Great chat! The first time I ever met Jasmine, we were in an airport and she had this GIANT tub of watermelon and I was so surprised the TSA didn't take it away haha. Your tips for bringing food on airplanes is super helpful :)
Lol I do the potato thing too! I brought a small container of baked potato slices and was eating them on a redeye flight. The guy next to me was giving me weird looks haha
I need to travel with you guys one day so that I know I'm not the only one who brings plain oats and baked sweet potatoes with me when I travel. SO GOOD! Love you ladies and I have that shirt Caitlin! No one here in China get's the pun, but I still love it:)
omg i get stopped by TSA all the time too except I am terrible and bring stuff like soup haha. they usually just look at me funny and tell me not to do it again...but that doesn't stop me, i'm hungry ;)
Hey! I really enjoy your videos :) I can relate to most of what you said! And I do enjoy plain food, love me some plain sweet potato! Big hug from Portugal
I literally bought mini sweet potatoes to a senior retreat and ate them instead of the chips and cookies that were served during snack time. People looked at me like I was nuts but I was just so happy with them because they tasted soooooo good 😗🍠💗
I have all this expensive oil omg so many varieties and I don't want to throw it out so I will be using much more sparingly. I love the taste oil gives food but just invested in a non stick pot set that allows for so much less. So I am still learning so much. Thanks girls
ah this is sooo relevant rn because im on a trip to New York with my university acapella group and i had to accommodate! there was NOTHING at the restaurant last night that was remotely vegan or oil free (couldn't even do plain veg and baked potatoes) so I went to the store, and bought potatoes, steamed veggies, and oats & fruit for the morning! there's no fridge and one microwave in the entire hotel but you gotta do what u gotta do! tryna work with what I have :-)
I love your videos!!! I started my vegan journey back in 2014 but for whatever reason it was very hard to stick to it when I was pregnant with my son. A lot has gone on since then and I am just starting to get back to vegan slowly but surely. I feel like everything happens for a reason and falling off the "vegan wagon" for the last few years I feel was just a small bump in the road for my journey! I really love your channel and you have a lot of great ideas for vegans if you are tired of eating the same things or needing more flavorful savory meals!! Also would you be able to do more Aldi hauls including what you would eat for a week? That would be so helpful as I shop there as well. Thank you so much for putting up these helpful videos and giving me the validation that my intuition is correct in getting back to my vegan journey!!!! 😃🙌🏼💕💕💕
The easiest thing when on a trip or traveling is just going on google, typing in the city or area, add the word "vegan" and it does the exact same thing!
Vegan Ambition I think the app requires data, too :/ The best thing would be to do it where you have wifi! Maybe at a starbucks for example; since you know where you're traveling most of the time! :)
How did you get the pretty logo at the beginning of your video! I have been trying to "brand" my channel. BTW love your videos! You are a positive soul for sure
i ask out of curiosity, not out of accusation, but just wondering how various 'green' powders i've seen you use is different from oil, with respect to eating a whole food? thanks and love your vids :D
OMG! We must be soulmates! I also love simple food, even if people looks weird at me, I just don´t care anymore.. If I want to eat boiled potatoes why should anyone care ?! :) I even bring some nooch seeds and moringa powder :))
I never caught that you live in Miami! Have you ever been to Bunnie Cakes Bakery? I absolutely love that place for vegan sweets whenever I feel like eating out for dessert :)
Personally I think coconut oil is kind of worse...for some reason coconut oil is super trendy in the "health conscious" community, but no research really shows that it is better for you (I talked to my friend about this who is studying to become an RD and she agrees with me). Also, coconut oil is mostly saturated fat, which is the BAD kind of fat shown to have negative health consequences. I use coconut oil for oil pulling, hair masks, moisturizer, and makeup remover, but I try to avoid eating it for those reasons
Caitlin Shoemaker Saturated fat is only bad because it's associated with animal products. Oil isn't healthy but the Saturated fats in coconut are so good and nurturing for you. And I notice that when I use coconut milk daily I'm slimmer and my hair and skin is naturally better! 😸
Kanchan Kumar I have non stick pans that help but certain foods need oil to prevent sticking and burning. I've tried water before, not much help. Thank you though.
Its a great video but one thing: Im from Hungary, if Im traveling its from Slovakia Airport, and we can not take ANY food to the plane. At the first security check you have to trow away everything. Fruit, oats, sendwiches, granola bar or anything.
cinayxo I've only just recently become a vegetarian and so far I haven't even craved any meat. I don't feel like I'm missing out. I feel a lot healthier because I don't depend on meat to fill myself up so I have to eat more fruits and veggies. The hardest part is figuring out new recipes and what to eat at restaurants, but even that's not too bad :)
Kamila M trader joes has a few dried fruit option that has nothing added. I love the dried mango. the only ingrediants on the back is mango. it's great
Do you drink actual coffee or is it unhealthy ? :D My sister and I always get judged with our vegan lifestyle, it's so annoying, people are so uneducated about it :( Love you girls! 💕
Deer Caitlin, I am here to say, that your obsession over oil has had a negative effect on some people (including me). I have anxiety about the way food is prepared, and my family are driving me crazy about it. I have finally realised that oil is fine. You have a lot of power as a UA-camr... please distribute it away from something as petty as oil. Anyone else agree??
8 minutes of talking about eating oil free...... oh boy. Stick to the recipe videos please. I'm pretty sure you two are the only people that are so stressed about eating oil.

Looove this Caitlin! So happy to see Jasmine on here too. You're the bestttt. xo

Great tips. Especially the oatmeal in the airport.

ouu i've always followed jasmine on insta but didn't know she had a youtube channel!!!
I just looove watchibg your videos. You're always so Happy and posetive! ❤
Hey! I really enjoy your videos :)

The fact that I am watching this while eating a plain potato with ketchup...hahaha you are not alone Caitlin! :)
Eating oatmeal as I watch this hehe :) Love you cuties x
KFC ad before your vid - can't get more ironic than that haha :D But the video was on point - I love you both
oh man :( I wish we could control those!
ah this is sooo relevant rn because im on a trip to New York with my university acapella group and i had to accommodate! there was NOTHING at the restaurant last night that was remotely vegan or oil free (couldn't even do plain veg and baked potatoes) so I went to the store, and bought potatoes, steamed veggies, and oats & fruit for the morning! there's no fridge and one microwave in the entire hotel but you gotta do what u gotta do! tryna work with what I have :-)
when you talked about just eating simple potatoes and ketchup it was one of the most relatable things i've ever heard XP
YAY I love eating plain potatoes and ketchup! haha
I love your videos!!! I started my vegan journey back in 2014 but for whatever reason it was very hard to stick to it when I was pregnant with my son. Did you say mushroom coffee?
Yeah! It's by four sigmatic, it's coffee with mushroom powders in it!
Hailey Nicole wonder if it taste like mushroom
Sounds so good:)
The easiest thing when on a trip or traveling is just going on google, typing in the city or area, add the word "vegan" and it does the exact same thing!
what if you dont have any data!
Vegan Ambition I think the app requires data, too :/ The best thing would be to do it where you have wifi! Maybe at a starbucks for example; since you know where you're traveling most of the time! :)
I love you guys so much! I'm trying to it healthy too and try to eat the good fat from the food. You recomend any brand for nuts butter ?
Short hair looks sooo good on you!!!
How did you get the pretty logo at the beginning of your video! I have been trying to "brand" my channel. BTW love your videos! You are a positive soul for sure
Looovvvveeeee the hair!
this is literally the question i needed answering in my last video so this is perfectly useful :L
i ask out of curiosity, not out of accusation, but just wondering how various 'green' powders i've seen you use is different from oil, with respect to eating a whole food? thanks and love your vids :D

Is using coconut oil equally as bad?
Personally I think coconut oil is kind of worse...for some reason coconut oil is super trendy in the "health conscious" community, but no research really shows that it is better for you (I talked to my friend about this who is studying to become an RD and she agrees with me). Also, coconut oil is mostly saturated fat, which is the BAD kind of fat shown to have negative health consequences. I use coconut oil for oil pulling, hair masks, moisturizer, and makeup remover, but I try to avoid eating it for those reasons
Caitlin Shoemaker What would you suggest for cooking something that could stick to your frying pan?
Caitlin Shoemaker Saturated fat is only bad because it's associated with animal products. Oil isn't healthy but the Saturated fats in coconut are so good and nurturing for you. And I notice that when I use coconut milk daily I'm slimmer and my hair and skin is naturally better! 😸
You could use water instead! A non-stick pan is an amazing investment :)
This was so helpful thanks!
Any tips for a vegan with perioral dermatitis on antibiotics, what to eat and put on the face pls?
Love ya guys! Best girls x
Are you against the sugar in vegan yogurt? (such as forager project or kite hill)
Nah, I don't eat it every day but I don't mind it when I do eat it!
My favourite vegan yogurt has like 14g... but I'm trying to allow myself to have it now and again too. ☺
Love your new hair style
i just love ya so much caitlin. you're everything right for the world and i wish i could be like you❤
Woah Caitlin when were you in Argentina?
You both are so cute but I can't keep watching you picking holes into your oatmeal and eating like a turtle 😂❤️ but that video was very helpful👍🏻
What do you use as a sub for oil (when cooking stuff like veggies)
Geneva Moreland you can sauté veggies in a bit of water, works just fine :)
Hanna K just started doing that and works great.
And if you want more flavour, try veggie broth :)
Do you remember some vegan restaurant in Argentina that you liked? I'm from there so I'd love to know your opinion!
I live in southeastern KY in a small city that no one knows exists and happy cow has zilch lol xo Davita
Vegan girls are the cutest..ugh must be the glow
what about me!
I am hoolahooping but I think it's okay to watch it😉 haven't had breaky tho
i love this!! i was wondering, would you consider tahini an oil or a fat in its natural form? or like a hybrid? lol thanks!
tahini is just blended sesame seeds, I use it all the time! It's just like peanut or almond butter :)
when did you go to argentina??
mushrooms in 'coffee'? i love teacino
was that pineapple in your oatmeal?
Okay so I'm not vegan but I'm heavily considering going vegetarian . I would like know how to get used to a no meat diet & is it hard to transition ?
cinayxo I've only just recently become a vegetarian and so far I haven't even craved any meat. I don't feel like I'm missing out. I feel a lot healthier because I don't depend on meat to fill myself up so I have to eat more fruits and veggies. The hardest part is figuring out new recipes and what to eat at restaurants, but even that's not too bad :)
To maintain the dry fruit the way it is a lot of sugar is added. So I don't dry fruits are such a healthy option
Kamila M trader joes has a few dried fruit option that has nothing added. I love the dried mango. the only ingrediants on the back is mango. it's great
Really? Interesting . I didn't know that but thanks for the info!
Do you drink actual coffee or is it unhealthy ? :D
My sister and I always get judged with our vegan lifestyle, it's so annoying, people are so uneducated about it :(
Love you girls! 💕
I could easily live off potatoes forever. :P Whenever I batch cook potatoes, they never last as long as I plan for them to...

Hell, I just watch you cuz ur beautiful af I swear ur really pretty👌
Do you drink alcohol? What are your views on that?

Uhm having potato junks with literally nothing but ketchup is LIFFFEEEE
potato junks mannnnn
Deer Caitlin,
I am here to say, that your obsession over oil has had a negative effect on some people (including me). I have anxiety about the way food is prepared, and my family are driving me crazy about it. I have finally realised that oil is fine. You have a lot of power as a UA-camr... please distribute it away from something as petty as oil. Anyone else agree??
♡
mmmmm sweet potatoes
Oil-free, why? I think this is not healthy, because a women needs good fat and oil is a good Option
8 minutes of talking about eating oil free...... oh boy. Stick to the recipe videos please. I'm pretty sure you two are the only people that are so stressed about eating oil.
