank you for the recipe God Bless you and your family
Thank you!😁
So Neat 😮
Thanks!😁
I love these kinds of recipes.
Thanks!😁
Question, about to make and came across another recipe very similar to yours, but only 2 tablespoons of yeast?? Less yeast is a tad confusing??
I can’t speak for different recipes. This is just the way I do mine🙂
Great idea!😁😁

I did a search and couldn't find your video on Bacon Essentials.
Lol ‘baking’ essentials😂😂 Don’t mind the accent. Here’s the link ua-cam.com/video/FWTcR2yj_wg/v-deo.htmlsi=dn8iTb43pOqpeKa1
@@TalesFromAnEmptyNest No, I found the Baking Essentials video, I was hoping for a Bacon Essentials video.

We dont eat country gravy where i live but i was thinking what a great recipe it would be for a white cook- in sauce for chicken with a glass of white wine added
Sounds great!😁
I definitely need your videos, cooking doesn’t come naturally to me and I don’t want all the chemicals from the store packets so these recipes are awesome. I am just going to start a recipe book of sauces, rice a roni from your videos. Thx
Thanks!😁😁
So why did you not “cook” the flour in the country gravy recipe? Wouldn’t that flour still be raw? Or does the actual preparing it later take care of that?
I’ve just never made a roux for the instant country gravy. Maybe because of the powdered milk. As long as you cook it for a couple minutes, the flour will be fine😁
Such great recipes! I much prefer using what I have then buying a packet and not know what’s in it!
Thank you! So true!😁
❤❤❤
😁😁
Flavors.
🙂
Why don’t you make a book , That will be so handy ,
A cookbook takes a lot of work and right now between working full time and having 2 UA-cam channels, I don’t have the extra time. But maybe one day😊😊
