I'm going to do all of them because I do most of them anyway. I will however simplify my meals. I love your simplicity. I want to adopt that more. I just re-watched the video and wrote down your 10 hacks and realized that I just have to adopt your rolling prep system, choose 3-4 weightloss dinners and move more and I've got this! Already went through the fail phase so I'm sure I will again however I'm pressing on. Thanks ChelseaMae. Love your content! 😍
A video idea is to do a session with somebody new that wants to start to implement this things into their lifes and see what kind of barriers there are and help that person out. I get the tips but finds it hard to how to implement them into my life.
I feel embarrassed to say, while I am not really struggling with my weight (I lost over 80lbs and have kept if off for over ten years), but I have always struggled with hunger. In the past month, I’ve added (more) potatoes and find myself *needing* my evening snack less and less. Thanks for the life hack 🥔🍠💪🏻
Chelsea since watching your recent vids, I now boil potatoes in the morning while I make my porridge 🥔🥔 I then either snack on them instead of something processed or add them to my dinner later. Game changer 💚
Been binging your videos this week! Been on a several month plateau, and finally breaking it. Your habits and simplicity are life changing. Your positivity and grit to keep pushing towards your goals is admirable, thank you for sharing your story and knowledge. ✨👏
I love seeing this. I've been on a very low carb diet with intermittent fasting and have gotten fantastic results. I've been documenting it here on UA-cam, and in doing so find it so interesting to watch other people's weight loss journeys. It sounds like you did almost the opposite of the diet I have been doing and kept it off! That's amazing. It just goes to show how all sorts of plans can work super well for different people. Potatoes are my all time favorite food...any form.
Thank you for another awesome video. I've screen shot all 10 hacks, pinned it up and will incorporate it into my meals, exercise and lifestyle for my December plan. I'm very optimistic about this even though I've been a yo yo dieter all my life. I just want to get back to my fitter and leaner self from 1 ago.
Boy oh boy, I needed to hear all this again! I love how you focus on doing things that make life easier. I'm going to focus on the store bought hummus and eating potatoes and a veggie at every lunch and dinner. I love your opinion on weighing. I thrive on weighing myself regularly. In the past, on various group programs, the rule was to not weigh more than once a week, and that drove me crazy. I just like and need the feedback. I don't mind seeing the fluctuations.
I was diagnosed with heart failure last week and my first lifestyle change is my diet. I've eaten a 75% vegan diet for the past year (I occasionally use cheese and butter) but its included all the Impossible and Beyond meat substitutes which I know aren't super healthy. I'm switching over to beans, legumes, tofu and tempeh as my main protein sources. I've also decided to stop counting macros and trust my hunger cues for a while. My 1lb of veggies will probably be cabbage, it's so versatile!
Chucking sweet juicy fruit (e.g. sweet orange, mango, etc.) into a salad (along with a little bit of avocado (e.g. 1/4) if you're OK with it) plus fresh herbs can create a sort of dressing just by tossing the salad.
Love to listen and refocus with videos like this please keep making more of this content!! It helps keep me on track! Thank you so much for all your knowledge!! I also was wondering if you would ever consider making a video on how you implement the atomic habits into your business routines. I’ve learned so much from how you have implemented with diet and would be super interested to see some business examples personal to you!
Great tips Chelsea. I am skinny fat and desperately trying to loose these last 5kg. Will give it a try. By the way how many g of protein do you consume more or less. Thanks for all the motivation and tips. You look great!
Oats always makes me feel starved a while after eating 🥣 never had that full feeling on oats, i know oats its for some a big hunger trigger. I eat greek fat free yoghurt insted and feel much better and not starved. Great video 👍🏼
Love 🥰 this awesome video Chelsea and eat lots of vegetables including potatoes and avoid oil as much as possible. I prefer whole plant foods over oil. Love 💕 Chelsea & family.
I am struggling with this AGAIN. I've lost 50-60lbs probably 10 times in my lifetime. The last time I started fasting. Fasting was amazing and I felt great but keto high fat low carb made me feel not so great. Then binging started and derailed everything after keeping weight off for 2 yrs. 4 yrs later and I gained it all back. (thankfully not more.) I ended up doing eating disorder treatment. If only I had added healthy carbs. I've been sidelined with a knee problem for the last yr, but I am ready to get back on track. I do a lot of vegetables already, doing the blueprint diet a lot, making a lot of soups, beans and lentils. Giving up olive oil with that may be tough. Starting with oats daily, then potatoes. Then tofu meal prep. I've done every type of diet except, meat. No meat for 37 yrs, so I can't wait to make tofu like you do.
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos they are so uplifting. I struggle with consistency due to my mental health and AUDHD so this really helps and I'm going to try these. God bless 🙏💗
I have a dilemma in my household where i am trying to maintain weight loss and gain muscle so i eat a lot of veggies and try to keep a lower calorie density. My wife on the other hand is someone who struggles to gain weight and is an athlete so she is very active and sometimes becomes underweight so she is trying to have a higher calorie density and includes oil and processed food in her diet to try and keep her weight in a healthy range. She also hates soup & oatmeal while i love them so there are times where i make those just for me. I am also 100% vegan and she is not, probably about 75% plant based. We've made it work but its definitely been a challenge.
That was very helpful, thank you! I especially need to drastically reduce oil, I think. I don‘t really struggle with my weight but I have noticed that I am putting on extra pounds over time, like 2 a year (I am 47), and I want that to stop before it adds up too much.
I actually really appreciate the repetitive content. I need the reminder that i am overcomplicating eating again and am making it too hard. You keep saying simplify and i need to hear it every time. Also, for sauce i just make potato and nutritional yeast "cheese" or thin out some hummus gor a dressing
I use Needlers grocery (in the states) hot salsa on salads and veggies instead of oil or dressing it's hot salsa so revs metabolism and only 10 calories per tablespoon plus you get loads of flavor and extra veggies
Love your videos Chelsea!! You are so helpful. I follow most of your top 10, but i definitely need to move more. I've lost 30 pounds but need to lose 40 more and it's a bit of a struggle. But i keep pushing on 😊
I like dressing and I make them . Vinegars or lemon juice or verjuice soy mirin and a teaspoon of oil . I don't like mayo and dressings in jars from the supermarket like salad cream or thousand Island... shudder . Hummus is great and so is mashed avocado with lemon juice salt and pepper
WOW! Good tips. Thank you! Fail faster?! I've never heard that before now.....I'm Implementing a few of these starting tomorrow especially the 'Fail faster'. ❤
I’m gonna put it all into action because I’ve been doing a potato reset my problem is I’m almost 60 and besides my part-time mail route getting in and out of my van I’m not very active due to some health problems back problems, more or less and muscle skeletal issues according to my scalemy body only needs 1300 cal a day so to be deficient is hard to have three meals😢
Wooo! Just noticed you're over 100k subscribers here now! That is what consistency will do! Super proud of you! And still loving all of your videos, five years later!
Thank you for this video. I really want to try it! I did tried once a salad but without oil it was awful 😖 too crunchy and tasteless. Is there a better option than hummus? And a soup, without oil? Can you show how you do this? Thank you so much 💖
Hi chelseamae, thank you so much for ya amazing videos out of all the people I watch on here , I relate to you the most 😁 as a woman of 50 going through per menopause does all the same Principles apply? I'm in a house of meat eaters trying to break out to plant base and am finding it hard to maintain!! but your videos are helping a lot 😁
Hi! I’m also in a family of meat eaters and in post-menopause - Chelsea’s tips work amazingly for me! Give it a try and enjoy those big plates of colorful food 😊
Ok, so oatmeal daily, more activity, get those non starchy veggies in, give up dressings for a hummus 60 cal/tbsp or less, lay off the vegan meats, hmmmm.. I may have to watch this a few times. 🥰
This is all great advice aside from the fear mongering about oil. On a calorific basis you’re correct but fats and oils are absolutely essential for the maintenance of basic health, especially for women. Oils (olive oil especially but seed oils, dairy, nuts as well)- are integral to normal brain and hormonal function. Be mindful of how much you are using for your weight loss journey if that’s your goal folks but please absolutely do not cut out fat (especially healthy fats such as OLIVE OIL).
I love overnight oats , I measure my oats because I’m trying portion control here and I do add fruit nuts and seeds and protein powder as well , I don’t feel hungry after and easily make it past lunch time no problems , I enjoy Greek salads at dinner time with a meat proteins such as chicken , fish , steak etc , those are portion controlled as well and I’m cutting fat and oils butters all that high calorie stuff gone , now the naughty foods for snacks is my down fall , I go really good for a while then I cave in and yet I eat pretty good other than that , so annoying.
Japanese sweet potato’s aren’t easily or cheaply available in my area. I can see why you can stick to potatoes so much if they are the bulk that you’re eating. They don’t need anything additional to eat them. Our white and yellow potatoes are so dry that I need a bunch of ketchup or ‘cheese’ sauce to get them down.
All of these hacks help to create an easy system where one can eat high nutrition, stay in a deficit, and still feel full. But I doesn't help me because I still crave to binge on junk food, even if im not hungry.
Love so many practical tips! Especially the rolling prep system, the full Sunday meal prep is such a pain in the butt to get right but this seems so much more actionable and doesn't completely take over the kitchen for a full day a week. P.S. sauté like "saw-tay", not satay like peanut butter... took me a long time to figure that one out (also li-berry instead of library lol)
good reminders. l have been doing tom and bbq sauce for a long time l thought l waa cheating every one makes their own .l was too lazy and they used nuts in them which are high fat so thought brought sauces have a bit of fat but not as much as nuts. lol l have to start buying hummas to make things easier..thanks for the tips
Comparing the calories in potatoes to those in ice cream makes no sense to me. Logical alternatives to potatoes (in the way most people in my region eat) would be rice, pasta, bulgur, bread etc. I never thought "Should I eat my broccoli together with potatoes or Ben & Jerry's?".
I think it's mainly to counteract many people who sort of include these both in the "carbs to cut" category of dieting. They will say cut out sugar, processed snacks, rice, potatoes, focus on protein and veggies. While putting them together in the same category is completely wrong. Cut out processed sugary snacks, don't cut out potatoes. If you prefer rice, you go for it and stick with rice instead! According to the science data rice is a little less satiating but if it works for you, that's great, you do you!
Which of these 10 hacks are you going to give a try?
I'm going to do all of them because I do most of them anyway. I will however simplify my meals. I love your simplicity. I want to adopt that more. I just re-watched the video and wrote down your 10 hacks and realized that I just have to adopt your rolling prep system, choose 3-4 weightloss dinners and move more and I've got this! I have been doing all of it but the top is the rolling prep. I am a busy working mom and it works great for me. I need to work on my dressings 😊
Do you eat rice and pasta? And yes decision paralysis I get that!
@@loro9329she eats both in the vid! But half the plate is veg to balance it out

Omg I've been doing the same too!! 😊
You always tell us the hard truth..thanks you brave person!!
I make a dressing with soy milk, potato and spices! Easy peasy and delicious. Just a tblsp. is enough for a huge salad.
Will try this combination. Never heard of this before. Thanks.

How frustrating and difficult😥, not being able to eat potatoes if they’re your favourite food coz you’re low carb.

I take notes 📝 That salad dressing is a good point and I will not use it anymore. Also I will use these all tips 🤩
I make creamy dressings/mayo with silken tofu as the base, and just add spices/herbs, and lemon juice or vinegar.

The woollies brand non fat salad dressings, both French and Balsamic, are 13 calories for 20g tablespoon. And delicious.
I just ordered the things to make overnight oats for breakfast!
Carleigh Bodrug’s PlantYou cookbook is great with all oil-free recipe ideas. I use her oil free hummus recipe all the time and it’s so good!

Love your vids, v helpful advice! Just wondering your reasons for being vegan (I am too) and sorry if you’ve already mentioned it!
Do you take any supplements to make sure you fry everything vegans miss out on ? Did you ever deal with hair shedding
