Lalah surviving would lead to the good ending of the UC timeline. Char, filled with hope for the future, leads Zeon and manages to find common ground with the Earth Federation. He keeps the Zeon military remnants from becoming insurgents and prevents more colony drops. Amuro realizes he doesn't really love Lalah and ends up with Sayla. What we got was the bad ending of the UC Timeline where Char is consumed with despair and only wanted to go out duelling Amuro to the death. The Zeon remnants become deep rooted insurgents and the Earth Federation becomes more extreme to counter them. This all eventually leads to humanity nearly annihilating itself and driving civilization back hundreds of years, as seen in Turn A.
I wouldn't be surprised if one or more of the Super Robot Wars entries also saw Lalah survive. Preventing or sidestepping character deaths is a reoccurring element of the non-OG games.
4:57 Damn, rip to that ball pilot. Imagine trying to hide from crazy newtypes and their mobile WMDs when the Zeong rounds the corner and makes sure the poor bastard would never see their friends and family again.
This was the one game that I dont think we got in the UK. I remember playing Federation vs Zeon a lot when I was 11, at that point I've only seen Gundam Wing and that started my obsession. So my experience with the OYW story was through that game. I need to replay that and then Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, the PS2 era of Gundam games were truly special you can tell the developers put their heart and soul into the games. I've been playing through Gundam Target in Sight (Crossfire) and its reminding me of Federation vs Zeon a lot, its actually not as awful as the media made it out to be in the west.
I think Jerid is a genuinely interesting character. He's a man bound by revenge because Kamile kills everyone he's close with. He is shown having some genuine compassion for the pilots under his command until he meets Scirocco and is corrupted by him, turning into someone who only looks out for himself. If Jerid had awoken his newtype abilities sooner, it's possible that him and Kamile would have reached more of an understanding between each other, realize that both of them has caused each other pain and suffering by killing friends and loved ones. If this connection would have formed, Four may not have died, and if Four doesn't die on earth, the events of Amuro's and Quattro's past are not repeated.
Felt like he could do more time developing or fleshing out his relationship with every people he met,in that sense he wouldn't look like a manchild throwing fits on a teenager for the thing they couldn't control,am i supposed to feel angry,or tragic events for a character that just appeared in 1 episode? It doesn't felt justified enough
I find it a bit hard to sympathize with Jerid seeing how Jerid gleefully took hostage and murders a civillian (Kamille's mother) because Kamille got under his skin. Bit of a hypocrite since he tries to murder and has murdered Kamille's loved ones but throws a meltie when his loved ones are murdered (the difference being Jerid's loved ones are actual active combatants unlike Kam's mummy).
@@zaqypribadi1299 As far as Kamille's mother goes, Jerid didn't know what was going on. He thought the capsule she was in, was a bomb designed to destroy the stolen mark II.
The rivalry between Jerid and Kamille was one of the best things about Zeta Gundam. Maybe Jerid would get more love if he got a better ending. I always felt like it was anticlimactic. He probably got the third most amount of screen time of any character so he deserved better.
No,it definitely felt too forced and shoehorned into the story, like they tried to replicate Amuro and Char rivalry but badly executed, even all the bullshit started by Katz in Zeta conveniently explained by using "newtype" as excuses for all the mess he caused
I really enjoyed this "What if Lalah Survived" scenario. It would be great to see more of these. In particular, I'd like to see what other character "what if" scenarios exist, especially if they change the story significantly. For example, what if Haman Karn didn't become Regent protector of Minerva Zabi and de facto leader of Neo Zeon? I would also like to know if they had any scenarios for Cima Garahau's survival of Operation: Stardust in this game. Aside from that, I didn't even know this game existed.
It's so sad Gundam Versus dropped the story content after this entry. Imagine if we got an expanded UC mode that covers everything up through Char's Counterattack or even Unicorn, complete with additional what if scenarios. Like what if Londo Bell actually stopped Char's first asteroid drop from earlier in CCA, or what of Kou Uraki killed Cima Garahau in their first encounter so Operation Stardust targetted Granada as originally planned. There's so much potential.
Yeah there's really such huge potential for the franchise with today's tech. I'd love an open world-like RPG that takes place on Earth, the space around it, and around various colonies. Imagine controlling a pilot that can not only pilot a suit, but also disembark and navigate around within ships, POI's like cities, colonies, etc. in order to pickup missions, buy new parts/weapons, and more from a 3rd person perspective. Could have multiple playable factions, a level up system that allows you to unlock more and more new type abilities, you could go so many different directions with it. Would love for the graphical style of something like this to be cell-shaded as well for an authentic to the show visual presentation. Maybe I'll make a video describing something like that in more detail and hope Bandai sees it 😂😂
I don't think stardust ever PLANNED to target Granada. They would just need to send a different negotiator. They could also do paths for OVA 0083 and the Rebellion manga. "What if Gato visited the moon."
okay so while I absolutely think Jerid is an asshole and dislike him for it, I do think that a lot of people sleep on what he is supposed to be as a character and his character arc and don't dislike him for quite the right reasons.
Do the "Sayla and Lalah both die" doomsday scenario fron the game. It leads to Char's Counterattack happening early and the ZZ Gundam taking the place of the Nu.
Amuro and Char may have actually survived in CCA. There was actually a quick shot as Axis is floating away from Earth where you see a MS booster flying off, suggesting that Nu Gundam actually escaped.
My tactic for playing Elmeth in Zero G map is to spam Bits if they have at least 3 or 4 shots. Then i wait for it to recharge and then do it again. The enemy would have a harder time to dodge those shots if you swarm them rather than just spamming one bit at a time. Your Main Cannon should often be use if you are charging into the enemy.
Why are your wingmates piloting OYW MS during the Gryps War and Neo Zeon War? Char was directly responsible for the development of the Rick Dias, Regelgu, Dowas Custom, and other MS, and Neo Zeon developed custom versions of the Neiue Zeal II MA, Zaku III Custom, Dreissen, and other MS for his use.
i remember spending hours to just barely survive in order to get this scenario. In the end i just gave up and ended up running away until the time ran out. That's how i barely got access to this one. Sometimes this game is just hard as balls.
Man these games are so cozy for me... the sfx, bgm, space levels and desolate levels ❤ This could double as asmr tbh. 10 hour long playthrough to sleep to lol 😂 Also if Lalah survived, i think the same outcome would happen regardless. She seemed like a selfless spirit to a fault 🥺
I wish Sunrise would make like a series or OVA of what ifs just to get context because the games text isn't that great in between missions but mostly it would just be interesting to see for fans
Definitly want to see more if you're willing. should've picked this game up a long time ago but never did. Played a lot of Fed vs. Zeon. One gundam game I keep coming back to though is Gihren's Greed. I think i'm using the menace of axis V version.
I like the idea of doing more videos like this. Any chance you can go over how to unlock certain paths as you do them? I've completed the second mission with Lalah, but then it just ends. It doesn't continue onto the Zeta era. As an aside, my best friend actually DOES like Jerrid. Might have helped Jerrids case that he was introduced to the character in Dynasty Warriors Gundam.
OMG i used to play this game competitively; there were PS2 shops back then that let you play for like $2 an hour, and one of them held tournaments for ZVG with the Elmeth and Qubeley (and even the zeong), you can send out the funnels 1 by 1, to force your opponent to waste boost to dodge them until they ran out and they get stunlocked, and you can capitalize on it by waiting to see they get hit before shooting with your main. When sending out your funnels you can also control from which direction it will fire (by inputting the direction when you send it out). If you can get the timing right, you can do disgusting stuff like firing, your opponent dodging 90deg to the side, then HAHA my funnel is firing straight at you in the direction you dodged. You should also send out some funnels just before doing melee. Either it hits the target and deals more damage during your melee combo, or it saves your ass if you wiff your melee and got meleed back. The qubeley single funnels dont really stun upon hit, so it is pretty safe to do so never send out all 10 funnels at once to do that big shot, unless you are trying to flex. It is a huge waste of ammo.
@@padorupadoru4477 This is great advice, I had NO IDEA this was ever played like that. Makes sense though. Was there an established meta? Curious what the most broken suits were.
btw at the competitive level, Hyaku Shiki and Galbadly B were S tiers because they fired at a 45 deg angle, which made it very easy for them to do side-step spamming and fire. All other MS had to stop and face the enemy (or stop and do their animations) while doing the side-step spamming, which made them vulnerable and easy to catch.
Also, in those missions where you are told to go kill a parked White Base or survive the time, you can actually destroy the White Base if you have a Byg Zam or Psycho / Psycho MkII for the Byg Zam you big beam it, then keep walking into it to do damage until your big beam gets off cooldown. for the Psychos, go into MA mode and press your chest to it and do the scatter beam thing
