Hey guys! I just want to acknowledge that I did not eat as much food as I normally do in this video - like I mentioned, I lost three hours due to the time difference and actually went to bed before I would have been eating my dinner on the west coast. I ate enough food to keep me full and satisfied, and I wasn't going to lie and say I ate more or less than I actually did. I obviously want everyone to listen to their OWN bodies and hunger cues and to eat whenever and whatever they want, as long as it's vegan 😜 Your body knows you better than anyone else on the internet and as long as you do not have disordered eating habits it will tell you when it is hungry and full - it all balances out in the end ☺ That being said, I ate way more than I normally would the day after I filmed this - and that's completely ok! If you want to see what I would eat on a "normal" day, please check out some of my other what I eat in a day videos. Thank you!
Love your travel tips! I was just on a trip where I met a flight attendant. She told me not to use the ice or hot water on the plane because it's very dirty and moldy. She suggested getting hot water before getting on the plane. Also for water I find that the flight attendants don't mind refilling my portal bottle with the complementary bottled water.
Haha I'm glad it appeared that way, in reality I felt so awkward and was telling myself "suck it up Caitlin, this is your "job" and you should not feel awkward doing something you are passionate about" 😂
CAITLIN OMG I'M SO PROUD OF YOUR AUDIBLE SPONSORSHIP!! Congrats girl!! Audiobooks are my liiiife and true lifesavers for long flights (or long walks or drives)
Great travel tips! I'll definitely try the oatmeal to-go. Genius and easy! Also, most stewardesses recommend not drinking hot water from a plane- it's not sanitized well apparently, but most coffee shops give out free hot water or just charge for the cup. Thanks for all your videos: it's helped my transition to a plant based diet tremendously!❤️
Love your travel hacks....My travel “hack”...after watching some trucker videos...I bought (cheap) a HotLogic Mini...which is kind of like a hot plate in a collapsible insulated flat lunchbox. I also bring a cheap Tupperware type flat rectangular container. I can heat up leftovers in a hotel room that doesn’t have a microwave....I fill the container with leftovers or soup or anything I want warmed up.... change clothes, watch a little tv or read...and an hour later (time passes fast) I have a warm healthy meal. Lightweight and easy to travel with. I also travel with an mini iPot and hot water maker when I road trip.
definitely second the water thing, especially when traveling while (get ready to offend people with anatomy) menstruating. it made my flow soo much lighter. being so high up in the air can also dehydrate your skin, and going to areas with extreme climates can also dehydrate your skin. to say the least, its super important.
This is so helpful, I was literally going to search for a video like this because I'm flying from London to Canada in a few weeks and needed some ideas of food to bring for the flight! Thank you :)
Have a safe flight and be sure to pack lots of snacks! The only thing to keep in mind is fresh or dried fruit usually gets confiscated when you enter a new country, so just eat that before you land ;)
would you be able to talk about how you plan a solo trip. I really want to take a vacation alone but I don't know where to start. Im very low budget and I don't drive. ❤ you
Just before I go on a trip I like to stock something in my freezer like a chili or a stew so when I come back I have food ready for me! This is especially great if you've flown long haul and are jetlagged.
usually I'll get hot water for oats and tea from a coffee shop in the terminal, especially if you tip them the employees are always willing to give you hot water for free! I put my oats in a hydroflask thermos and by the time I open it up on the plane they are nice and soft the way i like them!
I have just discovered your channel today and made your granola. I am so behind the times, I have just discovered four sigmatic a few months ago. Love it
Ways I fly a plane Food: (Breakfast): Fruit or Starbucks (I stopped getting Starbucks because of palm oil) (Lunch): Chipotle (Dinner): Chipotle Drink: Buy a water bottle (using plastic [which is bad]) or drink the drinks that are vegan on the flight Entertainment: Reading books Flown a plane many times so I know the drill to flying, plus I want to be an Air Traffic Control when I grow up.
I sometimes put hot water in oats at work but idk why I never thought to do this for traveling... Thanks! I typically just starve at airports because I'm too stubborn to buy overpriced stuff there.
Lol did no one else notice the little bug that was on the lid of the jar you put your oats in? I just thought it was funny. Love the video as always Caitlin!
the best thing about bringing your own food on planes is you get to eat whenever you want instead of waiting for the designated meal times :P love your channel
Thanks so much for that instant oatmeal recipe! Trying it right now with a greens superfood blend powder and that same berry blend you got, except it is the purple bag with only berries no nuts/seeds. I also added pumpkin seeds. Tastes great! Am gonna bring me a jar of this dry mix and an empty glass or steel water bottle whenever I fly, now! :)
lol, of course I noticed the tiny bug on the lid of your oats jar (you can see it when you were prepping) thanks for the tips Caitlin! I'll definately be bringing some of my own food next time I travel!
I once tried to bring overnight oats on the plane and it was confiscated at security (to be fair, it looked like mush...suspicious, delicious mush), so thanks for the tip about packing dry oats and just asking for hot water! How long do you let them soak for?
I actually have to credit that to my friend Jasmine @SweetSimpleVegan! Usually I put water in my oats too, I get pulled over by TSA but they never get taken away. The one downside to this way is you have to wait for hot water!
I loved this video! I've been wanting to go vegan for a long time and finding your videos kind of pushed me to start! Right now I'm just a vegetarian, but I'm slowly working my way to being a vegan and am so excited!
Dont you have to use the washroom more often after drinking that much water? Isnt it...bothersome? I try to not drink water at all during schools and then drink tons when i get home? When i drink tht much water, i have to use the washroom every hour
I love you ... really but they do this one month trial for everyone :) even without sponsorship:) I've been a customer of audible for a long time and I love it too ❤️
when Audible sponsors a video the youtuber has to promote audible and then if people use audible because of that promotion, audible is able to tell due to the offer code - even though the offer could be acquired anyway
I've been looking for videos for vegan foods that can pass through TSA! I'll be traveling for about 19+ hours and the time difference is a whopping 17 hours ahead! 😅 so I'll definitely be needing to pack breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you for this video, it helps A BUNCH!
I read that you aren't supposed to drink the water that they give you on airplanes unless it is bottled. Has to do with e coli. It's why you don't see flight attendants drinking their own coffee (they go to Starbuck's).
This is a great video! I think it's so cool how your super creative wether it's video ideas, meals, topics etc. Your such an inspiration and I would love to meet you one day! Your also so beautiful and inspiring. I'm 12 and your recipes and so helpful and have really improved my cooking skills 😊 Sending love and support from NZ x
Awesome video, Caitlin! I'm going to be traveling quite a bit this summer, so this is really helpful! Also, what are the rules for bringing food through security? I always thought that you couldn't bring anything, but I've seen other people on UA-cam do it so I guess I'm a little confused lol
just love the video! I'm going to Patagonia in a few days and I'm planning to bring a lot of food. I think my bag will be 90% food 10% clothes hahahahahah
I love your videos! You should do a video on what vitamins you take / how to eat correctly (I guess is the right word to use?) as a vegan. I am newish (Few months now) to veganism and I am obsessed with your fun recipes, but part of me is hoping I'm getting the correct nutrients. I do feel great though! Keep rocking it
Can you still bring the water bottles through security check? I just brought a small one from dollar store in case they have throw away and what to do for on airplane for 4 hours flight Arizona to New Jersey it in 2 months
Can you do a video about like how you packed for traveling on a plane? That's really a challenge and I would like to see how you packed for you Cali trip?
Everything looked so good. I love the tips you gave for traveling. I'm always so afraid to bring food with me because I think they might take it lol. Also, did you make your refried beans from dry beans?
6:14 Lady in blue - "Check out the weird girl with her camera." Lady in pink - *looks over* "Omg you're right." We appreciate the vlogging in public! People need to get over it. It's really not weird lol. At least you're not on snap chat opening your mouth or sticking our your tongue or something ha.
Hey Caitlyn, If you had taken your lunch what would you have made? For me it's so hard to travel because I end up just buying chips and I do travel quite often. Do you have any tips for when you travel to a place where there are not so many vegan options? Like a hotel? Thank you! Love your videos btw
I've always done this oatmeal hack until recently they started charging you something like 3 Euros for a tiny cup of boiling water on some flights... like what the heck?
Aahhh Caitlin I was just in Miami! Do you have any recommendations for vegan restaurants I should be on the look out for? I'll probably be coming back next year and would like to have a proper plan in place, this year I was sort of flying by the seat of my pants and had to scramble to find food that I could eat. Luckily there was stuff around Bayside that I could edit enough that I didn't break my diet. Love your videos!
Hey! Question about audible.. when you're out and about listening to a book, does that use data/wifi? Or do you basically download it and it's good to go?
what kind of oats do you use? they look similar to my scottish oats but don't know if i can just use hot water like you would with instant oats? also do you just put all you snacks through security? I don't feel good about the idea of putting them through radiation but i guess the airplane food is already radiated as well. I have to little girls a toddler and an infant so I'm so extra cautious. we are planning our first trip with them and I am new to veganism so getting ideas :)

And just WOW at your skin....... so amazing. Skin goals

Awww I just realized im a bit late to say this but your hair is sooo cutee this way 💕
thank you :)
Wow!! Please share how you cooked refried beans in the instant pot! That looks amazing!!
Its from High Carb Hannahs instant pot ebook! She mentioned it before in a past video. I make those beans all the time, they're absolutely amazing!!!
Katie is right!
definitely second the water thing, especially when traveling while (get ready to offend people with anatomy) menstruating. it made my flow soo much lighter. being so high up in the air can also dehydrate your skin, and going to areas with extreme climates can also dehydrate your skin. to say the least, its super important.
Good to know flying dries skin out. I already struggle with dry skin as it is. Im flying in May. Hydration and moisturizer!
Your videos have such an amazing vibe! Def my faves!
aw thank you, that is so sweet of you to say :)
This is so helpful, I was literally going to search for a video like this because I'm flying from London to Canada in a few weeks and needed some ideas of food to bring for the flight! Thank you :)

I will add that to my list, I think it's a great idea :)
There's a ton of solo trip videos on youtube for people on a budget.
Just before I go on a trip I like to stock something in my freezer like a chili or a stew so when I come back I have food ready for me! This is especially great if you've flown long haul and are jetlagged.
you look like such a natural filming in public-go you!!!
Lol the little buggy guy on the lid when your making the oat jar. Cutie
I always look forward to seeing your videos! I really like the what I eat in a day // meal prep videos you do. Good luck with school!

There was a little bug baby on the lid of the jar at 1:14 and I couldn't help but look at him going on his way when you were explaining
I enjoy your vids and love your personality. Good idea showing us how u eat when you travel

Where do you get the greens powder packets?! :)!
Could you please make some rice recipes? I never know how to make rice less bland. Maybe even some oil free sauces to put on it? idk I'm so lost.
I am flying to Cancun from MN in August I hope. I have not even gotten my flight organized but I am so nervous about food. This helps.
I really like your water bottle! Where's it from?
It's by the brand "Healthy Human Life"
just love the video! I'm going to Patagonia in a few days and I'm planning to bring a lot of food. I think my bag will be 90% food 10% clothes hahahahahah

Turmeric rice! I need this recipe!! Also, do you have a recipe for you ipot re-fried beans?
Can you do a video about like how you packed for traveling on a plane? That's really a challenge and I would like to see how you packed for you Cali trip?
Everything looked so good. I love the tips you gave for traveling. I'm always so afraid to bring food with me because I think they might take it lol. Also, did you make your refried beans from dry beans?
about the bottle - be aware that you won't always be allowed to bring bottles that hold more than 100ml, even if empty, through security!
6:14 Lady in blue - "Check out the weird girl with her camera."
Lady in pink - *looks over* "Omg you're right."
We appreciate the vlogging in public! People need to get over it. It's really not weird lol. At least you're not on snap chat opening your mouth or sticking our your tongue or something ha.
You're allowed to bring a jar of oats on the plane? I'm afraid the airport will throw it out 😭 Oregon airports are pretty strict where I am.
Can you do a recipe video on the refried beans please!!!
THE VIBES😍
Hey Caitlyn,
If you had taken your lunch what would you have made? For me it's so hard to travel because I end up just buying chips and I do travel quite often. Do you have any tips for when you travel to a place where there are not so many vegan options? Like a hotel? Thank you! Love your videos btw
I'd love to see your Yoga routine or a video about yoga in general :)
I love your hair😍
I've always done this oatmeal hack until recently they started charging you something like 3 Euros for a tiny cup of boiling water on some flights... like what the heck?
Caitlin I loved this video!!! Super helpful!! What brand is your mushroom tea by?
It's the "Reishi Elixir" by Four Sigmatic
Your skin is perfect omg I'm jealous
Are there any other teas you recommend to have before bed?
Please, how to make refry beans?:) thank you
Hey Caitlin! I was wondering what brand of water bottle you have? Thanks!!
How & where do u find some of the food u get for ur menus? How do u get these things a lil cheaper bc some of them r really expensive.
Can you tell me where you got that cute sticker on the back of your phone? I'd love to get one as well
Aahhh Caitlin I was just in Miami! Do you have any recommendations for vegan restaurants I should be on the look out for? I'll probably be coming back next year and would like to have a proper plan in place, this year I was sort of flying by the seat of my pants and had to scramble to find food that I could eat. Loving your short hair!
Hey! Question about audible.. when you're out and about listening to a book, does that use data/wifi? Or do you basically download it and it's good to go?
You download it first :) You could stream it too I believe but I wouldnt recommend that!
You can also ask the plane for s full water bottle :)
Love your videos!
Be careful getting your water on a plane. Also dont ever get ice when on a plane.
Casey Conner why? just curious :)
The water on the plane always tastes really funny... Something definitely off about it.
Does greens powder taste ok? Or is it obvious in your food and such
what kind of oats do you use? they look similar to my scottish oats but don't know if i can just use hot water like you would with instant oats? also do you just put all you snacks through security? I don't feel good about the idea of putting them through radiation but i guess the airplane food is already radiated as well. I have to little girls a toddler and an infant so I'm so extra cautious. we are planning our first trip with them and I am new to veganism so getting ideas :)
That was great ♡ when traveling , do you find yourself going to the same stores or differnt .
can show how to make the dinner please
You always have great music! Do you have a Spotify account?
where did you get your water bottle from??? I want one
