Mia figuring out the Krenko guy was her friend Eric is still one of the heaviest laugh's I've given myself. Sometimes it's really hard to bring Krenko, Mob Boss up and still fit the theme of the video but I try my best.
I built a Kenrith deck that took all my Playgroups most popular commanders and threw them in the 99. It was a fun Avengers Assemble type deck where the whole point was to make them all work together and do cool weird unexpected synergies, and kill people with their retired commanders
I don't consider Jodah boring, but he is definitely pushed. The whole legend cascade gives you some game variety, but, it's definitely a kill on sight commander. Like about 8 of these on this list.
I love playing Arcades, the Strategist, nice to see him ranked A. On CuIts 3D there's even a custom deck holder for him with the tiny flags I'm thinking of getting for him since I love playing him so much.
I think that maybe you dropped the ball on this content. I mean, your criteria for the list was- 1. How fun it is to play, and 2- how fun it is to play against. How can Beezy be impartial when he doesn’t own half the decks, and judges solely off of fun to play against? Have you even played the commanders that find unfun to play against? And Mia’s like- I have this deck and it’s so much fun to play so it’s A tier, and this one is so boring to play against, so poop. Lmao. I feel like this list is very very biased and subjective. I’ve played and played against fair and reasonable versions of all of these commanders, and you couldn’t have gotten this more wrong. Edit- I’d just like to say that I love this channel and subscribe to it. My thoughts on this one definitely are not how I feel about almost all their other content. I do respect their knowledge and opinions of the game.
I feel like i gotta defend Miirym a bit - Why there is a huge gulf in rating between Miirym and Ur Dragon baffles me. I understand that Miirym is basically Ramp -> Play big dragons, which isn't exactly a complicated, or particularly varied strategy. But Ur dragon is just as linear, with fewer sub-themes that you can tack on when compared to miirym, Such as clones, ETB Abuses, or blink. Only thing you're left wondering with Big Ur is which dragons are in the deck, and what method they're using to Power them out. Not exactly a ton of variety there either.
To put it simply: Ur dragon is linear Miirym is exponential In addition to that there is a quite large ammouth of people, myself included, that think ignoring the legend rule is about as dumb as emminence.
I have an ur dragon deck. Someone in my pod has a miirym deck. I can beat him 4 out of 5 times because my dragons come out sooner and I have spells that miirym does not have like tutors(black), protection(white like teferis protection) and removal like swords to plowshares. Not only that but the dragons that have white and black in them are super powerful. Miirym does not have access to those creatures. Ancient gold dragon plus scourge of valkas/dragon tempest can outright end games on the spot.
Chatterfang is my favorite commander, the forest walk and ability to sac tokens to kill creatures and sac outlet on top of its main ability makes it so good and unique
I don’t have a Shorikai voltron deck, but I do have a reanimator one. It’s not a deck that abuses its ability, but once each turn is enough to discard the fatties. It used to have Niambi as the face but Shorikai is able to discard the fat nonlegends so I switched. It’s also limited in power to white’s bad reanimation cards, but it’s surprisingly consistent (probably thanks to shorikai’s insane card advantage even when it’s not built around haha)
My 2 favorite commanders aren't as popular as it used to be but I enjoy them nonetheless. Chainer, Nightmare Adapt is one of my favorites and I had him setup as a Wheel/Graveyard build where I love to disrupt plays so I can do mine more easier. My other favorite commander is Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and I have him built as a Dredge/Graveyard deck. Milling myself while I make bigger beefy boys for Jarad is always satisfying.
I really like playing Go-Shintai Gates and Shrines. Shrines are 5-color jank. Gates are 5-color jank. It makes for a fun combination. Throw in some enchantress staples, and the deck runs fine. You're either doing gate stuff or shrine stuff, and in either case you're doing somwthing you want to do.
Always blows my mind when people mention not swinging with Shorikai. It only takes 3 of the pilots, there's cards that can animate it, and the alt-commander from the pre-con, Kotori, is great for bringing that cost down. It lends it more to a "Vehicles Kindred" deck, and it's a blast. It makes me sad to see the fun play style reduced to a weird value engine.
Krenko was my first deck ever because goblins don’t cost much money, now I’ve fine tuned my Krenko deck to win on turn 5 on average. I guess I maybe took him too far lol 😝
I'm not sure what this is a tier list of. Fairness? Strength? Uniqueness? Seems the scale shifts with each consideration that doesnt take into consideration the bias of the hosts. Unless this was a Favorites tier list. That might make the most sense. Also, what counts as "boring" here? The criticism used for Edgar decks was that most don't play them straightforward enough but then Jodah and Chatterfang are too straightforward? Personally my favorite deck of all time is Go-Shintai because of how versatile it is and how easy it is to shift its power level up or down. And it has deck exclusive win-cons you wouldn't use anywhere else which is always a plus for me. Plus you can use quite a few alt win-cons that win without dealing any damage for pacifist games and that's a whole other level of play that no one else at the table has to adhere to, just another fun limit to try to win with that's possible with this commander. For anyone interested in commanders that didn't make it high on this list, play what you want! You might discover something you really really like 😁
Probably a tier list of how fun to unfun it is to play against. Most sweaty nerds are out here trying to be the king of the casuals instead of trying to cultivate a fun experience for the table. Jodah and Yuriko, for example, are shit to play against despite being enjoyed by the worst types of sweatlords.
Guys! Jodah could be fun! Just build him with lots of interactions, cheap legends (predominantly humans) and have fun! It's all about the direction you give him
I’ve built -Isshin -kenrith -atraxa -Esika I also started lists for -Edgar -lathril -chatterfang my friends in our playgroup have built -kaalia -wilhelt -animar -omnath -korvold -jodah -juriko -arcades -gishath -Krenko and we’ve had overlap where multiple of us build the same commanders
i used to play korvold, fae cursed king, and ran into the issue that i just wasnt at my friends power level, and i never played it because it wasnt fun to stomp. now i play korvold, gleeful glutton, and its a much fairer card that i still do demonic things in.
Mia and I had the same introduction to commander. First it was an Edgar, then a Kaalia. Sadly I took both apart. I do still have a mardu deck (Queen M) and definitely stay on the higher colour commanders like Mia. Although I have a mono colour commander for each and they are surprisingly powerful and usually fly completely under the radar (except my mono blue Braids - there be no flying under the radar with her) 😂
I also totally agree about Miirym. If I want to go smash and win on turn 6, I’ll play this deck. But I don’t get it out super often because while it really tickles my inner Timmy to have 20+ hasty dragons and swing, it’s quite linear and not my preferred gameplay
Hahah, yeah, second one EDH deck here too. Came back after 20 years and since the only deck, I played on a tournament back then was goblins, I had to build him
Ur-Dragon was my first foray into Commander back when the precon hit, but I haven't played it in years now. It's fun, but it rarely sticks... mainly it just enables its tribe, which is good enough for me. It just so happens I've been hyped about dragons ever since I was 3 years old, so this deck was love at first sight for me. Maybe I should overhaul it and sleeve it up again... Also, up high, Beezy - none of my active commanders are on this list either!
I would not say that - for sure she is not worst - both are great , and I enjoy both content. I think Mia is more "diffrent" in opinion then boys - so its better for "interesting" talks and points of view ;) @@lunarlight3131
jodah sure can be very quick and punishing but however as soon as you kill jodah the board shrinks in power and so i dont think is that bad and definetly desreves to be higher maybe D/C
I wish Omnath wasn't a kill on sight commander. Everyone always targets me and I never win. Now I have to run Greaves, Boots and Flicker effects to keep it on the battlefield. Good thing I can use the Flickers offensively too ;-)
My Edgar deck has all Vamps. I even have Vampiric Tutor with no combo to find...cause Vamps!😂 I have all 4 Eminence decks and only play them when both my wife and I play an Em deck - she likes the Cats 🐈
Dusk legion duelist makes you want to cast edgar. Esikas front side is a pretty good legends tribal deck. I also think esika is probably B or A for legends specifically. Its def better than jodah.
Shorikai going face is quite fun, especially once u have a small army and born to drive equiped, sometimes he even oneshots on command dmg xD Kotori helps alot too, giving lifelink and vigilance
I use to have Shorikai Voltron it stacked dictate heliod effects so when you crewed him he was a hard to block one shot truned it into a token deck though because Voltron was to easy to shut down
I have an ur dragon deck and some one in my pod has a gishath deck and i beat him 9 out of 10 times. Having access to all 5 colors plus flying dragons is extremely powerful. Id definitely rate ur dragon a step above gishath in terms of power.
Isshin, humans, dungeons. He says have fun attacking in mardu find almost any path from there. Good design. If he had any additional power or text he'd be gross.
I hate that Go-Shintai is a green card with a WUBRG ability. Just make the card itself WUBRG or colorless! It's always been central to Shrines that they're equally represented in all colors, so even if their commander has a five color identity it makes me never want to play it, because it would feel like a green shrines deck, which is just unnatural (unless you're actually making a mono-green shrine deck, in which case you're a legend).
Goblins or Elfes - that's usually what people build when they move from borrowing decks from friends or playing some arbitraty precon/leftover to their first deck
sad that my favorite magic power couple Rin and Seri didn't make this list... don't have any commanders built from this list, closest is that I have Thirteenth Doctor//Yazmin Khan and maybe will eventually build all of the cast from exile decks because I like that theme so much.
I have a Kaalia deck, I call it 1/3 Kaalia because there aren't any Demons or Dragons, it's an Angel Kindred deck. She's only the commander because I wanted orzhov and boros angels
How is prosper not at least A. It does everything a good commander should while not being completely op. Sure he is good and generates sometimes a bit to much of value but its still in the range i would call fair.
As a Yuriko player, commander ninjitsu reasonably just reads "hex proof". People know it can come back so they just chose not to kill it. And because the burn is even, you basically become the clock and win if nobody else is fast enough. While you go for stacked burns when possible, often it's just a random draw and there's something thrilling about a game being decided by going to the casino and betting everything on deck construction.
Krenko, Mob Boss
Say less lmaooooo
Legit have never seen anyone play Krenko
Watch people get scared cuz of one little goblin 😂

I have noticed the Krenko comments are slowly overtaking the Gravy Train comments... are you The Creator?
18:30 I was laughing so much when beezy says “geometric growth” and Mia turns to the camera and gives a tiny head shake
Haha nice catch!
the prismatic bridge is almost a perfect secret commander enabler
Get poor Krenko to S tier! 🎉
This commentor is spitting straight facts!
Krenko and artificial evolution is true S+
Hes far better then atraxa in regard to design and ability. Far more interesting and entertaining of a card.
I built a Kenrith deck that took all my Playgroups most popular commanders and threw them in the 99.

i agree that Edgar decks are usually just okay. They usually fold to one or two board wipes unless they get their clamps going
Miiram sentinel wyrm is sweet, making clones is always fun.
that 1 sec pause before beezy said anything gave me life
Fully agree on that Gishath rating he enables Dinosaur Tax evasion and for that he deserves the S tier.

Arcades is great.
Edgar is the kind of deck that is a 6 on a 9 table. The commander makes you play a lot of bad cards.

yeah but the point is coolness. Animar is sticky and annoying to interact with, that's why they didn't put it at a higher rank.
Shorikai going face is quite fun, especially once u have a small army and born to drive equiped, sometimes he even oneshots on command dmg xD
