Rift Valley is insane but to be fair i think its only just now seeing more play as more and more people begin to understand the game better. The biggest thing about a rift valley not played off of a pathfinder, is that it literally can slot in ANYWHERE on the grid that you can legally pull two lands apart and drop it in the middle of. I always thought for some reason, that you could only ever rift valley in whilst still adhering to the adjacent site you control rule but Jessie clarified this on a stream showcasing some game play footage on TTS and had to correct his opponent that the rift valley could go anywhere not just near sites he controlled at least one of. You enter vaults on purpose and draw 3 cards and skip your next turn. You cast courtesan and now each player controls the other on their next turn. A turn that you no longer have by all accounts as the Vaults made you skip it. So then is your opponent denied the ability to control you on your next turn since you skip it, or do they merely control you the next time it would be your turn unhindered by Courtesans effects? Makes you wonder right? LOL
For courtesan thais and vaults, vaults will skip the turn completely, acting as if it never existed meaning that you would control their next turn you could control. So you would skip your opponents turn and then your opponent would do your turn and then you would have the opportunity to do their turn. It's come up before 😅
Tadpole Pool is narrow by definition - needs 3 threshold to activate so have to be very heavy into water. Smokestacks can be really strong if you aren't playing (many) sites that have big effects. Shuts down Bottomless Pits and Great Walls and Free Cities (shut down a Roots once with it). Should be in every deck deep in Fire. Can also free up Pristine Paradise and Color of Outer Space. Without Threshold the Crossroads is only good for a Roots deck or if you are digging for a very specific site. Super narrow leaning to bad. Just slows you down too much due to threshold delay.
Smokestacks are great with 3-4 color decks because duel lands dont have any abilities but yeah i dont knkw why anyone would ever play it in a pathfinder deck?

'Sinkhole' also discourages an opponent to play a site in front of it for fear of you destroying it.

They ruled that courtesan Thai and vaults of Zulu do not work the way you want them to. Really pissed me off

It could also work pretty well as an extension from a cornerstone on the opponent's side of the board. Still very narrow use case though.

Pristine paradise is very bad btw. Artifacts and auras also turn it off so its very easy to stop
