Hey guys thanks for all your support!!! And thanks for the birthday wishes.
I addressed concerns down below (for my detractors)
1.) I understand why you are defensive in the comment section. But the truth hurts, I won’t be apologizing or changing my stance
2.) I can tell a lot of yall didn’t watch the full video or heard what you wanted to hear because I said “non- textured weaves” so many times
    3. I won’t be responding to your paragraphs in the comment section
Wish you the best on this journey!! Thank you for you interest on the topic.
Thank you to all my supporters. I will have natural hair representation in all videos and more content to come ❤

I've been a natural from birth, never relaxed, never wore a buss down.
I have self h8ing black women at work, tell me i NEED a, i quote "a 30 inch buss town" while she caresses the hair hat on her head.
Im shamed or looked at weird for having natural hair while im drowning in a sea of wigs, constantly telling me i "need" a wig
Thank God i grew up with positive reinforcement of my hair from my family and community in my home country, if i didnt have that base, i would of given in.

I grew up the same way, however I’ve tried relaxers for 3 years (huge set back). I’m back to my natural hair and it’s obviously better. I don’t like straight hair on myself because I have lower density & fine hair. I have tried a sew-in weave, I hated it (you don’t have access to your scalp and it’s heavy/bulky feeling). I don’t recommend it at all.
Don’t let peoples comments change your views. Covering up our natural beauty only leads to more problems down the road. Be a great example of natural harmonious beauty.

White boomer lady here . I grew up in an integrated school . In grade school the black girls had straightened hair , some natural . In the 60’s , there was a move to going natural with the Black Pride movement . My yearbook is full of photos of the prettiest young black women with natural hair . No disrespect but I have always felt that black women were doing themselves no favors with all of these unnatural wigs . You can’t help but shine in your natural hair .

I hid my hair in braids, wigs, and weaves for years. It was only when a perm finally broke my hair off that I decided to make a change. I'm so happy we're acknowledging that alot of the self hate is actually developed by us. I can remember my mom asking did I really want to walk outside looking like "that" when I wore my hair naturally. But now, after 3 years, she's gone natural too! It's because their perception is warped by pedestalizing European beauty standards. It's the same reason why many people will call a woman with blonde straight hair and blue eyes "pretty" automatically even if she's VERY unattractive. The only people who can see that she's unattractive are the people who broke out of the self hate matrix. I know it sounds crazy, but the BW who thinks she looks best in a straight wig sees with different eyes than the BW who unlearned those European beauty standards as being the "default".

If you want to or have to wear wigs these days, it does not always have to be straight hair (there are even kinky-straight wigs).

I have always thought that wigs and weaves make us look older. I told my sisters years ago to stop wearing fake hair, but she was offended. I am 46 and I have never worn weaves, wigs or braids. I haven't had a relaxer in over 15 years. My mother started putting relaxers in my hair at an early age, but 15 years ago, I completely stopped the relaxers and my scalp feels amazing. Far too long we have believed the lie that we have bad hair and that it's difficult to manage. Without that horrible relaxer my hair is full, glossy and beautiful. I have never had permanent color either. I swim several days per week and my hair is still healthy. I am a healthcare clinician and I encounter so may BW in my practice who are suffering with alopecia and irritant contact dermatitis from these weaves and wigs. Also, I dislike seeing BW with all this blonde hair and long extensions to their butt. Stop the blonde and horsetails. We should be comfortable in our own skin, the way God created us.
BW, be the original you and let your natural beauty shine.

Recently I was taken aback when I was receiving compliments and pleasant interactions with people because they liked seeing my natural hair and how I had it styled.l In the moment I wasn’t thinking about my hair, I was going about life, but what stood out to me was how genuine and kind and well meaning the compliments were. How could I respond with an attitude? Even though it broke my train of thought or whatever, I could tell that when I responded in kind they were happy and I was happy lol.

Imagine if wypipo wore 4c wigs en masse like they’re fooling somebody. I almost never see a BW not wearing a straight hair wig. We must look like we have collective mental illness or we’re obsessed with another group and what THEY have. I think we have unfortunately bought fully into euro beauty standards. It would be pretty cool to see a 180 in the black community. I’m here for it.

Awe I'm so glad I can help! Remember don't push yourself too much on your weight lost journey, so it doesn't come back fast
      Some Tips
1.) eat 2-3 different types of veggies with your dinner
-For example, instead of having Just zucchini do zucchini, mushrooms and Leeks. (don't be afraid to try new veggies, it will make it new and exciting)
-steam your veggies instead of pan frying them!!
2.) Try some different cuisines. I don't know your ethnicity, but soul food isn't the healthiest... I would Ethiopian food (for example) Because they use a lot of veggies in their cooking
3.) Precut some carrots and force yourself to eat them lol. I have to force myself to eat carrots lol so I understand
      4.) water, water, water
If you don't like water buy itself
You can add almost all fruits in a jar of water...let it sit overnight and bam Flavored water
      my favorite combo
      Cucumber, ginger, lemon
      grapefruit, cucumber
      Okra
also make sure your digestion system is running properly!!
      Okra Water
Look up watermelon flavored okra water....(Game changer)
5.) Go on your walks and don't be afraid to start small being consistent is the most important
6.) Make your food at home...even if its unhealthy it will be less calories

Don’t look at eating healthier as “ going on a diet”, but rather changing your diet. Change your relationship with food. Eat foods that actually give your body what it needs and you will notice cravings decrease. Also try intermittent fasting, that has helped me ALOT. Be patient with yourself. Find ways to become active. At work, I take the stairs now instead of the elevator. Document and journal. You can get a weight loss/ calorie counter app just to keep track of what your and document your progress. Make it fun. Have variety with what you eat. You can do it!!!!❤

It took some getting used to at first but I became obsessed with it I felt like I had to constantly keep up with it and I would get paranoid when I would see my roots start to grow. It got to a point tho that no matter what I tried my hair was just damaged. It went from being long, silky and straight to always looking dry and frizzy and tangled. After I got pregnant I decided to stop dying my hair I hated how the overgrown roots looked until I cut it off once it was long enough. Now my hair looks soft and shiny again. I don’t know why I relied so much on being blond to feel good about how I looked but once I got that haircut I remembered how pretty I felt being a brunette. Definitely made me appreciate my natural hair so much more! ❤

I agree with everything you said and would take it a step further by saying, people who claim to identify with the opposite sex have gender blindness because their clothes and their actual physique is incongruent. So imagine being shocked at your natural hair once removing a wig. They must feel this tenfold or maybe not because they are deluding themselves. Anyway, our scalps and follicles need to breath which they can do with extensions at least but full on wigs and the lace glues etc. not only deprive our heads of much needed oxygen but also excerbate baldness (losing edges) and further, can create infections and stagnation in the area. Even naturals need to remember to massage their scalps, comb & brush something that is neglected when one has coils.

I’m so glad this popped up in my feed. I’ve never considered the term “wig blindness” but it’s true - we would prefer to wear an old wig or a wig that doesn’t sit properly over our natural hair. True beauty is in self-acceptance and confidence.
You are beautiful and it shines from within too.✨

Natural hair frames black womens’ features perfectly. It’s looks beautiful 100% of the time. No matter how expensive the wig they always make a woman look cheap.

Ever since I started wearing my hair in its completely natural state (No protective styling, I just wear it how it falls) I BY FAR feel way more confident and get SO many compliments! I never realized how pretty my natural hair was or how much better I looked with it. I have very full features and have always hated that I could never find a protective style that made my face look less square-y but lo and behold I wear my natural hair and it frames my face incredibly well and now I feel way happier with my appearance! The irony of the phrase "What you're looking for is right in front of you" is definitely not lost on me!❤ Thank you for what you're doing, you actually gave me the idea to wear my hair out from your face shape videos!

I absolutely agree!!!! I have been natural for the last 5 years, and what's CRAZY is that when I tried to go back to straightened wigs, I HATED the way it shaped my face! I also LOVE the organic styles I can do with natural and natural-looking hair texture! I will never go back!❤❤❤

Your channel makes me feel beautiful. I’ve always worn my hair natural. I’m slowly getting back to it. I am wearing braids now and I definitely need to stay away from lace fronts. Never used to wear them. I became obsessed. I’m glad that phase is over.

I was just talking about wig blindness to my sister the other day because we had seen this sister with a crazy shiny wig and couldn't believe she thought it looked good. Samantha cooker a UA-camr had the audacity to come online to say our natural hair does not look good on us while sporting a stringy flat wig against her very broad features. We have a major problem. Im in my 30s and was part of the first wave of the natural hair movement in the 2010s and then it turned into wigs which lead to the lace fronts. I believe you are much younger than me and I am extremely proud the younger generation has decided to embrace their hair even after their older sisters told them to hide it. We are beautifully made just as we are and we need to stop hiding it.

Great video! There’s something to be said about the positive impact having an Afro has on kids. I’ve worked in education for years and children NEED to see Black and mixed adults with afros. The amount of little black and mixed girls over the years that have smiled and told me that they like my hair because it looks like theirs is beautiful. Even the little boys giggle when they see we have a similar hairstyle. Us seeing our beauty helps the younger generation of girls and boys recognize their own. It’s so important for all of us to embrace everything God blessed us with. I agree with you, do wigs and weaves if you want but don’t get caught up and let it stop you from seeing your natural beauty. I only ever do braids with weave but I do them once or twice a year so I don’t forget to love on and proudly show my own hair.

As a Hispanic woman with naturally very curly hair I appreciate your video. I grew up feeling embarrassed of my coils bc my mom, sisters and friends had sleek straight hair. At 21i started started straightening my hair now 25 yrs later loosing hair due to lupus, I’m embracing my curls. I should have never straightened my hair.

I love your sweet energy! Happy Birthday sweet cancer babe💖 I subscribed! I just wanted to say I agree with everything you said! The mirror effect! I literally started curating my socials the day I finally went natural because I wanted all the nature black beauty around me. It's so uplifting and having the opposite can put you in a space of lack almost! People compliment my hair even on my bad hair days! Lol, and i'm sure it's the same for anybody wearing their natural hair freely. It was made for us. Point blank!
